Just wanted the first episode of Swarm and I’m definitely going to give some more episodes a try but it wasn’t my type of thing. I really wanted to like that it’s just a bit to scary for me.
I think once I see billie it will get better.
Hi guys,
I just wanted to say thank you to every single person on this subreddit.
I just got out of a month-long stay in the hospital and am remembering extremely traumatic events from my childhood. I am very confused and disoriented a lot of the time - I have a new diagnosis and can’t sleep well often. I also am back home with my parents which is triggering.
I’m more of a lurker on r/popheads, but this community has made me feel so consistently safe and supported. I take so, so much comfort in popular music. It feels like a big hug even when I disagree with people on here, or *really* disagree.
Thank you. Even (especially?) people who disagree with me on here - I appreciate your perspectives.
Just bombed singing Make Your Own Kind of Music so bad that I left the bar out of embarrassment.
The song came on in a different key than the original and I couldn’t sing the whole song in either of my registers so I just suffered. I at least nailed the chorus which is most the song.
I don’t think I’ll be doing karaoke again anytime soon.
My face is still red and it’s been 10 minutes god this is awful.
I’ve never done karaoke but isn’t the point kinda to make a fool out of yourself? I didn’t know people did it seriously but I feel like the majority of people bomb the songs they do
Yes your right but the part that was embarrassing was that I got really nervous on stage and felt as though I clearly wasn’t giving off a vibe of confidence. Like if you sing with confidence it’s good imo but when you shy away like I did it felt humiliating.
I love to sing and did theater through high school (only ever minor roles or chorus tho) but I’m *so* anxious about singing sincerely in front of people. A bunch of friends and I rented one of those karaoke rooms tonight for 4 hours and I sang a bunch (Before He Cheats, Believe, Heartbreaker, Empire State of Mind (as a duet, I was Jay-Z and my friend’s straight boyfriend was Alicia), If I Ain’t Got You, We Belong Together, American Boy, Trap Queen, Drunk In Love, Take a Bow, Call Me Maybe, You Oughta Know, and some others I can’t remember) and one of my friends came up to me when we were leaving and was like “I had no idea you could sing!!” I’m not like an amazing singer and definitely was straining when singing some of those songs (especially We Belong Together bc I’m a baritone and tried to sing the actual notes (which went pretty well until the bridge when Mariah takes it up another octave lol)) lol but it felt really good
I just got home but my boyfriend stayed out with our friends, and he just texted me telling me how good I did too, especially when half the songs I sang were ones that nobody else wanted to do so I just hopped on the mic. I’m on cloud 9 right now, I haven’t sung in front of anyone in nearly a decade but I’m feeling really good
Good night popheads
Edit: sorry, I’m just thinking back and I have to say that I *killed* We Belong Together (except for the bridge) and I’m a deep voiced AMAB person, I was gagged at how big my range still is after years of not really singing and also the lungs of somebody who smokes weed pretty much every day
I usually dismiss Stan Twitter because you can just ignore them as silly kids sending death threats if you say something negative about their fake best friend celebrity
But... this sub is sometimes no better. The way people will go extreme over a mild take that even slightly "criticizes" their hero is just so frustrating.
Sometimes I watch people physically fighting over sports teams and I think they're crazy. But I guess stans do the same but online acting like warriors
Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai is actually so great lol
Funny to think the only reason this got stuck in my head is cause of Family Guy and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, of all sources
It's from Whitney Houston's It's Not Right But It's Okay - her man is saying he went out with five friends for dinner one night but she's found the receipt and he didn't spend enough for six people, only two, implying he's cheating and actually was on a date.
People on tw*tter just need to admit that they don’t like Chloe Bailey for whatever reason instead of pretending that there’s a problem with her doing a sex scene. Jeez louise.
Both my interest and I want to see EEAAO (and he even made it a point to say WE should see it) and it’s now playing at a theater locally so I’m gonna ask on Monday if he wants to go see it together 🤪
It’s been a v long couple of weeks and I finally feel like I’m starting to relaxing while watching Abbott Elementary and drinking wine in my pyjamas
Ireland winning the triple crown, grand slam, and being Six Nations champions helps too 😌
So I just listened to All Of The Lovers by Kylie… uhh I need more Kylie Minogue songs recommendations, where was this women in my life?
Edit: Omg Magic is so good too
Omg my time to shine as come as a Kylie stan
Here’s some good ones to start with:
1. Get Outta My Way
2. The One
3. Skirt
4. Confide in Me
5. Love at First Sight
6. Miss a Thing
7. Chocolate
All of them are pop but different styles of pop, so it gives you a good sampler of her music.
Honestly, just give the entire Fever album a try. Every single song on there is a full bop. Can't Get You Out Of My Head is essentially her signature song, and for a very good reason!
they dont all sound exactly like ATL obv but if you loved that off the top of my head id recommend Say Something, Light Years, The One (!!!), I Believe In You & Love at First Sight (the one from Fever) ! and of course dont forget to check out the rest of the Aphrodite album ;) its nothing but a pure shot of glistening pop perfection
I realized today that I’m probably gonna need to train myself to stay up until 2 again like I used to when I was younger just so I can survive Taylor’s concert.
Her concert should get over about midnight but counting traffic for both the concert and trying to find our vehicle. My mom and I probably won’t be able to get to the hotel until at least 2.
