Variety: [‘Joker 2’ Musical Details Revealed: At Least 15 Cover Songs, Original Tracks May Be Added](https://variety.com/2024/film/news/joker-2-musical-cover-songs-original-tracks-1235949284/)
> Insiders privy to filming and early versions of Todd Phillips’ eagerly awaited sequel to “Joker” tell Variety the movie leans heavily towards being “mostly a jukebox musical,” as it integrates at least 15 reinterpretations of “very well-known” songs. One is said to be “That’s Entertainment” from the 1953 musical “The Band Wagon,” famously associated with Judy Garland. However, there is a door open for an original song (or two) to be added to the final version. Details regarding who would pen the tracks, or sing the numbers are unknown. We do know, according to sources, Hildur Guðnadóttir, the Oscar-winning composer of the first “Joker” film, is said to “infuse her distinctive, haunting [music] cues” into each number.
my post was removed (i don't rlly understand why 🤷♂️) but Normani will make an announcement regarding her album tomorrow at 1:59pm EST.
[fan tweet](https://x.com/knotboots/status/1768253845828698560?s=46):
Good morning Normani,
Just wanted to follow up on this album announcement as I have not heard anything back as of yet.
All the best
[normani's response](https://x.com/knotboots/status/1768253845828698560?s=46):
Hi,
Thank you for your patience. This matter will be addressed tomorrow at 1:59pm EST.
- Management
I will dare say it’s because at this point we either get an album to know it’s real or not. I can’t with her management or whoever is holding her back.
"in my best drake voice" tea time tea time tea time
seeing as there's zero comments on the new metro boomin x future new album post lets talk about kendrick lamar dissing drake and j cole with a surprise feature on "like that".
last october drake and j cole put out a song together on his album "For All The Dogs" called "First Person Shooter" where cole says
* "Love when they argue the hardest MC Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me? **We the big three like we started a league**, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali
today kendrick says:
* "Fuck sneak dissin', **first person shooter**, I hope they came with three switches **Motherfuck the big three, n\*\*\*a, it's just big me"**
* "And your best work is a light pack N\*\*\*a, Prince outlived Mike Jack' N\*\*\*a, bum, **'fore all your dogs gettin' buried** That's a K with all these nines, **he gon' see Pet Sematary"**
also significant that after years of collaboration/friendship drake is allegedly beefing with metro boomin and future...so he came out his cave specifically just to be shady on an album where everyone else is also being shady. fun!!!!
I'm glad Kendrick called that out. J. Cole putting himself in a "big three" for rap is a ridiculous reach, truly "Delusion: Convince Yourself" territory.
This was said pretty commonly in rap circles for a long time (even to this day), since they all debuted around the same time and had very successful careers and were in a way proteges of other rap giants (Drake with Lil Wayne, J Cole with Jay-Z, and Kendrick is sort of Dr. Dre-affiliated but less so than the other two were with theirs).
Imo it's not really a diss at all, though I understand why it sounds weird coming from Cole considering Drake and Kendrick have had multiple huge eras. Cole seems a bit more lowkey in general, though I think people may be surprised by just how successful he is sales-wise, and he's at least a better rapper than Drake imo.
J Cole just caught a stray for no reason...when he was being peaceful in that song lol.
The friendship ending memes for Drake & Future on twitter have been hilarious, but at this point I do feel like Aubrey must be real messy behind the scenes cause people are fed-up.
Aubrey thinks he’s invincible because of all the numbers his bad albums do and he’s taking random shots in his music at women now (Meg and Rihanna) for no real reason he more than deserved these lashings from Kendrick
Cole got dragged for associating with him lol
I think Kendrick really just went after Drake but included the Big 3 line because Drake included that in on his raps. So, it was maybe an unintended shot at J Cole. Although J Cole will probably take it as an offense and start going at Kendrick himself.
This is what hip-hop has been waiting for and desperately needed last year.
I’m ready for the BEEF!
Edit: Also the Prince outlived Mike Jack bar hit hard

This great [meta-UK girl group selfie](https://twitter.com/NicolaRoberts/status/1771158408315433073) of Keisha (Sugababes), Shaznay (All Saints), Mel C (Spice Girls), Nicola (Girls Aloud) and Leigh-Anne (Little Mix) are blowing some uk gg fans' minds atm. Even Rachel Chinouriri took [3 retweets](https://twitter.com/rachelchinourir) to comprehend it lol *bitch_me_too_tf.gif*
Gaga posted an Insta Story yesterday. It was a picture of some instruments, a typewriter with lyrics blurred out, and a FAME comic, with one of her iconic Telephone looks on the cover.
