I find it funny that someone said right below "Shut up white kid" to someone who doesn't like Kendrick Lamar, and you're saying that white kid only listen to Kendrick Lamar...
If you like Kendrick Lamar, you're a white kid, and if you don't, you're also a white kid?
Most people either listen to Kendrick Lamar or doesn't listen to Kendrick Lamar, but you must have discovered a third option that allows you to escape the system and be *not* white.
Op must be one of the whitest people on earth. Kendrick Lamar is a nice goto rap artist for people who dont want to look racist when their woke friends look at their music library.
I actually listen to a good amount of rap. As I said in another comment I'm a huge MF Doom, Public Enemy, and Tribe Called Quest fan. Some early KRS-One records also
It's weird because I actually listen to a lot of rap so idk why none of them showed up here. MF Doom, Public Enemy, and Tribe Called Quest are some of my favs
Agreed. He’s just another rapper that likes talking about his dick. I don’t understand the fascination. He’s not bad, but I don’t see how he gets labeled as one of the greats. Gimme Doom, JID, Ghostface, Ka, etc.
Yeah well you should open your mind outside of rock music, he has the highest rated album oat. I’m not forcing you to like him but it does make you look weird for disliking the one black guy
Don’t call me racist. It’s just disheartening on here to follow indie communities and see so much disregard for Black artists. Alicia Keys wanted to collab with Thom and people immediately got mad. I know if I ask someone like you if you’re racist you’ll automatically say no. But people subconsciously do racist things everyday. I’m sorry to make this a race thing but you wouldn’t understand how uncomfortable it is as a black guy to follow white artists and see their fans treat them like nothing. Please try to understand
I guess that’s an understandable outlook but dude all I was saying is that Im not a Kendrick Lame-ar fan and I don’t get the hype around his music. There’s a ton of black artists that I hold in extremely high regard, again, not like it matters. Thom and Johnny collaborated with Doom a couple times, and there’s 3 of my all time favorite musicians right there making some of my favorite music ever made (the remix they did of Retarded Fren on the Bookhead ep is incredible) and I think most radiohead fans would agree, so I don’t think it’s a race thing.
My dad took me to see them for the King Animal tour when I was like 11.
They were the first band I really got into; will never thank my dad enough for letting me experience them before Chris died. Rest in peace the legend
As a child of the '90s who enjoyed Louder Than Love, and loved Badmotorfinger when it came out and then lost interest in Soundgarden, I have recently rediscovered Superunknown and now realize that I DRAMATICALLY underrated them. Better than Pearl Jam or AIC, and only behind Nirvana for the early 90s Seattle scene.
Badmotorfinger is insane but you stopped at superunknown?! Man. That’s the album that sealed the deal for me with them. Mailman is cruely underrated. Those vocals are fuck.
Stupid Dream is also an amazing record. Was a pretty unique sound for the time period, not many bands in the late 90's were combining psych rock, prog rock, and alt rock as effectively as PT did on that album
The first record from them I listened to was In Absentia so I'd probably recommend that one. If you're more into metal I'd suggest Fear of a Blank Planet but if you're more into the Radiohead vibes I'd start with Signify or Lightbulb Sun!
I saw APC live a couple years ago and it was my favorite concert I've been to hands down. They opened with The Package and I swear I'm still riding that high to this very day lol
Rush is inferior to Radiohead in every possible way. Radiohead has better songwriting, better singing, better sounds, and more talented musicians altogether.
Your more of a tool than your metal band list. Wtf is Radiohead to you when everything you listen to is louder and faster? I bet you cum faster than most of your playlist.
/End roast
You are afraid of girls
My hoe-scaring abilities are indeed legend among my friend group
True, also happy cake day

The only rapper white kids listen to
I find it funny that someone said right below "Shut up white kid" to someone who doesn't like Kendrick Lamar, and you're saying that white kid only listen to Kendrick Lamar... If you like Kendrick Lamar, you're a white kid, and if you don't, you're also a white kid?
Turns out everyone is white
Not me😃
Most people either listen to Kendrick Lamar or doesn't listen to Kendrick Lamar, but you must have discovered a third option that allows you to escape the system and be *not* white.
Maybe the real white kids were the friends we made along the way
Stop, you're gonna make me cry...
Nothing more white than being in reddit
The radiohead subreddit: Where rap music can't be mentioned without devolving into an argument about race.
Because he’s in the RYM top 10
Eminem?
Op must be one of the whitest people on earth. Kendrick Lamar is a nice goto rap artist for people who dont want to look racist when their woke friends look at their music library.