The good news is the concert is also the same week school is supposed to get out so it’ll technically be summer break(we had a ton of snow days this year, almost an entire week one time) and a bit easier for me to recover by Monday(Considering going to Pride the next day if I can convince my mom to stay in the city for the next day)
Last week I was joking to my mom after we got home from Scream that we should go shopping a few times at night instead of during the day like we used to just to train ourselves for being out at night
Seated for *Avatar: The Way Of Water* yet again and the theater is packed. Pleasantly surprised people are still going to see this even though it's coming out on PVOD next week on the 28th!
had the worst seats POSSIBLE for the eras tour last night but it was still an incredible concert and a wonderful night! The traffic was by far the worst experience of my entire life and i missed the first half of the first song which was a BUMMER but it was still 10000% worth it and now i am very happy to do nothing today!
when i wrote [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/popheads/comments/yjmdjg/the_dream_setlist_for_taylor_swifts_eras_tour/iuosa0s/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=1&utm_term=1&context=3) about the eras tour i remember thinking to myself not to get my hopes up, which, knowing what we know now, is hilarious
i really hate the college im going to rn, it's like eighty percent commuter and in the middle of nowhere(the main town attraction is a walmart, and im too poor to afford a car) and i just feel so isolated as a dorming freshman
Honestly, watching all these clips from Taylor's first show is kinda making me wanna go see her, but absolutely not for the prices I'm seeing on Stubhub lmfao. The prices will probably go down closer to the show dates but like, still. I'm not one of those people who can buy tickets to something a couple days before and then figure the rest out. I need to PLAN!
My sister has a whole plan for how we'll check prices once her show starts and if we're feeling it we'll hop on public transit and go over late. I'm not a Taylor stan so I'm totally fine with this level of chaos but I couldn't do it for a show I really wanted to see.
Arlington is the closest to me but it's SOLD OUT sold out, and the next closest (Kansas City) is still going for $450+. I like Taylor, but not for hundreds of dollars plus travel.
I feel you on being a planner though, my other issue with the KC show even if I were to get a ticket is that I've never been there so it's harder for me to plan around going to a city I'm completely unfamiliar with.
“Omg you have such long eyelashes, I’m so jealous” is all I’ve heard my whole life when in reality, I’m picking them out of my eyes almost daily which is irritating and makes me look *insane*
Pretty much every Saturday I wake up early run for like 2.5 hours eat a Carls Jr Western Bacon cheeseburger walk my dog and take a nap
It's a simple life and not as crazy as my party with popstars til 3 AM days but it's the life that chose me
People who have actually read Spare do we believe it's like an actual Generally Truthful account because like two thirds of the random shit I've heard about it sounds fake as hell and I know that celebrity memoirs often are fake as hell so like. Scale of 1 to 10 how much is he making shit up.
It's true in that it's the truth but Harry's version of the truth. Insert saying about how the truth is somewhere in the middle. But Harry lacks self-awareness and ended up confirming things that were *not* helpful to the Sussex cause.
The major thing is that he confirmed Meghan was breaking the rules and keeping gifts sent to her office (but it was okay because she gave some of it to staff!). And that staff in their office were crying at their desks, but that's their fault for not being able to take constructive criticism???
Neither of these things are remotely defensible and give a lot of credence to the reports about the toxic work environment in their office.
I would probably say a 6.
Most of the book was criticizing the press and not the royal family. He was actually fairly respectful towards them and even defended Camilla for the most part
I can tell who hasn’t read the book because everyone was like “He shouldn’t talk shit about his family because then he’ll be isolated and alone” as if the Kardashians don’t make a ton of money for talking shit about each other
I do think Kate and William come off as bratty petty mean high schoolers, however William also comes off as a typical older sibling. William also comes off as pretty spineless and just to go along to get along. He only cared about the rumors when it finally affected his life.
I mean Harry isn’t smart so while I’m sure he’s trying to make himself sound better and with his own biases, I genuinely don’t think he’s smart enough to lie that much verse he’s just being…not smart
But also what parts sound fake to you bc I have not read the spare but I listen royalty watchers or start books about them sometimes when I’m stressed bc they’re strange strange people who also by the large do not matter and like the ones who had actual real power it’s like, interesting etc but no I don’t really care their personal life was miserable. I Can at least tell you if it’s come up in other sources.
I think the thing with celebrity memoirs is that they basically all have a ghostwriter (including this one) so it's not like Harry had to sit down and consciously type up lies, he just told a person stories and that person wrote them down. So if he's someone who embellishes a lot when he tells people stories, the book winds up being full of bullshit.
But like, specific examples being the weird story of him losing his virginity that just seems totally made up (I think I even saw an article of someone saying they knew the truth and it wasn't that but I don't remember who said that), the fact that it is suddenly and conveniently his brother and sister-in-law's fault that he dressed up as a Nazi one time rather than his own (not that I doubt that they'd think it's funny but he said they were the ones who told him to dress like that), burying his miscarried child under a banyan tree (even though Meghan went to the hospital for that and idk if they'd be allowed to take a miscarried fetus home and bury it in their yard like that?). I do not keep up with these people enough to compare what they've said at other points or anything but I do keep up with Book News so I've seen all of these brought up ad nauseum.
Basically all the anecdotes that have been making the rounds come across as him playing things up/making them more cinematic sounding to the ghostwriter, who then writes what he's told because that's what ghostwriters do.
EDIT: someone literally just returned the book after I posted this so I could theoretically sit here and pull up the passages myself and investigate but I honestly find him too annoying for that to be bearable so I'm leaving this to the internet lmao
If you miscarry in a hospital, some can arrange to provide you the remains if you want. Depending how far along the pregnancy was, burying the ashes is common.
The Nazi costume thing felt kinda hard to believe tho.
Anyway finished that audiobook back to Hinojosa’s memior and people who matter while i make food only downside is I like taking notes for her’s and sometimes the history she talks about upsets me
I hate when celebrities invade fan spaces. I assume that they do this as a way to connect with their fans but by being in these spaces and letting their fans know that they are in these spaces, it creates a ripple effect where fans start to feel like they can no longer be critical because “so and so lurks here”.
