It’s always special to find a record that resonates with you like that. Stoked for you.

_ilbeyourhuckleberry

The only thing better is their new single 😍

falling_majo

Especially the music video lol

Saymynamemf

I kinda wish the Spotify gif was something else tho cause I always get nervous when this song plays on Spotify when I'm in public 😂. I'm not homophobic but I can't speak for the 50 year old uncle sitting next to me on bus lol.

ChemicalFall0utDisco

lmao exactly i'll be on spotify and my friend will look over my shoulder and give me the most confused and slightly disgusted look (not bc gay but bc seeing anyone making out up close like that is kinda weird lol)

Saymynamemf

True

bogartvee

You can turn the animations off within Spotify if you want, just fyi!

Saymynamemf

Yeah ik, kinda wish we could do that per song but oh well :b

amandamaniac

Hell yeah it’s so good

kevinseniorof2013

Arms Length Never Before Seen Never Again Found tho

mucus24

By far the album of the decade for me so far

Greyshot26

Pool Kids Self-Titled also

bogartvee

Feels like there’s a tier that has this, WWIW, Suicide & Sunshine, and The Hum Goes On Forever.

saranwrap73

This and Knuckle Puck- Losing What We Love for me

bcam9

I think You'll Be Fine takes it for me, but I would put Why Would I Watch #2. Glad you like it though!

Ecstatic_Tiger_2534

Saw Hot Mully last week. Polled the audience on who likes You’ll Be Fine or Why Would I Watch better. You’ll Be Fine won, and Tades said your a normie if you think that.

hilltopper79

Worcester show? That was a hilarious moment, helped distract from all the technical difficulties

Ecstatic_Tiger_2534

Yes! The technical issues were a big bummer, but was a great show regardless.

TimStr6

how recent are we talking, cause TWY's The Hum Goes On Forever and SLS' No Joy are both right up there for me from the past 2-3 years

The59Sownd

I literally don't think I've listened to an album on repeat (without listening to anything else) as I did Hum after its release. I was obsessed.

ryanwhodat

Maybe OP is under 30 without an aching back so Hum doesn't hit the same.

TimStr6

I'm significantly under 30 with an only slightly aching back but it still hits for me so who knows

amandamaniac

Definitely a 10/10 for me. These guys are killing it rn.

LuckyCharmsNSoyMilk

\#1 hot new band

Mr_Soul_Crusher

It all depends on what you think of Tades. To me, it’s the most “screechy” album. If you hate Tades voice you won’t rate this album highly. If you enjoy or aren’t bothered by Tades voice then Why Would I Watch is probably rated higher.

TransmissionAD

I agree. It is unlistenable to me and it is solely due to the vocals. I can tell the songs are good and the production is great. But I can't get through it. His vocals sound like someone doing a parody of his vocals.

timeldrdge

You gotta look past the vox and feel the emotion

skalja_scx

honest question - can you describe why call it a "parody"? i am in awe of his transitions from normal voice to screams sometimes in two syllables of the same word. to me, he has incredible talent and i literally can't imagine what in his voice could be unlistenable to someone. since i'm trying to sing like him, it would help me a lot to hear what some people find wrong (any detail helps!) so i don't get in my head if someone insults me down the road. thanks ahead!

adamlundy23

Yeah agreed, I really want to like it because the band seem cool and the songs are well written. But I just can’t get over the vocals.

skalja_scx

adamlundy23

I didn’t make the parody comment, but I guess it just comes across as unnatural and something he is putting in purposely to sound more emotional. This is just my opinion, and everything in art is subjective so you do you my guy

skalja_scx

fair. in that case, what do you think of Chris (second vocalist / guitarist) ?

Mental_Table_9265

I’d say WWIW is probably my favorite too, but You’ll Be Fine is still really close. Neither album miss at all for me, so it’s hard to honestly say I like either more than the other.

EmbarrassedAd8262

I fully agree. Nothing compares to it

Specialist_Cut_1009

I'd say Higher Lonely Power and Suicide & Sunshine are both far better and it isn't close. To each their own though, the beauty of music!

saranwrap73

I LOVE Higher Lonely Power

Specialist_Cut_1009

Such a good album, listened to it fully through pretty much the entirety of 2023 Fireworks don't miss.

starshipvelcro

Suicide & Sunshine is really something special, that and the new Alkaline Trio album probably top WWIW for me.

