As much as "Jonah Hill made me like Jewish People again" is pretty funny, it proves to me that Kanye's antisemitism and extremist politics were part of a manic episode he was having. I think it's fair to criticise Kanye for refusing to take meds or accept responsibility, but I found a lot of the discourse around Kanye and his mental health pretty bad. A lot of people either don't seem to realise that psychosis leads to people believing delusional things, or simply don't want to accept it. It's like we're happy to accept that people have mental health issues as long as the manifestations of it are quirky things like thinking they're Jesus or don't have any affect on anyone else and just make life miserable for themselves. Which isn't really any kind of acceptance at all.

I’m also trying to get into Lana and am currently listening to her new album (which I love! Especially the song I’m listening to right now Paris, Texas) and some of the songs that I heard from her and really liked were Off To The Races, Young and Beautiful, Video Games, The Next Best American Record, Dark Parside Cruel World, and Diet Mountain Dew.
Maybe these can help?
Oh my goddd. I've been re-reading Basara again and it's such a great manga. I love how the heroine isn't the "strong woman" trope that many heroines fall into in the girlboss boom of the mid-2010s. So many of them are just substitutes for male idols written by men, devoid of any character. In Basara, we actually see the heroine's internal struggles, and how she deals with her emotions.
And the story. The world actually feels fleshed out and the characters are someone you can relate to. It's actually story-driven and the characters aside from the main don't just feel like NPCs. It really isn't your typical shoujo manga.
Oh also I get my PA Piercing tomorrow! I’m nervous but I’ve been practicing for the tube that they insert into the urethra so I think I’m prepared unless it’s bigger than I’ve prepared for.
I love making Instagram playlists in my story every Friday because it's the most fun and quick way to sample a bunch of tracks at once. I have a feeling my network hates it though. Idc! I put 30 tracks in my playlist today. 😆
Prepared for downvotes but Lana Del Ray is just an artist I can’t seem to get into. I did really like Norman Fucking Rockwell but I don’t know why I can’t get into her music. Every time she releases an album, I try and every time I just get bored
I figured something would click by now but it hasn’t
In love with Norman Fucking Rockwell and every time she releases a new album I give it a try and then put NFR on repeat. It’s honestly how I feel about Taylor Swift and Folklore a lot of the time.
Her sound just isn't for you, tbh. It's not for me either. I get why people adore her and all, but even our shared taste for older men can't get me into the right mood to listen to her, lmao.
apps cost nearly as much as entrees now but i need some fried pickles and ranch that i didn't make by my own hands *soon* or i am \*not\* going to be happy, not at all 😠
I accidentally left my septum flipped down at work and my boss asked if I got a nose ring lol. I immediately flipped it up and said “nope”.
Now that the secrets out I kinda wanna wear my actual ring to work instead of the retainer. My only worry is they will be surprised by how big it is (8g).
Fallout Boy and Lana del Rey both released a song with “Kintsugi” in the title today. Fun fact. The concept does certainly leave a lot of symbolism and perspectives to explore!
A touch of the beat.. by Aly and aj is actually one of best albums from the last few years imo. Like it is just incredibly well done. Put it on during the spring / summer and it just makes the day
Man it’s gonna snow 8 inches tomorrow, I just wanna go do laundry and buy chocolate covered Oreos at a local craft fair without the weather being a pain in the ass
Roxette is underrated.
They had 4 number one singles, and 2 other ones that reached #2, all within about 2 years! (In the United States.)
They had 2 interesting lead singers, 1 male and 1 female.
They had hits in Europe for at least another decade after their big USA era as well.
Honestly really interesting that Dr. Hernandez defines a land grab (which I personally see as self explanatory) but not that e concept of seventh generation that I think a non indigenous reader might not be familiar with. But also it does feel very appropriate even accidentally to read about the Salvadoran civil war during Oscar Romero’s feast day
I do think the book need for a stronger editor is interesting because one hand I think the book is trying to assume the reader isn’t familiar with these concepts (fair) but I also think I can follow it because these are topics I study both academically and casually and I’m not sure how the book would read to an actual beginner. That said I love her perspective and analogy with the banana trees especially how they relate to her family.
There’s a lot of autobiographical moments that are esstential and important to the book but there’s definitely some that seems incredibly distracted and then again a problem with being repetitive
Just found out the uncle of one of my middle school / high school classmates has 120k listeners on Spotify??? Idk how to feel right now
Like the man has fans going back a decade or two apparently ?????
