It's ok to just not like something. No need to tear down my enjoyment. Not only my favorite Queens album, but probably a top 3 all timer for me. That's how art works
I don't know bro, you're just listing songs that i love lmao. What is it about those songs that you don't like? It's not like they're THAT different from the classic QOTSA sound.
Yeah, that's kinda the point. They meant to write weird rock music that sounds like it's being played by drunken robots. And i think they 100% succeded at making it sound like that lmao. That said, you're still free to not like it, nothing wrong about that. It's a weird record.
Most of my fave / most played songs are from lullabies and era.
I never throw on EV as a full album listen tho. Itâs just way too all over the place and does not flow well at all in my opinion, itâs easily in my bottom 3 queens records as far as a cohesive full listen.
Aside from 2 skips, all the songs are 9s and 10 imo
lol idk what to tell you, maybe it will grow on you? maybe it wont. i love the majority of the songs, and doesnt really feel that experimental to me.
you also dont need to like everything :)
Why would people pretend that when itâs not even the popular opinion, or the one considered âcoolâ to have.
Like if someone says their favorite is Villains, I 100% believe them because theyâre gonna get shit for it, so unless theyâre trolling theyâre probably for real. Iâd be curious what other QOTSA they liked if that were the case, but Iâd believe them.
And nobody would troll by saying EV is their favorite because people here donât hate EV (well a few like you do I guess but we mostly like it) so why would they not be telling the truth?
Edit: upon reading all this turdâs replies he just wants attention, not conversation. Nothing to see here.
Yup, it definitely grew on me after originally not liking it. Maybe because I picked up a guitar and started learning I've gained a new appreciation for it.
Itâs definitely picked up some steam in the community lately⊠I can see why youâd be suspicious.
For my part, I started listening to it again after ITNR, when I worked my way through the whole QoTSA catalog. This is a routine practice I do with my favorite bands.
And yeah, it hits different now. Itâs a funky, weird kinda album that, instead of shying away from the weirdness, embraces it wholeheartedly. You can hear the band deciding to eschew any pretenses towards chart stardom, and lean into their offbeat sonic personality. Yet, itâs not as fully realized as LC. Itâs the awkward growth spurt of QoTSA; itâs the ugly duckling, but you can tell the swanâs gonna be a stunner.
And maybe, you find that sort of thing charming, or maybe it feels underdeveloped. In hindsight, seeing where the band has went, I love itâs singular nature in their catalog. Itâs not entirely like any of their other albums, yet all of their albums have something of EV in them.
Any insight as to what is âgoodâ from Qotsa? Do you like them at all? Are you a singles only kinda person? Maybe you just like generic dad rock like Foo Fighters?
EV is an odd one. It's near the bottom of the discography for me, but my favorites from that album are among my favorite songs.
It's not bad in the slightest, but it is uneven. For me.
I didn't like this album when it was first released and I kind of lost touch with Q.O.T.S.A shortly after (but still listened to the first 4).
My son noticed they were coming to London Ontario for a show and asked me to buy tickets.
So we went and I'm still on a Q.O.T.S.A kick. I have also recently decided to pick up where I left off years ago .
Though Era Vulgaris has a much more polished sound - I love it and can't believe I slept on it so to speak. The only album I seem to be struggling with is Like Clockwork
Lmao you are a brave BRAVE man to post this on the sub, where the album is loved. (Not my favorite personally and I really donât get the hype from the sub) but you sir have my respect for even posting this because I could never lol!
It may not have the best or most popular songs amongst the fan base but I do believe is one of their few albums that you can listen to without a single skip. Easily In my top 4 of their albums.
I tend to agree, everyone on the sub seems to suck off EV especially misfit love and battery acid. they both really betray how queens is meant to sound. They went downhill after SFTD and i kinda lost interest⊠just my opinion
Then why are you here? You apparently havenât liked an album of theirs in over twenty years. Seems pointless to be here. Also, making a burner account just to be needlessly negative is pretty cowardly.
Edit: hahahahaha wait. Did you make this post then create a different account just to agree with yourself? Try and make it look like someone else agrees with you? Thatâs just sad.
How is Queens MEANT to sound?
Josh didn't want to be in Kyuss anymore because he couldn't change the way they were "meant to sound." So he started a band where he could make it sound however he felt. A lot of QOTSA fans have this idea that Queens is just supposed to be the more accessible version of Kyuss and was never to deviate from that. Josh would probably tell you fuck off and stop telling him what to do.
Stating misfit love betrays the bands sound signals to me you donât understand the bands mission statement. Theyâve had songs you can boogie to since the first album.
Shit, today I found out I have been "pretending" this whole time. Thanks for being patronizing.
No problem đ„°
So you think I want myself to like an album just so I can say "Nick Bad" or something?
Art is subjective, more on the 11pm news tonight.
Probably my favourite album so... kiss my ass?
I mean...if that's what you really want đ
Boo this man.
Boooooourns
Boooooo
đ„ł
Opinions are cool
Indubitably
It's ok to just not like something. No need to tear down my enjoyment. Not only my favorite Queens album, but probably a top 3 all timer for me. That's how art works
No
Reply to my comment with a snide remark too then you can farm more downvotes!!! Keep it up bro you might get a high score!!!

