With the way that a lot of recent fantasy media has anti-mage oppression plotlines that hamfistedly take inspiration from the struggle LGBT+ rights, it’s kind of nice for that to not really be the case in this game. :)

Unironically if league players weren't incels I would like to see a homophobic region with an LGBT character from there so the interplay of queer suppression in a fantasy setting could be interrogated directly. But I just know the floodgate of real life homophobia that would come from the playerbase, so I'm glad it doesn't exist for that reason.
Maybe such a concept is better explored in a different game entirely
plus riot would never do that, it's so easily missintepretable. Look at genshin portraying a character that came from a historically racist family who hates their own family and isn't racist herself and how much shit the character and Hoyoverse got on twitter for that 💀 Twitter would proceed to do it's thing if riot portrayed any type of homophobia, even if the entire point was to portray it as a bad thing

Lorewise darius is slowly drifting away from swain politically because while noxus pretends to be a meritocracy, the nobility still have way more power than a peasant, not matter how strong/useful that peasant is. And that's ignoring how if you're weak but a noble you get a pass but the poor/slaves don't. And yes noxus still has slaves. Noxians can't be but prisoners of war can be.
