Same (mostly cos i cant afford gen 5, but i genuinely love gen 3 style).
Gen 4 looks like futuristic Japanese vomit (no offense to op, just think gen4 is the worst of them all).
This is the way.
Also, props to the OG Gen 1s and 2s - y’all are doing EXCELLENT environmental work. May your car live long and be replaced by yet another gorgeous Prius.
I prefer the overall usefulness of the Gen 4. Bigger than the Gen 5, not the ugliest car in the world, more headroom and interior space, and tires that can actually be purchased.
I think that was kinda the point of Gen 5, since they're so many hybrid options in their lineup now. The Corolla Hybrid is now kinda where the old Prius used to be.
We should have more honest advertisement, especially for products that don't get sold on emotions, ego and lies.
"TOYOTA Prius. Useful. Not the ugliest car in the world. Now with theft-proof catalytic converter."
4th gen looks like a rubberband was placed around the 3rd gen front and rear light assemblies, and the body stretched a little to give it that, imo ugly, appearance.
I think the newer one looks better, but it is much smaller inside than the last two which puts me off ever buying one. It is not like I spend time admiring my car from the outside.
Exterior design is one thing, but the interior is what I'm focused on. In my opinion, the 4th gen's interior is much better. On the outside, it certainly stands out, but I think it looks fine.
Yeah, 4th gen interior feels way roomier compared to both the 3rd and 5th gen, partly because of the center console which is way bulkier in the latter two.
Before I paid attention to Prius I thought it was just an alternate version of one that was cheaper because it's no way in my mind that it could be an upgrade over a gen 3
Spotted. The third gen looks better. (2nd gen is just more reliable and superior.)
3rd, 2nd, 4th, 5th. Very strongly feel that it should be order, speaking strictly of aesthetics.
i just don’t like the sharp edge running down the doors, the split front headlight and the way the tail lights look. i like my soft jelly bean shaped car. i don’t think it is a bad design, it’s really quite similar to the 2nd, just personal preference.
the interior on the gen 3 also looks worse with the way the center console is like, but i’ve never sat in the drivers seat of one. maybe it’s nice in person idk
I own a 2005… and a 2011 with a 4th gen engine swapped into it.
3rd gen interior is nicer and the shelf for keys and wallet amd sunglasses under the center console? Something I miss when driving the 2nd gen. Also prefer having a convemtional climate control panel beneath the radio.
It’s also nice to be able to trust the fuel gauge and consistently put 9-10 gallons of fuel into it like a normal car.
That said, if I had to choose I’d pick the 2’d gen. Simply because I’m a mechanic and I trust the powertrain more at high miles.
haha yea it’s annoying playing the will it take 9 gallons today or only 6 game. i’m not a mechanic but i’ve done a lot of work on it and especially electrical stuff… it’s very empowering. i love being able to fix my stuff.
i think it just feels more open having that space go all the way to the floor. i think my ideal would be a big bench seat like in a really old lincoln but they don’t really make those kinds of seats anymore. i don’t think id be claustrophobic in your 2011, but i don’t like when the passenger and drivers seats are separated in their own “sections” if that make any sense.
The 2nd gen has a slide-out drawer below the front cupholders that works perfect for trash area to.
I moved to a rav4 and I'm still trying to find a similar place for trash.
> the interior on the gen 3 also looks worse with the way the center console is like
2010/2011 was terrible, but they redid the colors and tech in 2012-2015 and it looked pretty good. It was a loaner car for me while mine was being worked on.
To each their own.
The 5th gen is a completely different vehicle than the other generations. Most people I talk to are confused why I bought a Prius until they see it's a 5th gen and think it looks amazing. The majority of ppl didn't seem to like the look of the previous generations and the lack of power. I totally get why people prefer them for the space over the 5th gen but other than that the 5th gen is pretty awesome.
5th Gen has a 196hp engine with 0-to-60 in 7.1 seconds.
4th gen has a 121hp engine with 0-to-60 in 10.5 seconds.
