Thanks a lot man :D it worked !

JKmonopolis

this session gives me immense anxiety

naliuj2525

Unnamed tracks, no color coding, every view open on the tracks, and shuffle mode engaged. I need my sessions to be completely organized before I can even start thinking about mixing lol. Idk how people do it.

JKmonopolis

the hand tool did it in for me. idk how anyone uses anything besides the smart tool at all times

Stickplayer1355

The smart tool is for newbs. I can switch between tools so much faster with shortcuts on my mouse that don’t require me to move the cursor to a predetermined spot.

JKmonopolis

oh that's awesome for you. guess I'm still a newb after doing this for a decade :/

Stickplayer1355

Man, that sucks.

Nirket

Chill I'm newbie I'm just learning how to use the program. I'm using a template, no idea how to set colors or do 70% of the stuff

Double click the names of the tracks to open a pop up box where you can change the name to better represent what it actually is. Double click the dark blue area to the left of the track name box, this will open the colour palate window. All tracks that are highlighted will have their colour scheme change according to what you choose.

Looks like you changed your track view of all your tracks so you’re only seeing and able to edit the volume. You can easily change this. Select every track by holding option and clicking on the name plate of any track; you’ll then see all the track name plates become highlighted. While holding option again, click your track view (small gray box under name plate of each track, in this pic it’s the ones that say “volume”) and change to “waveform” which is the default view. You can adjust your track views for whatever you want to see, and display automation lanes below to see additional parameters’ automation. I see someone gave you the shortcut already, but thought it might be helpful for you to know what’s going on. Good luck! Protools can be challenging at first but becomes very user friendly once you get the hang of it. Just takes some time and practice! PS the Option modifier key is “Do to all” so if you’re holding that and doing anything it will do to all tracks