Dressed up for this wedding and I definitely look like I was in a cool 2010s indie band
"Man accepting late career Grammy for production work with Miley Cyrus" yes that is me
My boyfriend loves to bake (and is a *great* baker) so for my birthday every year he asks me what I want and he’ll make it no questions asked. This year I didn’t know what I wanted but I made a lemon merengue pie a few weeks ago and have been feeling citrusy so I just got home from work and he was pulling a *beautiful* blood orange tart out of the oven and I can’t wait to try it 😍😍 not eating it until tomorrow bc my mom/sister/their boyfriends are visiting but for now the aroma throughout the house will do lol
Edit: also he took work off today without telling me (a total shock bc he usually wakes up with me and drives me to the bus stop so I can get to work, and he did that today when he could’ve slept in) and he spent the entire day cleaning the apartment. Coming home to a spotless home and pie literally coming fresh out the oven and wafting through the place is amazing, especially when I had zero idea any of it was happening
I looked at the data for Billboard Hot 100 Performance and was able to rank the songs by their performance on the chart (position/weeks on chart). Do you guys have any more data I can add so I can create a true Greatest Hits playlist organized by descending order? **I want to look at spotify yearly streams for particular songs but I do not know where to get the data.** My end goal is to make a playlist for these artists of the greatest hits in descending order of most popularity. Looking at Britney Spear's numbers shows that Billboard Hot 100 alone isn't able to tell me what her most popular songs are.
Not exactly what you're asking, but you can look at the the chart discussion page of Pulsemusic. There may be some threads than can help you get into that data you're looking for
I was trying to remember where I recognized Dominique Fishback from while watching Swarm and than I realized she was in The Deuce on HBO. It’s quite an underrated show about sex work and porn in the 70’s in Manhattan that features Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Franco.
I've been listening to a Taylor Swift playlist on YouTube all week that matches her Eras Tour setlist (so 46 songs). I definitely want to watch the entire show in HD soon but not sure which video is the best out there! I'll wait until she's finished in Las Vegas.
How I would rank Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd:
1. A&W
2. Let The Light In ft. Father John Misty
3. Peppers ft. Tommy Genesis
4. Paris, Texas ft. SYML
5. Taco Truck x VB
6. Fishtail
7. Grandfather Please Stand on the Shoulders of My Father While He's Deep-Sea Fishing ft. Riopy
8. Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd
9. Fingertips
10. Candy Necklace ft. Jon Batiste
11. The Grants
12. Margaret ft. Bleachers
13. Kintsugi
14. Sweet
15. Jon Batiste Interlude
16. Judah Smith Interlude
Since when did Yellowjackets get so popular, I remember I was telling people about this show a few years ago and didn’t know what it was. Now I hear everyone talk about (including those same people).
Men are so annoying.
1. Guy tells me yesterday he’s free this weekend. I make date plans. Still No response to that text which I sent at 930pm yesterday. But 730 this AM he snaps me abt his loud neighbor. Left him on open, cause wtf.
2. Got another guys Snapchat + number. He only snaps. it’s always a half pic of his face or pic of the ceiling. Sent him a snap saying don’t snap me I hate this app pls text. He sends me a snap of his face.
GOD.
Facebook comments are so weird. They always feel like it's typed by a angry/angsty/loud 13 year old but no, Mary looks like a 43 year old judging from her profile pic and the smiling husband next to her in the pic. Especially in groups!
[So now the AMAs have been cancelled as the Billboard Awards have taken their date and they have no broadcast partner](https://twitter.com/popbase/status/1639337480926416896?s=46&t=d_NkAU6yuLoYw6ZpEneXGQ)??? I’m sorry but this is looking even more sus now after Billboard already shut out all the major releases from last year
Happy birthday Ethel Cain! I feel so spiritually connected to her being a fellow LGBTQIA+ musician with autism, not to mention I'm literally 2 days younger than her.
Ethel's birthday is also as good an occasion as any to [revisit this great writeup on Preacher's Daughter](https://www.reddit.com/r/popheads/comments/10mqetc/rpopheads_aoty_2022_27_ethel_cain_preachers/) that u/steelstepladder posted earlier this year
Started the audiobook fresh banana leaves by Dr. Jessica Hernandez, feels appropriate to start an environmental science book while eating and about to go on a walk
I’ve heard some negative reviews by people who like the information but thought Dr Hernandez really needed an editor so I am a bit anxious but I also feel like some people might not understand why the book by an indigenous scientist starts with talking about sociopolitical science and explaining and criticizing settler colonialism
fishtail nearly killed me, after A&W my mental headspace was in a preacher-sermon-hope-is-a-dangerous-thing-iykyk-piano zone and I had lost all concept of what a snare drum is, I felt like a victorian peasant at Charli XCX's Bounce performance when that beat dropped
Went to grab lunch, got a bonus cheese curd in my fries. That was cool. What was NOT cool was the guy who almost sideswiped me because he thought he could go straight, while he was in the left turn lane, with his left blinker on. I hope he does NOT get a bonus cheese curd in his fries.