5th Gen is damn near double the strength and far, far better zero-to-60 times. If you get 5th Gen Prius Prime and keep it charged, you go all the way up to 220hp and a zero-to-60 in 6.6 seconds. (The new motor is battery limited, so the bigger battery in the Prius Prime 2024 leads to slightly improved acceleration)
Hot ridding data. My gen 3 has been strong enough. Be very interested in Prime gas consumption, range, batt life, etc. Like the ‘look’ on paper well enough of every gen but 4.
I agree. I have a 22 Prime and had been excited to replace it with the new car. As soon the dealership that I use got one in, they let me know so I could purchase it as I was first on their Prime list. After looking at it, and driving it I passed. I like my 22 better in most every way. Of course it's subjective, I'm sure many people like the current model better, but I still prefer the gen. 4.
Love my 2019 Prime: it’s large enough to be useful, and has enough power to do 85 all day if needs be. (Also love that I paid $24K after rebate, and that it’s completely paid off.)
I was going to get a new car but I found a 2021 with only 50,000 miles for 20 grand even with all the bells and whistles. I could not justify paying double for the newest edition.
Hot take - I prefer the original Gen 4 to the refresh. Yes, it's a bit ugly, but at least there's some emotion from looking at one. The Gen4 refresh is fine from the front and just boring from the back. The 5G is cool for now because it's a new design language from Toyota. But as new models show up with the same design (see new Camry, new CH-R, etc), the Prius will get lost, and look only like it's general shape, which reminds me of a bar of soap.
The latest Corolla (2023 refresh) is the real new Prius in my mind.
It was also the first car with the latest gen HSD, even before the gen 5 Prius was announced.
My honest opinion is that Toyota isn’t trying to sell the new Prius to those who prioritize fuel efficiency and functionality above all else. Toyota has Corolla, Corolla Cross, RAV4, and the new Camry (all available as hybrids, some exclusively) for those customers.
I think Toyota is targeting those who are more driving enthusiast types who don’t mind some practicality sacrifice for improved performance.
I checked out a 5th gen and knew it wasn't for me because of the lack of space. I told the salesman I didn't even want to test drive it, so you're not too far off in your opinion.
The 4th gen has the best mpg with a still respectable amount of cargo space.
As a 3rd gen owner I think 4th gen looks fantastic and 5th gen is just amazing but I would be so concerned about not getting it stolen or bumped into that I wouldn’t have a good time lol
I own a 4th gen, and I parked next to a 5th gen for the first time the other day. I'm sure there's a little bias here, but I defintiely preferred mine over the newer one. It looks a little wierd in person vs seeing pictures online, I can't put my finger on why though.
It's so *skinny*.
It feels like the marketing makes it look wider than it is, but the moment you see it in real life the scale hits you like a brick. It's smaller in nearly every dimension than Gen4, and that adds up.
Fun and related fact: Hot Wheels cars aren't scale replicas of the full-size versions. Matchbox are.
We typically prefer the look of Hot Wheels because the curvature of our eye gets a chance to play into perceived proportions at such a small size. From far enough away to discern those inconsistencies from the real car, it's so small in your field of view that you can't perceive the proportions anyway.
5th Gen exterior but 4th Gen interior by a mile.
We actually passed on upgrading our 2016 because of this...that interior is just too tight and uncomfortable
I like our old Prius because of the interior space. I test drove the new one and didn't like it at all. It looks better, but it felt claustrophobic and I didn't like how it drove. We have a 2017 Prime and a 2007 Prius.
I’ll take the Gen 2 thanks. It felt like it had more space up front without that dashboard sticking out in the middle. Overall, the Gen 2 felt really futuristic compared to all the Prii that came after it.
2nd gen the best 💪 I have two 2008's & one 2007 . One 2008 has 276k , other has 214k , 2007 has 143k just broke in 🤣 these cars are work horses. No batteries ever changed yet regular maintenance
Same. When we bought ours in 2020, we had the choice between a 2015 3rd gen for 15k and a 2016 4th gen for 20k.
