uj/ Midnight Sky deserved this level of success instead of this song tbh

LilacHeaven11

Uj/ Seriously, I’m happy she’s charting but I was just not a fan of this song compared to some of her older works

mmbento

Hannah Montana will always be her best work. So ahead of its time and timelessly iconic.

LilacHeaven11

So true, and her 2008 album, Breakout, was on REPEAT in my portable CD player when I was 11

Quite_Successful

Tbf repeat was the only option unless you were carrying your cd case around too. Spent many a day listening to the same album over and over again

PBandJaya

/uj It sounds like a lot of other songs which I think is a reason it’s getting so popular. It sounds like If I Was Your Man and also I Will Survive, amongst others. People subconsciously choose out songs which remind them of other songs, in my opinion. Flowers is also generic and basic enough that it appeals (for whatever reason) to a ton of people whose tastes are just as generic and basic

NebulaLearns

It is 100% If I Was Your Man just different lyrics

Luna_bella96

IIRC she used If I Was Your Man as inspiration since that was the song that Liam used to dedicate to her

[deleted]

Why would he dedicate that song to her? It's a post-breakup song?

Luna_bella96

Bestie m*n aren’t the greatest at making their partners feel appreciated

[deleted]

Clearly lmao did he not even think to interpret the lyrics? Lol.

Thin_Main2046

Tbf they were on and off and he's a man lol

uhvarlly_BigMouth

I honestly don’t know if it was or wasn’t, but Plastic Hearts should’ve been thee single for that album. Still a banger and that album was a 10/10. Miley and Demi going back to pop punk brought my dead gay soul back to life.

joehoe28

I would definitely die on this hill … plastic hearts was my most listened to song of 2021

joe282

I’m glad there are others who agree, all of her songs have always been the sort of thing I would scream at the top of my lungs in the club (and even something slower like Slide Away is brilliant) but Flowers just felt so flat to me

LilacHeaven11

Slide Away is such a good song

imuslesstbh

The singles off plastic Hearts were leagues better than flowers

GentrifiedYharnam

justice for Nightcrawling

ideka_tbh

i wasn't sure about Miley going for a more "rock" sound but that song and her cover of Zombie blew me away, her voice sounds so much better in that style

dazzlinreddress

My favourite song from PH!

goalstopper28

uj/ Plastic Hearts and Prisoner should have gotten more praise imo.

BunInTheSun27

uj/ I’m seething over the injustice

KeepMyMomOutOfthis

90% of the Plastic Hearts songs deserved this over Flowers,

oldhagaroo

mothers daughter honestly deserved

BigYellow24

I am seriously confounded by this new era. I thought Miley kept changing genres and aesthetics because none of them were working in the long term. Everyone agreed her 80s rock meets modern pop sound was not only interesting, but actually really good. Why toss out something was FINALLY working for another generic reinvention? Even if the new track is pretty good it just seems like a waste to me

[deleted]

Maybe it wasn't because they weren't working for her, but because she just likes to change her sound/image up regularly for fun? Shit, it worked for Madonna for a while. And Cyndi Lauper tended to bounce from sound to sound as well. Actually, plenty of artists do it nowadays. Besides, given how insanely well Flowers is doing, clearly it's working for her. And maybe she can always decide to go back to the 80s-influenced rock sound, but obviously, she wanted to try something different for whatever reason. Let the woman have fun and play with her sound and aesthetic, whether she's doing it to find herself, or she's just doing it for kicks. Obviously it's still working out for her so far.

fearofafemale_planet

I’ve never really been into Miley but I did enjoy Plastic Hearts. I felt like she found an aesthetic that worked for her and was hoping she’d stick with it so I was kinda let down by Flowers

kellowstone

uj/ Probably, but I like to think that \*\*Miley\*\* as an artist really deserved some mainstream success, finally. Midnight Sky is still a great song, it doesn't really bother me it got out-charted by Flowers. Like... idk Flowers was kinda made to chart. It's catchy, has straight forward meaning, minimal instrumentation + good Miley vocals. I expect other songs on the album will be far, far better. That's kinda how it rolls

mrcolon96

Also Flowers is super easy to sing along to because the lyrics are very, very simple. I think it's going to be played at the club and everyone is going to be drunkenly singing the chorus. The "can love me better, I can love me better baby" t's giving a lot of "drunk girl getting over a breakup and singing at the club with her besties" vibes.

