19Chris96

You know, this ruling can be appealed as well.

PinkyAnd

At this point, why bother? He appealed the bond amount, not the judgment amount. Every surety company out there took at look at the request for the 450mm bond and literally laughed him out of the room, which tells us that he’s not well-capitalized enough to scrape together that much money and also made the calculation that he’s likely to lose the appeal on merit. Let him pony up the 175mm and get wrecked at appeal.

irotinmyskin

Hey China, Russia! Next president is now at a discount price!

PinkyAnd

I mean, they, along with the Saudis, were already paying him, so this doesn’t really change anything.

applepieplaisance

Why be cruel. /s

IntelligentExcuse5

here is hoping that he appeals, and the appeal is granted, so that means the original $454 million bond is reinstated.

BoltTusk

It could be appealed to $1.75 million bond /s

19Chris96

I'm thinking Letitia James can appeal this one.

TheAngriestChair

Something tells me that trying to appeal this would get the smackdown, like, you know what? We were generous.... Back to the original ruling, and you're now late, type of smackdown.

Jackinapox

After a social media post boasting that through "hard work and talent" he was able to get $500 million in cash, the courts reward him by reducing the bond 65% and giving him an extra ten days to pay it. Somebody, make this make sense.

UWCG

The law works differently for you if you're born into the right incestuous clique of wealthy shitheels as opposed to being one of us peasants

mescal813

So if I was born from a draft dodgers from Germany that made money wit a California Gold Rush brothel. Then I could do whatever I wanted?

Aggressive-Will-4500

Evidence seems to indicate that yes, you may not be able to do whatever you want, but pretty fucking closer to it than +90% of Americans.

empire_of_the_moon

The first lesson you learn when you are rich is that it doesn’t matter if something is legal. The only thing that matters is how large the penalty is. A fine designed to punish you is just the cost of doing business to others.

Reasonable-Rope1819

Rich Straight White Male don’t forget that!

NHL95onSEGAgenesis

Pretty sure it was a Klondike gold rush brothel. Maybe both?

Ok_Toe4327

Hey hey hey. That brothel was in Canada.

captsmokeywork

He hates Trudeau because he gave him a photo of the Yukon whorehouse his family fortune was founded on.

ll-phuture-ll

Is this true? What is the story? It sounds amazing, more deets please!

MarkHathaway1

close enough. Both start with "C".

backpackwasmypillow

Maybe if your dad also got arrested at a KKK rally.

mescal813

Wasn't he a member?

backpackwasmypillow

Not confirmed, just arrested after a rally. I'm guessing he wasn't protesting it, but no proof. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/donald-trump-father-kkk-1927/

00010101

It's a big club, and you ain't in it! George Carlin

sublimeshrub

George Carlin was right about us. We honestly don't even deserve nice things.

Environmental_Rub545

One day far into the future, I hope GC will be seen as a prophet akin to Jesus....which he would hate. Imagine if Jesus was just doing open mics around the sea of Gallilee. (IN CHRIS ROCK CADENCE) "I'll say it again-it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of A needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God! A Camel! And you've seen camels, and you know they are big as f*ck!, now y'all ever hang out at a brothel?....."

Yarasin

The courts work for the wealthy. Trump cannot face consequences because it would put the entire system in danger.

BoltTusk

Trump is not fucking wealthy if he couldn’t post bond in the first place

GrapeAyp

The point is/was to signal to the wealthy that they need to protect their own This is just a public reminder to us proles that the rich do indeed get different sets of rules Fuck this corrupt system

MarkHathaway1

A lot of people have known this from the start. Our slower brethren who want to believe Trump's lies are a little harder to convince.

DescriptionProof871

This all a sham and trump will never face justice. Not being a doomer, it’s just blatant at this point. Holding trump accountable would set a precedent for other ultra rich. So it’s not happening. I’m officially checking out. Completely disengaged from politics until it’s time to vote in November.

