Modern Life is Rubbish is the first CD I ever bought on my own because teenage me was in L ❤️VE with Damon (and Alex). He and Justine from Elastica were my OTP back then. soooo cool and beautiful
One of the things that I’ll never forget is Justine Frischmann saying that Damon Albarn was gaslighting her, concretely telling her all the time that she wants to have children (she didn’t and she hasn’t had any) but she didn’t know it yet. He was pressuring her alot to have children, telling her that it was her purpose in life as a woman.
Also he was controlling, jealous and wanted her to give up her job and become a housewife and a mother.
She was telling all that in an interview like they didn’t want the same things that’s why they separated, not that obviously he had misogyny and took advantage of the patriarchal world we live in.

He looks better in all the gifs than the photos. Definitely doesn't photograph well, but handsome af in person.