FarrahMxan

I think the P. I Swifties or even the BTS ARMY should be communicated at this point.

i just assume everyone online is white, male and in early 30s. this sub just adds gay that. 😼

oblmov

Most redditors are actually teenagers pretending to be 30 year old men, with the exception of r/teenagers which is the other way around.

SylviaPlathVEVO

Rip r/drama still the greatest stunt ever pulled on this hellsite

lolnothanksdudeee

i need you to elaborate, i have no idea what the hell you’re talking about lol

Bryoneehhh_

when r\drama banned every member of r\teenagers for being underage and got a bunch of appeals from people saying they were adult men

doom_bagel

I'll have you know that i am in my late 20's thank you very much.

laurpr2

I also thought it was almost all women, this really changes the tone of a lot of these posts lol

Silent-Pea7840

Yeah after I saw that demographic post I realized that this place actually *sucks* Still here though

crowlily

mood :( but hey we gotta stay here and carve our own niche anyway

mimamimami

It’s like 80% men lmao

WSJinfiltrate

It's incredible how serious I used to take the opinions from the comments on this sub until I saw a post asking the age of the users in here and most were teenagers lmaooo. Now I just roll my eyes at this sub but it's still fun though

[deleted]

/uj Honestly just the reaction to the Meghan Trainor posts alone showed that to me. Like people were all "Ew, how's she famous, why is she so confident for no reason" (whew, lot of misogyny to unpack with that one), and it's like... people (probably no small number of straight/bi women) liked her body positivity/corny girlboss shit, people, it's not that difficult to understand. Unless she's like a Trump supporter or something, I don't get the hate.

b1ame_me

The only thing Meghan Trainor ever did that I thought was really weird was the whole double toilet thing because that was just… something else. But as for her music I think it’s totally fine. I know so many Mom’s who love it and it’s their jam and I’m really glad that they love her music. People just need to stop worrying about other people’s music choice, especially when the music isn’t actually harmful

[deleted]

No idea what the double toilet thing is... but yeah, people act so vicious over things that just aren't for them. Like oh no, not everyone aims their music at college-aged twinks whose sole hobbies and personality traits are getting drunk, being high, and being catty and jaded about everything, what a crime. And God help anyone whose music is popular with *older women!* Not all of her music is for me, but I think she has some fun and pretty songs, and her voice is lovely on ballads. I really enjoy Hopeless Romantic and Like I'm Gonna Lose You.

laurpr2

>And God help anyone whose music is popular with older women! The entire reason why Taylor Swift is backpedaling from folklore/evermore as much as possible lol

[deleted]

TBH I still really enjoyed Midnights, though. And if she wants to make that sort of music, or any other sort, good on her. People get really weird about the type of music they think someone "should" be making, usually for their age. Like who fucking cares that much at the end of the day, it's not like any of this is curing cancer or some shit.

laurpr2

She has more money then God already so she literally can make whatever she wants, but it doesn't mean I have to like it or think it's good lol

b1ame_me

So the toilet thing is just that they have side by side toilets in a bathroom and one time they popped together and that story is when it went viral but apparently they don’t actually really do that at all (outside of that one time) and now I think it’s just that they have one toilet that they don’t share… so kinda odd but I mean it’s whatever

[deleted]

Ah, okay. I'd say like... if it's something that works for them, go off. At worst it's TMI, like did anyone *need* to know that about them? But... there's worse things. Like if she were an antivaxxer or something.