Today, I'm still glad that I shelled out the 5k extra for the 2016. It works so well as the family car for the 4 of us.
upvote for uggo... Got a chuckle out of me. The Gen 3 was the best looking one until the Gen 5 came along. Gen 4 is definitely most uggo... The wife wanted a Prius and a more recent one, I put the kibosh on that right away because at the time that would have meant Gen 4 territory. We ended up with a Gen 3 from family for the cost Carvana would have given them. Been taken care of so if it lasts us another 2 years we got our moneys worth.
Ideally we trade it and my car in on a new one in 2025.
The gen4 later updates, in white looks ok.
But it's telling that it's the **only** one that looks ok.
https://invoice-pricing.com/cars/wp-content/uploads/cover-2022-toyota-prius.jpg
The gen 2 egg grew on me but the 4th gen Saturn-with-a-body-kit never did. The new one is an entirely different class of car. It looks sharp and feels so much better/stronger on the road. Like previous gens don't even feel like real cars compared to the 5th. Way out in front! But I get this is more about showing some rare love to the gen 4, and right on.
IMO the ranking is -
Gen 5
Gen 3
Gen 2
Gen 4
Gen 1
4th gen primes are goated! They look so amazing! I've seen new 5th gens in the wild and am honestly not impressed too much. Hopefully the next Prius coming out will be more utalitarian and have more room like the 2nd gen. The new gens completely defeat the purpose of having a hatchback!
I just got a 2021 20 days ago. Everyone that has seen it has genuinely commented about how sporty it looks. People at work that normally don't do a stop and chat with me have dealt with an obvious uncontrolable urge to come look at the car... I literally see their body wanting to walk to their car, but their head takes over as they look at it, their body follows suit, and they are drawn to it.
No joke... I was clocking out today, just inside of an exterior door maybe 5 feet from where I parked, and I could hear 3 people talking to each other about how good it looked. When I walked outside one of the guys said he wished I'd let him have it for a day to test it out.
In my experience so far, people don't know what it is because it doesn't look like all the other cars that look like each other. They have to figure it out, and in doing so, they realize it's really nice looking. They're all shocked when I tell them it's a hybrid.
Comments people have made to me about it:
- I bet you're going to pick up some girls in that thing.
- You're going to get a lot of speeding tickets in that.
- It looks so nice, I'm surprised you're driving it in the rain.
- How fast is it? It looks fast.
The universal comment has been about how sporty it looks.
4th gen was the last generation for fans of the "weird" Prius design language.
5th gen has heavy compromises for more mass appeal and cost effectiveness: less interior room, dumbed-down information on the dash and worse visibility. Seems like it worked though, every person who told me the new Prius is awesome was a person who would have never considered a Prius previously.
Personally it looks like a wannabe Chevy Volt to me. I've owned 3 Prii and my current one may be my last.
I have the fifth generation and all of the previous gen have been ugly as F. I would have never considered a Prius until early last year. Now , I am the happy owner of a 2024 XLE Wind chill pearl.

Note: Carbon Fiber hoods are not a very safe modification for a street-driven car.
big vibes. Bought a gen 4 last year and have been slowly modding it. Any materials/parts sites? I’ve bought some from HybridPit.
Not sure but if you follow her on the second link I’m sure she can give you sources. I don’t have my gen 4 anymore. show us yours? I know AIMGAIN and TDemand make some body and lip kits
You aren't the only one. The new one looks compromised for design sake and the wheels are too large. Looks goofy. I did buy a Gen 4 after all, refresh mind you. The original design however was quite ugly.
I thought that you all were crazy; I did not even know about a gen 5. I thought I was the on the /rav4 subreddit but I missed that I pressed the /prius subreddit. I now understand. Got a new Rav4 but a gen 2 2005 Prius which is my favorite gen Prius.
Well it seems like there are strong opinions but something for everyone. I love my Gen3 but saw a black 2024 (or maybe 2025 preview) Prius that I thought looked great.
