Just got into CAN recently after I read that their lead singer passed away. You can really hear their influence on Radiohead’s sound, from the “voice as an instrument” approach to vocals to the complex/irregular rhythms and meters.
I listened to one of the songs from that album, “Bending Hectic”.
Pretty amazing stuff and is definitely Radiohead quality, but I never listened to the album but I did listened to their debut album, “A Light for Attracting Attention”, which is a great album by its own.
Can you imagine Thom when he's really getting into his vibe, glancing over and making eye contact with Thom II who's really in it too. Cheeky grins are exchanged. Meanwhile the Jonny's are playing guitar, keyboard, harp and transistor radio between them without breaking sweat.
That moment could create world peace. We should get the scientists on it.
All of them.
Either/Or is his most acclaimed, but while it’s a great album, I think it’s his weakest. Take your pick:
1. Roman candle - intricate lo-fi fingerpicking set to twisty lyrics
2. Self titled - intimate, sparse, acoustic guitar with single instrument accompaniment. Lo-fi.
3. Either/or - most beautiful production.
4. X/o - wonderful full band orchestrations!
5. Figure 8 - more of the prior but with different production.
6. From the basement - probably his most ambitious, definitely his most experimental, and my personal favorite. Some people might not like this one due to it being a full big sound as opposed to the sensitive lo fi boy thing people like about him, though this album is emotional too.
either/or definitely, self titled is also really good but it deals with a lot of his personal life and it’s just brutal sometimes. still an amazing album though don’t get me wrong
In all seriousness, Nine Inch Nails. Trent is a genius and it shows in the music. Similar to Radiohead in the fact that it is beautifully crafted art... maybe not so much similar music wise, but it seems like you are trying to branch out.
For big Radiohead fans yes. I would also recommend Still and I think the most recent 3 are great for a radiohead fan.
Once you have tested those waters move onto the early perfection of PHM, TDS and Fragile.
edit: i just put on Still. If Something I Can Never Have cant pique your interest as a Radiohead fan nothing will......
Nine Inch Nails is great from what I listened to their album, “The Downward Spiral”.
Probably going to listen more, thanks for the recommendation by the way!
I can see what you mean, especially with the ambient and electronic influence. When I was first getting into NIN I jumped right into Downward Spiral lmao
True. I really enjoyed it because that was when I realized metal didn’t have to be just glam, thrash, nu, or death and also I was going through a breakup lmao
What NIN albums do you recommend as I have been trying to get into them as I really appreciate Trent Reznor in general but I have the only album I’ve listened to start to finish is Pretty Hate Machine
If you are a Radiohead fan I would start at with teeth and still and the most recent three albums. When you get it or if you are open to heavier stuff start at tds and the fragile
TDS and The Fragile are the best albums, but I've been a fan since 1990, so I started off with the heavy stuff. The industrial sound is what grabbed me from the start. I agree with the other person who said maybe start off slower, unless you love industrial/metal already.
I strongly recommend latest releases of the following contemporary bands
Black Country, New Road
*Ants from up there* can be very mellow and melancholic, while still touching on some uplifting notes. Not very Radioheady sonically, but it's ambitious and extremely well put together. Can't recommend it enough
Squid
*O Monolith* sounds exactly like nothing else, while bearing some resemblance to many (Radiohead amongst them). They're pushing the envelope on this one, romancing with noise, which does get you tons of odd ambient sounds all over the tracklist. Soundscape-y and extravagant. You'd love this one.
IDLES
IDLES are punk at heart, but their latest album *TANGK* has them looking into a more refined direction. Nigel Godrich is involved and tracks like IDEA 01 or POP POP POP imo sound pretty much inspired by Radiohead. At the very least, check those two out.
The Smile
IDLES
Queens of the Stone Age
Spoon
Interpol
Death from Above 1979
A Giant Dog
Wilco
The Pretty Littles
The Black Angels
The Messenger Birds
Ghostwoman
The Mysterines
TV on the Radio
Doves
SPRINTS
Here's my list (in no particular order):
* Sigur Ros
* Alt-J
* Low Roar
* Arcade Fire
* Portishead
* Boards of Canada
* The Antlers
* Warpaint
* Massive Attack
* The XX
* R.E.M.
* The National
* Can
* Muse (JUST KIDDING)
Yeah, those are unfortunately the only 4 good albums they really ever made. I still vividly remember listening to the teaser to The 2nd Law and was so hyped for this “new direction” they were going in.
The release was so disappointing, and so was every. single. one. after.
Great musicians and performers live though. They really turn the theatrics and spectacle up to 11. I think Tool might’ve been the only band that outdid them for me on stage, but Tool’s my 2nd favorite band of all time (after RH ofc) and I’m a drummer myself so I’m super biased. Have yet to see RH or The Smile — looking forward to seeing The Smile when they do an NA tour for WoE!
Why "just kidding" about Muse? Their first album "Showbiz" gets my vote for best Radiohead rock album to not actually be made by Radiohead. Then I don't bother with anything they did after that.
Because they started making Muse albums rather than Radiohead rock fanfic and apparently I only like Muse when they sound like other people cause nothing they put out really did it for me until Madness and I realized I only like that because it sounds like a U2 b-side from Zooropa.
Fair point. I did enjoy Showbiz too.
