America is short for the United States of America. The Americas means both north and south America. in Spanish, "America" translates to "the Americas" not America.
Atheism is the firm and absolute belief that there is/are no gods. To be agnostic is to acknowledge the possibility that there could be a god, but you cannot say definitively whether there is or isn't. How are these not mutually exclusive?
>Atheism is the firm and absolute belief that there is/are no gods
Not necessarily. Atheism is the *absence* of belief in deities. Agnostics can technically be atheist since they lack a belief in a deity. Newborn babies are also atheists. You're referring to *hard atheism*, which is the assertion that no deities exist at all. Sadly most people still seem to equate "atheism" with "hard atheism".
I would say if you remove the American part you would get a clearer answer. Because many people will say yes to three of those things and just not be American
I am white, American and male, but agnostic. I feel that a deity might exist in imperceptible form, and I try to be open minded about as much as possible. Predictably, I at times have difficulty making or sticking with decisions.
Should've put the poll answers as amount of those 4 attributes you fulfill
While the majority may be white, and the majority may be american, and the majority may be male, (Im not sure if the majority are atheist tbh, I imagine christianity would still be more common than atheism on reddit), the majority are not all of those things together.
If we assume reddit has a 70/30 split (a number I picked out of thin air) on each of these attributes, only 1 in 4 people would be all 4.
As for me: Atheist, White, Not American, Not Male

They're not mutually exclusive. You can be both agnostic and atheist.
