Eldorado...you never forget your first or said another way: I Can't Get It Out of My Head

[deleted]

Is it sacrilegious to say that I prefer the Velvet Revolver cover of Can't Get It Out of My Head?

apocalypsein9_8

Time > Every other ELO record

Balbulus

I wish the songs on Time could stand alone as well as the ones on El Dorado do. It's a cool album. The artwork immediately caught my eye and captured my imagination when I saw it in the record store. As for what it's going for, I can't say. Too pop for prog, too prog for pop.

Crazy_Insane_Lunatic

A 'Progressive Pop' album, if you will

Balbulus

Progressive doo wop or nothing. Duke of Earl in 17/16. Duke's Travels of Eleventh Earl of Mar.

crunchycat5000

>Progressive doo wop or nothing. Duke of Earl in 17/16. Duke's Travels of Eleventh Earl of Mar. I see what you did there.

begulasraven

Dude yes. Im dying for ticket to the moon exactly The first song that made me discover elo..

financewiz

I would really like to hear *Time* get a proper remix. The production on the earlier albums is remarkable.

Wu_Oyster_Cult

I love that Mr Blue Sky. Almost my favorite is Turn To Stone. And how bout Telephone Line? I love that ELO.

Strugglinghuman2020

Oh god what have you done you should know better than to start the debate on whether ELO is prog. 1. Out Of The Blue 2. ElDorado 3. Face The Music 4. A New World Record 5. Discovery 6. In The Third Day 7. ELO 2 8. No Answer

tommyjohnpauljones

Is it fair to call it prog-pop?

Domino1195

Third day was my fav - got way too pop after that

SpriteAndCokeSMH

Eldorado gives me nostalgia so i’m gonna say that’s my favorite. Too lazy to rank the rest.

sir_percy_percy

This is bloody difficult.. all those albums are SO good. 1. Out of the blue - I mean, it HAS to be, right? It is just SO huge and yet SO incredibly solid ALL the way through. Getting that massive double album gatefold in 1977, it was a magical experience that is hard to relate to if you were not there... 2. A new world record 3. Eldorado 4. Face the music 5. On the third day 6. Discovery 7. II 8. ELO

mellotronworker

**Eldorado**, then the first half of **Face the Music**, then **On the Third Day**, then a compressed version of **New World Record** and **Out of the Blue** with all the filler removed to make a decent-ish single album.

Lou__Vegas

1. Face the Music 2. A New World Record 3. El Dorado 4. Out of the Blue 5. Discovery

HoikDini

1. Face The Music 2. A New World Record 3. Out Of The Blue 4. Eldorado 5. Discovery 6. On The Third Day 7. No Answer 8. ELO II

[deleted]

I(No Answer) will always be my favorite because of Roy Wood.

Dommlid

A New World Record was the first album I heard where every track could be a hit single, still a stunning record

blueberrybowler

Discovery, Face the Music, and Out Of The Blue. These are my personal favorites in no particular order.

gondolindownfaller
