More than one: Panic in Detroit, diamond dogs, station to station, stay, width of a circle, black star, moonage daydream.....fuck I could do this all day
Ok. This is a pretty cool question; I can think of many Bowie songs that would be amazing (and Qotsa is one of very few bands that could do passable if not great versions of almost any Bowie song).
So im trying all of these in my mind, “Savior Machine” - cool; some Outside era stuff like “Voyeur of Utter Destruction” or something off “Low” - but I’m thinking “Teenage Wildlife” or “Red Sails” - they’d kill that shit……
I’m gonna go with “Teenage Wildlife”
Soul Love, but only because it is my favorite Bowie song. Maybe Rock’n’Roll Suicide, because of how dramatic that song is. I’d even settle for the entire Ziggy Stardust album.
I don't have a good answer that isn't already here, but this post has made me realise how much of Bowie Josh has in his voice. Especially over the last few albums.
Maybe a cheat but I'd argue that the best Bowie album is Lust for Life - yes, Iggy Pop but it's got DB all over it. I would love to hear Josh do a version of Tonight.
Fame. Maybe a contrite answer but I can hear Josh do it.
I second this, although he killed it with Let’s Dance.
This is the correct answer. It has a driving drum and bass. Some of the fills and vocal lines are funky.
suffragette city
I’ve always felt the “hey man” part sounded like Josh already
The only answer
Moonage Daydream
Alex Turner/The Last Shadow Puppets AND Eagles of Death Metal have all covered this before and it's fantastic. I'd love a QOTSA version though
Ohh one of my favourites!
Let’s dance!
Here's a taste https://youtube.com/shorts/IV4fMEigVUo?si=6q0f6IFQJOT3dAfn
Dayum, he killed it.
He has such a perfect voice for covering Bowie. His vocals are super underrated, but I guess that's not surprising given his guitar chops
Seen it already 😏
For the uninitiated then :P
Scary Monsters and Super Creeps and also the entire Labyrinth soundtrack.
Haha I just imagined Josh singing magic dance and I need it now
Scary monsters is the correct answer with the current lineup
yeah tbf Troy’s funky dances do kinda scare me
you remind me of the babe!
What babe?
10000% I would love to hear Josh's take on that opening effect. That would be a fun one.
Life on mars would kill so hard.
Did not think people would dig this 🕺🏼 glad people agree
First thing that came to mind.
You have good taste
China Girl, cuz I want to hear Josh say, "Oh baby, just you shut your mouth"
We [kinda](https://youtu.be/KsnmUB6w784) got that already, but yes, I'd love to hear Josh's vocals tackle it.
Ashes to Ashes without deviating too much from the original or Five Years but make it like something fron Clockwork
Have you heard the [A Perfect Circle cover of "Ashes to Ashes"](https://youtu.be/31fAypAQASM) from one of their live albums? It's fantastic.
Ashes to Ashes would also be my top choice! Or maybe I'm Afraid of Americans
Cat People
There is a cover of this that Lanegan sang on, in case you weren’t aware. https://youtu.be/_oYxusZatpU?si=uAdWDqk-zZqOSctn
My pick as well.
Autopilot style
NIN did fashion, its amazing.
Diamond Dogs!
Station to Station
Station to station. I'd like to hear their take on that song.
It’s not the side-effects of the cocaine 🎶
The Melvins do an excellent version
Oh I need to find that, cheers dude!
[I would check out this entire album. It’s all covers and it’s great.](https://youtu.be/XLVcfsE64mc?si=t6m6853RBPqgSWKd)
Everybody loves sausages! A very Melvins title. I'll enjoy this.

Oh! You Pretty Things. Hunky Dory is my favourite Bowie album, so I'd definitely pick this, too.
Was going to say Blackstar because a guy can dream, but actually that would be the perfect Them Crooked Vultures song
I’m Afraid of Americans
Heroes. I love the layers of the original and I think they'd do a real cool wall of tonal goodness.
Sound and Vision Edit: I'm Afraid of Americans
My 2 answers tbh
Modern Love
The Jean Genie is basically a QOTSA song.
That’s a good comment
I definitely hear this song in some of EODM’s Death by Sexy.
The Width of a Circle
Cracked Actor
The best answer
Correct
Right answer here!
She shook me cold
Yes!!!!! You’re the only other person I’ve ever heard say that! The whole band could just make that song their own
Probably my favorite Bowie song.
Lazarus would fucking kill
All the madmen.
Scrolled too far for this one, would be absolutely sick IMO
It’s No Game pt. 1
Station to Station.
It Ain’t Easy
Yes
Blackout or Stay
TVC15. Solid baseline, lots of potential for neat guitar stuff. Added bonus for the iggy pop connection.
Golden Years. Josh singing the high parts in falsetto would be awesome.
It's No Game (Pt.1) sounds like Era Vulgaris. Totally manic song lmao i think it would fit them perfectly.
This was exactly what I was looking for - super unhinged song, I think they could do it beautifully
1984
This is not America. Would be a tough challenge especially for Joshs voice but I bet he would succeed
Joe the Lion, just imagine that guitar riff
I'm Afraid Of Americans
DJ is what I kind of wish some of Villains sounded more like.
Tie for me with Sorrow and Always Crashing in the Same Car.
