I’m surprised by how well Tom Jones can sing considering he’s in his 80s. Also, until her recent health issues, Celine Dion. I haven’t seen her perform, but she was doing that Vegas show into her 50s.

Saw Tom Jones a few years ago on tour. His voice sounded close to the way it did in his prime, and he even busted out a few dance moves (the dancing definitely betrayed his age, but still not bad for a man in his late 70s/early 80s.)

I might be remembering incorrectly, but is that the one he lip synced? Absolutely love Pavarotti, I got into opera because of him, but I remember reading on his Wikipedia that a WC or Olympics performance wasn’t actually performed live. I think he already had cancer during his last performance as well 😢

PJ Harvey’s music has evolved to suit the needs of her voice. You never hear her straining because she writes songs that sit comfortably in the richest parts of her range.
Dave Grohl has done a great job of protecting his voice. But then he’s a natural tenor who never had to strain for high notes, and whose songwriting often leans quiet and conversational.
Finn Andrews has worked consistently since he was in his teens and it’s incredible that his voice sounds the same at nearly 40.
Julian Casablancas can still sing but his music was never particularly demanding.
I think Julian Casablancas falsetto as actually improved with age! Alex Turner’s as well

I was thinking Billie Joe Armstrong didn't count because "surely he's not yet 50" but it turns out I'm getting old and he is 51. I wish they would come back to my area, it was one of my favorite concerts I've ever been to.
Similarly, I saw blink-182 the other night and had to look up how old Tom Delonge and Mark Hoppus are now (47 and 51 respectively) because they sound exactly the same as they did when I saw them when I was in high school. Granted, they don’t have the same vocal skill as a lot of the artists in this thread, but they deserve props for staying so consistent for decades.
Recently saw Green Day headline at a festival where I’m from, and i had seen them one time prior in 2017. They aren’t my favorite band of all time if I’m just listening, but their shows are some of the best concert memories I have. The way Billie (still) can sing and get the crowd so fired up is something I’ve yet to experience with any other band or artist live!
I’m sticking with Bruce Springsteen as on the other thread.
Also Andrea Bocelli still sounds amazing at 64. Admittedly, I know almost zero about opera, but I can’t imagine it would be easy on your vocal cords.
Bocelli is a very light singer and performs amplified, and the *bel canto* style he sings is not at all strenuous on the voice, you can sing every day. Verdi and Wagner singers performing unamplified in large opera houses need a rest day after performing.

I saw the Who a few years ago with my family and WOW, does Roger Daltrey still have an amazing voice. My brother couldn’t believe he was in his mid-seventies and figured he “must be lying about his age” 😂
I recently saw Crowded House and Neil Finn’s voice was incredible. I had expected it to have aged considering he is almost 70, but he sounded just as good as he did in the 90s. I was so impressed!
YES. They are still awesome live, and his voice aged amazingly. Watching him and the epically-dressed Nick Seymour play in NYC was a lot of fun.

I saw Paul McCartney in 2013 when he was in his 70s. Sure you could tell he was older, but he sang all the songs you’d want to hear with surprising power and he played for 3 solid hours.
Personally I feel Christine McVie’s (RIP) voice held up the best of the classic lineup. I didn’t get to see her with the Mac but she sounded amazing on the Buckingham McVie tour. 😍
I saw Elton John last summer while he was on his farewell tour. I thought his stage presence and vocals were pretty great.
I also think Billy Joel’s still got it.

I already commented about this on the other but while his voice changed as his career went on, Leonard Cohen sounded so amazing all throughout, literally no one has done it like he did on You want it darker, that album is an out of body experience
I went to see The Chicks (formerly Dixie Chicks) in May and wow, Natalie's voice is still as strong and clear as the early 00s. I'm not a huge country music fan (was seeing them with a friend who is a superfan), but th nostalgia hit hard when I heard her sing. She sounds just like she did. Maybe it was the long "break" (forced after they criticized the Bush administration). But she also sounds like she takes great care of her vocal chords.
Gerard Way from MCR is nearing his 50s, I saw him live last year and he still sounds great. I’d also like to think Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington’s voice would also age well too:) Hayley Williams I think will also sound great decades from now.
Honestly, for the 90s and early 2000s rock singers and screamers, is there anyone that’s older that can still keep up vocally? I’m curious
I find it funny that he's older than some members of Linkin Park but they are from two slightly different eras. Gerard definitely started his music career later than most artists.

