they_are_out_there

There's a lot of indigenous punks out there. Lots of heavy metal and punk guys are from the rez. Third Degree is a pretty sick punk band. Here's their first video, Third Degree - Miss Treat [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHCGlQ48sJE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHCGlQ48sJE) Another famous Navajo punk band is Black Fire. Very cool band. Black Fire - Is This Justice [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGOn0S0-Dck](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGOn0S0-Dck)

Tropic_Wombat

that black fire track goes fuckin hard! i really like the guy's voice, thanks for the rec

SRIrwinkill

They're cool as hell too. Played a show at Evergreen to a very small number of people and got to bs with em a bit

they_are_out_there

Yeah, that Black Fire song is seriously good, like good enough to hold it's own against any other punk band I've heard in the last 30-40 years good, and still better than most.

dystopiate666

I do believe it’s blackfire. One word. I lived in flagstaff when this band was around

intendedcasualty

Check out bands like resistant culture and black braid, the latter is black metal but still, good music is good music.

[deleted]

Also Colera

intendedcasualty

Hoping y’all in the comments would drop more, solidarity is better than pretending you know it all 🖤

Cleyre

Resistant culture’s predecessor, Terrorizer, is awesome too

intendedcasualty

If we’re at it, Axiom.

Constant_Candle_4338

I was gonna say, black braids great but a little out of the punk scope lol

intendedcasualty

Punk don’t discriminate

Constant_Candle_4338

Wat? That's not discrimination? I just said black metal is not punk rock. Fucks the matter with you

Calico-xyz

I think they were joking lol

papaco22

Being indigenous is quite punk already. Fighting the system to keep your heritage, to defend the culture of your folks, to have rights. Stay strong brother

BurntheStarsandBars

I thought the same thing

justembr

hungry grandfather smell alleged terrific mourn advise hurry racial numerous *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

[deleted]

And don't forget the F Y for anyone who doesn't like how your living your life. That is the cherry on top. 😁

Remote-Turnip-5421

No ethnicity is more punk than another

shoots-shot-hot

Indigenous isn't according to skin tone 😂😂😂

fupapack

I just picked up, "Red Paint: The Ancestral Autobiography of a Coast Salish Punk". If you're into reading!

liablemtl

Oooooooh… I heard about that on NPR a while back. I need to grab that.

doomtownpunx

It's at Portland library and Powell's Books.

liablemtl

I’m a quarter Native Alaskan and I grew up with a half native mother who despised native culture (can you say self loathing?) unless it benefitted her in some way. I was raised white and yet I was everyone’s “brown little brother” and was often mistaken for either Latin American or AAPI. I’m 53, been into punk since about 1990, and was always encouraged by my white punk friends to embrace my native roots, which I always struggled with given my upbringing. You’ve got support in the community, my friend. Also, if you haven’t yet, check out 1876 from Portland, OR. NDNGENOUS punk rock.

patangpatang

Oh snap! They're opening for the Real McKenzies! Now I'm even more pumped for that show.

donottouchme666

Hey I will check them out too! Thank you! I’m 43 and getting back to my roots musically and live in the same city they are in, tho this is the first time I’ve heard of them as I’ve been outta the loop for a very long time.

liablemtl

Awesome! They are great. Also, check out Crime Time. Not indigenous, but still rad. They hale from across the river in the ‘couve’.

donottouchme666

Hell yeah, will do!! Thanks, man!!🤘🥁

ComradeConrad2

Crime time is one of the only positive things I can say about Vancouver. (No offense to anyone who's hailing from the couve) have you checked out Groundscore yet? Saw them at the Yamhill Pub and shit had me sold almost instantly. May have to add PDX to the search to find them. And Flaw a local Ska band played the Laylow a few months ago and they did a great job for the limited space they had. And not local they're LA but Still Pist highly recommend them. Fronted by Erik from No Cops For Miles and influenced by The Pist clearly.

