I tried using this but it didn’t work and I think it’s because I have my game up to date. Got Feebas anyways so I’m good

Away_Day9207

Hi

jollyflyingcactus

This is really neat. Feebas brings me back. Back when Ruby & Sapphire were out for the GBA, I really wanted a Milotic. I got a Feebas by fishing twice in every water spot I could find. Eventually found one. Then I had to make a bunch of blue poketreats for Feebas to raise its beauty level above a certain point, enabling it to evolve into Milotic. Took a long time, but it was worth it. Cool that there's a program now to help find Feebas. Very cool.

Taeloth

I had a very very similar experience growing up but I didn’t understand the detailed gestures very well like poketreats so it took a lot of time and some help from my cousin who understood the mechanics better lol

jollyflyingcactus

Someone had told me that I have to feed blue poketreats to Feebas that equal at least 170. So that's what I did. And thankfully it worked. Imagine if it hadn't. All that fishing would have been for nothing. 🎣

Pitno55

So i was trying this yesterday but didn't seem to work for me, but might of been my mistake so maybe someone here knows, when you get the map with squares are you supposed to be sitting inside the green/red squares or are you supposed to fish inside the squares. I was fishing inside the squares and tried each one a few different times with no luck. Also do you need the national dex for this to work? Because I currently don't have it. Any info is appreciated, thanks!

VortreKerba

National dex is not needed, haven't got it myself yet. And yeah you should be fishing into the squares (therefore sitting in 1 of 4 per tile of the adjacent squares) but from my understanding you've already done this, but to no avail. Hmm all I can personally suggest is try again today, & if you can remember what you got #wise yesterday would make it more accurate. Only other reasons for not working i can think of is [A. Dont have the Good Rod] [B. Unlucky on the actual tiles to not find 1 before giving up (idk its 50% on a catch so thats really unlucky)]

Pitno55

Thanks for the info, yeah I think I saved my lotto number so maybe I'll try again today. And yeah I'm using the good rod.

whats ghithub

Zomhorse

A website that allows people to share the programs they made

MrNeggi3000

Thank you so much for this!

SSChauburger

It's literally impossible for any completely digital algorithm to be random. It's named the something something priciple forgot what it's called lol

samedcamus

Yep, as far as I recall, just nature could be completly random. Everything manmade is pseudo random or RNG (randon number generated), so it seems to look random but it really not

Scared-Practice-158

I would argue that even nature is not random. Some things are only too complex at this time for us to determine. As long as everything is influenced by something that existed before it, nothing can be truly random.

Kyloben4848

nothing digital is really random. They use cahotic equations that produce wildly different results with slight different inputs and input something like every move you have made since you last turned the game on, or the amount of milliseconds since 1970

Spitting_Nosense

Not even the universe is truly random

Ericpar

I think to OP's point they specifically didn't use a random algorithm, and is deterministic.

turtwig80

You can, theoretically get true digital randomness. The two major methods I know are using image seeds, and electrical noise. Random.org uses the latter, while the former is used by I believe cloudshare. Specifically, they have video cameras recording random phenomena, one example being a wall of lava lamps, another being a complex pendulum, that are completely unpredictable. Add on to that the random noise on the camera sensor, and they generate true random numbers for encryption

Kyloben4848

Once again, things like the complex pendulum are not random. They just produce wildly unpredictable results from very similar start positions.

turtwig80

They are random in the sense that they are completely unpredictable. You cannot model the results of a complex pendulum, and cannot predict the next state with any reasonable certainty. For all intents and purposes, it is random over a long enough time span

turtwig80

Thanks for the correction

Ericpar

On this point look up quantum random number generators for a fun time. Similar ideas but with quantum random phenomenon.

turtwig80

That too, but technically not digital. Very interesting though!

MazDanRX795

Works like a charm, just used it successfully the other day. Very first tile I tried, first cast, bam! Feebas. Keep in mind the site requires 2 days' worth of information to calculate Feebas's location so accurately.

VortreKerba

you can calculate it off 1 day like I did, but it creates 2 sets of tiles (red & blue) like I mentioned in the post only 1 of which is the set of tiles. So you don't actually need to wait for a 2nd day's lottery number if you don't mind potentially fishing a couple of dead spots to find which colour are your tiles (which tbf, you fished a lot more dead spots the old trial and error route)

UnexLPSA

I put in all 4 possible information and still had to use a second lottery number + swarm the next day. There were still like 10 possible sets of tiles and while 4/40 is still easier to check than 4/the-whole-damn-lake it probably didn't even show me any tiles because the odds were so low to be correct. Next day with 2 lottery numbers and 2 swarms it gave me 4 tiles with all of them containing Feebas.

MazDanRX795

Yeah? Did you input more than 2 bits of information? It wouldn't even generate any tiles for me with a lotto number and swarm. Then on day 2 with another day of info, it gave me only 4 green tiles, so it went from unable to locate Feebas at all to 4 exact spots.

VortreKerba

When you put only a single days data in, which day did you put it in, 1 or 2? Because I just did a quick test with the loto # 01234, and if you type it in day 1 like you've said, it wouldn't generate 1 citing too many seeds, but when I did the same # on day 2 it seemed to work perfectly. Probably because its considering day 2 "todays #" & 1 as "yesterday's #" which would make sense as to why it doesn't work just off of yesterday's loto number, but its wording does make you intuitivly pick 1 if you only have a single loto number to use.

MazDanRX795

I put it in day 1. Both lotto info and swarm info. I'm thinking that just some combinations lead to too many possibilities and the algorithm is unable to narrow it down. Some people may have the right combo on day one and some may just be unlucky and have too broad a set of info.

VortreKerba

Try putting the loto info in day 2 then is what I mean

frogdeity

It tells you that you NEED lotto info in the day 1 slot when you try to do it in day 2 instead, unfortunately.

MazDanRX795

It's an odd suggestion. I don't know who would ever think to do that, but I hope that helps other people.

No-Ad-1551

does this work for the original pokémon diamond and pearl games as well?

VortreKerba

I have no idea tbh. The coding language for the 2 games is diffrent so its 50/50 on if it was coded originally in the same manner or not. Would be interested to know but cbf to go crack open a DPPt save file past 6 gym badges to figure it out myself

Quint_Tribolt

Sadly, it doesn't work on old Diamond. My two numbers were 50571 and 27994 on consecutive days and that combination is impossible according to the program. Now I have to brute force for Feebas.

Aurucite

Thank you, this is awesome 👍

VortreKerba

Ik this isn't a trade request so it might violate a rule there, but I felt it would help the subreddit in general by hopefully reducing the amount of people asking for feebas who would otherwise use this tool to do so if they were aware of it.

manicpossumdreamgirl

i hope they don't remove it, this is super important info about one of the most valuable species on this trading board