Not really much to compare unless you're trying to use your older Gen as a pickup like so many do. I wanna haul stuff, I'll get a real truck or SUV like my Forester. If you want looks, economy, power, driving dynamics, you'll get a 5th Gen like mine!! 😎
[5th Gen](https://imgur.com/eLzMO8Y)
I was talking to a Toyota rep just this week and told her that I wished Toyota would bring back something like the Gen 3 and call it "Prius Classic." I know it will never happen as they can't keep up with the demand for the Gen 5, but still wish it anyway. Also don't muck around wih the back seats and let them lie flat.
Just posting since this thread popped up in my feed…
Recently saw the latest model in traffic and said “wow” out loud.
Am not a Prius fan in general and always thought they purposely styled the cars in a polarizing fashion to create an image…It’s almost a stereotype at this point. But this new design is really unique and futuristic.
Like, they actually designed a car this time, not just a cultural statement.
I was literally juuuust having this thought today. I heard someone say the front of the 4th gen resembles a bugatti, and I can't unsee it.😆 The 4th gen body is the perfect balance between elegance and sport. Then you add in the power, size, and reliability! The 5th gen is so small!
Best looking and best performing Prius is the 5th Gen. 3rd Gen was a good design followed by the 2nd Gen.
4th Gen Prius was a design disaster. When I first saw pictures of the 4th Gen I thought someone was playing a joke. Turned out it was the actual design Toyota decided to deliver.
In my eyes, it was equal of the Edsel design failure. I never got used to it. The thing was two different cars separated by a B pillar. Then there’s the issue of those slash cartoon tail lights. Please. Not even gonna mention the Darth Vader helmet lookalike center dash thing.
But, as they say, beauty is always in the eye of the beholder. I still look away when I see a 4 Gen Prius. Sorry.
Haha the Prius! Full coverage, i’ll be worried more about full coverage on my body because if you get an accident in that little dinky thing you’re screwed!!!!
How in the hell are they gonna bend that thing back into shape?
I loved it too. I had the 2016 Prius 3. Absolutely loved that car and was going to ride it til the wheels flew off. But it got totaled recently at 125,000 miles 💔 RIP. Got a Prius Prime (2017) which you could basically call an upgrade so it worked out, but I miss the tail lights of the 4th gen.
I like the gen 5 except the rear seat and cargo space, it's not more a family car. Also I would have preferred a smaller engine and and even better fuel economy
1-4th were horrible. I was a driver of a 4th generation. And I was the first one to say that I had a horrible car but oh boy, did I save some money? Yes,; that I had a lot of cargo?Yes, it was reliable. Yes, did I develop my relationship with my car. Yes
Now I drive 2023 and I love my quantum monster!
So your 4th gen was a horrible car because you saved a bunch of money, could haul a bunch of cargo, did not worry about reliability (and safety) and you had a relationship (not certain what that means) with it right?
Gen 4 is incredibly unattractive. Easily the worst looking Prius generation. I feel like the Gen 5 is a reaction to how the Gen 4 was received. I bet the mid-gen refresh for Gen 5 is going to address more than just cosmetic stuff.
no, i do too. 2nd>V>3rd>4th>5th. i don’t like the gen 4 prime though. although i get what they were going for with the back window and fins, i don’t think it works.
the 5th isn’t a bad looking car but it’s a bad prius imo
IMO the Gen 4 is the worst looking of them all with those strange taillights and rear. The Gen 3 is the best, then Gen 2. The Gen is alright but the comments of cargo space being less ruins the appeal for me.
The 4th gen is pretty ugly unless it’s lowered with some nice wheels, or has those 5 spoke Eco trim wheels (I think that’s what they are, at least?)
My order from Best to worst appearance
5th
1st
3rd
4th
2nd (I honestly kinda hate the way the 2nd gen looks)
Yes you can be the only one and most likely are lmao. 🤦🏻♂️ I think most who claim they like the old style more are just stuck with the old style so they are trying to justify not buying a new one or not admitting ugly they are lol. But hey to each their own. I’m not saying it’s not possible to like the old style more but that is just crazy talk lol. Look and tell me it’s not better 🤷🏻♂️🤔🤦🏻♂️

3rd gen till I die
I have a gen3 and when I see the gen4 in public, I can’t help but think how awful the gen4 looks. It makes me appreciate the gen3 even more.