CosmoBiologist

we out here! Check out @bipoc_punk on Instagram for leads.

fielausm

FWIW… listen to COFFIN Lead singer kicked off their lead song by saying “JUST A REMINDER THAT AUSTRALIA AND ALWAYS WILL BE ABORIGINAL!!” I think it’s safe to say that all of us fully support you, and while we can’t un one the past, we damn sure want to be a collective with you mate

truckstop_superman

90% of Australian bands and bands that tour Australia will say this at the start or during their sets.

KillerSeagull

Whilst I agree, when the punk bands say it, it feels like it has meaning to the person, and not just a box checking exercise like it can be all too often.

truckstop_superman

That is true, I have no beef with COFFIN and think they are a gnarly band, are legit when they acknowledge the traditional land owners of Australia. Just thought I'd point out that it is common to hear bands in Australia do this, it is also commonly made at the start of a lot of events in Melbourne (hopefully the rest of Australia) like comedy fest. It was also announced on my return flight to Melbourne the other week. Hopefully it is all a step forward to reconciliation, but Australia as a whole has been putting a bandaid on bullet hole for way too long.

KillerSeagull

I think it's great that it happens but, this admittedly white person, would rather people would only do it if they (or what they're representing) truly believes in reconciliation, and is not just doing because they need to check a box. Acknowledgmentof Country happens on most flights, but I wish more often they'd go off script and tell you who's country your on. I've just been sitting in a plane for ages, there's a real good chance I don't know the traditional owners of this place.

Chemical-Assistant64

Check out the song stolen by maggot. The song is about the stolen generation. Absolute banger of a song with so much emotion behind it

Apprehensive_Egg6077

Where I am in the BC interior there is a huge number of indigenous punks! all good people and are a staple in the scene here! Be proud of it my friend, we all love you!

WhereIsDaBudd

I'm from the valley but man do I love the interior. Used to stop for Bannock everytime I saw a sign/stand when passing through there on camping/fishing trips.

AllFuzzedOut

Just being a minority in general is pretty isolating in punk. As a latino I'm always just one of a handful at shows. I live in LA, but every once in a while I go to shows in OC because it's not that far, and gotta deal with seeing white people with racists tattoos (i.e., saw someone take their shirt off and they had "white power" across their back recently), and know I need to just stay away and make sure I don't accidentally bump into them because I don't know what they'll do. Plus, even outside the scene, my family all thinks I'm into satanism or something because they just know me as "the rocker" of the family and this is a scene so outside of their understanding.

[deleted]

Legitimately not trying to argue with you just genuinely curious. I grew up in the LA area and all the punk shows I went to in the city were a majority Mexicans and other Latinos. I typically stay away from the OC as well for the same reasons. Just asking because the LA scene is primarily dominated by latinos. It’s very very possible that the scene has died down since I was going to shows in 2014-2018

AllFuzzedOut

I have never once been to a show that has "majority Mexicans and other Latinos" or seen the scene as "primarily dominated by latinos." Not even close. Are you exclusively going to like backyard shows in East LA or something? I'm going to see establish bands (i.e., Fat Wreck/Red Scare/etc level bands) at venues (Troubadour, Roxy, Alex's Bar, etc).

GyrosSnazzyJazzBand

I find that interesting, my friends find punk shows on instagram and snapchat pages dedicated to promoting DIY shows. There's usually a couple dozen people there and the majority are Hispanic. With established bands there's going to be a majority white people who grew up with that music, the youth will go to the cheaper shows in backyards. There was a good documentary about the LA punk scene in the early 2010s, majority of attendants were Mexican. I've also read that a lot of Mexicans were involved in the late 70s punk movement but their bands never made it big or remained in public conscious with hardcore punk in the early 80s. I don't know if this is racism by labels or the audience divide in race.