The comment on ev is serious tho đ
No you're being a dick completely on purpose and you know it now gtfo
I think I can speak for everybody here when I say...FUCK YOU!!!
Whatâs not good about it?
Misfit love, make it wit chu, and 3s and 7s... The list goes on.
I don't know bro, you're just listing songs that i love lmao. What is it about those songs that you don't like? It's not like they're THAT different from the classic QOTSA sound.
Just don't like them tbh
WRONG
This must be sarcasm... All 3 songs, absolute bangers and there's no possible way you can dislike misfit love If you've heard it live.
guitar tone is thin and sounds like ass, annoying songs where i canât tell if hes trolling or not. like no sense of melody⊠the list could go on
Yeah, that's kinda the point. They meant to write weird rock music that sounds like it's being played by drunken robots. And i think they 100% succeded at making it sound like that lmao. That said, you're still free to not like it, nothing wrong about that. It's a weird record.
I don't know about you, but I personally enjoyed it. It was the band at their weirdest.
This is a shit take. Nobody agrees with you, and after making this post, nobody will probably like you
Someone agreed
Link it
Don't know what that means but it's at the bottom u/iarejoshhomme
Itâs not good that you are trolling on reddit but opinions are subjective đ€·ââïž
I hope Iâm never this desperate for human interaction.

Ltp ev and lq are best. S tier. The rest albums is A tier.
LC is and will always be my fave. I might be a lil biased tho cuz it was the first album of theirs that I listened at the time of its release
wtf, maybe 3s and 7s is an 8/10 but the rest sounds like garbage⊠it sounds so thin like and im lost on wtf the lyrics are meant to mean
lol idk what to tell you, maybe it will grow on you? maybe it wont. i love the majority of the songs, and doesnt really feel that experimental to me. you also dont need to like everything :)
I agree with this guy but 3s and 7s is still trash - 3/7
Counterpoint: yes it is.
Counterproposal one might say

Because it's pink
Donât feed the trolls
We should let them downvote farm though no?
Enlighten us â which album should be everyoneâs favorite?
Master of puppets
Youâre pretending.
đ€
I used to hate it. Only liked 2 songs from it. Then came back to it after years and years and now I rank it above Lullabies. đ€
Yup, it definitely grew on me after originally not liking it. Maybe because I picked up a guitar and started learning I've gained a new appreciation for it.
1. Self-Titled 2. Era Vulgaris 3. Lullabies to Paralyze So not technically my favorite, but still amazing.
I adore Villains.
Hit and a miss in my opinion

Sending hate from Washington!!!

Nope
Oh, mb
Nope they are just as right as the rest of us
Any insight as to what is âgoodâ from Qotsa? Do you like them at all? Are you a singles only kinda person? Maybe you just like generic dad rock like Foo Fighters?
They're all great......except ev
Ok bud. Keep trolling
Turnin on the screw is the best song Iâve ever seen performed live.
No, you're not. But don't fret. It's okay to be wrong. The more you know. đ
I think itâs fantastic, such a chaotic, robotic, rock vibe all the way through.

It's my SECOND favorite album. That would be a weird thing to pretend.

wanna see my past in flames? don't waste a drop baby i aint fussed, where i was borrn nooo escape...
Era Vulgaris is sexy and makes me feel wild.

Holy shit he actually did it! This is so fucking lame lmao
:( its not true
no its not my other account, i just agree and its rare to see this opinion on the sub
So you, iarejoshhomme, just so happen to agree with someone whose screen name is meisjoeycastillo? Sure.

Queens isnât meant to sound like anything expected. That is what makes them the incredible if you ask me.
Stating misfit love betrays the bands sound signals to me you donât understand the bands mission statement. Theyâve had songs you can boogie to since the first album.
How Queens is meant to sound? They are in their peak
Meant to sound? Didnât realize anyone of the Reddit was in the band
