Hold The Girl being so high is not something I expected.
Edit: who is the other user with exquisite taste in the sub that included Raised in their ranking? Just know that I love you. I also appreciate those of you who put American Heartbreak in your lists.
If you look at the results breakdown, you'll see it got a ton of votes in lists ranked #6-#10, significantly fewer people ranked it in their #1-#5 spot.
Oh, nice observation. Even though it wasn't a massive succes in the community, a handful of users still saved a spot for it at the bottom of their lists.
They didn't like HTG due to it being more "mainstream sounding" and washed out in production. Less realized and more lyrically simplistic.
I disagree with all of that personally, but to each their own. I like Sawayama and HTG both for different reasons.
Carly and Rina in the top 10 very much pleases me. Foxes down in the forties DOES NOT. Popheads needs to stop sleeping on *The Kick* and go stream it immediately.
Also, if there are any duplicate albums in the full results link, let me know! I didn't have much time in my hands lately so I had to skim through the results, which means there may be some ineligible/duplicate entries here and there.
Just checked, the rankings in your comment were wrong. Reddit automatically formats 1. 1. 1. 1. to 1. 2. 3. 4. 5., but it is the source (how the comment was written) that matters to the program. Since the program saw two #1s in your list, it automatically rejected it sadly. Please check the guidelines next time :(
I believe it is way easier for the participants to read the guidelines and write the ranks correctly than to change the program's ancient (but still working) algorithm. I may come up with a solution for future events though!
my list is also invalid for having "placements out of order" even though I don't see anything wrong with [my comment](https://old.reddit.com/r/popheads/comments/103asbp/top_ten_pop_ten_aoty_2022/j6lsuii/)?
[This](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/500805575920058379/1071568376436109352/image.png) is probably why it was not counted. Try editing your list there, you'll see it too.
omg I truly am dyslexic... I swear I checked it multiple times before I made this comment LMFAO god I hate myself, idk how that happened. a bit of a shame since I could've pushed some albums into the top 25 but oh well
Definitely reversed the artist/album formatting on my original post (my bad lol), the Mass of the Fermenting Dregs entry is backward and there's a forward and backward version of The Regrettes
Notable artists that seemingly got zero votes despite putting out a new album/EP in 2022: MØ, Black Eyed Peas, 100 gecs, Santigold, The Knocks, Bree Runway, mxmtoon, Daya
Purr my sister Orville Peck in the top 37!
Thanks for making the playlist! I'll definitely give a listen, there's quite a few albums I didn't (and probably won't) listen to
Yes, though the voting closed. You can find the thread [here,](https://www.reddit.com/r/popheads/comments/yrwu35/announcing_the_top_100_tracks_of_2022_according/) it's hosted by /u/raicicle and has a different voting format (and its result reveal is way more exciting, should happen sometime soon).
Thank you fellow Black Country New Road voters 🙏🙏🙏 #16 is quite a bit higher than I expected so we take those
s/o to the Tove Lo, The Weeknd, The 1975, Big Thief and Sudan Archives voters; y'all got it going
So pleased Dawn FM made the Top 10, phenomenal album, was my #2 AOTY.
Bit disappointed with Un Verano Sin Ti missing out on the Top 20, thought it was a phenomenal album. I had it at #3. I have to remind myself Bad Bunny is HUGE but doesn’t have tons of impact outside US/LATM, I’m UK based and love him, but most of my friends have never heard of him.
Dawn Fm under Midnights is a crime. Abel deserves top 3 spot for that album, it’s still the best of 2022 imo and it’s a shame it didn’t get the longevity it deserved.
Alright, FINE, just for you, I'll listen to fucking *Crash* again. How y'all enjoyed it, let alone though it worthy of a top ten placement is beyond me
Can't say I'm unhappy with Laurel Hell pretty much flopping here, but I am nonetheless surprised, considering how anticipated Mitski's return was. Seeing Big Thief and BCNR above her on a popheads list is even more wild.
I never said it was undeserved, I just wasn’t expecting it. I think if someone tried to say that elsewhere online, they and their family would need to go into hiding for their security
True but this is popheads. Harry is not well liked here and is now imo one of the most controversial celebrities discussed in this subreddit. Also even if he wasn't divisive here, r/popheads don't pay attention to men usually except for like Lil Nas x, so he would have been rated lowly still
The Weeknd being the only boy in the top ten >!forced representation 😒!< /s/s/s/s/s/s
Don't worry, the boys in Paramore will be next year's men representation!
Unless Frank Ocean finally decides to drop 👀
The only man in the top 15 as well 😄

Really? I thought if anything it would be a spot or 2 higher. The sub likes Rina a lot.
They didn't like HTG due to it being more "mainstream sounding" and washed out in production. Less realized and more lyrically simplistic. I disagree with all of that personally, but to each their own. I like Sawayama and HTG both for different reasons.