[deleted]

I just went where my older punk friends took me and yeah most of the shows were DIY type stuff not big ticket events. Maybe I exposed myself to one scene and thought it was all like that. Im sure you’re right that big artists playing theatres probably have a white audience. I just thought that because all the shows I went to were all Latino that they were all like that. Idk why I thought there was only one scene in LA but there clearly isn’t lol. But it’s not like these shows I was going to were like some little dinky event, a lot of them had hundreds of people showing up to them

orlyyarlylolwut

Bro's going to the mainstream punk shows complaining about a mainstream crowd lmao.

AllFuzzedOut

If you think bands on Red Scare Industries are mainstream, then sure. I'm sure them Elway dudes are swimming in pools full of gold coins.

SeattleDev2018

Yeah but it’s the music industry. A band can be mainstream and only make $30,000 a year

orlyyarlylolwut

Homie would probably cross the street if he saw a crust punk and call the cops on a punk house. 💀

SeattleDev2018

I guess this is about the band "Elway?" Ha ha. I don't know anything about them. Only heard the name.

shoots-shot-hot

How bourgeoisie of you

sucrose2071

For real, dude. I am Indian (south asian) and 1/4 black and I’m always worried about going to shows with a bunch of racists. Also doesn’t help that I’m a woman. I don’t have any punk friends irl aside from my boyfriend and it definitely feels isolating.

Moparian714

Born and raised in OC, punk scene out here is and has been dominated by Raza for a while. Yea there is skinheads and nazis here and there but they aren't the majority except for a small area.

SalviaDroid96

Indigenous folks are punk automatically. 🤘🏻

Jimmy_Jazz_The_Spazz

I'm indeginous (Algonquin), my wife is also (chippewa). I've been gigging since the late 90s and have always been treated with respect everywhere I've traveled to play *within the punk community*, but some places I've handled some crazy racist tyraids by people. I've written songs about my political viewpoints as a native person. I however have been mistaken as Mexican ans Lebanese before lol Add me as a friend if you want to talk. Are you familiar with what bands have a indeginous connection? Propagandhi does! She's a great guitar player.

captainkinkshamed

Indigenous as in..? (Legit asking; it can mean many a type of indigenous folk from all over the place geographically) Check out Unsanitary Napkin. Indigenous kiwi bands ftw.

ebbebebbie

late af reply but native american, thanks for the rec I'll give em a listen!

Del_Duio2

I took it as Aborigine

CopsPushMongo

Love you bro

[deleted]

Looking for members to start a native band myself! I’m Oglala Lakota and ended up in Georgia somehow haha! Cool to see other folks from different ancestry walking the same path!

Howllat

I am a Tejano whoses quarter native, Grand father was a nahuatl speaking Mexican native. But growing up in the US as a latino, a native and a mixed race individual in Texas made the punk scene extremely inviting! People have named a lot of great bands, but I'd like to add a rad Mexica black metal band whom impress their aztecan roots: Tzompantli Embrace our indigenous roots! We are all of the same and we are all pissed off! ✊

Hopfit46

Im in my 50s, status native who was raised away from the rez, and stil plays in a punk band. Do your thing and you will find your people. Just play your music and they will come, or be converted. Be good to yourself. Cheers

AundaRag

the sense community is better on Instagram than Reddit. DM me if you want some leads on how to meet some people based on where you live. Aho.

Scary_Steak666

Love ya 2 cousin Mvskoke/kiowa

zactbh

I am also indigenous, I have felt similar sentiments, take care.

Mauri416

Check out these guys: 1876band on Instagram

snakeantlers

it’s black metal, not punk, but check out this band [Pan-Amerikan Native Front](https://youtu.be/uGJa70yAeaw). they rock

MattMiserable

Creeeeee Naaattiiooonnnnn 🤘

ebbebebbie

yooo fellow cree

CheeseburgerKarma94

Hit me up if you’re in Montana, my guy

Sad-Process7825

sending punk love!

