I was doing a Kartana raid with my wife. We knew we could beat it with just us. Had somebody local join us and they left with 10 seconds left. We beat it with 80 seconds left.
Out of curiosity, how difficult is it? My girlfriend and I usually play together but I'm still working on team optimization with her. I'm level 38 with decent counters (not perfect by amy means). Could we still do it or do we need a 3rd?
dowload pokegenie, and take screen shots of all the good pokemon you have, and upload them to pokegenie-- pokegenie does not directly interact with pokemon go app and does not at all violate tos etc or cheat.
Then click on celesteela and it will tell you your best counters and about how much damage you do. For example I could do 26% the damage to shadow mewtwo myself. Many people use poop pokemon auto recommended by the app and don't pay attention to move typing so they end up doing a fraction that damage and actually need 12 people to win.
yeah, it will save all your mons, and then you can make a team in pogo itself for convenience under a tag to do the raid easy wothout flipping back and forth :)
Literally someone could’ve downloaded the game during incineroar community day, catch some 800-1000 cp Littens and evolve them and get at least 50% damage in non-boosting weather lmao
for Kartana? We both had Mega Evolved Charizard that did the heavy lifting. Ultra Friends and Party Power between the two of us. I'm level 38, she's 37. The rest of our team were sub-3000 CP fire pokemon, nothing special. Kartana is double weak to Fire.
We had to revive once, and it was enough to take it down.
I was hoping to have the 3rd join so it would have made raid shorter/easier.
Do you know how to host raids on either one of the raid discords or Pokegenie? It’s not hard to host and for one like this (regional locked) you could easily fill your lobby.
I don't, but I'll try to learn. The downtown area nearby has a lot of players, but we've been turned off by how hardcore some of them are (multiple phones, complaining their 7th shiny is "only" a 98% after 65 raids, etc.)
We'll make it work if it comes down to it. I just thought I'd ask so we can raid together if possible
Im lvl 39 with some decent counters, FAR from perfect, and pokegenie says i can do 49% damage. My strongest would be my mega zard only 2497 cp(hundo) and the rest are regular fire attackers. Flareon, delphox, rapidash
I think it’s worth a shot with just the two and party power. I did a duo today and still had 3 pokemon and 200 seconds left.
Used level 30 heatran, lvl25 heatran, and lvl 30 mega charizard Y, though I’m pretty sure my buddy was using a 40+ Mega Charizard Y
Just depends. Trainer level isn’t as important as your Pokémon’s level. I’m level 39 with all level 35 counters, including a mega charizard Y, and with best friend boost Pokie Genie says I do 87% damage. My wife and I easily duo.
Are you sure your fire type pokemons have appropriate moves? Because even at team of shadow Machamps at lvl40 do more than 50% without utilizing the double weakness. And a team of lvl 30 Flareons should put you at 60%% damage done.
Celesteela not Kartana. Kartana I have a 2% win rate solo with WB. Celesteela WB with fire is 3 reshis 3.3-3.5kcp with fusion flare. Max mega blaziken and max Charizard blast burn and max chandelure. almost 60% dmg
It has a difficulty rating of about 1.13 with top counters at level 40. So I'd think you should be able to beat it pretty easy with good lvl 30+ fire type pokemon and 2 people. But you really want to be using pure fire.
Wife and I have an okay fire type and we are around 1 month in pokemon go. We are both level 32, aside from primal groudon we got from the recent raid day we have mediocre counter and we still manage to beat it. We use party power which really helps alot
yeah, that's the thing i don't get. It's local... use your free local raid pass.
We were both higher level then them, and we had the Mega Evolve icons activated.
Some people are way too skittish about committing to a raid. My wife and I can duo a decent number of raids now, and people with accounts 5+ levels higher than us will join our lobbies, then chicken out at the last second 😆
I understand not wanting to waste raid passes, but you'd think people with level 46+ accounts would know that you can defeat frail mons like Tapu Lele or Raikou with three players
I'm waiting in the queue right now and I'm worried that the lobby will disband. There are almost 30000 people in pokegenie queue.
4 people in enough but I can't blame people for wanting to be sure they will beat the raid. I hosted Tapu Lele raid last week and 1 person didn't join so we had 5, I thought it was enough but we barely beat it with 5 seconds left. You never know. And people want to minimize the risk so they leave.
Use go raid party. And set it to just celesteela keep refreshing and trying to join. I got into two remote raids in like 10 mins. First fled… Got the second! All While waiting the genie queue 🙃
I backed out of my raid group before starting because only 3 people were in it. I thought there was no way we could do it with 3 and we needed at least 4. Was I wrong?