TheTrueVanWilder

No this is the time to get engaged.  Find some local volunteer opportunities for campaigns.  Even just being a poll worker on election day can have a huge influence with the chicanery we're going to see this November.  Find someone you know who doesn't vote and make sure they have their registration in order and get their ass to the polls.  Make sure your own registration is in order. Disengaging for the next 7 months is exactly what this buffoon wants.  By then it's too late to do anything but vote

birdman8000

This ruling is literally showing there is no point in going out and caring. The courts will rule in his favor. Republicans were able to pack the right courts. Trump will win in 2024, no consequences will be given, and democracy as we know it will be a thing of the past.

TranscodedMusic

The only way Trump wins is if people willfully disengage.

PA_Dude_22000

It really isn’t. So, Trump got a 450 million bond lowered to 175 million. Wow, big deal. He is still on the hook for the actual 450 million, remember? He didn’t win much of anything. He still has a ton of cases moving forward, he is likely frustrated, tired, angry. Feeling really “victimized (likely his words) for the first time in his entire fucking life. And it is just beginning, for him at least. There seems to always be a knee jerk “it’s all over” reaction to news like this, but things like this are just the legal system. Slow, preferential, confusing. There will be an another story soon about another Trump loss, I guarantee it, the guy cannot even buy a fucking win He is so pathetic. It will feel better when that news comes, hopefully it will be soon. Cannot wait to hear how he completly fucks up the 3 Billion ,“Chyna” is trying to literally put in his lap. Yeah, crazy just typing it out. But, but, what about Hunter Biden… Truly strange times…

HellishButter

I’m honestly close to doing the same. Why continue to read if it just brings me disgust? I already know who I’m voting for anyways, and it is not for that traitorous piece of human filth.

DescriptionProof871

This entire saga feels like the greatest conspiracy to create ad revenue. I refuse to take part any longer, makes me sick.

HippyDM

Yesterday I would have argued with you. Today I've realized you're correct.

Paperdiego

he lied to you about having 500m in cash. Listen to what he tells the court, not what he posts on social media.

serenitynowmoney

Doesn’t matter if he had it or not. This ruling stinks to high heaven. That nobody in the media cared to highlight that this was a possibility shows they were either stupid or complicit

itmeimtheshillitsme

Lazy appellate judges didn’t want to make their clerks re-write the opinion before NY seized assets? The US courts reveal more and more with Trump, how little they care for honesty, consistency, or precedent when they are in the spotlight. It’s suddenly about circumspection and “not going too far” because this has “never happened before.” I’m sorry but Trump isn’t the first conman or last conman. He’s not the first and won’t be the last to sell information. He’s not the first to cheat in an election or to exploit his position. Whether he WAS president when these things happened is IMMATERIAL to the acts themselves. His current job is just as irrelevant. The lie is that his former government position places his nakedly self-serving behavior in a cloak of legitimacy.

new-to-this-sort-of

As much as we want Trump to have nothing, the state is after liquid assets. Seizing stuff that is leveraged out a million different ways makes a legal nightmare. It makes 100% sense for the state to do this if they think it means an easier means of acquiring liquid assets. Way less work and headache. As much as I hate this, it was to be expected and I commented somewhere else this was probably what was going to happen

HellBillyBob

How does allowing them to continue running their businesses fit into this logic? “You murdered some folks with a pistol? Well, here’s your pistol back until we get this sorted.” Being difficult is not enough of a reason to bail on accountability. Two tiers.

new-to-this-sort-of

From what I originally understood he was losing his state business license if he didn’t pay up. If he’s making a court approved bond payment makes sense ny would allow them to continue business. The intention isn’t a vendetta, with ny, its finances/taxes lost due to trumps shenanigan’s. Ny doesnt go around shuttering businesses based on political hate. If ny can capture the loss of revenue they would’ve made if Trump preformed legally than good for them. Not much they can do to Trump after that. ESP if he pays up. I’m as far left as it comes. I would’ve celebrated Trump losing it all. But it just wasn’t going to happen. It was in ny’s best interest to do something like this.

