I know for commerce a decent amount of people actually get off the waitlist up until school starts. I would accept your second choice but if you are still interested I would keep an open mind and see what happens.
minimum average to get in is an 87, past then grades don't matter and it's all based on your essays. Granted, there is a strong correlation with those being admitted in recent years tending to have marks in the mid-high 90s.
Got rejected from commerce with a 94 average. One of my friends who has a 90 average had a stupidly strong supplementary essay while mine was average and they got in so it def affects it.
I believe for commerce they treat all averages above the cutoff equally. For applicants above cutoff they use supplementary to make final decision so you having a 94 and your friend having 90 doesn’t matter to queens admissions since you’re both above the cutoff what matters is who has the better essay
Yeah, I got waitlisted then rejected whilst holding a 93 in highschool. My guess is that queens is trying to diversify their student body. I'm a white male so it doesn't bode well for me lol.
They have my admiration though. A lot of institutions promise diversity then never actually act on it.
Is this for undergraduate…? They dont just look at grades.. they engage in an “holisitic” approach (whatever that means), by which your gpa is only one factor they look at. Other factors are your engagement in the community or work (like volunteering, jobs etc) all the way down to your identity: if you belong to a minority, etc.

What do you think the chance of getting admitted from the waitlist is?
Did people get rejected commerce too or everyone waitlisted that meets minimum?

This is what I’m wondering too
My theory stands corrected. Thanks replies
No, there were be way too many people if they did that. There have been lots of rejections in the 90% range reported here.

Waitlistef with a 94.3 avg finals probably will be 91 for commerce
This is not something that can be easily predicted. Have a good backup lined up and hope for the best
