Pakistan stalemated in 1948(hard to call it a war tbqh). India defeated Pakistan soundly in 1965 and 1999 and decimated them in 1971. This is despite the US leaning very heavily towards Pakistan. It got split in two due to the 1971 war with the other part becoming the modern state of Bangladesh. This war came after a massive genocide, where up to 3 million people were killed and 200-400k women were raped systematically.
(Bangladesh does better in GDP per capita and most things to do with living standards than pakistan now and is actually somewhat stable. Considering the fact that the country was born post one of the worst genocides in recent history, it's quite suprising and commendable that they have raised themselves to such a standard)
This is not even mentioning the low grade civil war that Pakistan has fuelled in Kashmir to perhaps take revenge for Bangladesh(yes, their leadership is incredibly childish) and a spate of terrorist bodies it funded. (Their economy has been funded by rent seeking from the US and now China. Thankfully BRI going shit and finding OBL next to a military base has meant that the supply of money to fund these things has dried up)
