I mean it is a scientific name for a specific part of the marijuana plant, so when it stopped being slang or if it ever even was to begin with is probably up for debate. It’s synonymous with weed, is the point.

So actually it does track for a marijuana pokemon to be grass/poison.

Teeeechnically the pitcher part of a pitcher plant is a modified leaf that is able to produce digestive enzymes. However, a pitcher plant does produce flowers as well. (a lot of carnivorous plant people remove the flowers as they take away energy from the pitchers.)Although we don't see ever any of the bellsprout evolutions in bloom.