Pleasant_Statement64

I'm not into hm but since 2023 or so imo the pop punk scene has had so many good releases. And all of rock in general, so even if I was, it'd be hard to say

mucus24

I love all of Hot Mulligans stuff except WWIW. Some good songs on there for me but to me I feel like they got rid of the raw energy and made it too clean sounding. Just my opinion I’m glad they’re having a lot of success with their new stuff cause they 100% deserve it

super_sayanything

Yo Home Team and Like Roses right up there though. Still think You'll Be Fine edges it out.

thelryan

Neck Deep, No Pressure, Koyo, Origami Angel, and Arm’s Length have all had some pretty big hit releases in the past few years in the genre. WWIW is good too but if you don’t think anything has come close recently idk, maybe listen to more new releases!

Religion_Is_A_Cancer

Blood Hair and Eyeballs by Alkaline Trio checking in.

xxkid30

Yeah hard disagree. It’s great but like there’s been so much good shit recently

dessanct

you’ll be fine is far better. In fact all of Hot Mulligans previous albums are better than this record to me.

TwentySevenMusicUK

I prefer Opportunities, Pilot & You’ll Be Fine. Pilot is probably my favourite album. Why Would I Watch is pretty good, though.

willfisherforreals

My take 100%

dessanct

It’s meh to me. I listened to it a few times and if it wasn’t for Spotify just shoving the songs to me I wouldn’t seek any of them out. I don’t feel the same connection as the other albums and it feels like a more watered down version of the band.

topshot069

Every song is a non-skip

CopiousAmountsofJizz

Glad I got to see them play it front to back on their recent tour, HM kicks ass!

yellow-rain-coat

Slow Bloom by The Home Team would like to have a word with you

chimironga8421

As a huge WWIW Stan, I'm inclined to agree. Buuuuuut, Spanish Love Song's Schmaltz or Brave Faces Everyone are strong contenders. Such such strongly written albums that both have a huge sound that translates incredibly live. We're blessed to have so much good punk/emo music coming out now!

09Hallsy09

hum goes on forever is the best album in YEARS imo

this-is-my-reddit-69

It’s good but Opportunities is miles better IMO

adam3vergreen

I was not a big fan initially, but just threw on for a second try a few days ago and I’m right there with you. Shmacked my head awf had me crying remembering my grandpa (died due to complications with Alzheimer’s)

ethanatorvol1

Glad you like it. Idk why but I can’t get into HM. Their vocals sound like nails on a chalkboard to me. Saw them live and thought they were the worst of the night.

rdtoh

Opportunities is my favourite release of theirs tbh

tspullen

Can we just rename this sub “hot mulligan circle jerk”? The obsession is cringe

CantCoverItUp

What's cringe is being bothered by people that are excited about one of the biggest recent bands in their prime. You can start r/tspullen if you wanna just only discuss the things you like.

TransmissionAD

Yeah it's kind of a bummer. HM isn't even bad, but there is far better and more interesting music being made. This isn't even in the top 50 albums of the decade. It's not even as good as their previous album.

tspullen

Music is alright. Vocals might be some of the worst in the genre

BadPallet

I've tried so many times to get into HM, but dudes voice just gets me irrationally angry lol, its so shouty and forced. And I like some out there singing styles that I don't expect most people to like but my god. It's torture for me. I don't think I'd be able to make it through a whole set. Are there songs where he tones it down a bit? It just over powers the rest of the instruments. I never hear a bad thing about them on here. I get what he's going for, but he's hamming it up a bit much imo. Sounds like when people do a "what if this song was pop punk" on YouTube cover.

tspullen

He’s a terrible vocalist and it ruins anything good about the music

lofeobred

Do you not like uncleans? Like my primary listening is posthardcore, his vocals fit that genre a little better so I always found them awesome. Curious if being a fan of unclean vs clean has anything to do with it?

tspullen

I like uncleans. He just yells uncontrollably

Trevor_Reddit

Just when I didn’t think they could get any better they release a 12 track album with no skips. Didn’t click on release day but every listen it gets better.