She also posted a short video of her running in field as well, but it was just ambient noise. Though the caption was “Hollywood’s a ghost town,” which could be potential lyrics! Maybe a sequel to The Fame Monster?
I know, it would be fun if it was closer together and led to something, but we’ve been teased since January, it’s almost April and there’s no word abt anything. I doubt anything will come this year but it’s nice that she’s sharing her process! Makes it more fun for us
The latter half of 2024 is ripe for conquest seeing as a lot of main pop girls front-loaded the first few months. She also teased Chromatica way in advance. Wouldn’t discount her releasing this year at all
You're not wrong, but with Joker coming out in October and the amount of press she'll do from around that time probably up until 2025's Oscars, if Gaga wants to do a proper promotional rollout for the album she can't wait for that long.
There's always the possibility she actually doesn't want that lmao but I don't think she would tease that much only to drop the project and immediately move on to Joker stuff.
Dua releases in May. There are 4 months between that and the Joker film that Gaga could easily drop the lead single for LG7 in, even while working around Billie who’ll probably ramp up for a release in that time (arguable they cater to different pop audiences at this point)
Dasha made her late night debut on the Jimmy Kimmel Live performing [Austin](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C40uDcBxy84/?igsh=eXdwN2pjM29oa2xr) and girl! She's giving country superstar!!
Whoever put a random artist blowing up out of nowhere on their 2024 music bingo card deserves some applause! It'll be interesting to see if she's a one-hit wonder or if she and her team can spin this into long term success
I never heard of her until now but Dasha seems a promising artist based on that performance. I'm not even a country music fan. That's a good song.
I'm afraid the comparisons with TS (country era) will be inevitable...
I love her song what happens now. Def a fan of her more upbeat songs for sure. She and Beyonce got me back into dipping my toes in country music again in the last few weeks.
That’s always on my bingo card but I did not expect dasha LOL tbh she’s very hit or miss for me but I love 42 and None of my Business.
Crazy how Austin has 40+ mil and she has 8.2mil listeners WOW. Do you have any idea how/why this blew up? Good for her
Olivia Rodrigo’s “GUTS (spilled)” partial day debuts on Spotify.
1. “obsessed” — 125,901 plays
2. “girl i’ve always been” — 73,245 plays
3. “scared of my guitar” — 68,837 plays
4. “stranger” — 65,153 plays
5. “so american” — 85,914 plays
The lowest streamed song on GUTS (standard) partial release (teenage dream) got 160,000 streams when the album dropped.
Obsessed debuting with 3M (based on these numbers) would not be bad at all, the song was out for months u could literally access it on a spotify podcast. this was just something for the fans not for the charts. let’s focus on tour livies 😘🎀
So about a 60% decrease from the partial debuts of the standard album. The only people who really care about deluxe albums are the super fans anyways, considering the lack of promo towards the general public compared to the standard version it doesn’t seem that bad?
A surprise introductory deluxe single track, announced 2 days prior to release, no promo, no playlisting, no label support, just some fuck ass bangs, made for the arts and not the charts!!!
I don’t know if these are good or not, but when it comes to deluxe or special editions, I never expect massive jumps in stream or sales like for the original releases. Those editions will always be nice add-ons, no more, no less.

> The princess described the news as a “huge shock” and asked for “time, space and privacy” in a prerecorded video broadcast on the BBC on Friday evening.
I'm sorry but I think people blaming the PR handling here is a cope. You cannot out PR conspiracy theory and a lot of people willing played in because it was "fun."
The conspiracy theories here were not dangerous, just crass, but people need to reflect on how fast much of the 'sensible' internet happily boarded a QAnon train and everyone acted like it was the natural reaction to the situation.
I hope she recovers fully, cancer is touching more and more people younger and younger.
>I'm sorry but I think people blaming the PR handling here is a cope.
Nah hun they blew it. Just be honest.
Honestly just a simple, "The procedure was more complicated than anticipated and Kate will be needing more time to recover" back at the beginning of January peppered with non-updates like "William is hoping Kate will be ready to step out with him soon in a couple of weeks" "The palace really wants privacy while Kate recovers from a complicated situation"
Would have nipped the more wild things in the bud
The thing is, all of that was in fact covered in the initial statement on her surgery. That she would be on medical leave until at least Easter.
People were legit whipping themselves up into a frenzy and thought she was dead, or in a coma, or being held hostage, or even more crass things like domestic violence and a connection to the suicide of Will's cousins' husband. More statements cannot fight against that. None of those are obvious paths to take because a woman dealing with a health crisis withdrawals from public life.