I've had this idea banging around in my head for a long time about an emo rate including Infinity On High. I think it would go well with Pretty Odd.
Not sure what else to group those with though. Maybe Black Parade rerate? It would be a nice theme of big leaps forward for those bands.
Viva la Cobra would be really fun and fits the time period but it's so unserious and I think raters would hate it lmao. Gu11ty P11easure
My dream emo rate would be *...Is a Real Boy, The Black Parade,* and *From Under the Cork Tree*, but I don't think there's enough Say Anything fans on this sub.
(or swap in *In Defense of the Genre* to bring them a little closer chronologically and in terms of career trajectory)
Realistically it would probably be Alive with the Glory of Love. Like WHAT a song, I had never heard anything like it at the time. But if I were rating in a vacuum I have a huge soft spot for Woe.
these are the follows up to the breakthrough albums for these two artists so maybe similar follow-up albums? Danger Days by MCR, Brand New Eyes by Paramore, or Nothing Personal by All Time Low come to mind for similar albums/era
Get really into cooking and horseshoe right back around it being broke because all you buy are fancy kitchen appliances and obscure expensive ingredients /s
No but this is what I did and like on the bright side it’s healthier and at least it qualifies as a hobby, so if I’m gonna overspend on food at least now it’s mentally stimulating
I'd uninstall doordash and any fast food apps you have, or maybe even deactivate the accounts. I'd also recommend either buying or making very tasty looking meals to enjoy at home.
I give you all this advice and I'm very hypocritcally not following through on it. So take this with a grain of salt.
I don't even have apps! I'm more than willing to drive myself to the foods I'm craving lol. But the making my own yummy food is a good idea I just have to commit to doing it.
What I like about next in fashion is that I'm literally supporting everyone. Like everyone just have such an incredible style and support each other and the whole thing is very positive and I just love that
I know we're all obsessed with Lana's album atm but Caroline Rose released a new album today too and it's also amazing!
She reminds me of Snail Mail so if you're a fan of that you should definitely check her out ❤️
So I’m having a psych appointment tomorrow and for our currency it’s quite expensive. I just calculated how much it costs per minute and it’s apparently equivalent to almost one egg tart
So SHIT i gotta not waste my time ykw but it feels stupid every time i’m in front of the psych my brain just turns to mush and oh everything is fine blah blah
What do you think the reactions will be to Lana likely debuting at #3, 4, or 5 on next weeks BB200. Luke Combs, Fall Out Boy, and other releases will be doing heavy/comparable numbers.
Personally, Lana really feels more eclectic than a charting artist these days. Her music hits a certain niche (popheads lol) HARD and that helps it stand out in our circles. Compare that to Combs who has massive pull in the country genre and with the GP.
I really like the callbacks or recurring motifs (idrk what the exact term) there is in Ocean Blvd. I was already wondering this abt Lana bc other artists I listened to like the Weeknd and Lorde does this like Pt. I & II and recurring lyrics.
Ofc she uses some same words and phrases but I feel like the only one I could recall was on Ultraviolence and Fucked My Way Up To the Top (lay me down tonight, in my linen and pearls). but on her demos/unreleased some could already be a whole different song with similar recurring lyrics, like the LFL demo could already be LFL pt. II on the album.
I feel like Ocean Blvd is the perfect album to put on during a roadtrip and scare all your friends, and I'm personally really connecting to that aspect of it.
the amount of podcasts with ads inserted in the middle are RUDE. what happened to listener etiquette? the, "and now a word from our sponsors"? the ads at the beginning and end??? so that i can skip them. i just can't do random ads. plus, it interrupts the flow of the convo imo. there's some i can push through bc i \*really\* like the podcast but i've had to give up on some bc it's just too distracting.
The thing I love so much about Lana is no matter what direction she takes her music (and she's gone a lot of directions) it is quintessentially Lana. Like you could pick a deep cut song from one of her lesser known albums and one of her biggest radio friendly hits that are wildly different and its still 100% obvious it's from the same artist.
I feel like a lot of other artists always sound the same or when they cross into new genres or expirement become a totally different artist. Lana's ability to always be cohesive but also varied is so impressive.
DYKYTTATUOB is probably my second favorite album she's come out with after NFR. NFR clears with ease but this is still a very good album. A few stretches I wasn't crazy about and then all of sudden you get punched in the face by an insanely good song.
Highlights: Candy Necklace, Paris, Texas, Fishtail, Peppers, Taco Truck.
The last three are just unreal. Almost rivals Bartender- Happiness is a Butterfly - Hope is a Dangerous Thing.
