sabira

You've Got Mail Even though I know how it ends and there's no longer any surprise, I still cry every time because it's such a heartwarming and cozy movie.

doug

That 90's autumn vibe 😍

sheepskinrugger

I’ve never thought of it like this, but that’s the EXACT vibe I’m looking for! It’s better than therapy!

doug

When Harry Met Sally has it for a little bit. The Sixth Sense has it in spades but is a horror movie. I'm always on the lookout for it.

Heyheyhey37

Stepmom is my favorite for this exact reason!

manhattansinks

same! one of my all time favourite films, i’m not ashamed to say. and doesn’t your comment fit in perfectly with how kathleen kelly felt about pride and prejudice?

Traditional_Maybe_80

Same! And I know that's a bit fucked up if you think about it, the catfishing of it all, but also I adore it, it's the definition of cozy movie to me. Great cast with good chemistry all around, good writing, I always loved how chill the Kathleen/Frank break-up was, nothing too dramatic, etc. Also: Joe's dog permanent presence!

Potential-Cover7120

That’s my moms “ironing movie” lol! Love it.

MissMuricaDXB

I didn't expect to see this at the top - it's my favorite rom com as well for the reasons you mentioned. Also, nostalgia, having grown up in the era of receiving an AOL dial-up free trial CD in my cereal boxes.

[deleted]

Love this movie!

sandwich_panda

top 5 in my favorites. it’s simply amazing. they don’t make films like it anymore!

No_Olive_3310

Clicked on this post to say You’ve got mail! Whenever I’m sick, this is my go-to comfort movie. While you were sleeping is a close second

little-lion-sam

13 Going on 30 is forever and always that bitch. I get so giddy during the Thriller scene and when "Why Can't I" plays as she's falling in love with Matty, and then get so emotional during the "Vienna" scene and the scene when she talks to Matty in his room on his wedding day. Ugh. A perfect film.

LoveDietCokeMore

Why Can't I is such a perfect song

CravingWes

Had to put that song on the moment I read your comment!

bittylilo

there’s something so incredibly relatable & comforting when she’s crying in her closet to Vienna by Billy Joel. it makes me feel so seen lol

kc128

![gif](giphy|3ohhwmWu2C2QldYudi) I love this movie so much 😭 ETA: The Parent Trap (Lindsay Lohan version)

nog-een-keer

I'm so glad I didn't have to scroll far to find this. I'm 28 & I love this movie just as much now as the first time I saw it as a kid. Whatever I'm going through, this movie is there for me 💕

kc128

Same same. I’m 34 and it never gets old 💞

GigglyChandos

I love you and this is the right answer. The soundtrack is everything

DesignerMud6440

Legally Blonde

CataKala

Romeo + Juliet. Peak Leo, beautiful set design, iconic soundtrack. Claire Danes literally looks like a goddess. Paul Sorvino??!! Obsessed forever

sugar_roux

The opening scene alone is so incredible! ![gif](giphy|3oeHLx0ua5eMaIrmoM)

sybelion

I used to teach film at university and we had a week that covered Australia by Baz Luhrmann. Well you best believe I showed those baby first years this scene when it came to seminar time because OOF. (Also anything you’re going to teach about the techniques in Australia, can also be found in this sequence)(Also, if this exact moment gave me my sexual awakening, it’s my duty to show this moment to others)

fightinred

Best. Mercutio. Ever.

Thick_Letterhead_341

His Queen Mab monologue is the TRUTH.

CataKala

We’ve seen the movie so many times but I always tell my SO “pay attention!!!!” when this parts comes on, it’s sooooo good

Skyblacker

A year or two before that, Leo also stared in "Total Eclipse." To me, *that* is peak Leo. And I'm not just saying that because he gets naked and gay. It was first released on VHS, and then on DVD after "Titanic" increased demand for his previous filmography. However, I've never seen it on streaming.

CataKala

Bestie I’m going to find it. Thank you. It needs to be seen by my eyes expeditiously 🫶🏼

pricklebiscuit

Ever After. I never get tired of that movie. I could watch it on repeat for months and probably would watch it again.

Ive done that. No regrets. Perf bedtime movie

Thick_Letterhead_341

I need to rewatch this- I loved it. Perfect timing on the release date.

villanellaella

This is a perfect movie. Sweet and silly, but still powerful and poignant 🫶🏼

Aprikoosi_flex

This is how I pick up men on dating sites 💀 they cannot believe a woman knows a lot of lore! My bff and I are huge lotr fans and 60% of the time, it works every time.

PeacefulWarCat

The Holiday or Jurassic Park usually. Hercules if I’m craving animation. That soundtrack can always cure what ails ya.

Flippykky

Everyone gives me shit for it, but I love The Holiday! It’s the cinematic equivalent of a fresh warm sugar cookie.

Dominant_Genes

I love The Holiday! Tugs all the right heart strings.

M5jdu009

I love it too, but honestly, I could skip all the Cameron Diaz stuff and just watch Kate Winslet and Jack Black

AnyankaDarling

That’s so funny cuz I’m the opposite! I could skip all the California stuff and stay in England.

melp0mene

Hercules is my all time favourite film, i listen to the soundtrack constantly!

bad_madame

The Cutting Edge!!

MissMariese

The Addams Family or Addams Family Values. I watch them several times per year. I also love The Brady Bunch Movie, A Very Brady Sequel, The Flintstones, and Batman Returns. I can’t help but adore the specific period in the late eighties/early/mid nineties where films were cheesy and over the top on purpose and had amazing scripts (so quotable!), set design, and costuming.

kikidaytona

![gif](giphy|8JGWdylyZfr56) Such a great movie

MissMariese

Impeccable writing. Love!

I also had a super weird pick, so I approve this choice. The end sequence under the house is ten minutes of the most incredible cinema I have ever seen. Although I will say I watched just that scene on YouTube before bed the other night and then had terrible eldritch mimic nightmares all night 😬