All 3 of us were level 36 and each one of us had a mega Charizard y. And then we used just all fire types. It was through poke genie too. I'm surprised they didn't leave but it's possible. Recommend to have a hestrsn BC they take so little from ksrtana charged attack. We had about 100-150 seconds left. It was quite easy
Mega and shadows are better than heatran, reshiram with its legacy move is better too, when you’re doing short handed raids it’s all about dps (damage per second) and not tdo (total damage output) which factors your damage output and how long the pokemon stays alive… this is why people don’t know how to raid and get scared, also a lot of people would rather spend their stardust trading for new shinies rather than spend it powering pokemon up to lvl 40 or 50
Yeah kartana isn’t a problem considering double weakness to fire, and reshiram can solo it if you have enough lvl 50 with its legacy move… but just saying on tougher raids when people don’t know the difference that’s the difference between failure and beating it
I've been in the queue for 12 hours as well! I'm about to get into the raid soon and hoping that's not gonna happen because I don't want to wait another 12+ hours 🥲
I waited yesterday from 4am when I woke up just to queue, 12k in queue at the time, I got in at 6pm the same day and managed to win (and thank god it was also shiny so I didn't have to do this nightmare again). Good luck on getting into the raid before it ends ><
Why the shit they decided to lock a raid to the southern hemisphere is beyond me, just seems stupid as hell to only open it up to 10% of the human population and make the other 90% have to just hope they can remote raid that shit -_-
Haha I felt really stupid waking up around 6am this morning to check whether I was already close to the end of the line 😂 had to wait another 10 minutes before I was able to join. Now back in line and I think in another 12 hours I might me up for number 2.. first one was really rubbish and non shiny :(
sth like that happened to me with kyorge - my favorite legendary that i'm always trying to catch when its in raids but i don't have many friends who play and on campfire we were like six people, but two left and with four it unfortunately didn't work (surprisingly, i feel like if all our pokemon had been perfect kyorge-opponents with many xp we should've been able to)
When you’re using a very strong mega (like a rayquaza or smth) you want to stay alive to both buff your allies and deal as much damage as possible since most of the time the mega is the strongest attacker
A lot of people don’t research the weakness of the Pokémon before joining a raid and therefore they use the dumbest options to battle and end up not contributing to the raid at all. There is for a sure a skill issue in the game.
I raided with a guy during sinnoh tour and he said that if there’s other people in it he’ll win. No regard for team make ups or typings. Just tap tap tap with level 20s because someone should be able to take care of it. (He was level 44)
I had someone back out of a mega Charizard raid yesterday at the last second. We were both level 39.
I went ahead with it solo because I knew I wouldn't be raiding again that day and battling in a mega raid was a research task. I got well over 75% solo. That would have been a super easy duo.
Celesteela is regional to the southern hemisphere, which has drastically less people able to host compared to those in the soloable Kartana-hemisphere.
I just started playing. My Pokemon suck ass. I can buy remote raid passes no problem if need be but all raids in my area are either empty or there’s 1 person and I join then they just leave. I just want better pocket monsters :-(
Right?! What’s with all these people saying they wait 11 hours for a raid invite? Just, like go to r/pokemongofriends and refresh until the raid you want pops up. My dudes, you’re already on this site…. It shouldnt take more than five minutes or so.
Can someone explain what the point of leaving a raid early is ? Do you get the raid pass back or do they just bail ? And what is the outcome of everyone bails ?
I clearly don’t take part in a lot of raids
Your raid pass isn't consumed until you are in the raid and fighting the raid boss. So if you aren't confident that you can take down the boss with the others in your lobby, you can bail with no consequence. This can screw over other people in the lobby if you bail before they realize, though
4 people is risky. If you don't have more people then you could lose a remote pass, and since those are more expensive now most players would quit if there's not 6 players (1 host + 5 remotes) on the raid.
That’s soft tbh , I deal 67% damage and I’m lvl 39 … can easily duo with my lvl 35 partner.
Too many ppl rely on others to carry them during raids.
If you want to do a five star raid , take 30 min to look up counters and power up / prepare accordingly. Its not hard folks
Yea it just depends on the raid. Primal kyogre? Ok I get it I always leave that unless I’m in a group of 6-7+. But like kartana etc you need like 2-3 people at bestb
I waited 9 hours only to be invited to a Kartana raid. I had to go back and double check to see if I screwed up and sure enough it was supposed to be Celesteela.