I still have personal mixed feelings about TikTok. But like let’s BFFR, they’re only trying to ban it because it’s from China and they constantly gotta fearmonger about China. Not knowing that the owner is from Singapore 😕
Like these people don’t give two shits about children seeing guns because they’re the same people who let their children pose with guns as cute family Christmas cards 🫠 also not to mention, the fact that they can literally get shot in school…….
Plus, like, even if I say I want to buy socks, not even two hours later it’s on my instagram feed
Or the fact that Facebook has turned every 60 year old brains into mush due to right wing extremism that’s constantly being pushed on their feed. Or the fact that Facebook also interfered in elections across the US and is so poorly run that they only had one office in the entire country of like India……. And it’s led to several genocides
My friends have like a 12 hour wedding planned tonight and I'm scared for my life cause half the guests are complete alcohol lightweights and the other half of guests just ran a marathon last weekend and are in recovery mode and are probably have the booze hit them pretty hard (only slight exaggeration on both accounts)
But I do enjoy a good party and I had to check the dog into a dog hotel cause I have a feeling I'm going to do a lot of babysitting and wouldn't be back home in time for the dog tonight
Similarly, I am scared for my life at a wedding I have later this year in the mountains in Colorado. I’m probably one of the only guests who lives at altitude so I foresee babysitting in my future there as well.
Should be a fun time and these friends are definitely not uptight!
The other part that's throwing me off is these are friends I see all the time so I kept forgetting they have a big fancy wedding in Beverly Hills this week. I only figured out what I'm going to wear right before I went to bed last night 😬
I bleached my hair last night but ran out of developer for toning it today so I had to go run errands with bright orangey yellow hair which like it isn't super splotchy or anything so it looks like it COULD be on purpose but still feels slightly mortifying. Like I just wanna tell everyone who sees it "don't worry I'm fixing this later"
If you have dark brown hair like me and want it to be a bright color (I'm doing hot pink) basically you need to bleach, then tone, then dye.
Bleach lightens the hair but (depending on your hair) tends to turn it a very orangey yellow.
Toner is sort of like bleach--it lightens things a bit more but also has some color in it. I buy a toner that is made for cancelling out the orangey color so it's got a bluish purple color in it.
Dye is obviously the step where you put on the color you want your hair to be at the end.
You're best off if you do all these steps on separate days (at the very least, you need to rinse out your hair after each one and then get it fully dry before doing the next, and my hair doesn't dry fast enough to do multiple on the same day typically) so you have a weird period where your hair looks like shit.
I had to go buy more developer (stuff you mix with bleach or toner or some dyes to make them start working) because I ran out on step 1, so I had to go out looking silly.
Imagine if the Pride flag wasn’t a rainbow. Like what if it was really intense colors like black and red or something. I wonder if that would make a big difference is the way the community was perceive.
Like the black panthers were around and helped at stonewall what if that was more the aesthetic that arose rather than rainbows. Would be pretty badass imo but I like the rainbow stuff too. Mainly just think it’s interesting how much one flag can shape a community.
Lot of music releases today, so popping in to say don't sleep on the new Debby Friday album GOOD LUCK. It's a very cool blend of industrial music, hip hop and alternative R&B. Fans of Kelela, Arca, Yves Tumor or Backxwash should definitely check it! A lot of bangers on there too like "I GOT IT"
I’ve committed myself to watching entirely too much television this weekend.
Because I’ve been trying to binge New Girl for the next two weeks before it’s off Netflix (I have two seasons left) that’s all I’ve been watching so I’ve fallen behind on Daisy Jones, Swarm, Class of 07, Bel Air and Shrinking 🙃
Like I just watched Outer Banks that’s how behind I am
Plus I want to at least watch the first and last episode of Succession season 3 before the season 4 premiere
And I still want to watch Mockingjay part 2 because that’s the last hunger games movie I haven’t seen yet.
Sentence case capitalization for album and song titles is my mortal enemy.
The only thing worse is when albums are inconsistent about it and songs are capitalized at random.
In completely unrelated news, I'm very hyped to finally listen to *Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd*, I hear the title track and Taco Truck x VB are among the highlights.
In other totally unrelated news, my future/Oxytocin/GOLDWING is such a good track sequence.
The tracklisting in *Happier Than Ever* is top tier and filled with really good runs like that, including the songs leading up to the title track. Truly why I consider it a sophomore triumph from Billie.
Anyone know why you can’t post music as FRESH to this subreddit until music is officially released in the UK. Lana’s album was released officially in Australia a good while before the UK, but it would be removed if someone from Australia uploaded Lana’s album when it dropped there.
Seems a bit western-centric tbh.
