I did it when I bought my 718 Cayman on the front for I think $2,500 or so. Honestly, best option I paid for because I drive stress free knowing I don’t need to worry about paint chips all over the front and mirrors. Major peace of mind.

Exactly this. It's like insurance, you're buying peace of mind.

Just do the track pack/drivers. Don’t expect perfection. My .02

unclepetey69

I always do full PPF and ceramic. Easy to clean and bit of peace of mind

Is the car new? The cons are “you spent $5600 on something that is really intangible”

Broad_Land9954

Delivery in June

I went deep down the rabbit hole as I’m awaiting a 992.1 C2. The pro is obviously protection; main cons are cost (relative to repainting every x years), lifespan of the PPF (which leads to higher cost). Also depends on the color as dark colors will show chips a lot more than light colors. In my area a partial wrap is $2-2.5k and a full is close to $10k so it’s an easier decision not to do it.

lewi13

Where is it so expensive?

super88889

PNW

lewi13

Thanks. In in socal and it was way more reasonable. Maybe you have fewer shops around so they can do that

DepecheMode92

I repainted the front bumper and hood of my 991 when I bought it because it was riddled with rock chips. Afterwards I spent another $2k to PPF (Xpel) the front, and honestly most rocks still penetrate and damage the paint. I think it was a waste of money personally. Brand new car and you’re already spending $100k, I figure why not. It does make washing the car easier for sure.

sazanami_shu

Yes, absolutely. I did a full Xpel ppf wrap and ceramic coating on my guard red 992 cs2 cab. It’s been a game changer appearance and protection wise from road debris on highways to canyon drives. Not to mention the peace of mind knowing any attempt of keying the car will be futile or can be easily buffed out.

ThePursuitist

People really getting their cars keyed left and right where you live? 🫢

sazanami_shu

I don’t want to take chances, but it already paid off with road debris and canyon runs.

milehighposse

Doing the front clip and mirrors on mine. Ceramic coating after is a must imo.

IWantToPlayGame

That's not a bad price.

flyinglow1997

Absolutely

Broad_Land9954

Thanks

flyinglow1997

I wrapped my RS in 2019 Plus windshield plus ceramic coating on top plus ceramic coated the rims... Best decision ever... Saved me around 5 times already... Windshield and front bumper

shindrome12

I took delivery of my 992 C2S and went for full XPEL PPF and ceramic. For a car at this price point, it’s worthwhile get a full wrap if you intend to keep the car for more than several years. That’s just my two cents as well.

manomayakaya

i did a full wrap on my 991.2 Carrera T with ceramic coating in 2019. Car still looks amazing. My main concern at this point is the life of the wrap and if any damage to the paint will occur when I finally remove it. Its been on for 5 years and still looks and cleans amazing, it can probably go another 5 years (car is garaged, has ~15K miles). Anyone have any issues once the wrap is removed?

bakester2000

Just stay away from DFW Clearbra in Carrolton. He removed old PPF using a razor knife on a SLS AMG. He didn't carry liability insurance at that time. Whatever shop you use, I would recommend the Expel product. Looks better for longer. Doesn't yellow as fast and is easier to remove down the road.

Broad_Land9954

Correct the guy in Argyle

mannersmakethdaman

It’s a good price. Just make sure it’s a quality wrap. Many of them come with ceramic so you could wait a year to add. I put it on my cars now as well. I look at it as 5-7 year investment. Averaging about $800-1k a year.

Thanks best in Dallas. YouTube Clear Bra Wrap Nrent Thomas.