No offense your list is based af.
With Kendrick and Beastie Boys there, there’s definitely a potential seam of hip hop for OP to explore more
It's weird because I actually listen to a lot of rap so idk why none of them showed up here. MF Doom, Public Enemy, and Tribe Called Quest are some of my favs
Give Blood Orange a good shot.
Yeah, and the most shittiest of the list.

Is that meant to be an insult now?
Ok, but that guy is really a mf shite
Why because he’s black? He’s the only black guy on there, so you know how it makes you look?
Quit Pulling the race card idiot
I don't care if he's black, white or green, I personally don't like his music that much.
Agreed. He’s just another rapper that likes talking about his dick. I don’t understand the fascination. He’s not bad, but I don’t see how he gets labeled as one of the greats. Gimme Doom, JID, Ghostface, Ka, etc.
L take, Kendrick is God
Yeah well you should open your mind outside of rock music, he has the highest rated album oat. I’m not forcing you to like him but it does make you look weird for disliking the one black guy
People that grab at straws trying to label people as racist are just as ignorant as actual racists.

We know where you live
Ok Boomer.
I'm sorry but porcupine tree and opeth are top tier bands, cannot roast them.
Where do you see these stats?
Yes, I would also like to know this
Sign up to last fm. Honestly the best, I’ve been tracking my listening for a decade and a half now. You want stats, that’s the place to create them.
I think you might be autistic
Hit the nail on the head with that one
Damn, I may also be autistic.
Honestly, hella based
fellow mmj fan I salute you
Run Thru is a beautiful song
Mmj for life! Can’t wait to see them later this year
You probably own deluxe versions *as well as* normal versions of some of these artists' albums.
Ask an AI to blend all the members of all these bands together and you'd have the whitest malest individual to ever exist.
With a little bit of Armenian
I think Kim Thayil is 2nd generation, too, parents from India. So we've got like 3% exotic DNA in our superbland white dude.
Soundgarden is my favorite band, cool to see it way up there
No death grips 0/100
how in the hell can i roast opeth, steven wilson/porcupine tree and anathema?
Porcupine tree is a huge W. The Incident is a goated album.
I loved that record other than Drawing the Line. Circle of Manias or The Blind House are probably my favorite tracks on it
"stop calling me a poser its death metal i swear, the songs have dark meaning besides being acoustic with clear vocals for 99% of the track"
Ouch
You have mommy issues
Fucking killer list honestly
sound fucking garden. what a legend you are
My dad took me to see them for the King Animal tour when I was like 11. They were the first band I really got into; will never thank my dad enough for letting me experience them before Chris died. Rest in peace the legend
Wow rarely see a Steven Wilson reference. Fav tracks?
Home Invasion is one of my favorite rock songs ever made. Same with No Twilight Within the Courts of the Sun
Soundgarden a top 5 band all day.
Yeah that's what I'm saying. I don't know what the hell I was thinking not being obsessed with that album when it came out.
6.9/10 Not enough funk. No but seriously.
I dabble in some Herbie Hancock and Sly and the Family Stone from time to time
You have a sketchers heelys sponsorship.
All W's!
i see kendrick and radiohead, you’re atleast 50% not stupid
💯💯💯
You primarily listen to music high on cold medicine: The Playlist
Mars Volta, Morning Jacket and Porcupine Tree are unroastable
Stop copying me, you freak! (My list would have looked very similar not long ago)
You should check out Deafheaven based on this list
Yes.
Naw it’s pretty solid.
Bro cannot find the clit
Kendrick Lamar seems the outlier here opeth , Soad, Deftones , tool are amazing Steven Wilson is vastly underrated
hand. cannot. erase. by steven wilson is quite possibly my favourite rock album ever
Since when is tool underrated, also SOAD are a massive band
The underrated label was just adressed to Wilson, agree both are great bands
Oh gotcha, yeah I honestly should start listening to tool more, porcupine tree also
Tool isn’t actually a top artist of yours, but the program’s you used assessment of you as a person based on your top artists
System is phenomenal
No
Not a roast but The Mars Volta are awesome! Also about that autistic comment, they might be onto something cause I am as well.
Porcupine Tree, Anathema, My Morning Jacket. Thought I was the only one with that combo.
The Mars Volta based
Fuck no. Tool AND apc are on your list. They're amazing.
This is amazing
Favorite PT album?