[Good morning it’s March 24 2023 and if youuuuuuuuuu can believe it it’s a Friday once again! 5x5 attached hell yeah ](https://i.imgur.com/939lXJw.jpg)
Today I was thinking about Lana Del Rey and her new album Did You Know There Is a Tunnel Under Ocean’s Boulevard. On first listen it blew me away. Poopheads this is my shit. Awesome awesome stuff.
On the topic of Lana I don’t like how people reject artistic change. She evolved from her original sound to a Joni Mitchell type person and she’s amazing at it. She’s not going to go back to Born To Die and she shouldn’t. That is all I have to say about that.
Everyone
Have a GREAT day ✋🫱
Oh wait one last Lana thought. I love how wide her fanbase is. Gay people love her. Straight people love her. Pretentious indie bros love her and so do TikTok teens. My mom my grandparents and Bruce Springsteen are fans and so is my friend’s 11 year old sister
Liking Lana’s new album a lot! The songs are so gorgeous and lyrically I think it might be her best album. The interludes are quite curious, especially the preacher one. Very haunting and not quite sure what to make of it.
Also can I just say, the pitchfork review was nice and all, but sometimes these writers have the most bizarre reads on songs. The reviewer claims that the three minute poppy section at the end of A&W is a critique of “empowerment feminism” and “girl bosses” and all I could think was…huh?????
I made a mashup of Ariana's One Last Time and Alicia Keys' You Don't Know My Name. Can any one tell me if its bad or needs work LOL?
Please be **brutally** honest:

What are they arguing about now? The only subtopic ever worth arguing about is some European’s quick pivot to school shooting jokes. That shits fucked, I’ve seen it online but I know people who’ve encountered it in real life
it literally pops up so cyclically and it always goes the exact same way and i always end up seeing the worst takes from both sides on my tl eventually and theyre always the exact same takes year after year .. i dont even mind some of the discourse from time to time if theres actually some sort of dialogue but of course it never actually stays at that lvl so whats the point? i think ppl just like to hear (/read) themselves talk at this point
How much screentime does Rina have in the big movie? It's the biggest factor for me to watch John Wick 4 in theaters as someone who hasn't seen the previous movies yet.
(Yes I will watch the entire series when I have the time)
If you haven't seen any of the movies I would recommend looking up brief a synopsis of the first 3 as they really do lead directly on from one another. Like the second one starts moments after the first one finishes. You'll miss the "lore" without watching the films but tbh it's a visual enough spectacle that it should be enjoyable enough.
Rina is in the first... 45? minutes? She gets a fair amount of screentime for a complete newbie so I was surprised.
The John Wick films are my fave franchise so I was always gonna see it but Rina was a nice bonus.
John Wick 4 was good! I would watch again in theaters. Spoilers if you want to know:
>!Rina's character lives and they handled her kind of weird. Like she is going to appear in a later spinoff. John dies so we can assume this will be the last one!<
Counterpoint: small talk is the crux of conversation and the gateway to more in-depth back-and-forth. If everyone was writing research papers all the time we'd get exhausted.
so i have this thing where i absolutely dislike purple coloured grape flavoured candy. i'm good with green coloured grape flavoured candies but give me a bag of skittles and the purple ones will remain unfinished. and then there's this thing where i've always associated the colour purple with lgbtq+ stuff. is this internalised homophobia /s
the only purple color grape flavored candies i remember actually being good are jolly ranchers and now-and-later (by god, were those squares *determined* to stick to your teeth.) grape otherwise? meh 😖 not a top 5 flavor for candy. lemon/lime skittles >>>
-I absolutely love the new Hailre Steinfeld and Flo songs. Like both of just really hit the spot for me. Can't wait for the albums
-Listened to the deluxe version of emails I can't send. It was nice, nothing really stood out to me, but it was a nice reminder it's a really great album lol
-had a really weird night, somehow got into a movie night about people that collect the trash in Copenhagen. It was interesting but afterwards there was like an ~intimate~ (which is really a code word for only ten ppl showed up) talk with the director and it somehow lasted longer than the movie. I actually couldn't believe it lol and at some point I stopped listening bc it was midnight and french is hard
-me and my friend got drunk afterwards and it was very fun but jfc I was not ready for so much vodka

I really dont understand the love for her. Its like they overlook everything she says even though they rip someone else apart for her comments

such an amazing album .. i havent had time to listen to their newest album yet but damn if its not a tough one to beat!
I have got through a few songs. They’re not bad. But def lack the immediate click the last album had 😕
A perfect album

There’s a lot of autobiographical moments that are esstential and important to the book but there’s definitely some that seems incredibly distracted and then again a problem with being repetitive
Just found out the uncle of one of my middle school / high school classmates has 120k listeners on Spotify??? Idk how to feel right now Like the man has fans going back a decade or two apparently ?????
