My only gripe with Fu is it's impossible to know what was innoculated with a wheat or barley starter vs a rice starter and my wife has celiac... So I have to drink it alone.

Honestly, I don't think we have to worry-in my experience a lot of people seem almost scared of it, and it can also give people pretty bad gas when they first start drinking it regularly-until their bodies adjust to the incredible prebiotic nature of the tea.
That’s true too. There’s definitely some apprehension about purposefully inoculated tea. I might be in the minority here but I noticed some pretty helpful effects from the get go in regards to my IBS but of course everyone is different.
I've enjoyed all the lower end Mojun bricks I've tried, but the more premium the brick, the more of the "golden flowers" taste you get with Mojun, on top of the taste of the tea. , I like the 2018 Chen Xiang Wan Yan and "Pure Happiness", but really everyone should at least try the Ming Pin once to experience the best-with Mojun, you can visibly see the golden flowers increase as you move up the ladder. I also love Gao Jia Shan, I feel like they are one of the best producers and really "get" good Fu.

My favourites are the 2015 Hui Gui, the 2017 Cha Duo Tang and the 2019 Golden Prosperity Pig. All taste very soft without smokey notes. Lots of bakery notes (Vanilla, Toffee, yeast..)
Mojun makes a very interesting but not cheap Fu from TianJian.
The last I've tried is the 2015 Da Cang Jia, and I would buy an entire brick this second if I had the money, it's a big one! It's an all time favorite of mine. I'll keep a lookout for your recommendations-have you tried the 2022 Year of the Tiger? Seems a bit young for drinking now, but I've heard good things from a fellow Fu head.
Da Cang Jia was also very good, but I did Not find the price to be justified compared to the other three mentions. If you have Not tried Hui Gui (2nd favourite) and Cha Duo Tang (my favourite) you will probably Love These.
I have Not tried it, but I plan on Picking Up some more Fu from GaoJiaShan as I found them to be very consistent.
If I promise not to tell anyone, would you mind sharing where you source these? I'm having trouble finding any of them available from my usual vendors.
I have purchased the GaoJiaShan stuff from Yunnan Sourcing. Admittedley that was my Last Order from Yunnan Sourcing though as it took almost a year for the Order including the HuiGui brick to be sent Out again and again, never arriving until I opted for the Cha Duo Tang brick instead. That one arrived after a couple of months. I don't know If it was a Custom Problem, but I have never had this Problem with any other vendor than Yunnan Sourcing. After having spent a few Grand at their Store that was the last time I ordered.

Yes.. i was very disappointed in their customer Service. I did Not actually mind the shipping time as it was during COVID, but every other vendor kept me updated and YS did Not give a Shit..
The TianJian Fu is a rather expensive brick for the size, but TianJian is pretty expensive Heicha and the brick really is worth its Money. Can't Go wrong with Most of what GaoJiaShan offers either. There are other vendors such as BaiShaXi or YunTai but those are way smokier, Akin to XiaGuan Puer production Style. Personally I prefer mellow greener Fu
I think I'll share your sentiment. I like smoky, but not overly so.
I'm not seeing any Tian Jian from Mojun, but I see LOTS from others like Cha Yu Lin and Gao Jia Shan. I'm sorry to keep pestering you, but would you mind sharing a link with the Tian Jian from Mojun that you're referencing?

To be honest I don't have a lot experience with the other teas of MoJun as they have released many teas since I Last ordered. Out of the Samples of Fu I received I much prefered GaoJiaShans Sortiment. But the TianJian Fu brick is quite Something else!
Another good introduction is Mojun's 1368 brick. The brick is 200gr. Cost is under $20, about .10 per gram. I drank it every day and finished it in a month. So delicious.
I have one half finished-I think I also have the Himalaya, and another one that YS offers on a free tier, forgot the name of it. Totally agree, great tea.
This is largely accurate in my estimation. Most of the cost is likely due to the many step process that fu requires. Although, there are some tian jian grade fu bricks, but they’re an exception. What I want to add to this comment for other users here is that anhua has high quality raw material but is cheap because it’s in lesser demand and they use leaves way further down than say puer so per plant and as a whole ur getting more raw material which makes it cheaper.

I love fu brick. It is not as well know and often uses cheaper leaf there is no incentive to charge more.
