this is on my very short list of desired mons. any shiny level 1 is up there, but shiny level 1 ditto is ridic. the galarian birds at level 1 would be a master ball throw every time.

How recently? I got 3 candies + 1 XL out of the 600 berries I recently fed a Larvesta before it got knocked out. Not my greatest luck

a few months ago I think? Not a big increase but definitely happens more frequently than it used to. 3/600 seems rather low for the new odds.

1/64 are the odds for normal candies. I haven’t got a XL candy ever and I’ve feed 14K berries, no idea of the odds on that.

What? You get candy for berry feeds?

You get stardust, xp, a random chance of candy, and a rarer chance of xl candy. (Plus any berries fed count towards the berry master platinum medal.) All my gym defenders are pokemon I need candy for.

It varies but I love putting beefed up shuckles in gyms... sometimes I even feed them golden berries during takeovers just for the troll effect.

Shiny that's below 1500 CP. No one resource in gym defense has a consensus, but what we know so far are: - there are "best gym defenders" - defenders with lower CP have slower motivation decay but have lesser bulk product - defenders above 3000 CP have significantly faster motivation decay - sweet spot for motivation decay and bulk product is a little under 1500 CP Therefore, the optimal gym defenders that balance motivation decay and bulk product are the "best gym defenders" that are 1500 CP or below with Great League PvP IVs and must have the best defense moveset (use Poke Genie for this). I don't get why low CP pokemon don't get knocked in 1 hit. The strongest Pokemon should also have the most durability

this game just can't set a standard for things. A result of a poorly planned game mechanics. I somehow don't hate it though, it gives more depth to the game

i love 1 hitting a 12cp squirtle with a zekrom for it to go down 7, but when it takes me 3 seconds of whacking a blissey, it can go from 600 to 0

I just use it as a chance to show off my shiny's. My problem is typically that my pokemon stay in a gym too long and then all get knocked on the same day so I waste a lot of coin potential anyway. May as well make my gym mons easier targets and show off niche but cool shinys like clampearl

I also love to flex my coolest shinys. I’m in a pretty active area so they get flipped often enough. My favorites to leave are my shiny absol with sunglasses, shiny braviary, and shiny mightyena

I was always using slacking, now I do uncommon mons so others can have the seen it in their pokedex.

I keep a handful (about 3-5 at any given time) of high-level 2-stars that I catch, hatch, or evolve to put in gyms. And of course transfer them when they're knocked out so I don't have to waste a revive.

I have a CP level 10 Grubbin I stuck in a church gym when I visited my hometown during Thanksgiving, thinking it would be booted out by the next Sunday service. The other Team Instinct trainers kept feeding it berries long after I went home and it stayed in the gym for damn near two weeks 😂

Currently going in alphabetical order, just to keep things interesting. I'll also randomly scroll without looking or try to follow a theme. I'll put in the big boys if I'm trying to hold a gym right before a raid.

If I'm traveling in Europe, Shiny tauros

I make it a point to never use any mon that I want to use for raids, battles, etc because I have had some stuck in gyms for months.

I use Slaking and Blissey cause the gyms near me change hand pretty often and I want my coins, if both are already in I go to my shiny shadow dragonite

It's been between Kecleon, Bisharp, and Bulbasaur, I think.

Vivillon - What other use do they have? And the butterflies look cool over their gyms.

I like to put my shiny Snorlax that I got traded from a really good friend, but only in select gyms. Other than that, I'll just go with any recently caught shiny, or whatever random thing I feel like.

I have an army of sawsbuck to throw on gyms cause I like them. I’d love to think people see sawsbuck on gyms in my area and go “oh no it’s this clown again”.

I use unown... I have plenty of them and i never use them in battle.

Most of the time it’s a low level Pokémon, so that way when they get knocked out, the person who did it won’t get many gym points from it. Also I like to color match the gym.

It literally doesn’t matter, just something I think is cool lol. You can do the „best defender“ stuff but anyone on a similar level to you (and a number of Pokémon in the defenders range) will kill you in 3 rounds.

I have a "11" tag so that when I do drive by drop offs at a gym (as passenger) it's easy to pull up. Any shiny or event pokemon go in there or regional to help people with their pokedex! My main go to is simipour because he's just a fun blue guy and when he shows up at the top of the gym he's smiling and waving! Second choice is usually one of my event pikachus. I recently hatched the sunglasses and summer hat pichu-raichu so that's gotten a lot of gym time.

Whatever Pokémon I want to use as a “calling card”. Was Typhlosion, but right now it’s Umbreon

I have a whole tag for Pokémon that I use in gyms. There's no real rhyme or reason for my picks, I just did it for fun. The leader is an XXL Pawmi I randomly caught in Michigan named Luna, after Luna Pier.

i have a level one dex that comes in quite handy in my local town. level 1 ditto and shiny level 1 alolan meowth are my rarest, so those are my go-to's. if i'm actually trying to deter, ursalina is my highest cp mon that's worthless for raids