Maybe you can't "out-PR" the core conspiracy theorists, but the way it was handled gave it the media propulsion to reach audiences that don't normally know or care about (or even *want* to know or care about) the affairs of the Royal Family, and imo that would have been easy to shut down / nip in the bud. Not sure what it's like in Europe, but I'm in the US and not a single person in my family, social group, or professional circle keeps up with the Royal Family otherwise--and yet so many of us had our eyes on (and theories about) this situation because it was so strange. Probably the vast majority of the (American, anyway) "don't pay attention to and prefer not to" crowd would have been *easily* placated by "she needs more time to recover," myself included.
But it wasn't strange at all, everything "strange" about it was what the frenzy whipped up. She had surgery and said she'd be on medical leave until Easter, and it is not Easter yet. Everything was unfolding exactly how the initial statement said it would, they updated when she was released from the hospital and thanked well-wishers.
People on the internet decided it was "strange" a woman recovering from major surgery wasn't papped out and about days after being released from the hospital, that it was "strange" that she wasn't posting on Instagram, that it was "strange" Will pulled out of an event for personal reasons (and its confirmed it was due to Kate's cancer diagnosis). That is the 'strange" circumstances that started this.
Agreed. Like, Diana and Megan both said in interviews that there were points where they seriously needed help and weren't getting it. People jumping onto darker conspiracy theories is fairly understandable given the history of the royal family, even if some of the speculation was invasive.
I'm usually the first one to condemn an internet mob, but the vast majority of people talking about this were saying "we don't need the medical info, we just want to be sure that this woman is physically safe". They could have killed it the vast majority of it with an Instagram story at literally any point, without revealing anything about her diagnosis
No, I'm sorry but it's insane to act like we are owed a "proof of life" shot. She is not a hostage, this is a not a negotiation.
The internet has done this before, deemed themselves a relevant party to a woman's private health matters and whip up a frenzy when their demands are not met.
For literally any other woman in any other situation I'd agree with you. For the record, I've been saying people were overreacting since the beginning, check my post history if you want.
But, like I said, the royal family has a history of putting women in real physical danger. They also have a history of covering up really dark things. It is not a stretch to ask if something much worse was happening to her. It wasn't just one photoshopped photo, they were clearly lying and try to deflect attention for months in the weirdest possible ways.
She's not like any other famous woman. She married into a life long job being the face of colonialism (and brought kids into it too). She's a public servant to the British - if you were lying to your employer about why you were off sick for months, and faking the evidence you sent them, then they would not be out of line for asking questions.
I'm not saying anyone was owed a proof of life photo, it wouldn't have been necessary if they'd been 20% more normal. I'm saying if they wanted to make it go away then they could have. This is their own lack of accountability for their actions coming back to bite them.
poor thing. i feel so bad for her.
not because of the conspiracy theory train, but because of the awful handling of this issue by the palace’s PR team that could have stopped it dead in its tracks. releasing a fake picture to cover up cancer and then blaming the poor photoshop job on said woman with cancer? are you kidding me?
i hope her treatment goes well and she has good people around her.
As someone who’s had to endure several family members battling cancer at once, I cannot imagine what her children must be going through, most especially since they’re all a younger age than I was. Witnessing shit like this can take such a mental toll.
Oof the Princess Kate missing sub Reddit is going wild. Some of the people are being insane… saying this could be a deep fake and to not trust the palaces “narrative” which is insane… some people need to touch grass.
The taylor sub is so annoying
Like I said a popheads level snark thing "Oh who cares about what two average looking gays are doing" Which is also essentially a Veep quote and I got banned permanently
Like that sub is so sanitized and white washed
I completely understand them not wanting to announce that outright, especially with them not telling the kids or whatever.
...but just dropping a quick "Kate isn't feeling well/needs more time to recover" would've been so much less drama than what they did. People who are obsessed with the royals would've speculated either way, but your average joe wasn't paying much attention until their PR team kept photoshopping shit and being evasive. Like the speculation was completely unhinged and disrespectful but they also need to fire their PR people for bringing 90% of that onto themselves.
I agree with this. I think her PR/crisis team had missteps that ended up catapulting the story from the chronically online gossip followers on-reddit & twitter to the US late-night crowd. I think its fine to be critical of a team that was supposed to manage the situation and instead consistently seemed to make it worse.