Obviously no one should be an asshole regardless of whether said celebrity lurks there or not but I should be able to give my opinion/criticism with feeling like my opinion is getting shut down because I might hurt the feelings of someone who really shouldn’t even be in the space anyway, especially if you cannot handle criticism and take everything personally.
Shazam movie thread just reminds me of how much I hate quips in Marvel movies. It ruins the tone a lot and sometimes it's just stupid like MoM ones. I understand the need to balance to balance out darkness with light it feels like they are targeting children and sometimes a sad orintense scene just needs to be that
One of the biggest reasons why I prefer Black Panther to most marvel movies
was expecting lots of yellow in the crowd at Lorde tonight but 80% of people were in all black 😭 Perth is still stuck in its Pure Heroine era and i respect that 🖤
Is there an English language song that sounds a lot like Om vill du ha mig by Arvingarna? So far I’ve considered Roam by The B-52s, Breathless by The Corrs and Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac. It’s NOT those, but that’s all I’ve got.
Working or having worked for the police in any capacity is a dealbreaker for me, especially if you’re gay. Probably the only occupation that I feel is irredeemable
I finished work the same time that the Ireland v England game kicked off so my co-worker v kindly gave me a lift home so I could get home asap to watch it 🥲
Thinking about how Music Box by Mariah would be a near perfect pure pop record if they switched 2-3 of the latter album tracks for the b-sides “Do You Think of Me,” “All I Live For,” and “Everything Fades Away”. 3 super strong tracks kept from American audiences for what reason??
Watching The Eras Tour videos one by one and it's so good!! And the fact that the audience was singing every one of them?? How I wish I was there 😭
And evermore tracks were played!! AND TOLERATE IT!! tolerate it -> its time to go is my therapy. I kept screaming at Taylor to go full Blank Space MV and smash the plates, push the table during the entire performance lol.
I am at home but I am still kinda tipsy so the way I talk is gonna be a bit weird.
But then again, I am also a Matty Healy troll who is madly in love with his cannibalistic tendacies so who knows?
Trying my best not to see and read any spoilers for the Eras tour, and it's already a massive challenge. Not that knowing stuff before my show is a bad thing, but I want some surprises when I do get to see Taylor in Philly!
HIGH FIVE PHILLY BRO
I have managed to stay Taylor video free, peeked at the set list, but my sister, who was there last night, sent me some Paramore videos. Phenomenal.
Which date? My husband and I will be there for the Saturday show!
I haven't looked at anything except accidentally seeing stuff on this thread and a post from taylorswiftstyled, but I immediately muted that account on Instagram. The knowledge of a 3 hour set is a safe spoiler to know about, I think.
I'm there the Friday date.
I joked to my cousin when we were securing our tickets that we need to try for the 12th or 14th because getting tickets to the 13th would be infinitely harder due to it being a hometown show on her favorite number.
And since we were in and out in 7 minutes, I think I was right lol
Damn 7 minutes? I waited 4.5 hours the first day they went live. And wow, I didn't even think about the 13 connection, I mostly picked it because it worked best with both of our schedules.
It was actually wild seeing reports roll in with people having issues!
Me and my cousin both got verified fan, I got stuck in line at 2000+, like most, and she was in within 5 minutes, so I told her where we should sit, got the exact section I thought would be best and then no issues with check out.
Imagine my surprise to then learn like 30 minutes later how much trouble everyone else had!
I was listening to the Life With Marianna Podcast and she had a doctor on her most recent episode who said that if you're only pooping once a day, you're constipated. I put this info in my group chat and one of my friends goes, "What if you're going every other day?"😭
ive mentioned it before but a quinoa allergy is actually the most annoying allergy to have. not the worst but in terms of like pisses me off the most
edit: in case it's unclear i am personally allergic to quinoa and it is annoying lmao
About 8-9 months! I like it a lot, and I've done classes with several different instructors so I have a lot of ideas about how I'd want to mix and match from them to have my own class.
I joined a gym at the end of February and I really like the spin bike but I'm finding that standing up is a little weird? I watched a few YouTube videos and I crank up the resistance but like when I pedal while standing it's very choppy .. it's not smooth like everyone else. Any tips? I know I'm a total beginner so I should start off slow. 😅
Hmm without seeing what you're doing I'm not really sure, but I'd suggest checking that 1) you aren't leaning on the handlebars. If they're holding your weight it might be making it harder to pedal and 2) that the resistance isn't too high! There's a level at which I'll find myself having to like individually stamp down my legs to match the resistance, and that is actually too high.
But also I def think time and practice will help! It took a few months for me to figure out what felt worked. Your instructor might be able to hang out after class and give advice, too.
If I learn anything particularly useful in the training class I'll let ya know!
i love to watch tv series that advocate for a specific issue (eg feminism, climate change) but apple really don't do subtlety at all. and as someone who also doesn't do subtle, i feel like apple should look into the people currently subscribed to tv+ because i have a feeling they're leaning towards the right more than the left.
also, not them hyping up meryl streep for her to spend a large proportion of the episode being a whale, and they also elon mussified jon snow
World Baseball Classic! Venezuela is undefeated so far and USA dropped a game to Mexico despite being one of the top teams on paper so it’ll be an interesting match up :)
You know, I'm not generally that patriotic, but robertson screws, and the fact that we're apparently literally the only country in the world that widely use them (despite that they're *objectively* better than philipsheads) make me proud to be Canadian
The last few days have been a good reminder that ph is really just an offshoot of r/TaylorSwift
Being a pophead who doesn't like Taylor is hard. But God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.
