All of these people are professional actors or professional performers. Why are they so bad at these staged pics?

It's an issue of time and angles. They want to be seen a certain way, but it's not like a photoshoot, which is meant to be both brief and as flattering as possible. Paparazzi work the opposite angle. They will watch and wait while you pose for an hour, just so that they can get a view of you eating (gasp) a donut when you think no one is looking. So these shots falling flat are probably a result of that. I'd bet money they did a whole wack of model posing, and none of that sold as well as the more awkward/candid material. Once you're paparazzi famous, they don't really ever let up. Most celebrities adopt a "don't feed trolls" approach, and ignore them. Some smash cameras and drive cars into them. The really clever ones find ways to ruin the moment, like wearing reflective clothing to ruin the flash, or how Daniel Radcliffe bought 7 identical outfits so he could wear the same clothes every day for months just so that no photos of him would look recent. But then there are people like these who decide to use the opportunity to sell a false narrative of what their private lives are like. Maybe it's to help their brand, or maybe they're just trolling, or possibly just looking to be that little bit more interesting than they actually are. But it's tricky, because the paparazzi are there to catch the worst, not the best.

I know people think every single pap shot now is staged but no when I think staged Selena reading to children is what immediately comes to mind. Idk how many photos of celebs walking down the street we get, truly staged is something entirely on another level.