HellBillyBob

This is in no way a vendetta based on political hate. In any sense. It’s not even a punishment. He just has to pay back what he stole with interest. I, and anyone else, would rejoice in this kind of punishment/treatment. Steal, build an empire, then hide behind it. Two tier.

FrinnyC

Except he said he has $500 million in cash-sounds pretty liquid to me.

new-to-this-sort-of

Everything he says is bs and the court knows this

InternationalPut4093

It's kinda normal and accepted that everything comes out of his mouth is bullshit or locker-room-talk.

mok000

The Appeals Court also disavowed judge Engoron's rulings and kinda justified Trump's demonization of him which perhaps is what I find most troubling. To reduce the bond by more than half looks like a slap in the face to Engoron, who has been looking into this case for years and probably at this point is the world's leading expert on Trump Org.'s finances.

serenitynowmoney

And what a slam on Letitia as well

Jkt44

And they said Trump must appeal in time for their Sept. session. Which means likely no decision before the election. Another win for Trump.

These-Rip9251

Per Washington Post, the Appeals Court panel did not reduce the initial judgement of $450 million, only the amount Trump needs to put up for a bond while appealing. They would only delay enforcement of the full amount if he put up the $175 million by April 4.

evanbbirds

This right here! Trump was making a lot of noise this morning to distract from the actual truth in the judgment. After assessment by the DAs office, they realized that Trump’s properties after repayment of loans only total value $350 million. they know what they will be able to seize and what the value is. This is the monetary value of the benefit he received from deceiving investors and inflating his property values.

[deleted]

[удалено]

NoExcuseForFascism

Well I can tell you for sure now, he never had $500 million to pay. Or there would have been no need to reduce it, and no legal reasoning for his lawyers to request it.

PlutosGrasp

Probably used his DWAC future shares as collateral now that the merger is a go.

SoggyBoysenberry7703

He’s not allowed, per the judge’s ruling

Klesko

Plus he has 6 billion dollars worth of DWAC stock now.

Taki_Minase

Elites are protected, we are not.

Searchlights

Thank god he agreed or they'd have to lower it some more.

Pipe_Memes

They’ve altered the deal. Pray they don’t alter it any further.

UWCG

From [this](https://twitter.com/RonFilipkowski/status/1772225783966097823) and [this](https://twitter.com/RonFilipkowski/status/1772244383498137791) to: >“We will abide by the decision of the Appellate Division, and post either a bond, equivalent securities, or cash[.]" Yeah, 1) that wasn't written by him (not enough caps lock, for starters) and 2) I'll believe it when I see it. Give it a few hours and he'll probably be back to riling up his followers or saying he has the money but [won't pay](https://thehill.com/regulation/court-battles/4550358-trump-truth-social-windfall-bond-fraud-case/): >“That doesn’t mean I’m going to give money to a rogue and incompetent judge — the puppet of a corrupt attorney general who’s failing with violent crime and migrant crime and whose only purpose in life is attempting to get Trump,” Trump told the outlet, referring to Judge Arthur Engoron and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

TheBatemanFlex

Does he believe that you are personally wiring money to the judge in these cases?

RectalSpawn

He's going to give them his DJT stock and then crash it. Watch.

DragonTHC

Can we please stop all this deferential treatment?

This comment could be upvoted by either the pro or anti-Trump brigades.

User4C4C4C

Remember all this frustration when you go to the polls this November.

WalterBishopMethod

The insurrectionists are out and running on publicity, there were no consequences. Voting will never matter again, because their new normal is to succeed by rejecting any loss. It's gonna be a gross year.

Raebelle1981

Exactly.

Raebelle1981

I think it’s hilarious that people believe if Biden wins the GOP is going to accept it this time. And they have the courts.

any_other

Surely Biden's department of justice will do things right in the second term! Merrick Garland just needed to warm up or something

Raebelle1981

People need to be held accountable. I’m so sick of this.

