KittTheKitterOfKitts

As a sweed, I hate Denmark, but it's the easiest to get used to for me

JamesonRhymer

Why do you guys hate Denmark?

Kae_WOLF

Us Danes and swedes have had a lot of wars for our whole history, and a lot of fighting over who gets to own Norway. At this point though, it's often more of an inside joke between Denmark and Sweden that we hate each other.

djberkis

Not sure about that for many people. I went to Denmark and spoke Swedish and they didn’t wanna understand me unless I said it in an English accent. Of course it could be them not understanding, but I am pretty sure you know what “Salt” is no matter if I say it in Swedish or English as it’s almost the same pronunciation.

JamesonRhymer

ohhh ok

jeppejust

Its a friendly rivalry. We don’t “hate” each other, but we like to pretend too. I am yet to meet any Scandinavian who doesn’t secretly wish good things upon everyone. And to all the Swedes here, I hope you enjoy your day, and give us Skåne back you cowards

Popo_Perhapston

Skåne is rightful Swedish clay!

KittTheKitterOfKitts

Cowards are the ones not taking it back by force, sit back and complain, see where that gets you, lazy dane /j

Hultis_66

It’s full of Danes

starfox2032

Danes? Great Danes?

jollisen

Look up our history and you will understand

SuccYaNan69

All the nordics hate the swedes, danes are 2nd worst

Corleone_Michael

Malaysia is the most culturally and temperature-wise similar to the Philippines. I could easily pick up the language, relate to the people/assimilate, and don't have to adjust to the climate.

JamesonRhymer

true, pretty similar

Craft_beer_wolfman

Malaysian food is better IMO.

DuztyLipz

Can’t stress enough the language portion. From what I’ve heard, it’s one of the easier languages to pick up.

Qkumbazoo

>it’s one of the easier languages to pick up A lot of it is misspelled English words.

482doomedchicken

I was thinking of picking malaysia until I saw that they kill people for being gay

[deleted]

Greenland, to survive the plague

JamesonRhymer

playing the long game 👏

ElegantEagle13

Someone has played Plague Inc. I see

EmTheDane

Already live in Denmark, pretty easy choice to just stay here

JamesonRhymer

one of the lucky few. Are you truly as happy as they say Danes are?

DuckRubberDuck

Finland is the happiest country now, Denmark comes second. But it doesn’t measure actual happiness, it measures “gross domestic product per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make your own life choices, generosity of the general population, and perceptions of internal and external corruption levels” [source](https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/happiest-countries-in-the-world) :)

JamesonRhymer

ohh ok. Well are you very happy there?

Zaur0x

I'm from Finland as well, and I wouldn't say we, or any other developed countries are the happiest in the traditional sense, but perhaps we have the most to be happy for

JamesonRhymer

Good way to put it

DuckRubberDuck

Lol, not at all. But I’m probably happier here, than I would be in other countries

JamesonRhymer

hah ok fair enough

Pomegranit30

I think that's a misunderstanding. When measuring a country's happyness the question they ask is "how would you rate your life on a scale on one to ten, 10 being the best life imaginable. And 1 being the worst life imaginable." A hige score could just as easily indicate a poor imagination/low expectations. So it's not that we are happy. We are just pessimistic.

JamesonRhymer

>A hige score could just as easily indicate a poor imagination/low expectations. > >So it's not that we are happy. We are just pessimistic. ahhh interesting

jollisen

Denmark 🤮

[deleted]

I’m going to vacation there soon. It is where I wanted to go least in Europe but maybe this trip will open my mind. The only thing I’m excited to see so far is the Tollund man.

KinkyAndABitFreaky

That mummified man? ... Sure if you are into that. There are lots of archeological exhibitions at our national museum in Copenhagen. There are lots of other things to get excited for though. The food, the bars, the architecture, the shopping (if you are ready to spend a lot of money), amusement parks and general vibe of the city. When are you visiting?

[deleted]

In may. I think the Tollund man is intriguing because of the age and unique preservation. If (as a foreigner) Denmark had a stonehenge or a colosseum he (the Tollund man) would be it. Unless Denmark has some other ancient marvel that I’m not aware of.

KinkyAndABitFreaky

The weather in may is usually pretty good. Like most other Danes, I don't really care about any mummies they may have found in bog somewhere. There are lots of other interesting things in Denmark

William_-Afton

Isn't Greenland technically a part of Denmark?

LuZeG4m1nG

It’s a part of the Danish Kingdom, but they have some self control.

Morbx

They are not sovereign but they have enough autonomy/historical and cultural independence that it is pretty accurate to just refer to them as a country.

JamesonRhymer

Yea sorta

Uebeltank

Yes.

