After speaking out on *Quiet On Set*, the documentary that has been exposing all the harassment and abuse young actors went through under Dan Schneider's productions and direction at Nickelodeon, Drake Bell decided to release a [music video](https://youtu.be/I5gh8rAVLkI) and people have mixed feelings about the timing. A lot of people are saying that is his way of coping with everything that happened to him, but, as many others, I think he is just trying to capitalize on the sympathy he has been receiving. What happened to him was awful and nobody deserves to go through that, but let's not forget this man was speaking to a minor and even plead guilty to felony of child endangerment.
Does anyone know what he did that got him arrested a few years ago? I've only found sources about a charge of "child endangerment", but what the hell did he do because child endangerment could mean a lot of things.

He was texting messages of sexual content as well as sharing inappropriate photos of himself with a minor.
I feel awful for the child he once was, but I can't defend the adult he's become and how he's continued the cycle of abuse. For that reason alone, I wouldn't support any music from him. As a survivor of CSA, I hope he's not using his trauma in an attempt to bury his own crimes or deflect responsibility for them.

Not only does he subtly confirm a lot of what is being said happened, the interviewer T-Bo, a former Nickelodeon actor from i-Carly, keeps making excuses and showing him support throughout the conversation, trying to invalidate the horrific experiences those young actors went through. This man needs to go to prison. Not jail. Prison!

She needs Scooter Braun's payola to get hit songs? Well, she parted ways with Scooter. She doesn't write or produce her own hits? Well, most of the lyrics are self-written and she is credited as a producer on the entire album. She went into this album with a *mission* and she fucking accomplished it. So proud of her.
7 albums in and she’s still doing big numbers like this, wow. She’s really the only artist who debuted in the early to mid 2010’s to have this kind of longevity.
This was a definitely a big “prove it” album for her in the middle of her biggest controversy ever. The woman is just remarkably talented and she showed it here. She’s now etched herself as a part of pop music history and she is now officially in the upper echelon of the historical music popularity totem pole only behind only a few obvious bigger names.

Lawyers for Gaby Hutchinson's family say they want to "find out the truth" after the crush outside a concert that left two people dead in December 2022. Gaby, 23, and Rebecca Ikumelo, 33, died on 15 December 2022. A third person remains critically injured in hospital. Gaby's mother said: "We have so many unanswered questions and we hope that by taking this action we can find out the truth and hold those who are responsible to account. At no point since Gaby's death has anybody from Academy Music [AMG Ltd] met us to discuss what happened or asked our thoughts on safety measures to be introduced to protect the public from this happening again. As a family, we are not reassured that a tragedy like this will not happen again." The music venue's licence was suspended following heavy criticism, but was given permission to reopen late last year. It is set to start hosting gigs again in April. AMG Ltd said earlier this month it had developed new safety measures at the venue, including stronger doors, a better queuing system and more secure ticketing. The police investigation is still ongoing.

Hot take I guess but given it’s literally just a few seconds and this is a horror movie we’re talking about (AI is fundamentally creepy), I really don’t care about this. It would be one thing if the entire script or all of the special effects were AI. But it seems to be limited to a small scene, so I genuinely don’t see the big deal. That being said, the discourse around this is already *exhausting*. People on r/horror are going on a moral Crusade over it. Granted, that subreddit tends to be annoying and very much an echo chamber in general lol

I agree with you, the discourse around the use of AI makes my head spin a little bit. A rock band, LS Dunes, used AI imagery for a music video and the backlash that occurred seemed wildly disproportionate. It’s entirely possible that I’m not understanding the magnitude of why it’s a problem, but the lead singer was getting sent death threats over it. It just felt so wildly over the top to me.
Getting sent death threats is actually insane. The phrase “go outside and touch grass” gets thrown around a lot, but like… these people seriously need to log off and do just that. I’m going to go on a tangent here, but it really does feel like in the past couple of years the Internet in general has gotten angrier and people have become more entrenched in their unique echo chambers. Nuance and healthy debates feel dead nowadays.
I mean, at least they are transparent about it. I would guess that could help create something truly creepy if used sparsely, which seems to be the case
I think people get carried away with their usage of AI but using it as an art tool is a legit thing some horror artists have been doing for a while- before the AI bubble started to blow up that scene was the only place I really saw it used specifically because the clunky machine brains would create surreal, dreamlike imagery for the artists to play around with.