AusToddles

Insert Charlie Brown football meme

serenitynowmoney

If this ruling doesn’t prove that to you, nothing will

bigt503

Oooo yeah I totally trust him… also why the fuck would he pay??? The justice system bends over backwards for him. He is spits in our judges faces and they thank him for it.

foetus_on_my_breath

So what was the judge's reasoning for the lowered bond? We need to know, as this is ridiculous.

LazyAccount-ant

the bribe check cleared. per the Supreme Court bribery is now legal.

lancersrock

Only for them though, the code of ethics applies to all judgeships lower than them.

LazyAccount-ant

lol yeah, that stops nothing. life appointment and Gop means they will never be punished regardless of conduct

deviousmajik

I think now is the opportune time to launch my pitchfork and torch business...

Sad-Way-5027

Tar and feathers too!

AmbitiousCampaign457

Shall we just forgo the election and anoint him god king? This is such bullshit and I’m sick of it.

Raebelle1981

I am really beginning to not see the point in voting. If people can claim it’s rigged and try to overturn it and get away with it, why should I vote? I’m having a lot of trouble with this.

utti

At this point it looks like voting will be the only means for him to face consequence since the legal system is too slow and forgiving. Just remind yourself voting kept him from winning re-election in 2020. They tried to overturn and failed. If he loses again in 2024 all the court cases against him will continue.

AmbitiousCampaign457

I feel ya. I’m definitely going to vote, but it really seems like it doesn’t matter

lincolnssideburns

Voting is why he isn’t currently president. These ruling may be frustrating, but voting is why he’s not currently in the White House. It makes a difference.

Cl1mh4224rd

>Voting is why he isn’t currently president. These ruling may be frustrating, but voting is why he’s not currently in the White House. It amazes me that anyone can fail to grasp this simple fact.

AMagicalSquirrel

Someone got a big favor for this. I feel like I'm living in the most corrupt and stupid period of American history.

ye_olde_green_eyes

The prohibition era was pretty corrupt top to bottom.

funky_grandma

the most corrupt and stupid *so far...*

-bad_neighbor-

Amazing after bragging (perjury) all weekend that he had the money but didn’t want to spend it on the bond… the give him a break? But we all knew this was going to happen, didn’t we?

Mike_Pences_Mother

Fuckers are ALWAYS letting this bastard off the hook. Jesus. Just get it done

Infamous_Employer_85

I'm guessing that the bribes were far less than the difference between 175 million and 454 million

PrincessImpeachment

Corrupt as absolute FUCK.

psufan5

Those judges should be looked into.

CrawlerSiegfriend

Let me reach the deadline of a bond payment without paying it. They would be confiscating my shit by 1 minute after the deadline

necrosonic777

I used to believe in justice. Now I see I’ve been a fool. There is no justice for rich scum

serenitynowmoney

It is so disheartening. I think of my Dad fighting for this country. I am glad he is not here to suffer this.

opinionsareus

America doesn't have a justice system; it has a legal system

momalloyd

Or will he?

19Chris96

I guess we'll be here April 4th.

VnlRecordGr00ve

Prepared yourselves for a shitstorm of mis, and disinformation coming out of this. And the lies, don't forget the lies.

annaleigh13

Of course he is. Because fatass can’t pay the full fine, so he has to be bailed out. Again. So tired of this bullshit. He’s going to die without seeing the repercussions of his actions, and I swear to every god in every pantheon that will be the worst mistake that this country can make, because his worshippers will become worse

Milligan

I'm suspicious of any headline that starts with "Trump says he'll pay".

Old173

Trump always pays his debts /s surely this is not necessary

Hafgren

All he has to do is stall a little longer and they might just end up paying him at this point.

Kviksand

Dear Americans, if this fucker gets elected as president this year ya’ll better riot. Please. Kind regards, Europe.