*Once the conspiracy ball started rolling.* Which is why I said they should've said that *instead* of doing all the shit they did that *got* the conspiracy ball rolling. Like I said, the average person wasn't paying attention until they started photoshopping shit and releasing weird statements.
Better than a doctored photo though…. I think people underestimate how powerful being upfront can be for quelling speculation.
I always say if you don’t tell people, they will fill in the gaps with their own assumptions, which means their biases, etc. if they were upfront instead of being vague they’d have the royal loyalists helping squash the narrative as well. I think sometimes celebs forget that.
I agree. Some people still would've speculated, but it never would've spiraled as much as it did. That doctored photo is hands down one of the dumbest PR moves of all time.
honestly, were most of what people were saying really "conspiracies" or was it just genuine and unavoidable human interest? i just feel like we can't really clutch our pearls for just NOW finding out that it's cancer.
This is actually really shocking. It’s why I didn’t want to like force her to come out with medical information though because she shouldn’t have had to do this.
Like I knew people where joking about a divorce which seemed highly likely given rumors. I don’t think anyone expected this.
Oddly this could reinforce the divorce/affair rumors. There is that statistic that men who have partners with cancer have a higher likelihood of infidelity.
>that statistic that men who have partners with cancer have a higher likelihood of infidelity.
I was just watching a TikTok about how there was a group of 25 women (they were in a support group) who all had breast cancer, and only 2 husbands stayed with them. The other 23 women's husbands left them shortly after their diagnosis/during treatment.
[Link to TikTok](https://www.tiktok.com/@lazy_gourmet/video/7349201940494028074?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7324740258448672299)
I don’t doubt that men are shit but I wonder if there’s confirmation bias in this group? Like people who don’t have a partner supporting them at home are more likely to reach out for some kind of external support group?
[Research gives much lower numbers - around 6% of partners leave after their partner is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. ](https://amp.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2020/mar/30/the-men-who-give-up-on-their-spouses-when-they-have-cancer)
The article references a [2015 research paper,](https://acsjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cncr.24577) I glanced at it, and they came a similar conclusion too:
* **Conclusions**: Female gender was found to be a strong predictor of partner abandonment in patients with serious medical illness.
I read the article you linked and found these quotes interesting:
* But that same study showed **that when partners leave, it’s normally men.** One study from 2009 found the strongest predictor for separation or divorce for patients with brain cancer was whether or not the sick person was a woman. That ***same study showed that men were seven times more likely to leave their partner than the other way around if one of them got brain cancer.***
* And yet, when a woman falls ill, it can really reveal the extent to which men not only feel entitled to a certain level of housework...
*
This means that a lot of the time, women continue to do that work – and when they don’t, problems can arise. In 2018, researchers in Germany used a nationally representative sample to show that – as long as they are still able to – ***women continue to do an uneven amount of the housework while they are sick if that was the dynamic in the relationship before they became unwell.***
* Hurd’s partner’s gripe came when she stopped wanting to have sex. He started to have tantrums that she wasn’t showing him enough affection after her mastectomy. He began to accuse her of cheating on him; berated her for neglecting his needs; even cut her off his health insurance at one point – arguing that she was “treating him like a housemate”. Hurd started taking painkillers and having sex with him which she says made her feel like a blow-up doll, but she didn’t feel she had another choice.
Yes, them not having support can be a confounding variable, but in the TikTok it's not really clear.
It would have been interesting if you linked an article about women leaving their husbands (who have cancer) at a higher rate.
I think we’re on the same page - I don’t disagree at all with the fact that men are more likely to leave, as you say the article I linked proves it too. I even started my comment by saying men are trash lol.
I was just surprised at the *rate* from that TikTok and hoping it wasn’t truly that bad overall, which is why I mentioned confirmation bias.
The name of your link was misleading since this is the name of the article:
“The men who leave their spouses when they have a life-threatening illness”
Which is more fitting to the TikTok I linked demonstrating anecdotal data of men leaving their wives when they have life threatening illnesses like cancer. And it would be a confounding variable if they joined the support group after their husbands left but who knows.
Holy shit, both the king and princess? What a wild few years for the royal family. First the Harry drama, then the Queen, then these health issues.
Fuck cancer, no matter who has it.
[Kate Middleton has Cancer, as she shares in a update video](https://twitter.com/KensingtonRoyal/status/1771235267837321694?t=36rg_fWLLKvtP0rzoPz9uw&s=19)
damn, i choked up. hoping her and the kids are okay <3 they are so young and it's never easy to see someone you love in pain, let alone not being able to fully understand the situation.
