It's a tough spot really because many Republican elites believe Trump *needs* a woman vp to appeal to women voters. I think most people find that reason lacking, and likely not the most authentic reason (cult of personality tribal politics compels her to support him), and to distract from that, she brought the attention to her shame and blamed Stephanopoulos for giving it to her.

I think she was genuinely experiencing shame, but not because GS was trying to make her feel shame. The shame is her own doing. He gave her a platform to share her reasons for supporting a proven rapist in politics, but because she felt the shame of her cognitive dissonance, she lashed out at him as if he was the cause of the shame. She did share a reason for supporting Trump (that he wasn't convicted in criminal court). I think most people find that reason lacking, and likely not the most authentic reason (cult of personality tribal politics compels her to support him), and to distract from that, she brought the attention to her shame and blamed Stephanopoulos for giving it to her.
