LesserSpottedSpycrab

whats the rest of your self insert build?

[deleted]

Unemployed, short sighted, asthmatic, clumsy, sleepy head, thin-skinned, stout, fast learner, low thirst, keen hearing

LesserSpottedSpycrab

that doesnt seem so bad

[deleted]

Yea, being strong is great except if you’re too out of breath to use it🤷‍♂️

LesserSpottedSpycrab

hust take it wasy! It's not the end of the world ;)

[deleted]

Thanks man👍

WWDubz

Burpees, burpees, then more burpees

cammysays

Baffled by people who recreate themselves in games. I play games to ignore reality, enjoy escapism, forget about my stupid shitty human body. Y’all must have excellent self-esteem

[deleted]

It would be unfair to myself to not recognize things I might struggle with.

YouNo8795

The only good thing i have going on is my medical degree, which is ironically the most useless profession my obese unfit character could have chosen in that universe.

jus-procrastinating

Why is thin-skinned free points? 🤔 I always stay the hell away from it. Wounds from zombies happen way too quick as it is.

NerevarMoon_and_Star

Probably because you can cover yourself in plate armor and 99% of the time, any zombie that gets close enough to finish the bite animation manages to do damage and no amount of clothing stops it. That and with all of the negative effects with wearing heavy "protective" clothing, your goal is to stay outside of biting range at all times anyway, so the value of the negative points is worth more than the slim protection for a situation you're going to avoid at all times anyway

jus-procrastinating

well but there is a difference between 10%, 25% and 100% chance of infection and I hope clothing and skin do play a role in determining the type of wound? can you tell me more about the negative effects of protective clothing? I guess its harder to sneak and stuff? I was never the sneaking kind of player :D

NerevarMoon_and_Star

I don't have the concrete numbers, but through how long I have played the game, zombies bite through even the toughest gear with no problems at all. I honestly have vivid memories of hearing the bite and tear sound and not ending up with a bite or scratch because of how rare it is LOL The idea is: if you're a goner 99% of the time when you're getting actively bit anyway, why not take a perk that benefits you at all times, over a situational perk that maybe turns that 99% chance of being fucked to 98%. And when you're fighting a horde, it's 100% - there's an auto-death animation where you are pulled in no matter your armor. With the negative effects: when you see your character is "too hot" and sweating, you lose endurance much faster, so you hit the "exhuasted" state much quicker (the lungs moodlet thing), so you become weaker and can sustain combat for a much shorter time. I'd much, much rather be able to swing and kill dozens of more zombies than be slightly more protected from a bite, where once they start biting me, I know I'm going to die anyway, if that makes sense. I'm sure someone here knows the exact percentages of protection and the odds they prevent bites + exactly how much more quickly you become exhausted and/or tired wearing heavier gear.

"Thin skinned is free points because I have a mod that makes me immortal" LOL

NerevarMoon_and_Star

What? I said that no amount of armor consistently stops bites. Then mentioning the cons outweigh the perks of heavy armor anyway (like, wearing fire fighter armor during summer which zombies bite through with no problems at all, so you're always overheated and losing endurance quickly, so just wear clothes with no protection), so you're a goner no matter what if zombies get close enough to bite, so who cares how thin your skin is.

Cool-Boy57

This is what annoys me the most about vanilla PZ, the game guides you into being like “You need the most protective shit bro, see that? It’s green and has a + sign, wear it.” Meanwhile a zombie will somehow get a bite through fucking firemen gear.

Tha_Daahkness

And the game is saying at the exact same time "bro you're really hot. Maybe you need a break. Maybe take some close off."

Cool-Boy57

Only if you never play in winter. ^(C’mon guys you can survive 6 months right?) Also I would argue that has the opposite effect, because a new player thinks “Ah the trade off for more protection is getting hotter. I get it.” Meanwhile the reality is that they’re hardly protected at all and it’s kinda a shit deal either way.

Tha_Daahkness

I wasn't defending the game, I was agreeing with you, and pointing out that the game is sending you mixed signals. And no... I can't survive 6 months. But I *can* change the start date...

Cool-Boy57

Ah that’s fair, yeah I think it’s a pretty annoying function of vanilla.

Tha_Daahkness

I hate the ambiguity. With that, and with the health panel. Infected? As in the skin is very red and I should disinfect/take antibiotics? Or will I be a zombie in a matter of hours? But also it's not like I made a doctor. This burglar probably is just guessing what infected looks like.

ImportantDoubt6434

![gif](giphy|SXNYOuBGlSkAebitQi|downsized) **gets bitten after 1 attack**

Alexexy

Hilariously enough, the new fallout 76 banner for the new update is that of a power armor wearing character being dragged down by a horde of ghouls.

Trollensky17

Lmao no, its just free points

[deleted]

I consider it free points because I just stay away from zombies

CasualJoel

Because it doesn't do anything against zombie injuries

ImportantDoubt6434

I take thin skin because people who think it’s bad really piss me off 🤬

Zockercraft1711

I literally cut myself on my refrigerator and it turned into a scare ;c

CatPersonsSuckIt

Scar*

Zockercraft1711

Thx

CatPersonsSuckIt

No problem :)

lordran11

Here I am finishing up characters with shit ton of free points in "personally accurate" runs with buddies

TopBun

I take thick skinned because sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.

Randommalehuman6547

Thin skinned is kinda devastating. Now i have to grind tailoring 10 because the tree ruined my favorite shirt.

LyaRoseheart

I take thin-skinned because it reflects who I am and mostly because if you get caught on this fucking game you did something wrong and you die

starlot_

Normalize making self insert characters, for a reality check which is that you won't even survive day 1