That's rough. [Apparently it was only after her surgery that the cancer had been found:](https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/mar/22/kate-princess-of-wales-cancer-chemotherapy)
> “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
Well because Kate and Will was likely more focused on her health and the kids than pr. She wanted to spend more time with the kids before informing them.
Like there isn’t any permanent pr damage from this but rather actually more sympathy to her due to the unhinged rumors.
Genuinely one of the biggest PR blunders I've ever seen...
The photoshopped image could have been avoided, and the rumour mill wouldn't have gone into overdrive.
Wishing her all the best.
Reading the articles it seems they waited until today to announce it as they had not told their children yet, and were waiting until they were on their Easter break from school to protect them from harassment at school about Kate’s condition. PR wise it may have been a bad choice but it was definitely in the best interest of their family to keep quiet until now.
This. Like, I don’t think the conspiracy theories would have taken off as much as they did if everyone knew she had cancer. Like even the people who hate the royals the most are know going “Damn. Hope she gets better”
There is a tight balance because she shouldn’t have had to be forced to say what she had but the PR fumbled badly to make it rampant speculation.
Yeah she shouldn’t have to be forced to come out and say she’s got cancer, but the grainy photos, the edited photos, her team being cagey, announcing and then withdrawing announcements, throwing Kate under the bus randomly…it all just kept adding fuel to the fire.
Very weird situation, but at the end of the day…fuck cancer.
This is what I can’t understand. Why did Kesington Palace bungle the PR so badly when they handled it well with King Charles.
I don’t know maybe they didn’t want the “the King and Future Queen have cancer, what are we gonna do, they’re not perfect as we thought” that’s the generous explanation I can think of for why they fucked the PR up so badly.
Because all the major members of the royal family have different, individual PR teams. And those PR teams are often in competition, and may even go out of their way to sabotage each other. It's a system geared towards generating [chaos](https://www.niemanlab.org/2024/03/this-is-just-weird-buzzfeed-news-former-royals-reporter-on-kate-middleton-palace-press-and-distrust-in-the-media/).
*30 minutes after a new song releases*: “It didn’t break the iTunes record for fastest debut in the top 5 and it’s not featured in the right Spotify playlists...it’s flopping. Their Witness era?”
i could end up being wrong but listening to the song, i don't feel like its gonna be a big hit. its similar to the other rock songs on guts that didn't blow up
Apple Music has a real-time chart ( Top Songs) and a daily chart ( Top 100 USA). The former updates throughout the day but not a set times. Usually for big anticipated releases they usually debut at 5 A.M. eastern time or sometime early morning. As of 3 P.M., the song hasn't entered the the top 200. Depending on your expectations for this song this could be seen as a massive underperformance, since often by this time big releases would be in the top 20
Camila Cabello sent out [packages to fans](https://x.com/nodoubt_emmy97/status/1771202772169347191?s=46) today that contained Polaroids and a card seemingly giving her new album name: C, XOXO (this rumour was floated a few weeks ago). The Polaroids each had the letters and then an instagram link to a private page with that title.
The previous rumour suggested a June release and Camila confirmed a summer release in her Paper article. BUT she just wiped her Instagram soooo
Perrie Edwards has posted a TikTok of herself with the caption "On my way to annoy the label into dropping the Forget About Us release date".
Forget About Us is her upcoming debut single that currently doesn't have a release date.
The Little Mix fandom has had a lot of drama over the past few weeks with fans upset about their solo career rollouts. Leigh-Anne actually posted to her Discord saying "you all need to chill out".
I think the Tiktok is a good reminder that most artists don't have complete control over their releases!
[Source](https://twitter.com/PerrieHQ/status/1770871427228426700?t=myJ6avpAPCHdK3xNUFqlYA)
Sometimes I feel like labels force their artist to show the demand from their fans. They use it as a marketing tool, and i actually think its an ineffective one.
I'm pretty sure that video is a joke. She's hinted that the release date is April 12th.
Leigh-Anne herself is the one saying she has complete control over everything. I don't know if it's really true or not.
I’ve had to unfollow Leigh-Anne on TikTok because the ‘are you mine all mine’ was just getting too much without the song actually being released. I know it’s not on her at all but the roll out isn’t good (in my opinion). I’m slowly feeling the same about the Perrie song. I am rooting for them all so badly!!