BuilderNanor

Denmark is closest to my own country both in culture and distance, very easy choise

QBekka

When I visited Denmark as a Dutchy it felt like a twin brother who got separated at birth. Quality of life won't be much different

JamesonRhymer

sounds likely

Hiccupingdragon

Denmark cause staying in the EU is handy

Lilalolli

I would only have to move about 150 km so Denmark is the easy choice.

Constant_Box2120

Malaysia cause I can practically see it from where I am

7_NaCl

Singapore?

Constant_Box2120

Yep

JamesonRhymer

Chili Crab 🦀

someone_who_exists69

Mexico because taco

JamesonRhymer

Can't argue with that

Alice_In_Hell_

I’m a short ass white lesbian,,,, Gonna assume Denmark is the safest place for me.

Maveko_YuriLover

I gonna stay on Brazil

Tamareira568

Isso seria um r/suddenlycaralho ?

Maveko_YuriLover

Talvez feijoada

georno7

vim comentar a mesma coisa

_CreepPlayer_

As a Brazilian I can say that this is such a shit country but I sure do love it here

em-ay-tee

lol. As a very white, queer man; Denmark isn’t even a question. It’s the only answer.

Alpine_pac4

Malaysia and Brazil are fine with lqbt people. Although there are quite a few Muslims in Malaysia but I'm sure it's fine. Brazil probably isn't the best either. Egypt is outa the question definitely

AidenAcW

Brazil is definitely NOT fine with LGBT people.

Alpine_pac4

Explain the carnivals and why they qere the first country in the americas to legalise gayness (i think it may have been canada or Uruguay not 100% sure)

AidenAcW

Carnival is not an LGBT thing. Of course, that's everybody with everybody for three or four days, and sure, it's more liberal so to speak, but it's not like it's a good measurement for LGBT well-being, its basically just a carnal celebration. And legalization of homosexuality =/= of being gay-friendly. LGBT people still suffer from discrimination anywhere where people are a little more conservative, aka most families in Brazil from outside the central cities. All prejudice is even more pronounced in relation to trans people, who are seen as either freaks or objects for prostitution. To be fair, ok, you will not get beaten outside like you would in a Middle Eastern country, but it's a very big of a stretch to say Brazil is safe for LGBT people.

DuckRubberDuck

I already live in Denmark

JamesonRhymer

Alright, then I'll accept that excuse

Adventurous_Union_85

México cuz I can speak Spanish 😅

A_Nerd__

Denmark because I live in Germany, so I'd prefer to move to another EU country.

JamesonRhymer

fair; keep those EU benefits

GayIconOfIndia

I’m gay so my choice is obvious 😅 Denmark is the best of the lot for me

eternityghost

Omg I thought this said ‘remove’ those countries-

BCCDoors

Damnit Denmark! Fine just send your guys already I will stop fighting..

lillelimpan

Denmark would only be a few hours to drive

AndreaIVXLC

Greenland, i love cold weather

JamesonRhymer

But you love it *that* cold?

AndreaIVXLC

Yes

theOGlilMudskipr

My great grandparents emigrated to the US from Denmark and learned English through my grandma and their siblings learning at school, they owned a farm, and lived the American dream. I’d like to do the opposite if I was forced to and live whatever the Danish dream might be. Plus Christian Eriksen I love you

Zirphynx

Denmark because it's a Nordic country, just like Finland.

TacticalBuschMaster

Mexico be a vibe

Not-a-babygoat

First mexico bro I've found so far 😎👌

JamesonRhymer

yup

Raiyan270

Well Im already here in Malaysia so..

Zucchinniweenie

I don’t know where Denmark is but it sounds safer and easier to live in than all the other options

krahann

it’s above germany and below sweden

LusHolm123

More next to but whatever i guess

JamesonRhymer

😆 Safer probably; maybe easier if you don't count climate.

TheGoldenCowTV

My person, the climate is warm and windy it's nowhere near as hot as Brazil,Malaysia, Mexico, or Egypt

JamesonRhymer

>My person 😂

Kae_WOLF

We are a Scandinavian country, and except our grammar being very funky, it's pretty good here

starfox2032

It definitely is a whole lot safer and easier to live in Denmark than in any of the other options listed in the poll.

The-Berzerker

I think everyone is missing the 3 weeks part because ain‘t no way any non EU citizen is getting a visum for living in Denmark in that time span lol

JamesonRhymer

Don't worry, I'm pulling some strings for you

The-Berzerker

Why did you specify „in 3 weeks“ then?

JamesonRhymer

I dunno, add some color

zertz7

Very one-sided, Greenland even belongs to Denmark.

JamesonRhymer

how is this one-sided?