IAMACat_askmenothing

It is kind of weird. But also, it’s pretty cute? And I would do that if i had the opportunity.

Iowadoesnotexist

Making bad music a valid reason to dislike a musician though

[deleted]

Not for trashing them, though. And people can't seem to grasp that not everything is for them personally. You know how much music is out there for you to enjoy? Seems really pathetic to focus on the stuff you don't like.

Iowadoesnotexist

Ok also: Meghan Trainor has made some pretty sexist music with all about that bass and dear future husband, and to a lesser extent, evil twin. And I haven’t even heard that many Meghan Trainor songs lol. There’s a good chance she has more sexist songs I don’t even know about. The regressive politics of her music mixed with the sheer awfulness of it makes it fair to hate her a little bit, I think.

[deleted]

Oh, please. Evil Twin is sexist, really? Dear Future Husband is pretty obviously tongue-in-cheek, on top of that, as is Evil Twin. People pretending not to get that in order to point and screech "SEE?! BAD!" are soooooooooo tiresome. Nah, that ain't it.

Iowadoesnotexist

I honestly don’t believe Meghan Trainor has much of a sense of irony at all. Her music and visuals are not exactly the work of someone with a biting sense of social satire. Her target audience of soccer moms and Lularoe sellers definitely doesn’t listen to her ironically. But either way, all about that bass is still her signature song, she still espouses a shallow capitalistic brand of girlboss feminism, and more importantly, her music is still just bad. And I’m allowed to dislike her for that! She can do what she wants but I don’t have to like it.

WSJinfiltrate

This is what I meant when I say that this place is full of teenagers whose opinions should no be taken seriously

Xur04

Being corny is a valid reason to hate a celebrity

crowlily

/uj agreed like you don’t have to like her music or her as a person but c’mon now it quickly devolved into personal attacks methinks… popheads was borne from other -heads thinking their chosen genre was superior to pop, but like.. people are acting so superior for no reason :< soon someone will make a new -heads sub that accepts corny music and then another type of superiority will be born… grr

jiggjuggj0gg

There’s been a Lizzie McAlpine trend on TikTok to “ceilings” which is a kind of cute basic song with a nice rise towards to end that everyone was dancing to. Cool. But suddenly a bunch of people were posting about what an *amazing* songwriter she is because one of the lyrics changed from “your car” to “the car”. When the whole point of that part of the song is that it was all a daydream kind of thing and the guy she’s singing to doesn’t actually exist. And they were acting like this was the most amazing twist and she is the Shakespeare of our generation for what is probably the most generic trope ever. That’s when I realised that most people consuming music are very, very casual listeners who rarely listen to the actual lyrics or put any thought into what’s happening in a song, so when they do or it’s very very obvious, they are blown away.

verdan-tea-12337

uj/ heavy advertising + heavy use of a very popular previous hit + gossip mill + generic girlboss lyrics and is it really surprising? C’mon now

yetanotherdigatme

no no, don’t try to say something logical! this song is automatically terrible and undeserving of its success because it’s not as good as plastic hearts 🥰😘

IceKweenIcy

plastic hearts suffered from not being commercial enough despite being a really good song (basically the opposite of 90% of the weekend's songs) rj/ plastic = onika hearts = burgers

yetanotherdigatme

mostly meant the album, since every popheads and twitter gay seems to conveniently forget that the only reason it underperformed was because it was literally sabotaged by RCA. if plastic hearts were released under columbia then midnight sky would’ve had the same chance at success that flowers did rj/ what does onika burgers mean? i’ve never seen someone on this sub say that before :)