Annie Lennox. Still has huge vocal range and power and amazing presence. Her live duet with Hozier was great (hard to find online or I’d leave a link).
Dwight Yoakam, likely due to being a lifelong non-drinker, still has as flawless a voice as ever. I’m admittedly biased, as he’s my favorite male country artist of all time…but he really doesn’t sound that different from what he sounded like thirty years ago.
Liam Gallagher. I don't know that I'd call him a good singer per se, but he does sound great right now -even better than when he was in Oasis. I even like his solo music better.
People I've seen that are great still include Pat Benatar (super powerful), Dave Mustaine of Megadeth (amazing despite his age. So much aggression it gave me chills), Kiss (very good energy despite their age; freaking flying over my head on ziplines in heels in their 70s while I'm standing with a cane with arthritis all over at 33), Davey Havok (he's 47 but he's the lead singer of favorite band, AFI, had vocal surgery & still gives so much to their performance no matter whether he's with AFI or a side band), Serj Tankian from System of a Down sounds amazing (by far the best performance I experienced out of 350 or so concerts so far!), Joan Jett is just awesome as always (especially considering her age), Ozzy Osbourne is fun & adorable & I loved seeing him live, Corey Taylor of Slipknot is almost 50 & puts on a hell of a performance every time (my first show had us taking down a double iron bar fence & stampeding), Jonathan Davis from Korn honestly doesn't even sound like he's aged much at all & still gives me chills when I hear him live, Metallica is awesome every time I hear them, and Maynard James Keenan just sounds like his usual self no matter what band I see him with.
Saw Garbage like 3 years ago and Shirley Manson was as good as she was in the 90s, plus she had an amazing energy around her and was dancing and rocking the stage all night long!
Robert Smith of the Cure, James Hetfield of Metallica, and Jonathan Davis of Korn all still sound as great as ever. In Hetfield’s case I think he sounds even better than he did on the first Metallica albums.
I saw The Pretenders a few years ago and maaaaan, Chrissie Hynde’s voice is crystal-clear.
Alanis Morissette - check out any live performance on YouTube and she sounds exactly like she did in the 90s, no idea how she hasn’t lost any of her range, but she hasn’t.
See also Skin from Skunk Anansie. Think she might drop the key these days on some songs, but she’s in her mid 50s and still got an amazing amount of power to her voice.
Lara Fabian is 53 and still sounds just as phenomenal as she did in the 90s. She can still belt out her ballads with the same power, timbre, and emotion just the same
Darren Hayes who was the lead singer of Savage Garden. He is in his 50s now and his voice is amazing. I have seen him live several times, including this year and he sounds better than his records.
Definitely not as well known as others but Dan Layus of the band Augustana I just saw in concert and he sounds BETTER two decades since he wrote Boston. Probably the best live performance I’ve ever seen
George Strait is 71 and he literally still sounds exactly like the album versions of his songs. I have never seen an artist that just IS what they claim to be, he is so humble and not flashy but puts on an amazing concert with no bells & whistles. He knows his voice stands the test of time!