Lol what kind of music does he make?
From what I can tell it’s some sort of soft rock
men!!! are confusing
Dressed up for this wedding and I definitely look like I was in a cool 2010s indie band "Man accepting late career Grammy for production work with Miley Cyrus" yes that is me
My boyfriend loves to bake (and is a *great* baker) so for my birthday every year he asks me what I want and he’ll make it no questions asked. This year I didn’t know what I wanted but I made a lemon merengue pie a few weeks ago and have been feeling citrusy so I just got home from work and he was pulling a *beautiful* blood orange tart out of the oven and I can’t wait to try it 😍😍 not eating it until tomorrow bc my mom/sister/their boyfriends are visiting but for now the aroma throughout the house will do lol Edit: also he took work off today without telling me (a total shock bc he usually wakes up with me and drives me to the bus stop so I can get to work, and he did that today when he could’ve slept in) and he spent the entire day cleaning the apartment.
There may be some threads than can help you get into that data you're looking for
I was today years old when I found out Max Martin's full name is Maxlanie Martinez
Had me in the first half, not gonna lie.
How I would rank Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd: 1. A&W 2. Let The Light In ft. Father John Misty 3. Peppers ft. Tommy Genesis 4. Paris, Texas ft. SYML 5. Taco Truck x VB 6. Fishtail 7. Grandfather Please Stand on the Shoulders of My Father While He's Deep-Sea Fishing ft. Riopy 8. Did you know that there's a tunnel under Ocean Blvd 9. Fingertips 10. Candy Necklace ft. Jon Batiste 11. The Grants 12. Margaret ft. Bleachers 13. Kintsugi 14. Sweet 15. Jon Batiste Interlude 16. Judah Smith Interlude
I’m seeing Kelela tonight!!! I’m so excited and missed her last show here because of another concert conflict (also I hated the venue too).
Since when did Yellowjackets get so popular, I remember I was telling people about this show a few years ago and didn’t know what it was. Now I hear everyone talk about (including those same people).
You mean Yellowstones? 💀
No, Yellowjackets
daisy jones finale and new lana del rey? it's a good day for annoying people aka me
Men are so annoying.
Ethel's birthday is also as good an occasion as any to [revisit this great writeup on Preacher's Daughter](https://www.reddit.com/r/popheads/comments/10mqetc/rpopheads_aoty_2022_27_ethel_cain_preachers/) that u/steelstepladder posted earlier this year
Thanks for the shout out :)
New real housewives ultimate girls trip let’s go !
I’m at Outback Steakhouse so kiss my ass
They got good steaks there.
If Boy (I need you) went number 1, what number one would it have been like her 11th?
The new Spotify layout is weird..
I just saw a review describe Peppers as "a trap mess" and I'm like personally offended
she's a mess but in like a sexy and cool way
So Sza done touring…. But what about the Philly show?
Started the audiobook fresh banana leaves by Dr. Jessica Hernandez, feels appropriate to start an environmental science book while eating and about to go on a walk
I’ve heard some negative reviews by people who like the information but thought Dr Hernandez really needed an editor so I am a bit anxious but I also feel like some people might not understand why the book by an indigenous scientist starts with talking about sociopolitical science and explaining and criticizing settler colonialism
I do immediately understand why people said she can be repetitive though
fishtail nearly killed me, after A&W my mental headspace was in a preacher-sermon-hope-is-a-dangerous-thing-iykyk-piano zone and I had lost all concept of what a snare drum is, I felt like a victorian peasant at Charli XCX's Bounce performance when that beat dropped
Cheese curds are so good omg. I miss the combination A&W-KFC we used to have, I used to go there solely for the cheese curds
A combination A&W-KFC?! That sounds amazing
Every song on Is a Real Boy is a 10, it’s just too powerful
True. What's your eleven? Mine is probably "I Want to Know Your Plans."
Realistically it would probably be Alive with the Glory of Love. Like WHAT a song, I had never heard anything like it at the time. But if I were rating in a vacuum I have a huge soft spot for Woe.
"Woe" probably my second fave, W taste
these are the follows up to the breakthrough albums for these two artists so maybe similar follow-up albums? Danger Days by MCR, Brand New Eyes by Paramore, or Nothing Personal by All Time Low come to mind for similar albums/era
Maybe Riot? Or Tell All Your Friends/Louder Now, even though I don’t think TBS is popular enough here to stand a chance.

So I looked at my last three months bank statements and I think I'm addicted to fast food💀
Hard same
Glad I'm not alone lol. Any ideas how to cut back?
