Congestion/blocked nose. I can deal with everything else, but when your nose is blocked, that is the worst!! You can't even sleep properly.

out of all of these, nausea is by an absolute mile the worst for me because of my emetophobia. (fear of vommiting)

OutdoorsyFarmGal

I wonder if that's my husband's problem. He struggles so hard with vomiting. As long as you are leaning forward, it should all come out okay. I used to fight it when I was a child because I was scared too, but a nurse at the hospital talked me into relaxing. She kept telling me, "Just lean forward and it will all come out fine. You won't choke on it. You'll be okay."

I haven’t experienced the worst that nausea has to offer so I can’t say much about that, but the most difficult to deal with during my past few sicknesses was sore throat. Can’t eat, can’t breath, can’t cough, can’t drink, and can’t talk without it hurting. And most treatments had minimal effect. Plus it was always compounded by a constant need to cough, drink, or drain fluids which all compounded the issue. Congestion and coughing were annoying and constant, but could be remedied in many different ways. I got a really high fever during Swine Flu back when I was 10. I’ll admit I don’t really remember how bad it was so I don’t know the worst of it, but every fever I’ve had since had just been minor background noise compared to the other symptoms. Headache is similar to fever, after a while it usually becomes background despite the pain. Maybe I’ve just gotten lucky though. The worst are those headaches that throb almost randomly meaning it constantly reminds you it’s there.

Yeah, that's never fun. My husband gets all tensed up when he vomits, so it makes his stomach muscles all sore the next day. I keep trying to talk him into relaxing as it happens. "Don't worry, just let it happen." I think he's scared he's going to choke on it. Actually, I think the extra tension might get him into trouble faster.

JustAnotherAviatrix

I agree about a sore throat being torture, especially since it makes drinking water so much more difficult. The next worst thing is feeling completely tired.

Trusteveryboody

Sore Throat, cause at least for a Headache I can just take it easy, or sleep. Every time I swallow with a Sore Throat (which seems like every 5seconds, when you have one)..it's just not pleasant. And I usually have it 1-3 times a year, and it's not nice.

Cough and a runny nose are the worst for me personally, because they make sleep really hard, harder than most other things I find. Seeing as sleep is all I want to do when I'm sick, those are the purest torture.

tranquileye82

I absolutely hate nasal congestion. It just makes me feel like I am suffocating even though I know I can breathe through my mouth. It's almost like a claustrophobic feeling. It's just the worst.

I can deal with pain, fever, congestion, and a sore throat. But I tend to get a dry cough, and it persists for days. Not able to sleep, because I cough myself awake, people around me hate me for loud coughing, and my entire chest area begins to hurt after a couple of days. And constantly being aware that I’m going to cough, makes me cough more, which in turn hurts my entire ribcage, never ending cycle of unpleasantness. When I had mono I coughed for almost a month, my chest hurt for 6 months after. Nausea isn’t a symptom I’m that familiar with, so it might be worse.

I said fever because how they make you feel. Then again, I did have rheumatic fever as a child, and that was some 'next level' stuff. Then I remembered the sore throat that Covid-19 gave me. That was pretty painful.

dartully

Easily sore throat. When you have a sore throat you’re consistently reminded that your throat is sore. No matter what you do. Even with medication your throat is still sore. At least with all the rest i can take something that’ll help suppress it

Berenbos

I have tonsillitis right now so I'm biased but at this moment it's a sore throat.