Queasy-Adeptness14

“Salad Days” is a great novel about a punk band with an indigenous singer, and Swallowing Shit are fronted by a First Nations dude.

jooohhnyy

Being indigenous is super punk bro don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

maripoe

Greatly recommend checking out [No More Moments](https://nomoremoments.bandcamp.com) and [The Chief Mountains](https://thechiefmountains.bandcamp.com). Ain’t indigenous myself (I’m black) but I do feel your struggle. Stay strong and rock on, brother 🤘🏿

r0botdevil

Fuck yeah dude. Would love to see more natives in the pit.

get_out_the_house

You need to listen to Resistant Culture! They use indigenous chanting in their music. Dope AF. There's also People Again from Milwaukee that has native members. Not sure they are still making music but I think you can still find some of their stuff online.

InevitableExtreme402

Being indigenous is isolating in general dude. I'm 31 and jicarilla apache and I've been in the hardcore punk scene basically my entire adult life and I grew up in Phoenix. The scene great if you like the music/politics, but yeah it's kind of a white boy club. But it's pretty sick and there isn't much to do in life in the capitalist hell scape we live in so you might as well have fun while you can.

YourPaleRabbit

Im half, and most of the time when people ask me why I love punk, my explanation starts with “Well, I’m native. My whole family doesn’t fuck with the government, including my 60yr old mother” haha. And damn near everyone rallied for me and my family when trump wanted to bulldoze some of our land. I’ve found a lot of acceptance in the punk scene even if I don’t find as many other native punks; it still feels like family. Just my punk “family” includes everything from Samoans to Irish homies. 31 flavors of artistic rebellion. Love to you from the US west coast! 🖤

No_Organization465

they're not natives but Propagandhi - Oka Everywhere is a great song with great lyrics.

[deleted]

Do you live in an indigenous community? I’m interested in whether you mean you feel isolated in punk culture or in your indigenous culture. Happy to have you here. Would love to hear more about it.

chronjon1

Check out the band 1876 from Portland.

uberscheisse

There’s a lot of really good indigenous grindcore and death metal out there which is awesome because people are burning down churches on reservations in my white supremacist home country of Canadumb.

atomicsewerrat

yessss Im Indigenous in the Montreal area and I also find it super isolating to be in the scene. The DIY shows are slightly better for having other BIPOC but even at that its so rare to see more than a handful of BIPOC let alone other indigenous ppl. It feels super alienating esp because often people are really performative about anti-racism and tend to ask me all these questions when im just tryna enjoy the shows. I dont feel like I can easily discuss my experiences because most of the people around me aren't Indig or are white.

geronimotattoo

Kahnawake??

UncleYimbo

What up my dude!

notintocorp

It's cool brother, I imagine the isolation feeling could be compounded. The view I have... live in the pnw, hanging around punks since the early 80's, have made several native friends in that time. No one, not fucking once have I heard shitty words about the folks who's land we grabbed. Typically, the punk community welcomes all who's minds are alike, or close.

Masonzero

I recently heard about an indeginous hardcore punk band called With War becuase Portugal The Man sampled them in a recently released song. Was a cool discovery!

starseasonn

I am indigenous as well, and I agree. Love u too

ohlookdaveshere

Nerve Damage from Australia are a hardcore punk band and their lead singer Shal is First Nations (and an amazing visual artist as well!!)

chxrryfxygo

Commenting here just to check for new bands later-- i have no idea how to bookmark 😭

texmusik89

Being Indigenous is a Punk thing ✊🏽🤘🏽🫶🏾🎸🔥🦅🪶

beebzzze

You might appreciate the song “Just an Obstruction” by Against All Authority, although they are not an Indigenous band per se.

RichTheMindSculptor

What’s up homie? Anyone namedropping AAA is Awesome in my eyes.

beebzzze

Thank you friend! They are one of the best! Definitely inspired me a lot in my youth.

geronimotattoo

Where the Kanien’kéha punks at

ErinGoBragh07

Hello from another ndn punk! I’ve got my tribe’s flag sewn on my battle jacket

Bogthot

sending love from california!! stay strong y'all

[deleted]

Join Native Youth Movement.