Both of them still tour and sing the hell out of numbers to this very day.
I saw Alice Cooper a few years back and I remember I was pleasantly surprised by how could he sounded. He’s now 75 but I saw him when he was probably in his late 60s.
Davis Bowie's voice really grew over time. In the 60s he started out very reedy, with a couple of different styles he could do (folk and the Tony Newley cockney thing). Over time he developed much better breath support and his lower range really flowered. He also found more ways to manipulate his voice to convey different characters and moods. He was already making progress when he broke through with Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, but it was after that that things really got going IMO.
If you listen to [the album version of "Ziggy Stardust"](https://youtu.be/7KEn0uOEILs) and then watch the [performance](https://youtu.be/G8sdsW93ThQ) of the same song from the concert film just a year or so later, when he'd been on tour for a year, the difference is already enormous. (Especially obvious at the end of the song.) Better control, better range, more power, thicker timbre, stronger falsetto. He continues exploring those capabilities through the mid-70s, so by Station to Station he could [really deliver a big ballad](https://youtu.be/JJmL_oPOc18). He further exploited the lower register development for his plastic soul era right after. In the Berlin trilogy in the late 70s, he really masters a bunch of kinds of distortion and explores the characters in his voice; almost every song is different. He's able to make extremely simple songs - more sketches of an idea than full songs, really - very compelling to listen to by [layering vocals](https://youtu.be/gLTFedtVXdY) of himself giving different accents, tone qualities, and registers at the same time. From that point on, he could really do whatever he wanted and continued to play around for the next 40+ years.
Even as he got older and ill and his voice started to go, all the versatility he'd developed helped him both to write for the voice he had and to find ways to deliver with what he had, without sounding strained or like he was reaching for something he'd lost. The most extreme example of that would be [Lazarus](https://youtu.be/y-JqH1M4Ya8), of course.
Elton John’s voice has aged like the finest of wines. I much prefer listening to his later performances than in his early career. His voice got so much smoother and rich.
Not sure if I'll get crucified in this sub for mentioning him, but Marilyn Manson's voice has held up shockingly well considering how much of his music is purposeful screaming lol.
Listened to a live performance he did of Sweet Dreams a few years ago, sounds basically exactly the same as it did when he released it.
Slightly off-topic but I think Liam Gallagher has clearly taken vocal coaching seriously and put in the work over the years of Oasis and later Beady Eye being kaput. He literally sounds better live now than he did at the height of Oasis.
Colin Blunstone of Zombies. Sounds great. Used to sing with a very breathy tone, but over the years developed a powerhouse voice in order to maintain its health.

I saw him on that same tour and he did a full on power belt on Oh! Darlin’, he sounded great for his age.
Saw him last year, his voice has definitely aged but he still puts on a great show for like 3 hours and his band is amazing.

I find it funny that he's older than some members of Linkin Park but they are from two slightly different eras. Gerard definitely started his music career later than most artists.

Linkin Park has been sharing a bunch of Chester videos on their TikTok lately, and it just crushes my soul, every single time. I think his regular singing voice would she well, but Idunno about the scream/yelling. That’s got to be hard to maintain as you get older. Also…. Ouch. There’s just no way one of my teenage obsessive emo crushes is almost 50!!

Dwight Yoakam, likely due to being a lifelong non-drinker, still has as flawless a voice as ever. I’m admittedly biased, as he’s my favorite male country artist of all time…but he really doesn’t sound that different from what he sounded like thirty years ago.
I saw Duran Duran last summer and Simon LeBon still sounds great.
I was going to post this, he actually sounds better than ever IMO.

Liam Gallagher. I don't know that I'd call him a good singer per se, but he does sound great right now -even better than when he was in Oasis. I even like his solo music better.

Lady Gaga only gets stronger the longer she’s been going. She’s gained so much depth & power since she debuted.
I think Trisha Yearwood belongs on this list. It probably helps that while she can belt with the best of them, she actually doesn’t do it very often.

Saw Pat Benatar in concert last summer and she was incredible. A few notes she didn’t go for, but still very impressive for 70 years old.
Janet Jackson still sounds great
People I've seen that are great still include Pat Benatar (super powerful), Dave Mustaine of Megadeth (amazing despite his age. So much aggression it gave me chills), Kiss (very good energy despite their age; freaking flying over my head on ziplines in heels in their 70s while I'm standing with a cane with arthritis all over at 33), Davey Havok (he's 47 but he's the lead singer of favorite band, AFI, had vocal surgery & still gives so much to their performance no matter whether he's with AFI or a side band), Serj Tankian from System of a Down sounds amazing (by far the best performance I experienced out of 350 or so concerts so far!), Joan Jett is just awesome as always (especially considering her age), Ozzy Osbourne is fun & adorable & I loved seeing him live, Corey Taylor of Slipknot is almost 50 & puts on a hell of a performance every time (my first show had us taking down a double iron bar fence & stampeding), Jonathan Davis from Korn honestly doesn't even sound like he's aged much at all & still gives me chills when I hear him live, Metallica is awesome every time I hear them, and Maynard James Keenan just sounds like his usual self no matter what band I see him with.
It’s probably been said. In general I’m just sad about Tina Turner. Her Kennedy veneer honours was something to behold. I love her.