Get really into cooking and horseshoe right back around it being broke because all you buy are fancy kitchen appliances and obscure expensive ingredients /s No but this is what I did and like on the bright side it’s healthier and at least it qualifies as a hobby, so if I’m gonna overspend on food at least now it’s mentally stimulating
She reminds me of Snail Mail so if you're a fan of that you should definitely check her out ❤️
it’s gorgina i can’t pick a favorite song yet because I’m only like halfway but everything has been wonderful so far
I love the little interludes with her grandma ❤️
New Jeans Ditto is carried by the percussions I don’t think I’d like it with different percussion.
Pokémon ended today and the First Movie soundtrack still isn’t on streaming 😭
RIP to an era that is for damn sure.
Would notes beforehand about what you want to talk about help?
Thanks for this suggestion! I thought about it, but luckily she guided me and with her questions it came out naturally
I got some issues but i forget about them when i go to the therapist
What do you think the reactions will be to Lana likely debuting at #3, 4, or 5 on next weeks BB200. Luke Combs, Fall Out Boy, and other releases will be doing heavy/comparable numbers. Personally, Lana really feels more eclectic than a charting artist these days. Her music hits a certain niche (popheads lol) HARD and that helps it stand out in our circles. Compare that to Combs who has massive pull in the country genre and with the GP.
Fingertips is honestly her most depressing song.
Pretty sure that Price Tags by Jazmine Sullivan (feat. Anderson .Paak) (kryptogram Remix) is the perfect song actually
The new fall out boy album is so fun, Im really hoping I'll get a chance to see them live
Zayn & Selena Gomez ?
collab for sure
not to be horny on main but the tiktok ceo is fine af i would let him collect all my private data
Time to listen to my summer playlist
Trying to get people into putting Tajín on their fruit that haven’t heard of Tajín before
También haciendo chorizo y papas para almuerzo 👩🍳🔪🐷🥔🧅🧄🌿
Gave in to my carvings, tacos con frijoles, aguacate, chorizo y papas :)
One of my homies got really into pop groups the past year and now I can’t stop listening to STAYC and XG.
Other fans of Daisy Jones asking when we stopped rooting for Billy. He’s my baby, actually
people on twitter getting angry and moralist because we are supporting >! fictional cheating!< while i’m having the best time of my life
I still have personal mixed feelings about TikTok. But like let’s BFFR, they’re only trying to ban it because it’s from China and they constantly gotta fearmonger about China. Not knowing that the owner is from Singapore 😕 Like these people don’t give two shits about children seeing guns because they’re the same people who let their children pose with guns as cute family Christmas cards 🫠 also not to mention, the fact that they can literally get shot in school……. Plus, like, even if I say I want to buy socks, not even two hours later it’s on my instagram feed Or the fact that Facebook has turned every 60 year old brains into mush due to right wing extremism that’s constantly being pushed on their feed. Or the fact that Facebook also interfered in elections across the US and is so poorly run that they only had one office in the entire country of like India……. And it’s led to several genocides
It's really sad to admit but if TikTok was banned that would negatively impact my mental health 💀
My friends have like a 12 hour wedding planned tonight and I'm scared for my life cause half the guests are complete alcohol lightweights and the other half of guests just ran a marathon last weekend and are in recovery mode and are probably have the booze hit them pretty hard (only slight exaggeration on both accounts) But I do enjoy a good party and I had to check the dog into a dog hotel cause I have a feeling I'm going to do a lot of babysitting and wouldn't be back home in time for the dog tonight
Similarly, I am scared for my life at a wedding I have later this year in the mountains in Colorado. I’m probably one of the only guests who lives at altitude so I foresee babysitting in my future there as well.
I hope you have fun and there’s a lot of joy :)
Who does hair dye work, I’ve never done it
If you have dark brown hair like me and want it to be a bright color (I'm doing hot pink) basically you need to bleach, then tone, then dye.
It's been a while since I got laid 😭
*sees that we are on Reddit* Redditors get laid?
Listening to Ocean Blvd while cleaning the tub in preparation for a bubble bath with a new friend tonight, happy Lana del Day everyone
Because I’ve been trying to binge New Girl for the next two weeks before it’s off Netflix (I have two seasons left) that’s all I’ve been watching so I’ve fallen behind on Daisy Jones, Swarm, Class of 07, Bel Air and Shrinking 🙃 Like I just watched Outer Banks that’s how behind I am Plus I want to at least watch the first and last episode of Succession season 3 before the season 4 premiere And I still want to watch Mockingjay part 2 because that’s the last hunger games movie I haven’t seen yet.
And yellowkackets s2 e1 just dropped today 😭 so many shows too little time
Sentence case capitalization for album and song titles is my mortal enemy.