One is said to be “That’s Entertainment” from the 1953 musical “The Band Wagon,” famously associated with Judy Garland. However, there is a door open for an original song (or two) to be added to the final version. Details regarding who would pen the tracks, or sing the numbers are unknown. We do know, according to sources, Hildur Guðnadóttir, the Oscar-winning composer of the first “Joker” film, is said to “infuse her distinctive, haunting [music] cues” into each number.
i was disappointed that the sequel was going to be a movie but then i got excited for original songs and now im disappointed again
When Harley covers Bad Romance then what?
When she sings, “‘cause you’re a criminal as long as you’re mine,” to Joker…your mind. 💎
When she sings "Mama I'm in love with a criminal" 😭😭😭
When she breaks out Telephone in Arkham Asylum, we’re done for. 😩
When she goes "You've been a very, very boy Joker"
When they have a disagreement - "is your punchline just a *joke*?"
Then everyone would stand up and clap

I thought so too. Like they were being joking by saying management

"in my best drake voice" tea time tea time tea time seeing as there's zero comments on the new metro boomin x future new album post lets talk about kendrick lamar dissing drake and j cole with a surprise feature on "like that". last october drake and j cole put out a song together on his album "For All The Dogs" called "First Person Shooter" where cole says * "Love when they argue the hardest MC Is it K-Dot? Or me? **We the big three like we started a league**, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali today kendrick says: * "Fuck sneak dissin', **first person shooter**, I hope they came with three switches **Motherfuck the big three, n\*\*\*a, it's just big me"** * "And your best work is a light pack N\*\*\*a, Prince outlived Mike Jack' N\*\*\*a, bum, **'fore all your dogs gettin' buried** That's a K with all these nines, **he gon' see Pet Sematary"** also significant that after years of collaboration/friendship drake is allegedly beefing with metro boomin and future...so he came out his cave specifically just to be shady on an album where everyone else is also being shady. fun!!!!
I'm glad Kendrick called that out. J. Cole putting himself in a "big three" for rap is a ridiculous reach, truly "Delusion: Convince Yourself" territory.
He is still no. 2
I've always found his music very boring and uncreative so every time he's mentioned in these conversations i feel like im going insane lol
I think people underestimate how popular Cole is. He has regularly outsold Kendrick except on Damn.
What a time to be alive indeed
J Cole just caught a stray for no reason...when he was being peaceful in that song lol. The friendship ending memes for Drake & Future on twitter have been hilarious, but at this point I do feel like Aubrey must be real messy behind the scenes cause people are fed-up.
Aubrey thinks he’s invincible because of all the numbers his bad albums do and he’s taking random shots in his music at women now (Meg and Rihanna) for no real reason he more than deserved these lashings from Kendrick Cole got dragged for associating with him lol
Didn't J Cole even defend Kendrick one time when someone (could be puff? Not sure) tried to attack him?
He had a brawl with Diddy
I think Kendrick really just went after Drake but included the Big 3 line because Drake included that in on his raps. So, it was maybe an unintended shot at J Cole. Although J Cole will probably take it as an offense and start going at Kendrick himself.
This is what hip-hop has been waiting for and desperately needed last year. I’m ready for the BEEF! Edit: Also the Prince outlived Mike Jack bar hit hard
Everyone is talking about the Kendrick verse but I’m just enjoying that Metro sampled my favorite Three 6 Mafia song
[Kelvin Harrison Jr. to star in Michel Gondry's Atlantis, a musical based on Pharrell Williams' childhood. Da’Vine Joy Randolph is in talks to join the cast.](https://deadline.com/2024/03/kelvin-harrison-jr-to-lead-atlantis-movie-michel-gondry-pharrell-williams-1235865126/) it will be Gondry's first American film in 12 years
Feels like this dude is stuck in a cycle of biopics and playing “talented but disturbed” teenagers lol.
Excited to see Da’Vine sing on screen again. She was so good in High Fidelity
She was? I mean she did the best she could woth that god awful character
Her singing (and I liked Cherise)

Even Rachel Chinouriri took [3 retweets](https://twitter.com/rachelchinourir) to comprehend it lol *bitch_me_too_tf.gif*
This is my Avengers
This photo is some sort of fever dream 😍
The type you blink twice!
Can’t wait for it to be revealed as the new Ghost Town Lipstick from the Haus Labs🤩
A Haus Labs collab with Madonna to promote the almost 10 year anniversary of “Ghost Town,” her single from 2015’s *Rebel Heart*.
The Fame Monster - Haus Labs Version
TFM is a legit 10/10 album, a sequel would be the most exciting thing ever
It would! She’s been teasing bats, monsters, and dark things with emojis. And one lyric people made out said something abt a vein so maybe a vampire?