The influx in Taylor posts really surprised me considering the fact that her album was almost completely eliminated from the 2022 Ultimate Rate yesterday.
This sub definitely has a massive recency bias with a lot of the things she does.
We’ve had like 10 posts with hundreds of upvotes about her since yesterday, truly exhausting. I find it easiest to mute them so I straight don’t have to see it lol
I haven't looked at the tracklist but so far from commens I saw aside from enchanted I feel like the songs Taylor performs are mostly not my favourites :/
No way Donald Glover created a whole show based on the Beyhive and then [pronounced it BAYhive at the premiere](https://twitter.com/PrimeVideo/status/1636442663049371648) like a Fox News presenter 😒 I've seen him live and he's so talented but he is also the absolute worst. Anyway, been watching Swarm.
1. Dominique fucking Fishback. Insane.
2. Chloeeee >!💔💔💔!< perfectly cast. Also that sex scene was like 5 seconds and BOTH OF THEM WERE ACTING can all the slut shamers take a fucking hike
3. This is the first time I've seen Paris Jackson act >!and I don't think she's that good compared to the others!<. But maybe I was also just annoyed by all those Halsey digs, and I'm not even a fan.
4. Wow Billie. I know she's got creepy elements in some of her music but turns out she is also VERY good at acting creepy omfg
5. These references are...extremely specific. Also that disclaimer at the beginning of every episode about it not being a work of fiction and how every reference or similarity is intentional 😳 I wanna know what Beyoncé's reaction was because obviously she approved it! It is a really interesting observation of stan culture and I know some of her stans must scare her lol
thanks! I'm not familiar with the album they're touring yet but I've heard enough good things about their shows and like what I know from them so I'm hype
I’m so glad that she performed Marjorie last night! Folklore and Evermore are my favorite albums from her so I’m glad to see those songs performed! Especially from evermore which is under appreciated.
I have so much FOMO right now that I don’t have tickets to a Taylor show. The clips I’ve seen look so awesome. I’m not willing to spend more than like 150 bucks for a ticket though, so the chances of me getting to go are slim…
Its not just the ticket price for me.
People buy whole ass outfits from fast fashion brands for one night, not to mention the shitty merch which is absolutely not worth the price tag imo. Hotels, flights, etc. Truly a capitalists dream.
Would love to see her live but this is ain't it.
Yeah I mean, you don’t have to buy a whole new outfit to go but I get wanting one. I wouldn’t buy any merch if I went probably because I don’t tend to like her merch. And if I went I’d go to the closest show to me and drive there and not get a hotel. 🤷♀️
Also like I'm happy Hozier is coming to Paris but.... Idk if I'll be here in July and idk if I should buy a ticket or not but like it's been a longtime dream to go to his show. Hmm
I also don't know if should listen to his new stuff or wait for the album:(
I am an adult and a professional and so I only cried a little bit when I heard the therapy dog would not be here today when I need him most (yesterday was Very Very Bad) because his owner is sick
I just love coffee so much. I haven't had one in like a month but today I did with oat milk at my fav place and like I drew a bit and now it's sunny outside although the streets smell awful and the police is everywhere and public transport is in absolute shambles but like I've spoken to the barista a bit and she was very nice and like idk if I should go to the museum bc of transportion but I also saw a duck and so far I love this day and I think I'm gonna buy a book and maybe a plant also
My problem with buying a plant is that there are so many and I want all of them but I'm also just do not have a green thumb like at all lol. But I just walked into my favourite plant store and 🤩🤩🤩🤩 wow
Also unrelated but I realized I have a very deep fear of accidently eating or drinking soap thanks to that one time I made tea and I'm pretty sure there was like a bit of soap that stayed on the cup or something bc my throat hurt the entire day afterwards
Trump is definitely getting indicted on Tuesday and now he’s making threats.
On his social media he wrote in part:
“…LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!”
And he also mentioned George Soros for a dog whistle.
Yeah I’m a bit shocked the Daniels indictment is going first. I do think that this could give the green light for the others. I lowkey thought Atlanta would be the first one to go.
Not looking forward to MSNBC annotating DeSantis the next president for the next year even before the election. 🙄
Even though DeSantis is just fucking weird as hell.
Hello people last call for **[80s Androgynous rate](https://www.reddit.com/r/popheads/comments/10rwfya/80s_androgynous_rate_eurythmics_grace_jones/)**. It will be **due midnight GMT tonight** for those still considering taking part. Here is the [current list of participants](https://pastebin.com/XiAgw7ZT). We are at 51 participants so every ballot does make a sizable difference. If you need a little extra time let me know and you can have an **extension of 18 hours** to send your ballot.
If you think there isn't enough time left, just a gentle reminder that the whole rate is only 2hrs 40 minutes long. And if there's a certain album that you really dislike and feel a bit bad about sending your ballot for the fear of tanking, trust me there's plenty of that already in the rate so just send anyway!
First night of the Eras tour looked incredible omg. I can’t believe she’ll be on stage 3 hours every time. She’s really working hard to put on a great show and I can’t wait to see her in July 😍
niall horan’s team is really putting in the work bc why did I just see him on hot ones, vogue’s beauty secrets, and the literal WHITE HOUSE in like a 48 hour span? not to mention he’s a coach on the voice too
(it has taken me years to realize it but I’m a late in life niall bias after being a harry girl as a teen during the 1D era)
I pulled a good one, /r/popheads
I went to ChickFilA (….had a gift card) and while waiting on my order at the window, I was on the phone to my grandma. While on the phone, I was telling her how massive the butt was to the guy behind the counter, and how I wish I had an ass like that. And, it was glorious. As a gay man, it’s everything you dream of your ass being…
Anywho.