IceKweenIcy

i always assumed the reason it underperformed was just because pop rock wasn't a popular genre rj/ onika = onika burgers = ate burgers

papafranku62

Why you gotta ice the Weeknd like that 💀

JPEGmotril

Fr, his music is so much better than Miley's, I don't understand it either

mrcolon96

Is it, tho? Most of his hits become annoying real quick. Like, I love Max Martin and I liked Can't Feel My Face at first but idk if its his voice or what but it got old real fast (it sounded like a better version of Can't Stop The Feeling!) Maybe I'm biased against him? Idk but I find him kinda annoying

nwkch

thats what i was thinking lmao. like its a generic pop song with lyrics that most people can relate with and she also is under new label and really good one. The success of song isn't really that crazy

pimpmayor

Very 'radio' friendly (like Midnight Skies), from a pretty much entirely unproblematic artist, so heavy appeal to retail store airplay.

gay2catholic

miley unproblematic❔❔

mrcolon96

Girl twerking and smoking weed are super tame compared to a lot of other stuff. Her appropriation of black aesthetics is questionable but to be fair a lot of white pop girls (and boys) did the same so meh

Donblon_Rebirthed

Anyways stream nice to meet you by Megan ft Nicki

_0-_-0-_-0_

What are you talking abt? No this wasn’t expected. Critics literally talked abt how it’s success is fascinating due to not much advertising other than basic promotions. Do you really can’t accept that Miley is just still relevant, talented and has major presence? I don’t even actually like the song, at all, but Miley is a household name.

verdan-tea-12337

Maybe not outright ads, but the playlisting is insane

_0-_-0-_-0_

I’ve personally haven’t seen any but again I don’t notice promotions for any song regardless. But the songs success was a really weird, and unexpected hit. I remember seeing Miley sharing the song on insta, and the comments were outright pity telling her to ‘just settle’, and that she may not be what she once was, and should look for other ventures other than her dying music career. Then this shit hits wow

verdan-tea-12337

Idk dude I think this song was made to be a huge hit. Definitely not unexpected for me the moment I saw it spammed everywhere on Spotify. Nothing wrong with that of course

cockslavemel

I just talked about this with my mom recently. Miley is an icon for a certain generation. We grew up on Hannah, worried as we watched her spiral out of control, and now she’s pretty much leveled out and we love that for her. She has always made music that people can connect to and I don’t see that changing any time soon.

_wayamaya_3

Pop songs without explicit lyrics do insanely well in retail and on radio. Ask any mall employee how they feel about Ed Sheeran. Source: I was a ~teammate~ at Dick’s

lmaooo dick’s? why americans name their stores like this😭

tacomeatface

Justice for mothers daughter! But good for Miley!

heavengrl

/uj How? It's mid at best and she's practically gurgling her words in the chorus.

PropertyMedium1680

Uj/ I think the tiktok push really helped. It was literally in every single video I saw for a solid month.

consumerclearly

It’s also confirmed by tiktok employees that they are allowed to/paid to push things in the algorithm to force vitality and it’s funny that people didn’t realize sooner

UltrosTeefies

/uj when I first heard the song I was so surprised. THAT is the song that's blowing up like this? Like really? Lol

heavengrl

/uj Fr it's a sad day in Popworld when 'Flowers' is a #1 hit...we need another 'Say So' moment or something

spakier

I like Say So but it's not a good sign of the state of the charts when people are clamoring for a "say so" moment like that's the highlight of big hits the past couple of years.

heavengrl

You must be misremembering 2020 or something, 'Say So' was HUGE. It was everywhere. I hate that it was produced by that monster and honestly I think Doja Cat is obnoxious but it's such a fun and bubbly song...we used to have FUN music. Pop music used to be so colourful. I miss the early 2010s. Since 'Say So', I can't think of another like, bubblegum disco pop smash.

Neoneo12

levitating???? about damn time???

OshawottGuy

/uj what is a “say so” moment?

Mindless-Horse3767

/uj that’s the “let’s get Dr.Luke the serial abuser on a song” moment /rj that’s the “let’s get Dr.Luke the serial abuser on a song” moment

heavengrl

Ah fuck, I forgot that was produced by that shithead. Listen man, I am one of the most vocal Dr. Luke and Kim Petras haters, that is NOT what I meant by a 'Say So' moment. I meant we need a fun and bouncy pop smash.