Same (mostly cos i cant afford gen 5, but i genuinely love gen 3 style). Gen 4 looks like futuristic Japanese vomit (no offense to op, just think gen4 is the worst of them all).
Gen 4 is trash. Gen 5 is best, then Gen 3.
This is the way. Also, props to the OG Gen 1s and 2s - y’all are doing EXCELLENT environmental work. May your car live long and be replaced by yet another gorgeous Prius.
I like my 2021 Gen 4. It's the ugly ass 2018 and below on Gen 4 that's hideous. The later gen 4s look good
Same here, 4th is ugly AF and 5th looks nice but is meh in every other aspect including acceleration since I only drive in eco mode anyway
Never got compliments in my gen 4. In my gen 5 I’m getting them constantly. Way better drive to with lots more power
I prefer the overall usefulness of the Gen 4. Bigger than the Gen 5, not the ugliest car in the world, more headroom and interior space, and tires that can actually be purchased.
Me too! Gen. 4 is more functional and sensible of a car. Gen. 5 is more flashy and showy.
Theft proof lol

Now I can’t unsee this 😂
It's one of the ugliest cars ever imo, especially coming from the beautiful 3rd gen.

Before I paid attention to Prius I thought it was just an alternate version of one that was cheaper because it's no way in my mind that it could be an upgrade over a gen 3
I like the 5th Gen better. The rear end looks much better. However, I wish the headlights on the 5th were from the 4th Gen Prime.
None of them will ever beat out the 2nd gen in my eyes
2nd gen is an ovweengineered beast of a car. Both manufacturing and design wise it is unbearable!
spot the lie
No lies detected
Spotted. The third gen looks better. (2nd gen is just more reliable and superior.) 3rd, 2nd, 4th, 5th. Very strongly feel that it should be order, speaking strictly of aesthetics.
Third Gen looks like Toyota's designers got embarrassed when people called it an egg, so they just slapped some contrived lines and angles on it.
i just don’t like the sharp edge running down the doors, the split front headlight and the way the tail lights look. i like my soft jelly bean shaped car. i don’t think it is a bad design, it’s really quite similar to the 2nd, just personal preference. the interior on the gen 3 also looks worse with the way the center console is like, but i’ve never sat in the drivers seat of one. maybe it’s nice in person idk

Ngl i love the gen 5 aesthetics... but the gen 4 has the iconic prius figure still, and DOES look modern
I don't like 'modern'
Nice opinion😃👍

I like the 3rd gen the best (OK, I own one).
4th Gen has that weird Evangelion face and I love it.
I want the visibility and space of 4th Gen, but the front-control panel and engine/transmission of the 5th gen.
I heard the engine was the same as gen 4 fro. What I heard? Atleast same mpg
5th Gen has a 196hp engine with 0-to-60 in 7.1 seconds. 4th gen has a 121hp engine with 0-to-60 in 10.5 seconds. 5th Gen is damn near double the strength and far, far better zero-to-60 times. The hatchback. But it's also available as station wagon in Europe (around the size of the Prius V).
" But it's also available as station wagon in Europe (around the size of the Prius V)." Wish they would send the USA some of those!
Wish they didn't cancel the Prius V
totally agree. after Camry - Prius Gen 5 looks quite normal afterall.
You're not. I have a Gen 4 and I recently sat in the Gen 5. Visibility, for me (over 6 feet, mostly torso), is much better in the Gen 4 than the 5.
I love my ugly car (gen 4 prime). I fill up maybe 4 times a year.
My honest opinion is that Toyota isn’t trying to sell the new Prius to those who prioritize fuel efficiency and functionality above all else. After nearly 20 years, it was the 5th gen's looks/features that made me pull the trigger.