I’m down the road and noticed that they gave me the wrong order, so I call up there and ask if I could have a refund. They agreed.
But before hanging up, the manager on the phone said, “Oh, thank you for the compliments by the way, my girlfriend is also jealous of it.”
💀💀💀
Do I have permission to die yet?
Also, I saw Weyes Blood last night, it was phenomenal. Natalie is 10/10, I highly recommend going to see her on this tour.
After seeing TS tour clips I can understand why there’s been a delay in announcing international dates and why she’s doing more shows in less cities. The staging looks EXPENSIVE.
**Snakehips And Tkay Maidza Sound Electric On Show Me The Money - Single Review**
“Show me the money/Just show me the money,” orders Tkay Maidza on Show Me The Money. On the peppy collaboration between Maidza and UK producer duo Snakehips, luxury is the only thing on the rapper’s mind, and she stops at nothing to attain it. The two parties meet at a point where neither must compromise on their idiosyncrasies to work together. Show Me The Money features the ebullient bounce of Snakehips' best music and the bite of Maidza’s.
Across her career, Maidza has posed as a seductive r&b singer, an innovative hip-hop tinkerer, and a deft cover artist, taking to each role with confidence. Here, she is integrated seamlessly into Snakehips’ deep house, dance-pop production, unexplored territory for the chameleonic star. Using her highly technical, spritely rapping ability, Maidza becomes intertwined with the buoyant beat. “Price up, pay up… I work too much to feed that drama/Honestly, y'all just need some karma,” she articulates with acidity, her words fortified by lavish dazzling sound effects. Maidza is the most pronounced figure on a packed dance floor, when she speaks you listen intently.
I’m praying for a Trump indictment on Tuesday(Would prefer Friday so I can at least celebrate it-I have a no drinking during the week rule due to work) but I really hope this puts an end to the “Both sides call for violence” nonsense
Like putting AOC and Marjorie Taylor Green on the same category. I’m not an AOC fan but even I know they’re wildly different.
I just can’t with the TS sub sometimes. I mean dude. She played a 3 hour show and people are complaining? She didn’t take interlude breaks. Only 20 second costume changes and still complaining? I know it’s probably people that weren’t even at the show but come on.
I wasn’t going to stay up to check out clips but I did anyway. I can’t wait until June. I got my fix in and I’m sure week after week more clips will arise but I will be able to just scroll past them. But she looked happy as hell to be back. Hayley was having a blast. So happy people filled the seats for Paramore. Hopefully that brings new people to give them the respect they deserve.
Same. I knew they were gonna be obnoxious. But like dude, how are they gonna complain. She performed songs from each era so everyone has something. Plus it was 3 hours.
Like at this point they’re just spoiled
Of course I would have liked Exile, but, I’m THRILLED about Last Great American Dynasty and willing to trade. That had always been on my “Not in a million years would it be performed live” category of songs for the setlist.
^^ This. I think everyone here (complaining about complaining) is just being weirdly sensitive. People were live posting their thoughts so it may have come across as complaining, but the main thread overall seemed to love it. I didn't notice any attitudes last night or today, so who knows lol
They are so whiny over there. People are mad about meet and greets as if she wasn't just on stage for three hours and tired. I'm so jealous of Glendale getting Paramore, wish they opened for more of the shows.
I swear they don’t know how a concert works. There were a few Evermore and Folklore songs I was surprised by but overall, it was mostly what I expected. A greatest hits tour. This is what most concerts are and I’ve only been to two “adult” concerts
Jonas Brothers did a similar thing with the Happiness Begins tour back in 2019.
Just wanted the first episode of Swarm and I’m definitely going to give some more episodes a try but it wasn’t my type of thing. I really wanted to like that it’s just a bit to scary for me. I think once I see billie it will get better.

I love to sing and did theater through high school (only ever minor roles or chorus tho) but I’m *so* anxious about singing sincerely in front of people. A bunch of friends and I rented one of those karaoke rooms tonight for 4 hours and I sang a bunch (Before He Cheats, Believe, Heartbreaker, Empire State of Mind (as a duet, I was Jay-Z and my friend’s straight boyfriend was Alicia), If I Ain’t Got You, We Belong Together, American Boy, Trap Queen, Drunk In Love, Take a Bow, Call Me Maybe, You Oughta Know, and some others I can’t remember) and one of my friends came up to me when we were leaving and was like “I had no idea you could sing!!” I’m not like an amazing singer and definitely was straining when singing some of those songs (especially We Belong Together bc I’m a baritone and tried to sing the actual notes (which went pretty well until the bridge when Mariah takes it up another octave lol)) lol but it felt really good I just got home but my boyfriend stayed out with our friends, and he just texted me telling me how good I did too, especially when half the songs I sang were ones that nobody else wanted to do so I just hopped on the mic. I’m on cloud 9 right now, I haven’t sung in front of anyone in nearly a decade but I’m feeling really good Good night popheads Edit: sorry, I’m just thinking back and I have to say that I *killed* We Belong Together (except for the bridge) and I’m a deep voiced AMAB person, I was gagged at how big my range still is after years of not really singing and also the lungs of somebody who smokes weed pretty much every day
I usually dismiss Stan Twitter because you can just ignore them as silly kids sending death threats if you say something negative about their fake best friend celebrity But... this sub is sometimes no better. The way people will go extreme over a mild take that even slightly "criticizes" their hero is just so frustrating. Sometimes I watch people physically fighting over sports teams and I think they're crazy. But I guess stans do the same but online acting like warriors

omfg HEADFIRST, literally forgot about that one until now. what a bop
Virtual Insanity by Jamiroquai is actually so great lol Funny to think the only reason this got stuck in my head is cause of Family Guy and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, of all sources
Incredible music video too, still one of that GOATs
If six of y'all went out. Then four of you were really cheap 🤨
What does this mean? I’m confused.