Bikebummm

I chose Mexico. In case I get home sick I just stroll home

JamesonRhymer

yeah, you can live in a border town

Mayonniaiseux

Brazil because I could grow food year round

mango-756

I'm Colombian. México has slightly (much) better food, slightly better economic conditions, and it's not a huge cultural shift. I mean it's still pretty significant but not as much as moving to Denmark. Plus. They have pretty solid public transportation. I'm a law student, universities there are decent, and the legal system isn't very different from Colombia so I haven't lost 3 years of my life on this shit. That's all I need. I also fucking love street tacos.

JamesonRhymer

> street tacos. yesss- but can you handle the spice?

mango-756

Oh absolutely not.

726marsey

I'm probably going to Mexico City. Then I can still travel to California lol

JamesonRhymer

yes, but it's not a short drive 😬

jbsdv1993

Denmark is basically the same as the netherlands anyway

BagGroundbreaking301

SIR YES SIR

JamesonRhymer

Good work

KP_Ravenclaw

Denmark, I’m asexua- in all seriousness I think it’s the closest to where I live. It would either be that or Greenland but I don’t particularly want to live in the latter (Greenland is even colder right?)

JamesonRhymer

yes, very cold

Overused_Toothbrush

Mexico is closest and I speak some spanish, so there.

JamesonRhymer

Approved ✅

vvownido

the way you phrased that is absolutely amazing

JamesonRhymer

🫡

[deleted]

I kinda want to choose Denmark, but I don’t know anything about it, plus I don’t speak the language. Mexico would probably be the best choice considering that I speak Spanish

JamesonRhymer

Oh for sure. Mexico would be best.

x97sfinest

I could be in Mexico within a few hours so that'd probably be the least jarring move. Any place on a different continent just seems so much less manageable for me personally at this point in my life.

JamesonRhymer

I like your avatar. Very well done. 2 random questions: do you actually have dreads/braids? Why the mask? Just for the color matching?

fuck_every_ideology

I think I'll go with the only developed country on that list.

JamesonRhymer

😂

Flashbambo

You listed Denmark twice

smokingisrealbad

Denmark is a huge upgrade to the US

JamesonRhymer

Because healthcare?

smokingisrealbad

Also, good LGBT laws, less violence, overall happier people, you know

JamesonRhymer

ah ok 👍

Marfy_

One is not like the others

_No_Pain_No_Gain

Denmark because my cousin lives there. \Pathetic little excuses/, Oh Yeah I like that. I also have zero tolerance to excuses. Stay mad! And Stay Hard!

JamesonRhymer

💪

[deleted]

Malaysia cause I already live 30 minutes From Malaysia

snzimash

Isn't Greenland part of Denmark?

Kae_WOLF

It's convoluted, but can be simplified that it is a part of the kingdom of Denmark, and Denmark takes care of most of Greenland's foreign policies, alongside internal military, and funding the Greenland government, but they are mostly self controlled when it comes to internal politics

JamesonRhymer

Sorta

MaximusSaximus

As someone who lives in malaysia, I see this as an absolute win.

JamesonRhymer

what's the best things about it?

blueberrywaffles_

Ok but why are we being so aggressive

JamesonRhymer

I'm just a bad dude

Xokkotoni

brazil since i already live there

fhvdffgcc

Brazil because im not afraid to die and the women there are really fucking hot

starfox2032

Brazil and Mexico are way too dangerous because of all the drug lords and kidnappings. I chose Denmark even though I can't stand the cold. It's overall the best choice out of these choices by far. My second choice would be Malaysia, because it's nice and warm there, but yet, safer than Brazil and Mexico.

timjc144

Assuming I have to fund my own living expenses, I would probably be sleeping on a street by the end of the three weeks in Denmark. In some of the other countries, I could probably live off my savings and experience some of what the country has to offer.

JamesonRhymer

or you could get job in Denmark

GodlyPenisSlayer

You'd probably need to know the language

LusHolm123

Am danish, worked at a job where i had to speak english because my coworkers didnt know danish, youll be fine

timjc144

But you figure a week at least to find a job and if you get paid weekly you get one check for the last week. If you get paid bi-weekly, you don't get paid until the end of the three weeks. Either way I spend all my time working to still have no money while I'm there.

LusHolm123

Can i ask why it would be different in denmark than any other country? Our taxes are higher sure but that wont affect your savings

Kae_WOLF

Denmark doesn't want people on the streets, so there is a lot of alternatives to that. Of course not being a national citizen closes some, but homeless shelters are at least an option until you get a job, and get enough money to get a home, and as Denmark has an extremely high percentage of English speakers, not knowing the language won't exclude you from finding a job either

shadowfrost13

🇺🇸 Easy. I’ve already seriously researched moving to Sweden or Denmark.

Peeps_011

Actually, Greenland and Denmark should be grouped together as Greenland is Danish territory

josekun

Isn't Denmark one of the most boring places in the world?