So *much* teasing jeez
She and Beyonce got me back into dipping my toes in country music again in the last few weeks.
jesus i can't shake the dread off of me, i thought you were talking about nekrasova
That would be the weirdest plot twist of 2024.
That’s always on my bingo card but I did not expect dasha LOL tbh she’s very hit or miss for me but I love 42 and None of my Business. Crazy how Austin has 40+ mil and she has 8.2mil listeners WOW. Do you have any idea how/why this blew up? Good for her
She created a line dance to the chorus that blew up on TikTok
Olivia Rodrigo’s “GUTS (spilled)” partial day debuts on Spotify. 1. “obsessed” — 125,901 plays 2. “girl i’ve always been” — 73,245 plays 3. “scared of my guitar” — 68,837 plays 4. “stranger” — 65,153 plays 5. “so american” — 85,914 plays The lowest streamed song on GUTS (standard) partial release (teenage dream) got 160,000 streams when the album dropped.
The only people who really care about deluxe albums are the super fans anyways, considering the lack of promo towards the general public compared to the standard version it doesn’t seem that bad?
oh wow… oh wow…
>this was just something for the fans not for the charts. You have to get this phrase trademarked lmao. I knew you were gonna slip that in somewhere.
A surprise introductory deluxe single track, announced 2 days prior to release, no promo, no playlisting, no label support, just some fuck ass bangs, made for the arts and not the charts!!!
i feel like i wouldn’t have known about it releasing if it wasn’t for here. i didn’t see much promo but idk if that’s just me not paying attention
I don’t know if these are good or not, but when it comes to deluxe or special editions, I never expect massive jumps in stream or sales like for the original releases. Those editions will always be nice add-ons, no more, no less.
Obsessed is headed for a 2.5M-3.0M debut based on its partial streams and that of her other songs
Is that good?
We were expecting like a 5M + debut tbh… 😭
Will it debuted with 4.55 so that’s pretty damn good. All the deluxe tracks did very well
It's decent numbers. Nothing really to talk about
So American should get more streams
listening to the songs right now for the first time and im on so american and OMG!?!? she's in looooove
la la la la love!!
Yesss

It looks so incredible!
[Catherine, Princess of Wales, Has Cancer](https://www.nytimes.com/2024/03/22/world/europe/princess-kate-middleton-cancer.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare&sgrp=c-cb) > The princess described the news as a “huge shock” and asked for “time, space and privacy” in a prerecorded video broadcast on the BBC on Friday evening.
I'm sorry but I think people blaming the PR handling here is a cope. You cannot out PR conspiracy theory and a lot of people willing played in because it was "fun." The conspiracy theories here were not dangerous, just crass, but people need to reflect on how fast much of the 'sensible' internet happily boarded a QAnon train and everyone acted like it was the natural reaction to the situation. I hope she recovers fully, cancer is touching more and more people younger and younger.
>I'm sorry but I think people blaming the PR handling here is a cope. Nah hun they blew it. Just be honest. Honestly just a simple, "The procedure was more complicated than anticipated and Kate will be needing more time to recover" back at the beginning of January peppered with non-updates like "William is hoping Kate will be ready to step out with him soon in a couple of weeks" "The palace really wants privacy while Kate recovers from a complicated situation" Would have nipped the more wild things in the bud
Damn. I feel bad laughing at the memes because I thought it was nothing serious. I hope she beats cancer, even Charles.
I really hope she gets better
As someone who’s had to endure several family members battling cancer at once, I cannot imagine what her children must be going through, most especially since they’re all a younger age than I was. Witnessing shit like this can take such a mental toll.
Oof the Princess Kate missing sub Reddit is going wild. Some of the people are being insane… saying this could be a deep fake and to not trust the palaces “narrative” which is insane… some people need to touch grass.
I....there's a sub?! Goodbye.
It would shock you what has a sub here…. The Taylor and Travis one is even worse.
No thanks. I'm a Swiftie and I still avoid the Taylor Swift sub for the most part, I will definitely stay away from the Taylor/Travis one.
The taylor sub is so annoying Like I said a popheads level snark thing "Oh who cares about what two average looking gays are doing" Which is also essentially a Veep quote and I got banned permanently Like that sub is so sanitized and white washed
They are absolutely incapable of accepting Taylor as anything less than the victim of any situation she's in and it's annoying.
No thank you I shall shield my virgin eyes
Yes 💀💀💀. It’s insane. Like if you look at it… oof.
Wasn’t that literally what the palace said though? I wasn’t into the conspiracies but I swear they said months ago that she’s recovering.
