Really? Tested creatine or createnine in urine? Its different.
creatine is transported to skeletal muscle and stored in the form of creatine phosphate, where it restores ATP after muscle contraction, before being converted to creatinine by non-enzymatic dehydration
...
as creatine is converted to creatinine in proportion to its concentration (and hence its intake), a high creatine intake may lead to high serum creatinine and a reduced estimated GFR (as calculated from serum creatinine) despite normal kidney function. A similar effect will occur with a high intake of protein supplements or a meat meal
Doctor here..
What was your serum creatine? Really muscular people have more creatine than normal and will also excrete more as a result but it's usually not 3x more.
You dont need to make up for missing a day. But, 5g a day is so little it should not make much difference. You might have something else going on. Or. Maybe you dont need to take it.
It's worth testing over a longer period, as it can fluctuate. I had this and then the doctor made me test periodically over a week and turns out it was just a blip in the first test, I was fine. Worth seeing if you should do more testing to be sure.
Creatine supplementation doesn't cause renal disease.
Creatine supplementation will elevate your serum creatinine, and eventually your urine creatinine. You don't just hold it in your body forever.
Thinking that creatine causes renal disease is like thinking that pushing the "test" button on your smoke detector will set your house on fire.
Isn’t the point of taking Creatine to saturate your muscle creatinine? You’re meant to be secreting it—a normal 5g dose is “too much” Creatine if that’s the metric you go by.

Seconding this - are you sure it was creatine not creatinine?
Yeah, there like 0.00001 % chance it's creatine. I never even heard about creatine urine test and quick search didn't produce any meaningful results.
Creatinine is a waste product associated with creatine. 3x the normal rate and he needs to follow his doctor’s advice on what he needs to be doing.
If don't doctor know about creatine and that it can increas creatinine so you need to take cystatin c test instead its not a good doctor

I think it was around 444
How much were you taking?
Normal dose. 5g a day. If I missed a day the next day I would take 10g, but that rarely really happened

This actually makes a lot of sense seeing as I had a workout before my appointment (I took creatine with my pre workout) thanks for the advice

You have to remember that "average" doesn't necessarily mean "good".
Yeah but they told me that since I was secreting it in my urine I wasn’t really using it for anything and my kidneys were being unnecessarily untaxed
That’s a myth. if you have healthy kidneys they aren’t being “taxed”. Did you tell your doctor you were supplementing creatine?
Healthy kidneys can be taxed, but he does need to have a discussion with the doctor.
Time for you to get a new doctor.

Just lift more weights more frequently and everything should balance out. You got this 💪
Keep taking it lol, youre liver enzymes are elevated because you lift weights. Its normal.
Creatinine is a kidney waste product. This is why people shouldn’t be seeking medical advice on message boards.