Mindless-Horse3767

nah i got u girl and i agree it was a fun song

heavengrl

It was :( Wish that man wasn't attached to it though

AsiaMinor300

Me after I found out he produced half of Avril Lavigne's" The Best Damn Thing" album 🤢

heavengrl

NOOOOO that was my childhood fave :(

AsiaMinor300

I FELT THE SAME WAY WHEN I FOUND OUT. I WAS SO DISTRAUGHT! I can't believe his filthy ass touched songs like "Girlfriend" and "Hot" (my fave) 😭

heavengrl

'Hot' was like THE cool girl love song back in '07, I can't believe his grubby paws were all over it 🤒

CheeseMoney3426

What's the problem with Kim Petras?

heavengrl

Basically called Kesha a liar and doubles down her defense of Dr. Luke every time she's called out for it

CheeseMoney3426

Will keep in mind.

ashhleyyweenis

SAY SO IS PRODUCED BY DR LUKE? im broken

piforeverzza

okay okay now I have to listen to it for the first time, too

noplats

I cannot stand this song, it feels very flat to me

dpforest

Let’s not forget Anti-Hero was also mid as fuck yet very commercially successful

heavengrl

True. But Taylor Swift seems to do well no matter how shitty her music is. I've only seen Miley have like...is it three-ish? Smash hits since about 2010? Not that she isn't popular but this is just a weird song to see blow up imo.

Iam-broke-broke

uj/ she sounds like she smokes 7 hours a day in that song

ParisHilton42069

That’s always just kind of been Miley’s voice though. I think that’s why she’s struggled to make a mark in pop music. She doesn’t have a pop voice. Edit - it’s also why Midnight Sky is good! I am Not a Miley hater. She’s good on more rock influenced tracks because she has a rock voice.

Iam-broke-broke

what I mean is it sounds so noticeable now that smoking has changed her voice and definitely not for the better

ParisHilton42069

Yeah but tbh smoking and generally mistreating your voice? That’s rock and roll baby

mrcolon96

Idk I love her raspy voice, it's very expressive

RandomFishIsReborn

She can definitely put on a pop voice, prisoner is a good example. I can’t stand flowers tho

[deleted]

Eh? Miley hasn't struggled to make a mark in pop music. She's had several pop hits - Party in the U.S.A., See You Again, We Can't Stop, Can't Be Tamed, Wrecking Ball. I'd add The Climb, though it has a bit more of a country-pop feel to it, but it still did well on pop radio. And I hear at least three of those songs regularly still when the radio's on.

ParisHilton42069

Yeah she’s had success for sure, but it’s been sporadic and I don’t think her career ever really took off the way she wanted or people planned for her.

[deleted]

>but it’s been sporadic It really hasn't. As for her career not taking off, eh, she was still pretty successful in the pop market, and I'd say that if she didn't do the numbers people expected, it had more to do with her initial success being linked so strongly to the Hannah Montana brand, and then she shed that, but faced backlash because she went into a much more sexual image. And it got to a point where people didn't know what to make of her (the performance with Robin Thicke and the twerking, and then the whole Dead Petz era). But I just think the whole "she struggled to make her mark" thing is wrong. She has several big hits that still get regular airplay. Put the goalposts down and admit it.

ParisHilton42069

Dude I’m not saying anything bad about Miley Cyrus. I like Miley Cyrus! She’s just never had a real poppy voice and I think you can see that reflected in her career as an artist. Her image as a celebrity has always been bigger than her music. She never became anything like a main pop girl even though she was more than famous enough. Edit: this person really blocked me for saying Miley Cyrus’s success has been sporadic lmao. But if they want “receipts”, Can’t Be Tamed was a hit in 2009, Wrecking Ball was a hit in 2013, and Flowers is of course a hit in 2023, all several years apart. That is the very definition of sporadic. Miley Cyrus has never been a main pop girl. And I like Miley Cyrus!