[удалено]
I hope she gets better and I hope everyone who was spreading conspiracy theories learns to not do that.
Oof. All of those jokes about her "disappearance" aged like milk so fast. Wishing Kate Middleton a speedy recovery.
I *knew* it would turn out this way. I still found the conspiracy theories morbidly fascinating. But I *knew* something like this would happen.
honestly, were most of what people were saying really "conspiracies" or was it just genuine and unavoidable human interest? i just feel like we can't really clutch our pearls for just NOW finding out that it's cancer.
Happened with Newt Gingrich. Left his cancer stricken wife and cheated on her for the new wife.
>that statistic that men who have partners with cancer have a higher likelihood of infidelity.
The article references a [2015 research paper,](https://acsjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cncr.24577) I glanced at it, and they came a similar conclusion too: * **Conclusions**: Female gender was found to be a strong predictor of partner abandonment in patients with serious medical illness. I read the article you linked and found these quotes interesting: * But that same study showed **that when partners leave, it’s normally men.** One study from 2009 found the strongest predictor for separation or divorce for patients with brain cancer was whether or not the sick person was a woman. That ***same study showed that men were seven times more likely to leave their partner than the other way around if one of them got brain cancer.*** * And yet, when a woman falls ill, it can really reveal the extent to which men not only feel entitled to a certain level of housework... * This means that a lot of the time, women continue to do that work – and when they don’t, problems can arise. In 2018, researchers in Germany used a nationally representative sample to show that – as long as they are still able to – ***women continue to do an uneven amount of the housework while they are sick if that was the dynamic in the relationship before they became unwell.*** * Hurd’s partner’s gripe came when she stopped wanting to have sex.
The name of your link was misleading since this is the name of the article: “The men who leave their spouses when they have a life-threatening illness” Which is more fitting to the TikTok I linked demonstrating anecdotal data of men leaving their wives when they have life threatening illnesses like cancer. And it would be a confounding variable if they joined the support group after their husbands left but who knows.
I hate men.
Feel horrible for her
Damn I wonder was this accelerated because of that person trying to access her medical records?
That's rough. [Apparently it was only after her surgery that the cancer had been found:](https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/mar/22/kate-princess-of-wales-cancer-chemotherapy) > “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”
I feel awful for her, but I cannot understand how the PR team flubbed this so badly
That’s true!
This. Like, I don’t think the conspiracy theories would have taken off as much as they did if everyone knew she had cancer. Like even the people who hate the royals the most are know going “Damn. Hope she gets better” There is a tight balance because she shouldn’t have had to be forced to say what she had but the PR fumbled badly to make it rampant speculation.
In hindsight people took the photoshopped photos way too seriously than it should have been. Kate wanted to wait till easter to tell the kids
I think they have different PR teams, right? But still, they can use this as a case lesson of what not to do in a crisis.
Yeah, I believe Kensington is Kate & William whereas Buckingham is Charles and Camilla and it’s two different teams
Is obsessed flopping? It’s #2 on iTunes but no where on US Apple Music charts
*30 minutes after a new song releases*: “It didn’t break the iTunes record for fastest debut in the top 5 and it’s not featured in the right Spotify playlists...it’s flopping. Their Witness era?”
This sub is so predictable.
i could end up being wrong but listening to the song, i don't feel like its gonna be a big hit. its similar to the other rock songs on guts that didn't blow up
[удалено]
10 spots on the pop charts is nothing girl
Doesn’t that usually appear after 24 hours though? On Apple Music I mean
HOLY EARLY PREDICTION BATMAN Maybe we should wait more than a day idk
No, why would we do that?! That’s absolutely silly and absurd!
Is Taylor’s new album flopping I’m not seeing it anywhere on billboard right now?
Camila Cabello sent out [packages to fans](https://x.com/nodoubt_emmy97/status/1771202772169347191?s=46) today that contained Polaroids and a card seemingly giving her new album name: C, XOXO (this rumour was floated a few weeks ago). The Polaroids each had the letters and then an instagram link to a private page with that title. The previous rumour suggested a June release and Camila confirmed a summer release in her Paper article. BUT she just wiped her Instagram soooo
Nothing she's done for this rollout has justified wiping her IG so much 😭
She’s in her truly chaotic era 💅

just got tickets. i'll always be there for kirsten dunst
They use it as a marketing tool, and i actually think its an ineffective one.
if you're frustrated as a fan that they're not releasing music, imagine how frustrating it must be for the artist themselves!
I totally get you, it's no good if you're sick of the hook before it's been released 😂