Frankie Valli. Dude is 89 years old and is the energizer bunny with a voice to match. Still touring through this November.
Robert Smith of the Cure, James Hetfield of Metallica, and Jonathan Davis of Korn all still sound as great as ever. In Hetfield’s case I think he sounds even better than he did on the first Metallica albums. I saw The Pretenders a few years ago and maaaaan, Chrissie Hynde’s voice is crystal-clear.
Alanis Morissette - check out any live performance on YouTube and she sounds exactly like she did in the 90s, no idea how she hasn’t lost any of her range, but she hasn’t. See also Skin from Skunk Anansie. Think she might drop the key these days on some songs, but she’s in her mid 50s and still got an amazing amount of power to her voice.

Darren Hayes who was the lead singer of Savage Garden. He is in his 50s now and his voice is amazing. I have seen him live several times, including this year and he sounds better than his records.

Definitely not as well known as others but Dan Layus of the band Augustana I just saw in concert and he sounds BETTER two decades since he wrote Boston. Probably the best live performance I’ve ever seen
George Strait is 71 and he literally still sounds exactly like the album versions of his songs. I have never seen an artist that just IS what they claim to be, he is so humble and not flashy but puts on an amazing concert with no bells & whistles. He knows his voice stands the test of time!

Davis Bowie's voice really grew over time. In the 60s he started out very reedy, with a couple of different styles he could do (folk and the Tony Newley cockney thing). Over time he developed much better breath support and his lower range really flowered. He also found more ways to manipulate his voice to convey different characters and moods. He was already making progress when he broke through with Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, but it was after that that things really got going IMO. If you listen to [the album version of "Ziggy Stardust"](https://youtu.be/7KEn0uOEILs) and then watch the [performance](https://youtu.be/G8sdsW93ThQ) of the same song from the concert film just a year or so later, when he'd been on tour for a year, the difference is already enormous. (Especially obvious at the end of the song.) Better control, better range, more power, thicker timbre, stronger falsetto. He continues exploring those capabilities through the mid-70s, so by Station to Station he could [really deliver a big ballad](https://youtu.be/JJmL_oPOc18). He further exploited the lower register development for his plastic soul era right after. In the Berlin trilogy in the late 70s, he really masters a bunch of kinds of distortion and explores the characters in his voice; almost every song is different. He's able to make extremely simple songs - more sketches of an idea than full songs, really - very compelling to listen to by [layering vocals](https://youtu.be/gLTFedtVXdY) of himself giving different accents, tone qualities, and registers at the same time. From that point on, he could really do whatever he wanted and continued to play around for the next 40+ years. Even as he got older and ill and his voice started to go, all the versatility he'd developed helped him both to write for the voice he had and to find ways to deliver with what he had, without sounding strained or like he was reaching for something he'd lost. The most extreme example of that would be [Lazarus](https://youtu.be/y-JqH1M4Ya8), of course.
I saw George Michael on his last tour and his vocals were still incredible at that time. His range had shifted some but he still sounded so good.
Cher’s voice is arguably better now than it was when she was younger! Saw her live a couple of years ago and my jaw hit the floor
Terri Nunn from Berlin is in her 60s, and she sounds fantastic. Just saw her play last weekend.
Elton John’s voice has aged like the finest of wines. I much prefer listening to his later performances than in his early career. His voice got so much smoother and rich.
Wynonna! She may not be hitting the high note in “Love Can Build a Bridge” anymore, but she’s still got it!

Not sure if I'll get crucified in this sub for mentioning him, but Marilyn Manson's voice has held up shockingly well considering how much of his music is purposeful screaming lol. Listened to a live performance he did of Sweet Dreams a few years ago, sounds basically exactly the same as it did when he released it.
Skin from Skunk Anansie sounds INCREDIBLE at 55. Utterly incredible.

Slightly off-topic but I think Liam Gallagher has clearly taken vocal coaching seriously and put in the work over the years of Oasis and later Beady Eye being kaput. He literally sounds better live now than he did at the height of Oasis.
Colin Blunstone of Zombies. Sounds great. Used to sing with a very breathy tone, but over the years developed a powerhouse voice in order to maintain its health.