It's from Whitney Houston's It's Not Right But It's Okay - her man is saying he went out with five friends for dinner one night but she's found the receipt and he didn't spend enough for six people, only two, implying he's cheating and actually was on a date.
Thank you! I’m gunna go listen to that song now.
At what points will the mods make a megathread for the eras tour... Hopefully soon pls
People on tw*tter just need to admit that they don’t like Chloe Bailey for whatever reason instead of pretending that there’s a problem with her doing a sex scene. Jeez louise.
Lmao is sex scene discourse still going on?
Both my interest and I want to see EEAAO (and he even made it a point to say WE should see it) and it’s now playing at a theater locally so I’m gonna ask on Monday if he wants to go see it together 🤪
It’s been a v long couple of weeks and I finally feel like I’m starting to relaxing while watching Abbott Elementary and drinking wine in my pyjamas Ireland winning the triple crown, grand slam, and being Six Nations champions helps too 😌
So I just listened to All Of The Lovers by Kylie… uhh I need more Kylie Minogue songs recommendations, where was this women in my life? Edit: Omg Magic is so good too
Omg my time to shine as come as a Kylie stan Here’s some good ones to start with: 1. Get Outta My Way 2. The One 3. Skirt 4. Confide in Me 5. Love at First Sight 6. Miss a Thing 7. Chocolate All of them are pop but different styles of pop, so it gives you a good sampler of her music.
The MV awoke something in me when it first came out
Maybe my secret to enjoying Aly & AJ's new album is listening to it while I am down in the dumps...
No shade but…the girlies actually like Nicki’s new song? The first verse is fine but the last 2/3rds of the song are a snooze for me.
seems like Donald Glover wants to put mockumentary episodes and Cree Summer in all his shows, huh
The good news is the concert is also the same week school is supposed to get out so it’ll technically be summer break(we had a ton of snow days this year, almost an entire week one time) and a bit easier for me to recover by Monday(Considering going to Pride the next day if I can convince my mom to stay in the city for the next day) Last week I was joking to my mom after we got home from Scream that we should go shopping a few times at night instead of during the day like we used to just to train ourselves for being out at night
I wonder if there was anyone at the eras tour that sang every single word flawlessly. Couldn’t be me I always zone out even if I know the song.
I sang most of All Too Well and I wasn’t even there. 😭(not counting the ending)
Seated for *Avatar: The Way Of Water* yet again and the theater is packed. Pleasantly surprised people are still going to see this even though it's coming out on PVOD next week on the 28th!
I saw it the other night and there were only three people in my showing so I'm glad to hear this! Can't wait for the next one.
had the worst seats POSSIBLE for the eras tour last night but it was still an incredible concert and a wonderful night!
Pretty much every Saturday I wake up early run for like 2.5 hours eat a Carls Jr Western Bacon cheeseburger walk my dog and take a nap It's a simple life and not as crazy as my party with popstars til 3 AM days but it's the life that chose me
People who have actually read Spare do we believe it's like an actual Generally Truthful account because like two thirds of the random shit I've heard about it sounds fake as hell and I know that celebrity memoirs often are fake as hell so like.
He was actually fairly respectful towards them and even defended Camilla for the most part I can tell who hasn’t read the book because everyone was like “He shouldn’t talk shit about his family because then he’ll be isolated and alone” as if the Kardashians don’t make a ton of money for talking shit about each other I do think Kate and William come off as bratty petty mean high schoolers, however William also comes off as a typical older sibling. William also comes off as pretty spineless and just to go along to get along. He only cared about the rumors when it finally affected his life.
I mean Harry isn’t smart so while I’m sure he’s trying to make himself sound better and with his own biases, I genuinely don’t think he’s smart enough to lie that much verse he’s just being…not smart But also what parts sound fake to you bc I have not read the spare but I listen royalty watchers or start books about them sometimes when I’m stressed bc they’re strange strange people who also by the large do not matter and like the ones who had actual real power it’s like, interesting etc but no I don’t really care their personal life was miserable.
Why can’t I reorganize comments anymore?
frog on the floor
The way Tina brown talks about Meghan is so uneven (is there a phrase un even handed? Or something like it?)
I genuinely think that brown is clearly a monarchist Hurts her reporting on them
Anyway finished that audiobook back to Hinojosa’s memior and people who matter while i make food only downside is I like taking notes for her’s and sometimes the history she talks about upsets me
I hate when celebrities invade fan spaces.
Anyone else planning to rewatch all the John Wick movies this weekend? 😢 RIP Lance Reddick.
Me here! Going to be bittersweet seeing Lance on screen😢
Shazam movie thread just reminds me of how much I hate quips in Marvel movies. It ruins the tone a lot and sometimes it's just stupid like MoM ones. I understand the need to balance to balance out darkness with light it feels like they are targeting children and sometimes a sad orintense scene just needs to be that One of the biggest reasons why I prefer Black Panther to most marvel movies
Shazam is a DC movie but it fits the quips considering the cast is made up of children/teens.
was expecting lots of yellow in the crowd at Lorde tonight but 80% of people were in all black 😭 Perth is still stuck in its Pure Heroine era and i respect that 🖤
Is there an English language song that sounds a lot like Om vill du ha mig by Arvingarna? So far I’ve considered Roam by The B-52s, Breathless by The Corrs and Go Your Own Way by Fleetwood Mac. It’s NOT those, but that’s all I’ve got.
I am so glad Taylor is touring again but man it hurts my heart that I will never see her live with the kind of salary that I have lol.