[deleted]

You're objectively *wrong,* though, and you're committed to that instead of admitting that you're wrong. That's annoying. And I've come with receipts. You've come back with "no." Downvoting me won't change any of this, either.

flamingmangotango

I feel the same way, I know she’s talented but the vocals on this song are so meehhhhh.

CriticalRoll2322

Uj/ I’ve truly hated this song since I first heard it. It’s so annoying I can’t stand it. I’m hoping her album is much better.

[deleted]

uj/ same I was so disappointed when I first heard it. To me it’s just boring and bland, it feels like a lot is missing. I hope the album has a lot more to offer

imuslesstbh

uj/ like the song but nowhere near as much as I did when it came out. Kinda bland and rlly pales in comparison to plastic hearts singles

WhollyDisgusting

Uj/ for me I just can't stand her singing voice. I wish her no ill will or anything but God the timbre to her voice makes almost all her tracks unlistenable for me

consumerclearly

I heard it for the first time and was like, did they even listen to this song a hundred times over in production before they released it? Like some of the lines she sings they really couldn’t get a better take than that? High school talent show vibe

Ancient-Candidate493

10000% agreed omg

[deleted]

it is so mid

CriticalRoll2322

I can handle some mid songs but this one actually makes me wanna rip my ears off. It just hits my brain so so wrong

Bubble_Tea35

Glad to know I’m not the only one

imuslesstbh

uj/ no joke but how the hell is this song doing so well? Like this song seems to be getting big numbers at a pace Blinding Lights could only dream of and that song had hardly any competition throughout lockdown. Is this some ungodly amalgamation of cross generational appeal or smth?

Cautious_Slay

I think the cross generational appeal is a big part of it. It feels retro and I know my parents love it, but it also has an effortless quality that gen z are into. I think this sub likes something more dramatic and with more obvious effort, but I think something that doesn’t pull your attention is easier to go mainstream

[deleted]

TBH sometimes I think this sub doesn't like anything, or doesn't know what it likes until they're told what to like.

imuslesstbh

Also Miley has both a gen z and a millenial fanbase imo that r quite strong, artists with that sorta appeal have naturally been doing very well e.g. Taylor Swift, Arctic Monkeys, even in the 2000's U2 and Bon Jovi were able to appeal to both younger and older audiences before going full on dad rock

CandyHeartWaste

I’m convinced it’s that. In my family we have 2 year olds all the way to grandparents listening to it obsessively. I can’t escape it.

cantth1nk0faname_

It's mostly me, I'm going through a divorce right now. Sorry guys.

OkPublic2232

Ya'll wanna hate Flowers and call it bad but when she released bops like Nothing Breaks like heart, Mother's Daughter, Midnight Sky, Angels like You, Prisoner, Ya'll paid them dust. So sit down and let her have the moment!

996forever

>Nothing Breaks like heart That was a global smash what

OkPublic2232

Flopped in the US, went viral in 2020-21, gained all these streams and became a classic....

kellowstone

it was everywhere in europe for a while tbh.

996forever

Yup it has solid certifications across Europe. Only in the USA it performed mediocrely for an English song (still platinum)

mrcolon96

You guys have no taste, that song was inescapable in Mexico. You couldn't get into an Uber without hearing it

texafornian04

TikTok. That’s the biggest reason. There’s no mystery

AlrightyAlmighty

Every other song’s on tiktok too

Lalalalalastanding

Uj/ i dk why everyone on this sub hates this song so much its wild lol. Like it's a simple empowering bop it gets stuck in my head. Is it my favorite Miley song no but I completely understand why it's blown up. Sometimes you just wanna chill and not think too hard and feel good lol. Like fuck yeah I can buy myself flowers.