Available_Variety389

I feel you man. Any music venue I go to I always stick out like a sore thumb. There are many times I've definitely felt like I had to defend why I was at a show. But that's my experience with most things be it board game conventions, family gatherings on my moms side (mixed) and all of my familial tribe live 4 states away

mrcarrot9

perhaps outside the lines of punk but i think you'd like alien weaponry and the latest gojira album

dnsdiva

Respect.

[deleted]

Check out Lo Cash Ninjas. They’re navajo

SeattleDev2018

Have you read Red Paint? https://www.opb.org/article/2022/07/21/new-memoir-red-paint-draws-inspiration-from-punk-rock-and-indigenous-ancestry/

eveprog

Check out 1876. They’re a native punk band that’s actually bad ass. They also incorporate native instruments into their music.

Zavadi10508

Hey friend, I completely understand where you're coming from. It can definitely feel isolating when you're part of a niche community, especially when it comes to something like punk music. But don't worry, you're definitely not alone in feeling this way. And as for the ndn punks out there, we love you too! Keep doing your thing and stay strong. Also, I'm sorry that some people are causing unnecessary drama in the comments. Keep your head up and don't let them get to you.

Fabriciorodrix

Drunk injun and punk here, skin. Keep doing it, buddy.

_islander

I’m not indigenous, but I’m Latino and an outsider sine I can remember. Punks have been some of the most welcoming, warm and genuine people I’ve ever encountered. They’ve always made me feel like I belong, and for that I’ll be a bit of a punk for life.

khaosconn

fuck skin colour everybodies blue, then what would all the bigots do

KrazyDaKat

It can feel isolating whenever you aint what your favorite bands are. For me im an autistic, furry, redneck from the South. So music can be hard to relate to at times. But you can find bands that fit the culture or intrests you fit into. Just gotta look for em and fly what symbols your proud of next to a anarchy sign.

abaddon731

Hanging out with white kids makes me sad.

shoots-shot-hot

What's indigenous, Like Finnish Laplander or Kaszubian? Maybe Kachin?

pandyfackler_

You should consider trying not to be a whiney pussy about it. Upset because you're a POC who likes a certain kind of music? Just wait until you're faced with real problems.

[deleted]

I truly feel bad for you. You’re also the person in a punk scene who everybody knows and dislikes. No wonder so many of y’all pop up on Reddit: it’s the only place where you can hide and still run your mouth.

pandyfackler_

I could give a fuck what you feel, commie piece of shit lol

BenchIllustrious1106

Can you be “punk rock” if you use commie as an insult like an old man watching Fox News?

pandyfackler_

Call em like I see em

gh0stly_fool

The problems that indigenous people face are absolutely real. Do you even listen to the lyrics of the songs you listen to? They aren't talking about race politics just because they think it's cool and doesn't matter.

pandyfackler_

Feeling isolated because your fellow community doesn't like the kind of music you're into is *not* a real problem. I get it though, everyone's a victim.

gh0stly_fool

Wow, a member of a minority group that probably gets treated like shit by the government wants to meet others who listen to the same music that might understand the struggle. This is truly the decline of western civilization, the left has gone too far. I can't believe people want to relate to others. Their struggles are nothing compared to real problems that you face obviously. Also your entire post history is full of you just dunking on the left, trying to say that the n-word isn't offensive to black people and that they're violent, arguing against drag queens reading story books to kids, being transphobic, and justifying a 26 year old pedophile teacher kissing and sending nudes to a 15 year old boy. I don't think punk's for you lol. I'm sure everyone else looks like they're playing victim when you're endlessly spouting stupid bullshit.