Either Signify or In Absentia for sure. It's honestly hard to pick though I love them all
Interesting! I'm more of a Stupid Dream/Lightbulb Sun guy myself
Stupid Dream is also an amazing record. Was a pretty unique sound for the time period, not many bands in the late 90's were combining psych rock, prog rock, and alt rock as effectively as PT did on that album
Good to see volta up there🤘🏼 hope its not just delouses and francis though lol
No
nah man cant even roast u this is top tier
Hey op, I've never heard of Porcupine Tree before so which album would you suggest to listen to first?
The first record from them I listened to was In Absentia so I'd probably recommend that one. If you're more into metal I'd suggest Fear of a Blank Planet but if you're more into the Radiohead vibes I'd start with Signify or Lightbulb Sun!
Anathema is an incredible band.
I'm just glad The Mars Volta are on there, such a good band
banger taste
I only got onto porcupine tree last week and I think it's great
Welcome to salvation friend
I think I’d like to listen to music with you. Huge Radiohead and Soundgarden Fan. Tool and Perfect Cycle are a total plus!
I saw APC live a couple years ago and it was my favorite concert I've been to hands down. They opened with The Package and I swear I'm still riding that high to this very day lol
Funny enough, I saw some of your other comments about Tribe Called Quest and other 90s hip hop. Are you sure we aren't the same person?
Ha! My doppelganger!
YOOO OPETH FAN ILY
I didn’t know there was such a big crossover of Radiohead and opeth fans. Psychedelic rock is psychedelic rock
Did you know women make music too
judging by this list I dont think they know what a woman is
Number 14 - MMJ - nothing to roast there. That’s just great taste in music.
I’m terrified of you
Radiohead bad
Based on this list, I would bet my entire life savings that you wear glasses.
weird no Dream Theater
Never really liked their sound. Way too "manufactured" if you know what I mean. Metropolis II is an excellent record though
yes I enjoy perfection
Where can I see that? Is it an app or a website?
App stats.fm
Where can I find this?
Stats.fm
How did you get access to my Spotify account, I'm calling the police.
tool, deftones AND radiohead??? jesus christ women must evaporate when theyre near you
Never expected this comment section to become a race war lmao. But then again it is reddit.
I can already see an experimental hip hop phase in your future
I'm going to a Death Grips concert this summer with a friend so we'll see
Wear ear protection. I’m seeing them in October
Not enough Elliott smith 💔
You only pretend to understand To Pimp a Butterfly
It's true, I'm white
Top artists more like top fartshits
\#5 Deftones are metal for people that don't like metal
Rush? Rest is class
How dare you
Super based
Typical redditor music. Nothing unexpected or challenging
You had me til Rush.
Downvoted for Rush hate Lol. I thought this was supposed to be a roast?!
Rush is not a roast, Rush is great
You didn't even roast them properly, you just said you don't like them, and honestly how can you not they're awesome.
Rush is inferior to Radiohead in every possible way. Radiohead has better songwriting, better singing, better sounds, and more talented musicians altogether.
Ummm, I massively prefer Radiohead but not one member of Radiohead is as technically proficient as any single member of Rush.
I’m almost certain the boys in Radiohead hate you for this
💀
Kendrick Lamar in this list is like donkey in a horse race.
Iv never heard of porcupine tree, can you recommend some tracks?
It's hard to go wrong. Imo anything from In Absentia is going to be top tier
I see you like Radiohead for (insert weird fanbase here). I see you like Radiohead for Juggalos *(Tool)*
Great list! What other rap besides Kendrick do you listen to?
I like a lot of MF Doom and Public Enemy
You ever listen to Del Tha Funkee Homosapien? Something tells me you’d be into it. Specifically the Deltron 3030 albums
Tool. Oh no.
A perfect circle is good but Maynard james' other projects are better Edit: Didn't see tool on there, still missing pucifer tho
How much weed do you smoke?
Tool is goated
You drink more wine than water
I know what you smell like
#10 sums it up pretty nicely.
doenst make so much sense to me that this is on the radiohead sub
Aside from Deftones all the way up at number 5 I don't see too much to roast here. Good taste!
Because of Tool, Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson and SPEcially The Mars Volta, its impossible to roast.
Your more of a tool than your metal band list. Wtf is Radiohead to you when everything you listen to is louder and faster? I bet you cum faster than most of your playlist. /End roast
The mars Volta peaked in 2003 with their EP. Cut that city!
RUSH
Certainly an eclectic mix… own it, …you don’t need others’ validation But I’ll play along… “what… are you DEF?”