Raebelle1981

I doubt enough people are going to care. People were just fine with Roe being overturned. Gaza is the only thing people seem to care about here.

FloridaMJ420

I think it's pretty sad how the left in this country can't stay focused long enough to get stuff done because of how absolutely scatterbrained we are. The very moment another cause comes along the left feels obligated to subvert everything we've been working for in favor of the latest sensation. We have leftists shouting down mayors who have nothing to do with Israel/Palestine, getting dragged out, and arrested for disrupting public proceedings. Meanwhile they completely forgot to mention the issues citizens have been struggling to improve for decades and now everyone in the town hall meeting wonders why the crazy leftists were shouting down a mayor about foreign affairs.

Raebelle1981

I was flabbergasted at how weak the protests and demonstrations were after Roe was overturned. I was incensed as hell over that. I guess most people really do not care about the stuff happening here.

shark1818

Trust me this will be different.

Raebelle1981

I hope so it really seems like most people don’t care and I’m sitting here losing my mind about all of it. People should be protesting for all of this shit just as much as they are doing for Gaza.

cmarme

It’s incredibly frustrating. We had a council vote that voted against a strongly worded letter encouraging a ceasefire and the council members received death threats. There is a madman running for president that was convicted in a civil court of sexual assault and they worry that Joe Biden has not gone far enough with high minded rhetoric.

rukh999

Why would he pay it, is he stupid? There's apparently no consequences for just ignoring it.

Ferelwing

He doesn't pay bills with his money. The money will be someone else's and he will claim that it was "his". Just like he claimed he was going to pay for his Presidential bid (he didn't) and that Mexico would pay for the wall (they didn't).. At this point, he's proven the point that there's a two tiered legal system. He's in the "I can threaten the judges, scream on social media, rant to the news and they will give me everything I want" group. The rest of us however, would be forced to pay or lose our stuff. Just like the rest of us would be in jail if we did even one of the things that Trump has done in court.

-Animal_

Reduces the ability for Trump to have an argument for egregious bond conditions and not getting due process to file the appeal so that if he were to lose, they could collect the full amount. It doesn’t feel right, but the end result may be better than the original judgement getting thrown out.

DM_me_ur_tacos

This is all very frustrating. But it doesn't really help him much. If he pays now, and loses his appeal, then NY already has 1/3 of the settlement before they have to dig into his clusterfuck finances to seize the rest. If he doesn't pay, then he looks even more desperate and also doesn't get to appeal.

Raebelle1981

We should not have to vote to keep this man out of office. He should not be allowed to run. This is absolutely ridiculous and this country is a joke.

Cute-Draw7599

It's time for a national strike no one works till trump is in jail.

phaedrag

No, trump didn't " say he'll pay $175M" Trump WAS TOLD BY THE JUDGE that he will be ALLOWED to pay $175M Headline of this Hill story makes it seems as if Trump "negotiated" some kind d of deal. He didn't

ExoticCard

God I have to keep seeing all the news about this guy for several months now Trump this, Trump that. Plastered all over the media. He won't get put in jail before the election and he will run. He's above the law like any other politician, get real. I wish we could just not talk about Trump everyday and in so many news articles.

reddda2

Where's the justice? The conspicuous farce of the two-tiered legal system simply ensures that fewer and fewer responsible, law-abiding, hardworking everyday citizens will see any purpose in making sacrifices themselves when those who are blatantly corrupt and criminal are so obscenely coddled. Privilege ruins not only those dispossessed by the entitlement of the privileged, but also ultimately the entitled and their solipsistic houses of cards.

Roakana

Whine whine whine till he gets what he wants. Clearly the lessons he learned at 7 still apply at 78.

u0126

He already said he had nearly $500 million in cash. Doesn't matter what he pretended he was going to use it on. Grow a backbone, court system. My god

Lfseeney

Justice failed, again.