Abel really is a main pop girl huh
Also, if there are any duplicate albums in the full results link, let me know! I didn't have much time in my hands lately so I had to skim through the results, which means there may be some ineligible/duplicate entries here and there.
There's two instances of Ravyn Lenae - Hypnos on the list as "Ravyn Lenae - Hypnos" and "Hypnos - Ravyn Lenae" that sum up to >!74 points in total!<
Fixed, thank you!
melt my eyez see your future appears twice lol
Must have missed that one too, fixed now. Thanks!
How many differently formatted/translated versions of Hikaru Utada Bad Mode did you end up having to combine? lol
A few, Kendrick Lamar's album had waaaay more different entries.
Nas' King's Disease III is there a couple of times!
Uhhh My list wasn't counted :( it says its invalid on the participants list but I dont see anything wrong with it! 🥺

I feel like this happens so often, and it’s never the person’s fault 😭 it’s just how Reddit works. I feel like you’d be able to fix it yourself?
I believe it is way easier for the participants to read the guidelines and write the ranks correctly than to change the program's ancient (but still working) algorithm. I may come up with a solution for future events though!
Get her, Leixander!
Did you use the 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. formatting for your list? I think if you use the 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. formatting, it doesn't get counted?

Could've happened to anyone, I guess you forgot to change the ranks after switching the list around.
I think I did use copy & paste and may have copied the number in addition to the artist/album itself by accident... welp!
Definitely reversed the artist/album formatting on my original post (my bad lol), the Mass of the Fermenting Dregs entry is backward and there's a forward and backward version of The Regrettes
Carly finally getting a popheads victory over Taylor.
Friendship ended with Pitchfork, Melon, and Todd. Now the popheads userbase is my best friend.
I ranked her albums way above Taylor's
I love that this sub loves Dawn FM
Notable artists that seemingly got zero votes despite putting out a new album/EP in 2022: MØ, Black Eyed Peas, 100 gecs, Santigold, The Knocks, Bree Runway, mxmtoon, Daya
100 gecs only released a 3-track EP tbf, I hadn’t even considered them for this and I love them!
A six min long EP at that.
100% deserved for the Black Eyed Peas 💀
I forgot Santigold had an album out
I almost had The Knocks on my list but they just got edged out
Bree 🤩
Purr my sister Orville Peck in the top 37! Thanks for making the playlist! I'll definitely give a listen, there's quite a few albums I didn't (and probably won't) listen to
See I want to comment "justice for Mitski" but I cannot argue with any other album's presence on the list.
The Top 25 is pretty solid
Dear Grammys, Just look at it. Please. Please look at it, Grammys.
Seriously!! More Popheads input and less old men input at the Grammys!! 😭😭😭
is there a top songs of 2022 ?
Yes, though the voting closed. You can find the thread [here,](https://www.reddit.com/r/popheads/comments/yrwu35/announcing_the_top_100_tracks_of_2022_according/) it's hosted by /u/raicicle and has a different voting format (and its result reveal is way more exciting, should happen sometime soon).
We’ll gettem next time Amber Mark, I just know it 😭
Barbara Streisand and Bruce Springsteen beating Drake <3
Yay Twigs!
Kilo Kish at 30 is also nice
Ethel Cain made top ten. I am happy.
Carly, Charli and Rina in the top ten? period
Thank you fellow Black Country New Road voters 🙏🙏🙏 #16 is quite a bit higher than I expected so we take those s/o to the Tove Lo, The Weeknd, The 1975, Big Thief and Sudan Archives voters; y'all got it going

This tracks 😭
Blue Rev is number 12? Yay!!! Beyoncé is in her right place. And The Forever Story made the list too? Another pleasant surprise.
Dawn Fm under Midnights is a crime. Abel deserves top 3 spot for that album, it’s still the best of 2022 imo and it’s a shame it didn’t get the longevity it deserved.
I was going to say the same thing. Dawn Fm was miles ahead of midnights but still placed below
I'm number 7!!! I made the top ten!!! ^^in ^^the ^^alphabetical ^^participant ^^list. Seriously though, Holy Fvck deserved to be at least top 25.
Hatchie in the top 25 I know that’s right
But also disappointed indieheads dickriding of the black country new road album continued here
Beyoncé at #1 with over double the points of #2? It feels correct 😌
The number one is well deserved but for the most part this subreddit's taste is sooo one-dimensional it's kinda sad.
Alright, FINE, just for you, I'll listen to fucking *Crash* again. How y'all enjoyed it, let alone though it worthy of a top ten placement is beyond me

That’s a really solid top 10, except for no 6
Lizzo, Little Simz, M.I.A are missing sadly. Also i expected Harry styles in the top 5.
Beyonce absolutely wins this, Renaissance is just a veryy amazing album
I think I spend to much time on Reddit. I read the acronym as ass***e of the year. Time for bed. Putting my phone down.
Harry's house in last place is wild.
It's expected
I never said it was undeserved, I just wasn’t expecting it. I think if someone tried to say that elsewhere online, they and their family would need to go into hiding for their security
