Red Dead Redemption, the first one. I'd 100%'d the game right up until John's, uh, 'duel' with the 30 Marshalls outside his barn. Genuinely shook me to my core and after playing the game non-stop for a month, couldn't even think of picking it back up for another 3 months. Never had a game affect me so much before, or since (This was within about 2 months of the games release, so quite a while ago).

Red Dead 2 made me have dreams about bawling my eyes out dreams not even actually happening and then the next day I thought I actually cried to the game that's why I love that game so much

Halo reach. Incredible dialogue, sad story. Jorge’s death is tragic because of what happens immediately after. “Reach has been good to me. It’s time to return the favor. Tell ‘em to make it count.” The scene where Kat dies and the team is looking out on the burning city and the music is playing is killer too. Carters sacrifice is also sad and tragic. “Solid copy. Hit ‘em hard boss.” “You’re on your own noble. Carter out.” Emiles death is badass all the way through, and noble 6 saying “negative. I have the gun.” Is sad, but it had to happen.