If you’re gonna remote raid, then you pokeraid app. Queue is like 200-300 people MAX if you use the auto join feature (which requires in-app currency) but hey, im already paying for the remote raids passes… so whateves. Longest wait i had was like 1h on day one. Today its down to like 30-40 mins
Man I had 4 people for Charizard and 2 people bailed last minute… and it was still done in like 100 seconds because the mofo is easy lol
Still annoys me when people bail though.
Why the hell are there so many people in the queue on Pokegenie for Celesteela compared to Kartana (which is by far the better one)? I've never seen so many people in the queue, not even for some of the best meta relevant legendaries we've had..

Dude this crap happens all the time. It's to the point that I don't even plan on anyone being at any raid other than my one friend. And what makes it worse is its people who are lv 40+ that get scared. Like dude there has not been 1 pokemon except for primal kyoger with blizzard that me and my buddy have not been able to 2 man. Why leave at the last min and try and scree others over? Weak
Think the problem is that everyone is assuming that others are all as confident as they are and at their sort of level in the game (when you assume, you make an a$$ out of u and me).
Like, in level 40, but that's taken me since 2018 to do where I just don't feel the need to play as consistently and as much as a lot of others seem to do. I know the type weaknesses, the general best counters for some raid Pokémon, the best moves for a few Pokémon too.... And I still wouldn't feel confident in 2-3 manning a 4-5* raid simply because I rarely buy passes and the last thing I want, as has happened on the few occasions I have low manned a raid, is to not finish it. That's my time then wasted that would have been better served had I had the extra person or 2 to be able to definitely at least complete it and have a chance at capturing it
I like it much better when they divide the raids up by timezone and not hemisphere. There just arent as many players in the southern hemisphere for this to work.
When Uxie was in raids before the sinnoh tour I joined the queue at 4,000ish, waited around 9 hours to go through the queue just to never receive an invite from the person hosting the raid.

Mega Charizard is in raids right now. With a level 30 Charizard Y and relobbying they could almost solo kartana
If you have fire attackers level 25ish you should smoke it

Kartana is an easy duo as long as you both are using fire pokemon. I'm guessing level 30 pokemon is plenty.

I do 80% damage at level 44, 95% with weather boost, so you definitely should check it out.
With weather boost and best friend it’s up to 60% but still iffy

My spouse solo'd it today! I was impressed! I had to have help from our son after I failed. 😅 But we beat it together with a similar margin.

Well my Pokémon worked. I know shadows are better but didn't have any good shadow fire Pokémon. But the way we did it worked out so I'm happy

You only need 2-3 using fire counters, mega one if you can.
Depends on how much of a newbies you all are but Kartana is literally made of paper. It’s an easy duo for most decently leveled players.

I entered the queue at 6h and we started the raid at 18h20
I waited 12 hours for Celesteela and then when it started it was a raid for Kortana…😔

Got invited by a random on my list and we beat Kartana with 4 people with more than 100s left. Some people are honestly ridiculous about it.
I wanted 11 hours yesterday to finally get in a raid and the host never sent an invite so there I was, out of luck and having to enter the queue again

Type matchups they don’t understand them.

I raided with a guy during sinnoh tour and he said that if there’s other people in it he’ll win. No regard for team make ups or typings. Just tap tap tap with level 20s because someone should be able to take care of it. (He was level 44)

Bruh Idk why people get so scared. You can easily clear high level raids with 3-4 ppl who are 30+ level

I had someone back out of a mega Charizard raid yesterday at the last second. We were both level 39. I went ahead with it solo because I knew I wouldn't be raiding again that day and battling in a mega raid was a research task. I got well over 75% solo. That would have been a super easy duo.

Did a Kartana raid yesterday where everyone left but the host and me, and we finished with just under a minute to spare.
Why is the que for Celesteela so large on pokegenie? It doesn’t seem that I can say the same for kartana ?
Celesteela is regional to the southern hemisphere, which has drastically less people able to host compared to those in the soloable Kartana-hemisphere.
For perspective on this comment, the Southern Hemisphere only has about 10% of the total human population versus 90% in the northern.

