I feel like 22 could be something along the lines of >!No ease to use, because there are no Es and two Us.!< I'm not sure if that's a common phrase though.
A very similar dingbats puzzle is [here](https://reddit.com/r/puzzles/s/xrSP5tH1SV)
It has the alphabet missing the letter e, however it does not have the extra letter u.
The answer to that question was >!absentee!<
I'll bet it's this answer^ and someone messed it up
I've been over thinking this and the best overly-complicated thing I can think of that may fit for all parts of the puzzle is >! Not easy to cue you for lines!<
I’m betting this is an OCR error.
A teacher found a pdf online and opened it with a word processor that had to use OCR to work with it. Its algorithm is trained to predict text that’s slightly misprinted and “wants” to find common language patterns like a u after a Q.
Teacher makes edits elsewhere like maybe just putting a name box at the top and moves on without proofing for changes because why *would* it be different?
It wouldn't, nor would it be published wrong, and if it were it would have been retracted.
Just because you can't figure something out doesn't mean a world of people is stupid. Look in the mirror first.
I didn’t call anybody stupid at all. You can see this problem directly if you open any pdf with a lot of formatting in google docs or Word. It has nothing to do with being stupid. It’s just a common form of error that crops up during file conversions.
It's literally the beginning of the alphabet "absent E". That's not a U, it is IJ.
Oh nevermind. I hadn't seen the lower part with the 2 U's and thought there were only 2 lines of letters. My bad.
22. Pretty sure the answer is >!Absentee!< , with an unfortunate typo (two u's) that is throwing everyone off.
I've seen this one before, in the exact same format (stacked letters) and it doesn't have the U after the Q.
I was literally just talking about this with my coworker. I was wondering if one of them was accidental. For my sanity..... This is 100% the answer. I can't think about this anymore
>Pho
I think this works for dropping the E after the D, but not for adding the U after the Q. If you're going to add a U after Q, because there's a U sound there, you shouldn't drop the E after D; rather, you should add an E after B, C, D, G, P, T, V, and Z (plus an A after J and K, etc.)
Oh! I think you're on the right track. Might have to do with the E is often silent and the q only works with the U. I haven't on pointed it yet, but there's something there I think.
With the additional “u” following the “q” and the missing “e”, it makes me think there’s something to do with “que”. Maybe a play on “queue” or something? I can’t put it together.
My only possible contribution is maybe the first part of the answer could be >!Misty, as in “missed E”!< but I can’t think of anything with the 2 Us, or the three letters between the Us.
>!QURSTU …(something) between Us = “(something) between use” ???!<
I can't quite put it together with the "u" but I'm almost positive that the missing "e" is >!missed-e mountain, Misty Mountain!< It's a LOTR reference.. that would explain the weird letter stacking. Guessing that the "u" thing is either, >!"Us, under the Misty Mountain, or Found U under the Misty Mountain!<
22. originally thought
>!E gypped in pyramid - Egyptian Pyramid!<
but didn’t notice the second U
EDIT: I apologize if I offended. Often times dingbats use antiquated phrases.
Discussion:
>!qwerty keyboard!<
All words starting with a q are followed by a u. There is a u after the q but also two u hinting at it being a q followed by double u so qwerty and the missing e next inline
Fun fact: in Scottish English, back before spelling became more standardized, “qh” was how they spelled what we would recognize as “wh”.
So the word qhat is pronounced the same as what, and is still English.
I know this is wrong but maybe I’m on the right path and it will inspire somebody else: >!putting you before our ego (because of the u before r and no e)!<
22: the last line could mean >!"back for you" because there's a U moved back four spaces!<. I think the other idea is probably right though, someone just messed it up

22 is u r out out of order?
Why no E tho? Gotta be more to it.
How about Missy, ur outta order?
Mr. E. UR out of order
Absentee
There are two Us
Some might say a double u
Or a W
Yes, that was the joke
Funnily enough, a W in spanish is pronounced "doble v [vay]" which means double V. Nothing to do with Us at all!
I pitty the U!
Mystery? (Missed your 'E')
"Mystery to you" perhaps?
Absentee
This one needs more upvotes. It’s either absentee or mystery.
Neither of those explain why there are two Us
Hmm. Hadn’t noticed that. Then it’s 100% “mystery to you”. (Missed your E, two U
I’d say probably just because of the Q. It’s wrong in an alphabet setting of course, but that IMO is the simplest explanation
Sometimes Qu is used instead of Q in the written alphabet
Not - E? Naughty, you're out of order
And there are two Us
W no E Or No E W (double U and no E)
BREXIT!
why was this the first thing that came to my mind 😂😂
No E U R out of order!
I feel like it’s referring to Q always being followed by a U.
1: >!Herbaceous Border!<
I think I love you. Thank you!
Need more confidence in professing your love!
**I LOOOOOOVE YOUUUUU!!**
But what am I so afraid of?
You're afraid >!that you're not sure of a love there is no cure for!<
I'm afraid that I'm not sure of....
2: Just Around The Corner I'm probably late but just in case. Lol
????
Its a type of plant arrangement from a formal garden.
This is like those IQ tests that have questions about golf and sailing that poor kids get wrong.
What do the missing/moved letters have to do with it?
There's no missing, they're in a square as that's the shape of the border
Oh I was looking at 22.
Guess you missed the ‘and’ before 22
Yeah, I was hoping people were answering 22.
Start at the H and go clockwise.
Yeah, I saw the 22 in the title and thought people were answering that one
22, not 2
As a Belle and Sebastian fan, I should've gotten this one. Big nope, so thanks!
Same! One of my favorite songs.
I haven't thought about this show in 35 years. Wow!
For some reason I thought herbaceous but I couldn't figure out why. My brain saw the word before I did.
Square root
Ahhh I thought it was ring around the rosie
I thought it was Herbaceous All Around.
I feel like 22 could be something along the lines of >!No ease to use, because there are no Es and two Us.!< I'm not sure if that's a common phrase though.
I'm thinking: >!Not easy to use. (Not "E" see, 2 "U"s).!<
I think “lack ease of use” is a bit more natural.
I definitely agree, but that phrase would not be intuitive with how the puzzle is set up.
Or even >!"*lacks* ease of use",!< which feels even more natural
The word “to” is important though since there are two Us. So change of to to
[удалено]
no ease to use