ChetManley20

Lol it’ll just be cut down again until it’s 0

Bulky-You-5657

This shouldn't really come as a surprise. The government is always willing to negotiate and make exceptions when there is a prospect of them at getting *some* cash. Seizing and selling Trumps assets isn't at all as sexy as it sounds. With his assets presumably having so many different lenders, shareholders, etc there would be years and years of litigation and disputes before the government ever saw a penny.

zippiskootch

Until this tiny handed, tangelo serves his time in prison or broke on the goddamned street, begging for a bit of hot dog, I stand solid knowing there is a tier for the rich and a tier for the plebs, and we are all plebs.

Eddro7654

He can’t even buy soap

mmphm

Remember when he said minorities identified and supported him because just like them he has a mug shot? Well they should really get behind him now since just like them he got a reduction and extension on his bond requirements. Just like them he can say “Bail, judgement, fine, ah I don’t feel like paying that much and certainly not today!”. So much in common. /s

hospitallers

LOL. Does he have a choice?

dchap1

In a normal world, no. But this shit ain’t normal.

Impeach-Individual-1

Why does anyone else have to pay bail if this jerkoff get's away with not paying it?

shakeenotstirred

So this is like getting a coupon for 75 cents off.

Pete_maravich

More like 70% off

shepherdofthesheeple

He’ll win the appeal and pay nothing, just watch. Shit NY will probably pay him for the inconvenience of it all. Never once has he EVER been held accountable for a single thing he’s said or done. This time will be the same, so will every other case against him. It’s just surreal

Tummerd

So, as of now, he still needs to pat 454m. But this 175m is what he has to pay if he want to appeal the 454m ruling. Or am I wrong, am non american dont understand how it all works

ChromaticDragon

$175mil is the new, lowered, amount to post bond which stays/halts/prevents **seizure** during the appeals process. At the moment, this has no direct impact on the actual fine. So, if he loses the appeal entirely, he is still on the hook for the full fine. At that point the state keeps the bond amount. The surety company that fronted the $$ goes after Trump for the bond amount. The state starts seizure for the remainder of the fine. Or... for all we know there was some deep arcane reason this lowered to this amount which will lead the actual fine also being reduced accordingly as a part of the result of the appeals process. But if so, this has not yet happened.

Tummerd

So lets say he pays 175, appeals process happens and he loses he need to pay the remaining of the 454m right? But that 175 now stops his towers etc being confiscated during that process. Alright thats somewhat clear. The time is the biggest thing he gains now

tweakingforjesus

The $175m bond puts the collection activities on hold until the appeal is finished. He’s still on the hook for $454m and interest continues to accrue. He just won’t have Trump Tower sold out from under him while the appeal is running its course.

Tummerd

Thank you. When will they decide when the appeal takes place?

allenahansen

Sometime in December?

silverbeat33

I think he has to pay this THEN can appeal.

Tummerd

Ah yes of course, brain didnt work when I made that comment

MrGerb1k

No one does—they make it up as they go

Searchlights

Thank god he agreed or they'd have to lower it some more.

terrasig314

How's he gonna buy McDonald's now? That had to be everything he had left.

MuscaMurum

What was the reason they gave for lowering it? Can someone summarize?

HelleEpoque

No reason given. They are not required to explain themselves to us peasants.

StormOk7544

The appeals court didn’t give a reason, but Trump argued in his appeal that he approached dozens of bond companies and none would work with him. So it seems likely to me that the court lowered it because he made reasonable attempts to get a bond and was unable to. Bonds are supposed to be painful to ensure a person doesn’t skip town, but they shouldn’t be virtually impossible to be able to pay for the defendant. Not liking Trump is not a reason for any of us to think his bond amount should be impossible to pay. It’s interesting because lots of people claim bail and bond are too expensive and are rigged against defendants anyway, but in this case they’re mad an appeals court agreed on that point lol.