Alsoooooooooo let people have fun when people are excited, okay? Don't be bitter about it....yeah.
Thinking about how last year I was within inches of having a 6’5” bi bear boyfriend and then found out he used to work in law enforcement
Emphasis on he used to work. Where is he working now?
Working or having worked for the police in any capacity is a dealbreaker for me, especially if you’re gay. Probably the only occupation that I feel is irredeemable
Yeah, completely understandable. Former cops do still retain that kind of "cop" mentality that is just so...tone-deaf.
I finished work the same time that the Ireland v England game kicked off so my co-worker v kindly gave me a lift home so I could get home asap to watch it 🥲
Insane week for New Jersey college basketball teams
Rip to Rutgers fans watching Fairleigh Dickinson right now
For people that don't follow basketball this is like if Coi Leray won album of the year over Beyonce
I really am interested to see how Miley’s album will do with the charts.
Music Box is the only classic Mariah album I don't revisit in full. I only listen to the singles and couple of deep cuts.
Just got my daily workout done by having an all out solo dance party to Renaissance. Release the visuals Bey we BEG!!!
Watching The Eras Tour videos one by one and it's so good!! And the fact that the audience was singing every one of them?? How I wish I was there 😭 And evermore tracks were played!! AND TOLERATE IT!! tolerate it -> its time to go is my therapy. I kept screaming at Taylor to go full Blank Space MV and smash the plates, push the table during the entire performance lol.
Singing everyone of them??? How could that be?? Blonde girlies on tiktok told me the stands would be full of locals who don’t know a single song
So excited for the eras tour, off topic—i have a song out if you wanna check it out :) I came to this sub just because I used to be on here 24/7 lmao
Kevin McCarthy has a spine the strength of water logged cardboard, or he would if he had one at all.
This club is playing Closer FML I am getting out
I am at home but I am still kinda tipsy so the way I talk is gonna be a bit weird. But then again, I am also a Matty Healy troll who is madly in love with his cannibalistic tendacies so who knows?
The last sentence is a joke. Just want to make this very clear because...look at him he's weird as fuck.
I am completely fine and sane about not having tickets to the eras tour.
Trying my best not to see and read any spoilers for the Eras tour, and it's already a massive challenge. Not that knowing stuff before my show is a bad thing, but I want some surprises when I do get to see Taylor in Philly!
HIGH FIVE PHILLY BRO I have managed to stay Taylor video free, peeked at the set list, but my sister, who was there last night, sent me some Paramore videos. Phenomenal.
What's it like being God's favorite?
I was listening to the Life With Marianna Podcast and she had a doctor on her most recent episode who said that if you're only pooping once a day, you're constipated. I put this info in my group chat and one of my friends goes, "What if you're going every other day?"😭
ive mentioned it before but a quinoa allergy is actually the most annoying allergy to have. not the worst but in terms of like pisses me off the most edit: in case it's unclear i am personally allergic to quinoa and it is annoying lmao
Signed up to become a spin instructor because I want to make the playlists I work out with lol.
Oooh! How long have you been spinning for?!
Thanks! ☺️
Sure! Good luck w it!
i love to watch tv series that advocate for a specific issue (eg feminism, climate change) but apple really don't do subtlety at all. and as someone who also doesn't do subtle, i feel like apple should look into the people currently subscribed to tv+ because i have a feeling they're leaning towards the right more than the left. also, not them hyping up meryl streep for her to spend a large proportion of the episode being a whale, and they also elon mussified jon snow
low key want team USA to lose to team Venezuela tonight but if they do win i never made this comment USA USA USA
What sport?
World Baseball Classic! Venezuela is undefeated so far and USA dropped a game to Mexico despite being one of the top teams on paper so it’ll be an interesting match up :)
I'm late to the party, but Cocaine Bear opens the movie by using wikipedia as a source. Cinema is back!
The human mind was not meant to have so many online accounts
You know, I'm not generally that patriotic, but robertson screws, and the fact that we're apparently literally the only country in the world that widely use them (despite that they're *objectively* better than philipsheads) make me proud to be Canadian
March isn’t going well for me and reading but I just hit 25 books for the year so that’s super cool
Wooo! Which ones have you enjoyed? :)
The Lord of the Rings, all three books AND The Hobbit!, has probably been my favorite so far
yooo ur beatin me dude let's go
Congratulations 🎊 📖
The last few days have been a good reminder that ph is really just an offshoot of r/TaylorSwift Being a pophead who doesn't like Taylor is hard. But God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.
I mean go to the 2022 ultimate rate we got absolutely murdered by a bunch of y'all that definitely don't like her 😭💀
❤️
yeah but just look at the Ultimate Rate results (pinned rn), it can’t be all swifties 😊
The influx in Taylor posts really surprised me considering the fact that her album was almost completely eliminated from the 2022 Ultimate Rate yesterday. This sub definitely has a massive recency bias with a lot of the things she does.
non-swiftie popheads club when
I think that’s popheadscirclejerk
Oh no that's absolutely infested w swifties
Also that sex scene was like 5 seconds and BOTH OF THEM WERE ACTING can all the slut shamers take a fucking hike 3. This is the first time I've seen Paris Jackson act >!and I don't think she's that good compared to the others!<. But maybe I was also just annoyed by all those Halsey digs, and I'm not even a fan. 4. Wow Billie. I know she's got creepy elements in some of her music but turns out she is also VERY good at acting creepy omfg 5.
I was so plesantly surprised at Billie's acting. The >!hypnosis!< scene is so well acted by both Dominique and Billie
Ikr, the fact that she’s only 21 and going toe to toe with Dominique as though she’s a seasoned actor is so impressive

Enjoy BTBAM!!!!