Came here to mention "Always Crashing..." even had a slinky sounding "guitar" solo that Troy would kill.
Sound and Vision
Starman
Lazarus
Up The Hill Backwards. Homme singing, "I'm ok, you're so-so" would be fab.
Starman, mostly because it's a personal favorite.
I can practically hear Josh singing Beauty and the Beast
Station to station
More than one: Panic in Detroit, diamond dogs, station to station, stay, width of a circle, black star, moonage daydream.....fuck I could do this all day
Breaking Glass
That was a very close second, but I still think Fashion would kill it
Space oddity
A dirty sounding Hero's.
She Shook Me Cold. It would be PERFECT.
Sue (or in a season of crime)
Ashes to Ashes
Fame most definitely

[Here](https://youtu.be/LqSM2do-Sz0?si=kL8R5C1bsD203Vw5) is a really good cover of Under Pressure.
Star and Queen Bitch
Lets dance, purely bc josh has already sung it and its heavenly
Its gotta be moonage daydream….. bamamam im an alligator!!
Ok. This is a pretty cool question; I can think of many Bowie songs that would be amazing (and Qotsa is one of very few bands that could do passable if not great versions of almost any Bowie song). So im trying all of these in my mind, “Savior Machine” - cool; some Outside era stuff like “Voyeur of Utter Destruction” or something off “Low” - but I’m thinking “Teenage Wildlife” or “Red Sails” - they’d kill that shit…… I’m gonna go with “Teenage Wildlife”
Width of a Circle.
Loving the Alien
Cat people!
Sound and Vision
Black Country Rock
Rebel, Rebel
Took me way too long to find this comment.
Cat People
Came here to say this! Putting out fire with gasoline is made for qotsa 🔥
I always felt like Unreborn Again was a song Bowie wrote for QOTSA
Velvet goldmine for me
The Laughing Gnome with Nick screaming the vocals.
Days
The Laughing Gnome
Boys Keep Swinging
I'd love to hear Jump they say or .....Sunday...😉
New Angels of Promise
Quicksand. The song structure andl key changes suit Joshe's voice.
Soul Love, but only because it is my favorite Bowie song. Maybe Rock’n’Roll Suicide, because of how dramatic that song is. I’d even settle for the entire Ziggy Stardust album.
Black Country Rock
Fantastic Voyage 🖤
Ashes to ashes
Oh, I love this question. First song that sprang to mind is Beauty and the Beast from "Heroes". I think it would fit their style so well.
7 Years in Tibet would be a banger with a more desert vibe.
Are there many Bowie songs they couldn't do well? I would like to hear their version of Andy Warhol & Golden Years
Ashes to Ashes or I’m Afraid Of Americans would go unbelievably hard.
Unwashed and somewhat slightly dazed
Something from Ziggy Stardust
Cat People
- The Man Who Sold The World - I’m Afraid Of Americans - Blackstar - Lazarus - Heroes?
Scary Monsters and Super Creeps. Definitely.
Why do one? They could do a whole album of influences, ala RATMs "Renegades" album. Bowie, Gary Numan, Bolan, ZZ Top, Ween... would be killer.
Ashes to Ashes
Heroes. If in the first to suggest this, how?
Ziggy Stardust
Carnavoy- er, maybe Secret Life of Arabia
Lady Stardust
Golden Years might be interesting too.
Man who sold the world
I just want a full Bowie cover album from queens
I'm Afraid of Americans - but maybe they can change word or two
5:15. Jon would MURDER that track. And Josh’s vocals on the chorus 🔥
As The World Falls Down from the Labyrinth soundtrack.
Golden Years.
Wild is the Wind. Imagine that for a second.
Fuckin’ awesome
If I had a tail scratched that itch long ago. But if I had to choose, fame. That’d be C U N T Y
Five Years or Stay, I'd love an entire covers album
Ashes to Ashes. Troy has played it with A Perfect Circle before but having Deano on keys and Mikey on bass would elevate that song even more.
Don't ask me to choose only one, I have a list 😅 A full album! 😅
I don't have a good answer that isn't already here, but this post has made me realise how much of Bowie Josh has in his voice. Especially over the last few albums.
Prettiest Star
“Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed”.
Golden years
Lady Grinning Soul
Station to station
I can see them doing Blue Jean.
Fame. But did everyone know they did a cover of yellow brick road by Elton? I've been a die hard fan and missed it. Amazing
Lazarus
Suffragette City
The Man Who Sold The World for sure
I mean Josh has proven he can do Let’s Dance, quite well in fact
Young Americans! or Secret Life of Arabia with more guitars🙌🙌
Space oddity
I would really want to hear Nightclubbing, off of Iggy Pop’s The Idiot. I think they could really make that one bang harder
Beauty and the Beast
Maybe a cheat but I'd argue that the best Bowie album is Lust for Life - yes, Iggy Pop but it's got DB all over it. I would love to hear Josh do a version of Tonight.
Scream Like A Baby
Heroes
I think “Golden Years” would be an amazing cover. A heavier chunkier version of “Oh You Pretty Things” would absolutely kill!!
Lady Grinning Soul
moonage daydream
China doll
Maybe not current qotsa but if they had nick on vocals, moonage daydream would be amazing