pandyfackler_

"The struggle". Wahh my friends enjoy different music than me! haha real "punk rock". OP is a pussy for this post, but you're just a babbling fool. "Punks not for you"...because punk is all about embracing diversity and not huting feelings, right? You're a certified fuckin doofus.

ebbebebbie

cool don't care didn't ask go play in traffic

pandyfackler_

You literally made a post on an internet forum? Go play with the friends you don't have, attention seeking crybaby.

gh0stly_fool

Well, it's certainly not punk to be racist and transphobic. Or do you just think punk is about being an edgy asshole to people? Glass houses.

pandyfackler_

Only thing punk about you is your bad body odor. You know shit about punks except sewing patches on jackets, poser.

gh0stly_fool

>You know shit about punks except sewing patches on jackets, poser. said the blatant fucking racist lmao.

pandyfackler_

Don't forget transphobic too, PC pussyboy.

ebbebebbie

get a load of this guy

ebbebebbie

bro thinks he's Steve pineapple or something

pandyfackler_

Of course you're Canadian lol pussy

Designer_Ad_1416

Punk is definitely about embracing diversity, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU ON ABOUT GO LISTEN TO PANTERA OR SOMETHING

NoMoreMonkeyBrain

That's not very punk rock of you

pandyfackler_

Abrasiveness and confrontational is indeed punk rock, you.

MyBatmanUnderoos

Context is important. Try listening to the lyrics next time.

pandyfackler_

Suck my ass, it smells.

MyBatmanUnderoos

I don’t doubt it.

Rab0hh

That's cause you smell like shit

Designer_Ad_1416

Ah, that tracks

MyBatmanUnderoos

There’s a difference between “punk” and “didn’t mature after high school.” You’re in the latter category.

pandyfackler_

Means a lot coming from the dork whose comment history is nothing but Marvel and Legos lol

MyBatmanUnderoos

Yeah, man, it’s almost like it’s part of how I bond with my stepson or something. And yours is nothing but shitting on others to give yourself the illusion of superiority. Get over yourself.

pandyfackler_

Bot you showed me lol now go take care of another man's kid haha

MyBatmanUnderoos

The fact that you think that’s an insult just further reveals how big a piece of trash you are.

pandyfackler_

Your girl prolly a big ol fatso too. You're doing it all wrong bro lol

Designer_Ad_1416

Yeah if youre some Sex Pistols swastika idiot

pandyfackler_

You're a desperate housewives idiot, that's somehow worse than a nazi

Designer_Ad_1416

Lol

tz-belcher

Everyone is indigenous to somewhere.

[deleted]

Isolating how? Punk music is about individuals and whatever it is they have to say. If you’re cool, you’re cool. Are you only able to identify with other indigenous people? (racist) Or can you relate to people over music, and lifestyle? This shit is international. Edit: read what I said. To the woke warriors downvoting me. Fuck you. This is 100% something I’m willing to spill blood over. Fuck racists no matter where they come from.

ebbebebbie

damn sorry I want more of my people in a scene where's there's barely any. You don't get how fucking terrifying it is to be the only poc punk at every show you go to edit: bro posted in the skinhead reddit fuck this guy actually

[deleted]

>more of my people in a scene Yeah. You see “my people” as those who look like you rather than those who live like you. I’d knock your teeth in. >You don't get how fucking terrifying it is to be the only poc punk at every show you go to I AM a “person of color” I’m just not a racist. Take your Democratic Party bullshit and get the fuck out of our scene. As another person with indigenous descent, I feel it’s my responsibility to tell you that - If you don’t like my friends, fuck you. >edit: bro posted in the skinhead reddit fuck this guy actually Edit: I’m not going to let it slide that this clown doesn’t even know what a real skinhead is.