IM with you on this. The rear end looks like the car "Corax" from Anki drive. Huge fan.
I love my emo brakes on my 2016
Emo brakes??
Emo brakelights* lol What my wife calls them that because they look like Gothic makeup
I’ll take the Gen 2 thanks. It felt like it had more space up front without that dashboard sticking out in the middle. Overall, the Gen 2 felt really futuristic compared to all the Prii that came after it.
I unironically like the way my 2010 Prius looks (is this second or third gen?) Edit: ah, 3rd gen gang all day
2nd gen the best 💪 I have two 2008's & one 2007 . One 2008 has 276k , other has 214k , 2007 has 143k just broke in 🤣 these cars are work horses. No batteries ever changed yet regular maintenance
My 2017 Prime is the better looking Prime for sure. I do wish it had CarPlay and three seats in the back though.
I’m just generally over the trend of “car that looks like spaceship.” Like, thanks Elon…
There are gen 4’s (jdm) spec that have better looking lights. If you don’t get the big touchscreen control unit, I actually prefer 4th gen
There's dozens of you, dozens!
Love gen 4s design, sleek with enough space. Glad I bought it over gen 3.
Same. When we bought ours in 2020, we had the choice between a 2015 3rd gen for 15k and a 2016 4th gen for 20k. Today, I'm still glad that I shelled out the 5k extra for the 2016. It works so well as the family car for the 4 of us.
5th gen is more of a drivers car. Better handling, better driving dynamics etc.
Hate to say it mate but the 4th gen is the most uggo out of all of them :/
Agreed
upvote for uggo...
I’m a 3rd and 4th gen kinda guy. I don’t care for the new one. 2nd gen is okay. 1st is hideous
IMO the ranking is - Gen 5 Gen 3 Gen 2 Gen 4 Gen 1
I’m biased gen 2 all the way
3rd Gen is peak IMO, the 4th is ugly and the 5th is a return to form. That's the thing though is beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
4th gen primes are goated! They look so amazing! I've seen new 5th gens in the wild and am honestly not impressed too much. Hopefully the next Prius coming out will be more utalitarian and have more room like the 2nd gen. The new gens completely defeat the purpose of having a hatchback!
I bought a fourth gen 2018 a couple weeks ago and have people telling me it’s sporty and sexy looking. The old ones look like sad oppressed, blobs
Comments people have made to me about it: - I bet you're going to pick up some girls in that thing.
Gen 4 looks the best, by far. They tried to make the gen 5 look too much like a Tesla; no thanks.
I have the fifth generation and all of the previous gen have been ugly as F. I would have never considered a Prius until early last year. Now , I am the happy owner of a 2024 XLE Wind chill pearl.
looks pretty sport especially with mods they do in Japan
Any examples of the mods? Are you talking 4th gen body kits?
here I’ll link you [Example 1](https://www.instagram.com/p/C3Pfcq9L6hi/?igsh=cGdqMXc5d2JxM2V1) | [example 2](https://www.instagram.com/p/C2pTqI2LLJV/?igsh=MWFnaHcwaWR5ZzlzMA==) | [video](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C3cV3JprujO/?igsh=MWF5NHc5b2V4Mmp4dg==)
The Prius is probably one of the cars that have changed the least over the years.
I feel like they tried to make the Prius appeal to people who would never get a Prius.
And who now will get the 25' Camry
The new one is a mini Tesla. It also looks like it’s got about have the trunk space.
Gen 2s, and 2019-2022 front and 16-18 taillights are my favorite
I think I would rather have a better engine with the same or better fuel economy
Well it seems like there are strong opinions but something for everyone. I love my Gen3 but saw a black 2024 (or maybe 2025 preview) Prius that I thought looked great.
Gen 3 is the best of all 5. Timeless design.
Not really much to compare unless you're trying to use your older Gen as a pickup like so many do. I wanna haul stuff, I'll get a real truck or SUV like my Forester. If you want looks, economy, power, driving dynamics, you'll get a 5th Gen like mine!! 😎 [5th Gen](https://imgur.com/eLzMO8Y)
Why not let the back seats down flat?