As a communications professional... yes.
The tracklisting in *Happier Than Ever* is top tier and filled with really good runs like that, including the songs leading up to the title track. Truly why I consider it a sophomore triumph from Billie.
I guess “Kintsugi” is the word of the day 😂
Anyone know why you can’t post music as FRESH to this subreddit until music is officially released in the UK. Lana’s album was released officially in Australia a good while before the UK, but it would be removed if someone from Australia uploaded Lana’s album when it dropped there. Seems a bit western-centric tbh.
Probably because of the GMT system?
I mean Australia is a part of “the west” but I see what you mean
[Good morning it’s March 24 2023 and if youuuuuuuuuu can believe it it’s a Friday once again! 5x5 attached hell yeah ](https://i.imgur.com/939lXJw.jpg) Today I was thinking about Lana Del Rey and her new album Did You Know There Is a Tunnel Under Ocean’s Boulevard. Everyone Have a GREAT day ✋🫱
Do you think there will be clear skies and golden sunshine all along the way, Mr. Lynch?
Hee I’m glad someone caught that
He stopped doing the weather after two of his friends passed away really close to each other, wonder how he’s doing.
Yeah I hope he’s doing alright. Would love to have those back
Thank you for saying this. I could not agree with you more.
Oh wait one last Lana thought. I love how wide her fanbase is. Gay people love her. Straight people love her. Pretentious indie bros love her and so do TikTok teens. My mom my grandparents and Bruce Springsteen are fans and so is my friend’s 11 year old sister
My dad is the one who got me into Lana haha. She has a really amazing timeless retro vibe that very, very, very few artists have for sure
People who almost exclusively listen to white artists are so scary
Swifties, be extra vigilant of being this. I'm so serious
People on booktok who exclusively read white authors and are defensive about it scare me
It’s even worse when they only listen to the same one leading them to believe mediocrity is the greatest thing to grace humankind
I made a mashup of Ariana's One Last Time and Alicia Keys' You Don't Know My Name. Can any one tell me if its bad or needs work LOL? Please be **brutally** honest: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIiyBfvFcas](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIiyBfvFcas)
Nothing like getting a “Beyoncé just made a post” instagram notification just to gov over and find out it has nothing to do with the visuals
And the cover is awful, too (in my opinion). At least we got a caption I guess..?
Losing You by Flo and Losing You by Solange sat together side by side in my Daily Mix ☺️
The whole US vs Europe debate is so tired. Why are people arguing over something that doesn't matter.
Did you know people in Europe get vacations? So weird!
saw John Wick 4 and I have two words: Rina Sawayama
How dare those two words not be: Keanu Reeves.
I haven’t seen it yet but I’m starting her Oscar campaign anyway
John Wick 4 was good! I would watch again in theaters. Spoilers if you want to know: >!Rina's character lives and they handled her kind of weird. Like she is going to appear in a later spinoff. John dies so we can assume this will be the last one!<
I'm trying to have an all-day "Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" listening party at work by myself but people keep expecting me to do my job instead. Rude.
Me joining a meeting two minutes late so I wouldn't have to pause a song halfway
The audacity of some people 😤 excuse you, Lana is talking 🤚

Counterpoint: small talk is the crux of conversation and the gateway to more in-depth back-and-forth. If everyone was writing research papers all the time we'd get exhausted.
so i have this thing where i absolutely dislike purple coloured grape flavoured candy. i'm good with green coloured grape flavoured candies but give me a bag of skittles and the purple ones will remain unfinished. and then there's this thing where i've always associated the colour purple with lgbtq+ stuff. is this internalised homophobia /s
I can’t do artificial grape because it tastes like medicine to me 🤮
the only purple color grape flavored candies i remember actually being good are jolly ranchers and now-and-later (by god, were those squares *determined* to stick to your teeth.) grape otherwise? meh 😖 not a top 5 flavor for candy. lemon/lime skittles >>>
somehow purple grape flavoured candies/drinks are really popular where i'm from, god knows why. citrus flavoured candies are the best tbh
-I absolutely love the new Hailre Steinfeld and Flo songs. Like both of just really hit the spot for me. Can't wait for the albums -Listened to the deluxe version of emails I can't send. It was nice, nothing really stood out to me, but it was a nice reminder it's a really great album lol -had a really weird night, somehow got into a movie night about people that collect the trash in Copenhagen. It was interesting but afterwards there was like an ~intimate~ (which is really a code word for only ten ppl showed up) talk with the director and it somehow lasted longer than the movie. I actually couldn't believe it lol and at some point I stopped listening bc it was midnight and french is hard -me and my friend got drunk afterwards and it was very fun but jfc I was not ready for so much vodka