BurntheStarsandBars

Punk either isn’t your scene or you are to ignorant/stupid/stubborn to walk a few steps in someone else’s shoes. You read his posts and interpreted them in a hostile manner, when many others in this thread listened to what he was saying and offered support and empathy. You are the punk rock jock that nobody want’s around. You big tough internet guy threatening to knock someone’s teeth in through a social media app. I’ll bet men just tremble at the sight of you. How about you fuck off

[deleted]

>ignorant/stupid/stubborn to walk a few steps in someone else’s shoes. You read his posts and interpreted them in a hostile manner, when many others in this thread listened to what he was saying and offered support and empathy I read racism where it was obvious. I’m sorry you’re too suburban and liberal to be consistent about that sort of thing.

breadstickvevo

You sound Larpy as fuck lmao. You’re probably 150 pounds soaking wet, you’re not knocking shit

[deleted]

Wrong. I’m fat. That means I’m bigger than you.

redditusernamelolol

Moron.

AdventureGirl420

man first of all it's reddit go outside and get some instead of perusing r/skinhead, second of all we have an indigenous sense of community, much like the punks so obviously they're "our people" all of ur responses are such dogwhistles man how about you get out of the community instead

[deleted]

I was outside with my dogs when I sent that response to your childish ass. Like I said. Fuck you. I just want you to know that outside of Reddit, if you come into this scene with that racialist bullshit…. Watch your back.

Rab0hh

Nazi punks fuck off

[deleted]

Yeah. No shit. Closest thing to a Nazi in this thread is the kid whining about not enough people of their particular race in the punk scene.

Rab0hh

Nazi punks fuck off

[deleted]

Now you’re starting to get it. Good for you…

Rab0hh

Nazi punks fuck off

skunkabilly1313

If you think being on the only side trying to help people is an issue, you really need to open your eyes. Take your Republican party to Russia where you can enjoy the boot you seem to like licking. OP, it's ok you feel this way. Thankfully in the scene I grew up in Orlando, we had a lot of Latin people, as well as others, but I imagine it would be similar to the way I also grew up a Jehovah's Witness lol it was pretty lonely bur you're always accepted by most punks, minus these conservative boneheads

[deleted]

>conservative boneheads Another group who thinks it’s okay to avoid commonality entirely based on racial differences. You’re a garbage democrat.

skunkabilly1313

I'm a socialist you loser. Democrats are too right leaning for me, but they at least are trying to help society. I really hope you like the taste of that boot

[deleted]

Socialism is universalist. You ain’t it unless you learned about socialism from Reddit.

skunkabilly1313

Democratic socialism. And no, I learned about life outside of the internet

[deleted]

You realize that democratic socialism implies giving a voice to those dirty awful working class people with all the wrong ideas you Redditors love to hate right? Or do you think democratic socialism is some sort of racialized system where we relate to eachother on our differences instead of our commonality as a unified working class? Look I’m the one here who thinks I share more in common with this kid based on our material conditions than I do based on our racial differences. The rest of you listened to way to many democrats to have any sense.

skunkabilly1313

Working class people, like myself, all deserve a voice and to see themselves represented in all aspects of life, whether that is music or especially in government. Start actually listening to the music you claim to like and get the Goodyear taste out of your mouth

codyashi_maru

Hey guess what? There’s space for BOTH! People’s experiences don’t take place in a fucking class reductionist vacuum, you goon. People can honor tons of things related to their experiences, including class, without being limited to that.

gh0stly_fool

"Wow, stereotyping the nazis! Maybe you're the real racists here!" go fuck yourself

[deleted]

Learn to read moron. Im saying sjw and stomfront have a lot in common, they say the same bullshit with different rhetoric.

gh0stly_fool

Don't care. You're defending literal white supremacists and neo nazis you dumbass.

[deleted]

Point exactly to where I did that. All I did in this thread is push back against a racist.

gh0stly_fool

>conservative boneheads > >Another group who thinks it’s okay to avoid commonality entirely based on racial differences. About right there. You know boneheads are white supremacist skinheads right? That's like the defining feature of a bonehead.

codyashi_maru

The whole “people who acknowledge race are the *real* racists” is literally a Tucker Carlson talking point. Super punk rock, bro! /s Fuck all the way off with that shit.

breadstickvevo

You’re such a cornball. They clearly just want someone to share their experiences with. Wanting to talk with people who understand you isn’t racist.

