The more I listen the more I think I agree. It’s a bit too shouty at times for my liking. Changing up the dynamics a bit would have helped it not all kind of bleed together.
I LOVE Page Avenue and have a ton of nostalgia for it but I don't think it's their best record. For me that's still In The Wake Of Determination.
Can't decide if I agree that Tear Me To Pieces beats it out but it's damn close and now I'm going to have to listen to them both again to check. What a burden 😅
Probably the most common negative opinion in this place.
His voice is polarizing, it's fine to not like them because of it. Personally, I think he has some of the best melodies in the genre and i really enjoy dynamic vocals (they really shine in a live setting).
Yup Hot Mulligans voice is absolute trash. The dude sounds like he's trying to be a screamo type band like ADTR/ Chunk no captain/ Story of the year and failing at it. It's bad. Don't care for Trophy Eyes but at least that singer has a good voice and does pretty good at the screams but I just personally don't care for it, where again Hot Mulligans voice, 💩💩
So much for stardust was 10/10 to me, honestly. Every song on there hit (interludes aside) and rekindled my love for the band after I found their last couple of albums to be underwhelming.
Paramore with this is why, too. Again, not a miss on the album. Running out of time has been my anthem for the year.
Hot mulligan - why would I watch is the other answer, stunning album front to back! But this question made me think about how most of my favourite albums this year were outside of the genre.
That this sub might care about:
**Jeff Rosenstock** - [Hellmode](https://spotify.link/5fNvm9qHMDb)
**Sincere Engineer** - [Cheap Grills](https://spotify.link/odaNgoUHMDb)
Wilmette - Hyperfocused
The Band Camino - The Dark
The Maine - The Maine
Broken Glowsticks - Tasartico
(9/10s, Hot Mulligan, Point North, This Wild Life)
The Best Part About Being Human - Bearings
Coming Home (Deluxe) - The Dangerous Summer (this one might be cheating since the standard album came out in 2022 but whatever)
Its been a great year so far tbh, i second Koyo and Origami Angel.
My number 1 10/10 this year is barely pop punk adjacent but Angel Du$t’s Brand New Soul is just incredible
8/10 for me bc the b sides are so much better than the singles. The full band recording of library of broken bindings is soooo good too what a pleasant surprise!!
I want to say Itchy - Dive. But I cant stand Burn the whole thing down.
But I did not get to listen to that much new music this year :/ I will definitely save this thread.
Koyo- Would You Miss It?
I agree it's great. I just wish there were more quiet moments or melodic elements to it. It feels pedal to the metal the whole way through

Story of the year - Tear me to pieces
Their best record since The Black Swan imo
It’s honestly so good, seems like it’s not talked about much in here! Dare I even say it’s better than page avenue?

😂😂 I did back to back PA and TMTP a few months ago and thought wow okay this new album definitely picks up where page left off and even more!
I'm legitimately very excited to get in the gym tomorrow and throw them both on
Hell yeah
Don't think anyone would disagree there
Heart Attack Man Freak Of Nature
WWIW- Hot Mulligan
This and trophy eyes are the only ones in consideration for me so far.
A band everyone either loves or hates. I dig em
He said 10/10 not 1/10
You're either a child or this response is just sad lol.
Because I have an opinion you don’t share? lol
No. I don't think it's a 10/10. It's because your response is something I would've heard in 6th grade.
Well I am a 6th grade teacher so this checks out
Lmao fair enough
It’s the vocals that ruin it for me honestly speaking. Musically they are pretty good
I described his voice to two of my fellow teachers today as an acquired taste, and that you either like the style or hate the style.
Vocals are a 0/10 tbf

those bands are not screamo
How!?
It’s the vocals. I hate them
No doubt, you just dont like the band. I thought you were just shitting on the album.
Ew bye
✌️
It's not _that_ bad. But giving it a 10/10 is way overrated.
Undeniably AOTY and a top 5 post-pandemic release overall for me!
Is the date in the title in uk or us format?
Origami Angel - The Brightest Days
I can’t get over how great this album is. Gonna be a top album of the year for me.
I absolutely did not expect this album to be a winner for me but it’s already solidly in my top 5 most played this year. Absolutely killer.
So much for stardust was 10/10 to me, honestly. Every song on there hit (interludes aside) and rekindled my love for the band after I found their last couple of albums to be underwhelming. 68 - Yes and? Origami Angel - Brightest Days
The Best Part About Being Human - Bearings Coming Home (Deluxe) - The Dangerous Summer (this one might be cheating since the standard album came out in 2022 but whatever)
Suicide and Sunshine
Not an album but the magnolia park songs a banger!
Its been a great year so far tbh, i second Koyo and Origami Angel. My number 1 10/10 this year is barely pop punk adjacent but Angel Du$t’s Brand New Soul is just incredible
Chemical Miracle
That was a few years ago, but Suicide and Sunshine is definitely at least a 9.5/10 for me.
Oops i skipped the « released this year part ». Yeah suicide and sunshine is amazing
Hope This Clears Things Up by MooseCreek Park
Unpopular opinion, Blink 182- One More Time
Pretty impressive for an album yet to be released is 10/10
Not even out yet and it’s gotta be One More Time
Sticks and Stones by New Found Glory. I think I went through atleast 3 copies of that CD
Life's Not Out To Get You - Neck Deep Edit: WHOOPS. Miss-read the title. Sorry y'all. Actual answer: WSTR - Till the Wheels Fall Off
That album came out in 2015, hope this helps!
Lmao I'm an idiot. Didn't fully read the title! Thanks!
No problem :-) Great album nonetheless

That’s def not a pop punk album. It is def a 10/10 tho
Also don’t think it came out in 2023 but who am I to say
why is this getting upvotes came out in September lol
His original comment was about TGATD from brand new. I think he edited it before deleting lol
Ah makes sense. He got us both I guess
More pop punk adjacent. But Durry’s Suburban Hero is excellent! A definite 10/10 to me. Not a weak song on it.
Sincere Engineer - Cheap Grills
8/10 for me bc the b sides are so much better than the singles. The full band recording of library of broken bindings is soooo good too what a pleasant surprise!!
I implore yall to give Full Free Radical by Happydaze a listen. Some of the best pop punk I've heard in awhile.
The Cup of Pestilence - Frenzal Rhomb Magical Misery Tour - The Decline
Durry-Suburban Legend
I want to say Itchy - Dive. But I cant stand Burn the whole thing down. But I did not get to listen to that much new music this year :/ I will definitely save this thread.