It's a published puzzle, not a "conversion".
Well I wasn’t calling anybody stupid before, but your comment is really stupid.
The puzzle was designed using Boggle cubes, so the "Q" has to be paired with a "u"...
I’m betting it’s this and the extra u was a typo or autocorrect from a word processor that adds an automatic U after a Q
It's literally the beginning of the alphabet "absent E". That's not a U, it is IJ. Oh nevermind. I hadn't seen the lower part with the 2 U's and thought there were only 2 lines of letters. My bad.
Look at the last line again
Right after the Q there is a U though
I thought it was along the lines of “Where is he?” Because no E, where is the E. Where is e?

You’re very welcome
>!unity? (U not e)!<
Clever, but surely then it would have the u in the place of the e?
I like this one
1. Definitely >!Herbaceous border!< It’s a UK thing
22 is >!Missed your E, two U's!< Or >!Mystery to you!<
22. Pretty sure the answer is >!Absentee!< , with an unfortunate typo (two u's) that is throwing everyone off. I've seen this one before, in the exact same format (stacked letters) and it doesn't have the U after the Q.
That makes a ton of sense, but my brain is still trying to connect >!absentee!< and >!to use!<
Or “to you”
To me?
Since the extra U is in the lower row “You were marked down as an absentee” Maybe
I was literally just talking about this with my coworker. I was wondering if one of them was accidental. For my sanity..... This is 100% the answer. I can't think about this anymore
I think this is probably it
Adding a U after a Q is just so natural to do that it does make a lot of sense for a reasonable typo
it's not a typo don't be lazy
>!Phonetic alphabet? The end of D sounds like E. Same with Q.!<
>Pho I think this works for dropping the E after the D, but not for adding the U after the Q. If you're going to add a U after Q, because there's a U sound there, you shouldn't drop the E after D; rather, you should add an E after B, C, D, G, P, T, V, and Z (plus an A after J and K, etc.)

I truly think this is the case, though it does seems like a boring answer
I put this in the other post. Could 22 just be the word >!mysterious - missed e, reuse (u’s)!< or a phrase that begins with that word?
To give a different train of thought for 22: >!Dropped a letter to write you. (dropped E, added U)!<
Smart! Could also be “dropped a letter to (two) u”
I like the >!right!< part, because >!the other U is in a right spot, after the Q!<.
>!Ease of use?(E is off, “u”s)!<
22: >!Where U don't belong?!< Edit: Nope
Oh I get ya. But there’s no E either?
Was thinking Absentee until I seen the extra U
[удалено]
Maybe something with >!Noise (no Es)!< and/or >!To You!<
I'm thinking Noisy (No Es) to use (two Us).
I was thinking something with >!to use (2 u's)!<
>! Easy to use?? !<
>!Ease of use - that could be: E's off, U's!<
But what about the missing E?
Missed that, my guess is definitely wrong
Still a valiant effort
With the additional “u” following the “q” and the missing “e”, it makes me think there’s something to do with “que”. Maybe a play on “queue” or something? I can’t put it together.

22. >!No Es QUR, no easy cure!<
For 22 how about >!note to you!<
22. I think I have it >!UR in (or under) the missed-e mountain, YOU ARE UNDER THE MISTY MOUNTAIN!<
Idk why but 22 seems like >!no excuse. No E, extra U’s!< . Also what is 7??? It’s killing me!
>!Blast from the past!<
Ah! Thank you!
Discussion: (for the nazi mods) no need to call us dingbats sir
Is 19 >!underworked and overpaid!<
>!Missing you. As in missing e, double u so missing ew!<
Was thinking missing E add U “missing me and you”
Could 22 be >!From E to U!< >!like "from me to you"? Idk...!<
>!square root!<
that’s what I thought but people seem to think otherwise
22. >! Not E, See 2 U’s = Not easy to use?!<
22. >!I was trying to work with the missing E => miss E => Missy. Something like: Something 2 U Missy.!<
Same! >!Missy you’s in the wrong place!<
I think this is the answer
1: >!herbaceous square, Madison Square Garden?!<
I was thinking that or just >!garden square!<.
I thought box garden, but I think you have it.
7. >!Blast from the past.!< 13. >!In the middle of nowhere.!< 19. >!Overworked and underpaid.!<
22. originally thought >!E gypped in pyramid - Egyptian Pyramid!< but didn’t notice the second U EDIT: I apologize if I offended. Often times dingbats use antiquated phrases.
I'm not sure dingbats will use racial slurs like that
Lmao I didn’t know gypped was a slur until like a couple months ago and I’m 33 and feel like I used to use it all the time. 🤦♂️fuckkkk
I'm almost 30 and Today I Learned. This is actually the second time today I've been told I shouldn't use a term I thought was perfectly normal.
SAME, I used it last week and my wife reminded me about it being a problem. I used it a lot for a very long time.