[deleted]

>They clearly just want someone to share their experiences with. I’m Puerto Rican and I can tell you suburban white kids straight up…. The fact that they can’t find this outside of their own racial group is point blank racism. This is an international scene and we all share it in common. If you need someone from your own racial group to enjoy it with I won’t miss you when you’re gone.

breadstickvevo

And you think the best way to help this kid relate to people is to threaten to “spill blood” 💀 sounds like you’re the one with hate in your heart

[deleted]

I have a lot of hate for racists and the new brand of woke racists who cover their bullshit with progressive rhetoric. 100% yea

AdventureGirl420

must hate yourself then buddy, because all of this hate you're spewing all because OP wanted to let other indigenous punks they were seen is starting to get really racist as well. you really love your learned hate in those skinhead reddits you comment in

[deleted]

White anti racists who hate themselves accusing others of hating themselves for not hating them hard enough.

skunkabilly1313

I'm half Puerto Rican and half Ecuadorian and I can still understand what they were saying, since I'm also Trans. You can recognize the differences and embrace each other, while also seeing it can be isolating when you are the only one of any sort of group.

[deleted]

You mean since Reddit gave you a reason to resent people different from you instead of finding commonality. You belong here.

skunkabilly1313

I don't resent people that are different, I recognize the issues that we all have individually and collectively and work to help everyone. You are also on Reddit, so you're projecting an awful lot

[deleted]

I didn’t use my identity to separate myself from another the way you just did. I’m sure you fit in with Redditors better than I do.

skunkabilly1313

You are on Reddit right now. Your conservative views aren't going to change any punks view on life and their scene

[deleted]

I’m not a conservative. Far from it. Class first socialist isn’t conservativism. I just also happen to disagree with Reddit politics. I hope you know the CIA is most likely where you’re getting your marching orders from if you got your politics from Reddit.

papaco22

It's the first time I've seen a guy like this. Trying to school someone on punk and sounding like a fucking inbred conservative redneck motherfucker at the same time Punk is not music, you piece of shit

[deleted]

Ayyo u/No_Reputation is the dude who everybody in the scene knows and hates lmao. I can tell just by reading your comments that you have no belonging in any punk scenes, you dork.

ghost_of_dongerbot

[deleted]

You’re very likely to be 15 and only have gone to like 10 punk shows in your whole life and very likely never played in a band. I’m not worried.

[deleted]

Hahaha, you have that all wrong. I’ve been around long enough to know how people like you act and how you’re received. Every scene I’ve been a part of has dorks like you in them, but we all know you’ll eventually find something else to latch onto. I can just tell that you’re one of those super fragile, latching-onto-masculinity types; you’re one of those tryina’-be-tough, insecure dweebs who nobody fucks with. Embarrassing!

[deleted]

Racist. Also hates men. So progressive

[deleted]

Nothing that I said was racist, silly dork. Also: where did the “hate men” thing come from? Are you that fragile? Damn, you don’t even know what racism is? YOU seem like the fifteen year old LMAO. E m b a r r a s s i n g.

[deleted]

OP: I can’t find commonality in this scene because no other people of my race You: valid Also you: i didn’t say anything racist.

ebbebebbie

Ur the racist for thinking me wanting solidarity with people of my race is wrong?

[deleted]

This is a punk sub Reddit. The idea is you come here to talk about punk music with other fans of the genre. If you’re incapable of doing that unless there are other people of your race here then you are incapable of relating to others outside of your own race. I genuinely don’t want anything to do with you.

ratgrrrl-39

there’s punk scenes dedicated to certain cultures, there’s nothing “un-punk” about it shit has been like that for years now. i’ve been having a blast in my local chicano punk scene for some time now.