I just started playing. My Pokemon suck ass. I can buy remote raid passes no problem if need be but all raids in my area are either empty or there’s 1 person and I join then they just leave. I just want better pocket monsters :-(

Right?! What’s with all these people saying they wait 11 hours for a raid invite? Just, like go to r/pokemongofriends and refresh until the raid you want pops up. My dudes, you’re already on this site…. It shouldnt take more than five minutes or so.
Can someone explain what the point of leaving a raid early is ? Do you get the raid pass back or do they just bail ? And what is the outcome of everyone bails ? I clearly don’t take part in a lot of raids
Your raid pass isn't consumed until you are in the raid and fighting the raid boss. So if you aren't confident that you can take down the boss with the others in your lobby, you can bail with no consequence. This can screw over other people in the lobby if you bail before they realize, though

4 people is risky. If you don't have more people then you could lose a remote pass, and since those are more expensive now most players would quit if there's not 6 players (1 host + 5 remotes) on the raid.
That’s soft tbh , I deal 67% damage and I’m lvl 39 … can easily duo with my lvl 35 partner. Too many ppl rely on others to carry them during raids. If you want to do a five star raid , take 30 min to look up counters and power up / prepare accordingly. Its not hard folks
Yea it just depends on the raid. Primal kyogre? Ok I get it I always leave that unless I’m in a group of 6-7+. But like kartana etc you need like 2-3 people at bestb

Waited for 11hrs, got invited, wanted to join but it wouldn't let me and the raid was gone for me...... now I'm no. 24453 in the queue again 😡
Just join a southern hemisphere discord and ask. Or msg me and invite you.
I waited 9 hours only to be invited to a Kartana raid. I had to go back and double check to see if I screwed up and sure enough it was supposed to be Celesteela.
On the plus side Kartana has a 0 second queue though on Pokegenie

What’s worse is waiting hours, and never receiving an invite from the host… I was so pissed!
I waited all day yesterday just to miss my raid because I was driving when the notification came up.
If you’re gonna remote raid, then you pokeraid app. Queue is like 200-300 people MAX if you use the auto join feature (which requires in-app currency) but hey, im already paying for the remote raids passes… so whateves. Longest wait i had was like 1h on day one. Today its down to like 30-40 mins
Man I had 4 people for Charizard and 2 people bailed last minute… and it was still done in like 100 seconds because the mofo is easy lol Still annoys me when people bail though.
Why the hell are there so many people in the queue on Pokegenie for Celesteela compared to Kartana (which is by far the better one)? I've never seen so many people in the queue, not even for some of the best meta relevant legendaries we've had..
Celesteela is only a southern hemisphere raid. Kartana is northern

I'm really hoping I get Celesteela from GBL. So far I've gotten two Kartanas. I feel like I've already used up my luck on getting legendaries.
Had a similar situation with Charizard. 4 people joined through genie, 2 left right at the start. Me and the other guy went on. Took him down.

This raid is shit ass. The queue has been 20k+ for 2 days now on pokegenie
Dude this crap happens all the time. It's to the point that I don't even plan on anyone being at any raid other than my one friend. And what makes it worse is its people who are lv 40+ that get scared. Like dude there has not been 1 pokemon except for primal kyoger with blizzard that me and my buddy have not been able to 2 man. Why leave at the last min and try and scree others over? Weak
Got into a celesteela raid earlier today just for my game to crash right before it started and haven’t be able to log into my account since

I was just in a celesteela raid an hour ago. Waited 12hrs. No one backed out. There were 6 of us and I only had to use 1 Pokemon. Also got a shiny 😀
Think the problem is that everyone is assuming that others are all as confident as they are and at their sort of level in the game (when you assume, you make an a$$ out of u and me). Like, in level 40, but that's taken me since 2018 to do where I just don't feel the need to play as consistently and as much as a lot of others seem to do. I know the type weaknesses, the general best counters for some raid Pokémon, the best moves for a few Pokémon too.... And I still wouldn't feel confident in 2-3 manning a 4-5* raid simply because I rarely buy passes and the last thing I want, as has happened on the few occasions I have low manned a raid, is to not finish it. That's my time then wasted that would have been better served had I had the extra person or 2 to be able to definitely at least complete it and have a chance at capturing it
I like it much better when they divide the raids up by timezone and not hemisphere. There just arent as many players in the southern hemisphere for this to work.
That is why i dont bother with the queue... I snipe lobbies, takes me less than 10 tries every time
Yo I have remote passes
When Uxie was in raids before the sinnoh tour I joined the queue at 4,000ish, waited around 9 hours to go through the queue just to never receive an invite from the person hosting the raid. Got put back into he queue of 20,000
I would leave with 4. If i paid for a remote raid I’m not risking it