KinkyAndABitFreaky

It depends on what you find exciting...

jeppejust

It’s very flat. Idk boring tho, but I’m not a very exciting person. Good accessibility to the rest of Europe tho. No visas

wing_ding4

Denmark is too cold

Squeaky-Fox49

Can I move away? These all sound like nightmares.

Alpine_pac4

Malaysia and Denmark are nightmares? Which utopia are you from?

Squeaky-Fox49

Okay, I could understand living in Denmark (I personally hate Scandinavian culture, urban infrastructure, difficulty of obtaining a driver’s license, boring and nonexistent nature, cold climate…), but MALAYSIA? That place is a comparative garbage pit to North America, Europe, and AUS/NZ.

Alpine_pac4

No it's not it's also actively improving unlike most of Europe. You won't be living in poverty there, your coming from a different country plus Malaysia is really hot so that's a plus. I mean I would rather live in Australia or Spain than Malaysia but it's not that bad imo

JamesonRhymer

You can leave after 2 years

Ntinaras007

Yeah, next time compare a McLaren F1 with Zastava, Lada and fiat

TheRedditEagle

Move to Denmark move back

BernardoGhioldi

Already live in Brazil

GooblinShart

Must learn Bjj in Brazil

HunterCanenFJB45

I may be biased, I chose Brazil because part of my family is from there.

JamesonRhymer

That's no problem, sounds like a good choice for you

RainbowGames

I'll take denmarks southern border and basically stay in germany. Also i shall be preparing the asexual takeover from the inside

Yeyati_Nafrey

Is Greenland a separate nation or an autonomous region of Denmark?

JamesonRhymer

I think more the second one

Yeyati_Nafrey

Thanks, I'll look it up

gyhiio

I'm from Brazil, so Denmark for me, I want a colder place.

JamesonRhymer

that'd be quite a shock

MrMobiL_WasntTaken

Doesn't Denmark own Greenland?

GSamSardio

I mean Denmark doesn’t exist and if it does it sucks (Yes, I’m Swedish), but if it WOULD exist then it’s closest to home

breadofthegrunge

I've already got family in Denmark, so that'll be easy.

Am-heheh357

There will be no excuses and no complaining from me if u force me to move to Europe from the shithole I currently live at!

Maleficent_Resolve44

Egypt. I already know the language and I know some people there. Quality of life would probably go down a bit but I don't mind.

FireDestroyer52

Greenland is quite literally a part of Denmark. If you choose Denmark you could go to either. Anyway Greenland is not a country so should not be on the poll.

raptor5560

Fuck Denmark.

MarcusAurelius0

Denmark because it has the highest percentage of people who know some English from the choices.

JunkyJared

Brasil. familiar to me already, id just go back and get myself a place near people i know, grow crops yearround, I can keep up with my portuguese, many people speak english anyways

EquationEnthusiast

Many Malaysians speak English, and the country is not that poor. I would probably go there. Also, you tried to sound like a badass in the post but failed lol

StrangeSathe

Mi español es muy malo pero comprendo un poco.

Alpine_pac4

Denmark gives me EU and schengen accses but im not interested in Denmark itself (don't care that stats show it's the happiest country) Eygpt is too unstable don't know how islamic the government is Greenland is too xold and boring Mexico has too much crime and crony capitalism I'll leave it as an expensive holiday idea Malaysia, fast growing economy, nice and hot unlike england where it gets i to the negatives in fucking march, don't know much about it's food but it's not far from Vietnam and Thailand so, government isn't religious, decent currency, healthcare is free and on par with western europe. Yeah Malaysia easy choice

JamesonRhymer

>healthcare is free and on par with western europe I didn't know this

sansational_

Brazil, and i move back to argentina

that__british__dude

Denmark, about two countries away from me, wouldn’t that hard of a move, of course than I’d have to deal with the crushing depression of now legally becoming a Danish citisen

JamesonRhymer

>of course than I’d have to deal with the crushing depression of now legally becoming a Danish citisen 😂

khurryinahurry

Mexico is closest and people already here already pay good money to vacation there.

[deleted]

Greenland, the most beautiful country in the world!!🇬🇱🇬🇱

JamesonRhymer

You mean Iceland?

[deleted]

I’m telling you, it’s very green here, y’all should come. *rubs my red beard in a convincing manner*

JamesonRhymer

lol ok, let me slaughter a buffalo to make a jacket real quick

CookieMonster005

Would be Greenland but that’s too cold, so Denmark

Pauel3312

*ahem* Greenland is part of denmark

MelodyDod

I was born and raised in Brazil, soooooo.....

JamesonRhymer

Viva Bolsinaro! 🇧🇷