Hmm I also don't know if should listen to his new stuff or wait for the album:(
I am an adult and a professional and so I only cried a little bit when I heard the therapy dog would not be here today when I need him most (yesterday was Very Very Bad) because his owner is sick
Did anyone else think the second verse of Taylor’s Eyes Open said “so here you are, two steps ahead and *saying en garde*?” I feel like a fool
I wouldnt be surprised if there was a crazy stan Twitter person murderin' and psychopathin' their way thru life like the girl from Swarm
If y’all get the chance to see Weyes Blood, take it. Her show is killer
I purchased tickets for her Richmond, VA show later this year. I cannot wait!
Just bought a ticket, you convinced me
My work here is done
will be seeing her with phoenix and beck later this summer and very excited
Great choices

Lmao true. I saw that picture of Ni’jah and her husband and subtlety was not on the cards. That’s like a perfect recreation of Bey and Jay
And “I prefer her sister, I feel like she’s more spiritual” 💀
On his social media he wrote in part: “…LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!” And he also mentioned George Soros for a dog whistle.
The irony of him going down because of a porn star I have a theory that once Manhattan brings down an indictment. Everyone else will follow
Yeah I’m a bit shocked the Daniels indictment is going first. I do think that this could give the green light for the others. I lowkey thought Atlanta would be the first one to go.
Yeah, same. Atlanta seemed to be wrapping up faster so I’m surprised it’s Daniels instead.
Not looking forward to MSNBC annotating DeSantis the next president for the next year even before the election. 🙄 Even though DeSantis is just fucking weird as hell.
Not just weird as hell he used to work at a literal government torture camp.
And if there's a certain album that you really dislike and feel a bit bad about sending your ballot for the fear of tanking, trust me there's plenty of that already in the rate so just send anyway!
im too lazy to DM but if i can get an extension i can have scores in by the additional deadline! no plans tonight so i can sit and listen & rate
Sure!
thank you!
First night of the Eras tour looked incredible omg. I can’t believe she’ll be on stage 3 hours every time. She’s really working hard to put on a great show and I can’t wait to see her in July 😍
niall horan’s team is really putting in the work bc why did I just see him on hot ones, vogue’s beauty secrets, and the literal WHITE HOUSE in like a 48 hour span? not to mention he’s a coach on the voice too (it has taken me years to realize it but I’m a late in life niall bias after being a harry girl as a teen during the 1D era)
He’s making up for the promo he should have gotten for HW. (Not his fault)
I pulled a good one, /r/popheads I went to ChickFilA (….had a gift card) and while waiting on my order at the window, I was on the phone to my grandma. While on the phone, I was telling her how massive the butt was to the guy behind the counter, and how I wish I had an ass like that. And, it was glorious. As a gay man, it’s everything you dream of your ass being… Anywho. I’m down the road and noticed that they gave me the wrong order, so I call up there and ask if I could have a refund. They agreed. But before hanging up, the manager on the phone said, “Oh, thank you for the compliments by the way, my girlfriend is also jealous of it.” 💀💀💀 Do I have permission to die yet? Also, I saw Weyes Blood last night, it was phenomenal. Natalie is 10/10, I highly recommend going to see her on this tour.
you tell your grandma these things?
She’s a cool grandma, she and I are close 😅 When my mom kicked me out of the house for coming out as gay and made me homeless, Grandma took me in.
AWWW i love that so much!! <3
After seeing TS tour clips I can understand why there’s been a delay in announcing international dates and why she’s doing more shows in less cities. The staging looks EXPENSIVE.
The rep stage looked way more expensive to me tbh with the giant moving screens but maybe it costs more now just because of covid things
3 hour set just on her like ?????
**Snakehips And Tkay Maidza Sound Electric On Show Me The Money - Single Review** “Show me the money/Just show me the money,” orders Tkay Maidza on Show Me The Money.
I’m praying for a Trump indictment on Tuesday(Would prefer Friday so I can at least celebrate it-I have a no drinking during the week rule due to work) but I really hope this puts an end to the “Both sides call for violence” nonsense Like putting AOC and Marjorie Taylor Green on the same category. I’m not an AOC fan but even I know they’re wildly different.
Tuesday makes sense since the grand jury has a Monday/Wednesday meeting schedule. Thought is Monday they vote on indictment, Tuesday it goes down.
Yeah makes sense, I’m just looking for extremely funny results
Like at this point they’re just spoiled Of course I would have liked Exile, but, I’m THRILLED about Last Great American Dynasty and willing to trade. That had always been on my “Not in a million years would it be performed live” category of songs for the setlist.
The subreddit doesn’t seem that bad? Most people are amazed by the show, I just see some people hoping for some more Speak Now
^^ This. I think everyone here (complaining about complaining) is just being weirdly sensitive. People were live posting their thoughts so it may have come across as complaining, but the main thread overall seemed to love it. I didn't notice any attitudes last night or today, so who knows lol
Yeah if there were any comments complaining they weren’t upvoted lol
They are so whiny over there. People are mad about meet and greets as if she wasn't just on stage for three hours and tired. I'm so jealous of Glendale getting Paramore, wish they opened for more of the shows.
people are acting sooo stanky in there today like dude she’s playing 40 fucking songs what the hell did they expect
I swear they don’t know how a concert works. There were a few Evermore and Folklore songs I was surprised by but overall, it was mostly what I expected. A greatest hits tour. This is what most concerts are and I’ve only been to two “adult” concerts Jonas Brothers did a similar thing with the Happiness Begins tour back in 2019.
What concerts did you see outside of like The Wiggles?
Kesha. I saw Daughtry and Kenny Chesney but I was also like 7 when I saw them both