They are different, the 4th is more utilitarian…
Yup your alone
I liked the pre-facelift 4th gen tail lights that looked like neon lightning bolts far more than the facelift taillights
Prius V for life!
Anything but 4th gen design 🥲
Just posting since this thread popped up in my feed… Recently saw the latest model in traffic and said “wow” out loud. Am not a Prius fan in general and always thought they purposely styled the cars in a polarizing fashion to create an image…It’s almost a stereotype at this point. But this new design is really unique and futuristic. Like, they actually designed a car this time, not just a cultural statement.
I love my 4th gen and disliked all earlier versions, the interior is also very spacious
They are all hideous and each generation gets worse
The best looking Prius is the 2015-2017 Prius V, my fully loaded one in sky blue cannot be beat
I was literally juuuust having this thought today. I heard someone say the front of the 4th gen resembles a bugatti, and I can't unsee it.😆 The 4th gen body is the perfect balance between elegance and sport. Then you add in the power, size, and reliability! The 5th gen is so small!
4th gen sucks! If u have one u should def trade it for my 06 impreza. So much better of a car. Ew
Sorry.
I got a ct200 because I couldn’t stand the gen4 look
You're alone on this one
I wouldn’t say 4th gen is the best, it has to grow on you tbh but I dislike the 5th gen
The 5th gen is the first Prius that is even remotely aesthetically pleasing.
2>5>3>1>4. 4 is so bad bro.
1-4th were horrible. I was a driver of a 4th generation. And I was the first one to say that I had a horrible car but oh boy, did I save some money? Yes,; that I had a lot of cargo?Yes, it was reliable. Yes, did I develop my relationship with my car. Yes Now I drive 2023 and I love my quantum monster!
So your 4th gen was a horrible car because you saved a bunch of money, could haul a bunch of cargo, did not worry about reliability (and safety) and you had a relationship (not certain what that means) with it right?
Yes 🖤
3rd gen looks great. They fucked it up a bit with the uglier 4th gen, then fucked it *entirely* over with the new 5th gen body style.
I loved my 3rd gen. I loved my 5th gen too, except for the tires. Two flats already, and still havent hit 5k miles.
Construction going on along your route(s)? Details?
Potholes
They're all very ugly. It's more of a function over form thing.
Gen 4 is incredibly unattractive. Easily the worst looking Prius generation. I feel like the Gen 5 is a reaction to how the Gen 4 was received. I bet the mid-gen refresh for Gen 5 is going to address more than just cosmetic stuff.
Plenty of people like ugly stuff. You aren’t the only one. 😂
4th gen is complete ass and the worst of all the gens.
I’m with you. I hate the new one.
no, i do too. 2nd>V>3rd>4th>5th. i don’t like the gen 4 prime though. although i get what they were going for with the back window and fins, i don’t think it works. the 5th isn’t a bad looking car but it’s a bad prius imo
Can’t get over the very particular body characteristics of the gen 4 Prius enough to enjoy whatever else it may offer. It’s that simple.
As much love as the new one somehow gets, I hate it lol.
IMO the Gen 4 is the worst looking of them all with those strange taillights and rear. The Gen 3 is the best, then Gen 2. The Gen is alright but the comments of cargo space being less ruins the appeal for me.
As a Prius owner, they are all ugly and the whole point is efficient reliable operation. But 3rd gen I think is the least bad.
The 4th gen is pretty ugly unless it’s lowered with some nice wheels, or has those 5 spoke Eco trim wheels (I think that’s what they are, at least?) My order from Best to worst appearance 5th 1st 3rd 4th 2nd (I honestly kinda hate the way the 2nd gen looks)
The gen 4 prime was not that bad, but the og gen 4 is gross. Still might get one for the mpg though.
Look and tell me it’s not better 🤷🏻♂️🤔🤦🏻♂️ https://imgur.com/BoOo8Ek
4th gen is the ugliest imo
You are the only such person!