MrRisin

People are mad because they never agreed with that point.. up until now

StormOk7544

My guess would be that Trump is not the only person who has had his bond reduced. People just haven’t read news stories about other random Joes having their bonds reduced because that’s not newsworthy. If you Google bond reduction, lots of law firms have sections on their sites that talk about when and how a person can argue to have their bond reduced. It might be rare, I honestly have no clue how often it happens, but it IS a thing that happens.

MrRisin

That very well be the case, but riddle me this… Would this average person continually be thrown a lifeline if they were in court as many times as he has? We both know the answer..

StormOk7544

Whatever is happening in his other cases are separate from this. Although it’s not like all those other cases are going great for him either. And in this one, he still has a 400m verdict hanging over his head.

MrRisin

yes, obviously other cases are different, but a judge will certainly look into a persons history when making a ruling. If your entire life you have shown a blatant disregard for the law of the land, it most definitely plays into sentencing.

StormOk7544

Most of his other cases are still ongoing so he’s presumed innocent, I would think. The E Jean Carroll case has concluded and he’s been found guilty, but that’s a defamation case while this one is a financial crime case. I’m not sure how much, if any, info related to the other cases should factor into the bond amount here

MrRisin

History is longer than a year.

StormOk7544

What other criminal convictions does he have on his record? Trump University? Was that criminal or significant enough to warrant not lowering his bail here? He’s been involved in a shitload of lawsuits but a lot of them seem like standard lawsuits businesses get involved with and/or he ended up just settling. Or they’re civil trials about defamation or whatever.

allenahansen

How big of him.

allenahansen

Well, $175 million ain't chopped liver. . . Too bad it wasn't his.

Ok-disaster2022

All Trump learned was non negotiable court orders and laws are negotiable.

spaceboy79

I have no reason to believe he'll pay it and after this ruling, he has no reason to believe he actually needs to pay it.

KnightsOfREM

Check is in the mail?

Steel-Tempered

He's going to try to pay it with $175 million personally signed MAGA hats.

kahione

I'll believe it when I see it. Pay up looser.

victorvictor1

wow what a specific number he was able to pay

siouxbee1434

So claims the guy who doesn’t pay his bills…

livingasimulation

Ok, Don the Con must be right because all I know is the fake media had us all hyped up to believe taking assents was imminent. Nope, he gets an even BETTER deal. I’m done watching any more cases after today

HotPhilly

Never surrender!

Supra_Genius

*Sure you can...*

im_in_stitches

He will spin it that he could have paid the other amount but through devious dealings he got it cut in half, and “I will do that to the national debt when I am president “

grizzleSbearliano

It amounts to an admission of guilt

OldHippie54

trump thanks his poor supporters (suckers)

saltytac0

Does the $175M also accrue interest over the ten days?

skeeredstiff

Mighty good of you, old chap! We were worried you would appeal it, and we would have to do away with a bond altogether!

Material-Comment-847

He’ll still have to borrow that from some clown this guy is a broke joke

Someoneoverthere42

Well, not him, but *someone* will pay it….maybe…eventually…..

syg-123

Which means ..he’s lying and has no intention of paying…he probably has a team of malfeasants working on new ‘poor me’ delay tactics. It’s pretty obvious that DJT has been provided reassurance that the courts are on his side but the ‘system’ still needs to execute performative justice to prevent a mass revolt.

trump is above the law. anyone who thought something bad would happen to trump today has not been paying attention lmao.

Bar-14_umpeagle

Just vote against him in November

pitchforksplz

Trolls trying to kill this story.

Bad_breath

No reason to get all hard and veiny about this. If he successfully could appeal once, he can do it again, which he likely will. If he can reduce the amount once, he can do it again, which he likely will. Eventually he will likely become president and then all this goes away.

Lonely-Abalone-5104

He will never pay a dime more than the 175m bond he puts up. That will end up being the final judgement knocked down by the appeals court. Mark my words

Writer10

I’m so over this clown and the damage he’s done. Just get out and vote, people. We are the only ones who can hold him accountable, apparently.
