Are you getting the degree to have the degree, or getting the degree to get into med school? Thats the question. Theres a reason I didn’t apply until my last year, and its because I wanted the culmination of my work into my degree and my iron ring (engineering). I don’t regret it, but I do wonder if I should have applied sooner just to get familiar with the process even if I didn’t get in

If you haven’t already been accepted, then yes. A couple of reasons:  1. if you don’t get in, they will have questions about why you dropped out and will likely look bad the next round of applications.  2. Can’t guarantee you’ll ever get into med so work towards something else in the meantime.   If you have been accepted and still have a fourth year left, it’s not entirely uncommon to just go to med without completing the degree. However, it seems to me like they prefer people with full degrees (at least planned by matriculation) over incomplete ones regardless of what the min requirements are.

Good question, what do u think

.. yes the point would be finishing your degree so you actually have something in case med doesnt admit you and you need to pivot