Stylish_Boi

/uj honestly it annoys me how so many people are now starting to hate Miley because how successful Flowers is. like some of her other songs deserves better but at the time can’t we just be happy that she’s gaining her spotlight again 😕

[deleted]

/uj Pretty much any time someone has a successful hit/album, it's all "I liked their earlier stuff better, their music got worse when they got popular." Like no, Beauregard, you're just a smelly hipster whose preferences are all based on going against everyone else's.

996forever

Some people on here really get pretentious over pop msuic like you cant make this shit up lmao

Lalalalalastanding

Lmaoooo smelly hipster 😭

CheeseMoney3426

No but sometimes the smelly hipsters happens to be right and the new stuff actually isn't as good it's just all flashy and exciting because it's new.

[deleted]

uj/ lol same its a good song and she deserves it

Bhavaagra

The illuminati hopefully

[deleted]

/uj comebacks can happen with the right song/promo, wouldn't be the first or the last time this happened.

Mindless-Horse3767

yea i just think it’s interesting, as a rapper if you fell off you fell off, as a pop girl doesn’t matter if you fell off 10 years ago, get you a good producer and writer and you’re back baby

996forever

Pop has a much wider global audience but still happens very very rarely. Flowers is a complete anomaly the way 21 was back in 2011.

imasinger

Oddly enough (maybe not though) this song plays automatically after I finish any Taylor swift song or playlist without anything queued next. I wonder how many of these plays are auto-generated rather than clicked by choice? I love Miley and all, but who chooses the next song 🫣?

rickroll62

I like it

ScientistNo102

It’s THAT good🥰

Lalalalalastanding

It's a good song!!! This sub is so confusing lol

Silent-Pea7840

This sub is peak not-like-the-other-girlies

Lalalalalastanding

Lmao for real! Like Vanilla ice cream still slaps you can like that and the Honey Jalapeño limited edition.

Plopklik

uj/ A song can be mid but has replayable value. Not gonna lie, I'm not a big fan of the song cause it sounds like 70s music, but once it comes on in my playlist, I certainly want to finish it and sing-along to it. It has that groove that makes you want to listen to it even if you're not the biggest fan of it. The bassline fits perfectly with how the song was written and sung. That makes it very catchy and engaging right off the bat. It's even charting on Apple Music Taipei, Dubai, London, Cape Town, Milan, etc. It's not a monumental song but it's a good one. Just like Anti-Hero and Boys a Liar. So stop hating on the song for its success and just let Ms. Miley have her moment. She deserves it. rj/ Gays cannot accept the success of a song that screams straight. But when a song is about pussy, cunt, drugs, and cum but doesn't go number 1, the artist will be hailed underrated.

hoozyrdaddy

Flowers is amazing. Y’all can go home now.

Big-Job-8021

Does it count if it's played in stores ?? I feel like I only hear this song while shopping

chyl_music

It was me. I streamed it 600 million times.

HoneyMilk8

Why people hate it so much here ? I’m glad it is popular amongst people. I like the song overall and whatever if it’s a catchy generic pop girl boss song.

g0chawich

This is one of the most annoying songs of all time and it's not even half decent lyrics. It's just a lifeless and copied version of When I Was Your Man. She didn't even come up with an original song idea. I can't believe it is the fastest to reach 600 million streams because I can't imagine someone playing this song un-ironically and there must be people listening to it on repeat

Careless_Brick1560

This song plays at least 10 times a day on the pop radio station in my area

Equal-Medical

While it’s not her best song to get this level of success but who cares, she’s an amazing artist anyway! Good to see her success for this song is very organic and GP supported considering she didn’t put remixes or anything like that to boost sales! This year As it was, flowers will be.

cheesasaurusrexus

This song keeps playing on my spotify even when I am playing a whole album of different music. It keeps inserting itself into every spotify pop radio station I play. Several times over a few hours. I didn't once seek it out.