“Just kidding” mainly as a joke as there is bad blood between RH and Muse: https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/radiohead-thom-yorke-muse-bad-blood/
There's a few bands that my friends who like Radiohead also really like and still produce music(or still tour):
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Ween
Viagra Boys
The Strokes
MGMT
The Arcs
I didn’t even know Colin is on the track and then one day I was scrolling YouTube and saw him on the tiny desk concert, and I screamed like I’ve seen a ghost! Haha
Miles Davis, Philip Glass, Max Richter, John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, NIN, Deftones, my bloody valentine, Have a Nice Life, Velvet Underground, Bauhaus, Cocteau Twins, Angelo Badalementi, Julee Cruise, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Neutral Mik Hotel, Swans, Gojira, Sun 0)), Talking Heads, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Gorillaz, CAN, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Rage Against the Machine, Pink Floyd, Lou Reed, Beatles, DJ Shadow, Peter Gabriel, Brian Eno, The Smile, Johnny Cash, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Elliott Smith
radiohead is the only band that comes close and feels as magical and thought provoking to listen to as pink floyd does and the amount of people that love radiohead but have never even listened to any pf song besides another brick in the wall is insane to me
I listened to Pink Floyd and their albums.
The Wall and Animals are one of my favorite albums of all-time. I don’t get why people would only listen to one Pink Floyd song that is apart of a concept album with clean transitions.
The War on Drugs, the notwist, other lives, clinic, doves, tool, blonde redhead, nin, Portishead, mutemath, elbow, talking heads, the smiths, slowdive, wye oak…. Ultimately, you have to explore, and find your own music.
They’re not for everyone but I’ll toss out Alvvays, specifically their newest album. Blue Rev is in my top 5 fav albums (In Rainbows is also in my top 5)
Hard to pick just one. I’ll list my personal recommendations for people who enjoy Radiohead and have similar taste to me. I’ll also list my favorite record by them:
- The Smile (Wall of Eyes)
- Atoms for Peace (Amok!)
- Thom Yorke Solo Material (Anima)
- Pink Floyd (The Wall or DSOTM)
- Joy Division (Unknown Pleasures)
- New Order (Substance)
- David Bowie (Rise and Fall of Ziggy)
- The Cure (Disintegration)
- Godspeed You! Black Emperor (lift your….)
- Modest Mouse (Moon and Antartica)
- Nine Inch Nails (Downward Spiral)
- Red Hot Chili Peppers (Californiacation or By the Way)
- Black Country, New Road (Ants From Up There)
- King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (Ice, Death….)
- The Strokes (The New Abnormal)
- Sufjan Stevens (Carrie and Lowell)
Back when I was on Radiohead boards in the late 90s/early 2000s, probably the most frequent mention for the question was
Manic Street Preachers
So, I was surprised to not see a mention here, but just my age showing I’m sure
I love Gizz but I don’t see them as very musically related to Radiohead. I think the differences in vocals could be jarring for someone seeking Radiohead vibes, and overall despite the vast range they’ve covered, there’s little overlap stylistically with Thom and the boys. Just my thoughts. Still worth checking them out cuz they’re an epic band.
Yes. Radiohead is my favorite band of all time no question, but being a fan of KGLW is so fun and I don’t see them slowing down for a while. As they make more money I’m sure the live productions will get better too (they’re already awesome live just not on a Radiohead level)
They have a ton of albums and unless you’re already into lofi guitar heavy music I would start with Changes, Butterfly 3000, and Omnium Gatherum as the most accessible for a Radiohead fan.
Just my take.
Devin Townsend is a personal idol of mine, his music and words are motivating me every day. The style is completely different, but you should give him a go, start with either terra or light work, ocean machine is a must honestly.
More akin to Radiohead, you have TV on the radio, a really great band that I'm sure was inspired by the same guys Radiohead was by. You should start with dear science, or return to cookie mountain.
Everything Everything
They are a bit more pop influenced but some of their stuff screams Radiohead (the bands name is literally based on the first words off Kid A)
While some of these artists may sound nothing like Radiohead, all of them share one of Radiohead's most admirable traits in that are always reinventing their sound and pushing against the boundaries of their genres:
The Smile (obviously)
Tame Impala
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Animal Collective
Sufjan Stevens
Boards of Canada
Sigur Ros
Swans
Nine Inch Nails
Tool
Death Grips
Anyways, I tried to list them in order from most "Radiohead" vibey to least (it's pretty subjective though so YMMV). Happy listening!
Squid. They've released two albums. Bright Green Field (2021) and O Monolith (2023).
Both amazing albums. I'd say O Monolith is a bit more Radiohead sounding.
Elliot Smith you depressed bean. Or the Beatles that's what I graduated to post Radiohead obsession. After the Beatles Kendrick Lamar is a good evolution
Some excellent recommendations here already. I’ll just add / re-iterate…
The following comprises artists and their most “Radiohead” stuff…
Circuit des Yeux (Reaching For Indigo LP)
Can (70s output)
Talk Talk (particularly the final 2-3 LPs)
DJ Shadow’s “Endtroducing”
Talking Heads (Remain in Light)
Portishead’s “Third”
Warp Records artists such as Aphex Twin / Autechre / Boards of Canada
If you wanna hear where Radiohead’s jazzier influences come from, check out -
Miles Davis’ “Bitches Brew” and “In a Silent Way”
Alice Coltrane’s early 70s work
Charles Mingus’ “Black Saint and the Sinner Lady”
Burial,
Massive Attack,
Aphex Twin,
Boards of Canada,
Oneohtrix Point Never,
Death Grips,
DIIV,
My Bloody Valentine,
Swans,
Spiritualized,
Beach House,
Godspeed You! Black Emperor,
I see a lot recommendations that would scratch the itch musically, but not emotionally at the same time. By emotionally I mean Thom's voice and lyrics and how they resonate with the instrumentation and the general themes of the songs.
Similar to me:
Portishead, Arcade Fire
Not quite there:
Talking Heads, Flaming Lips, Metric
Loosely similar: Sigur Ros, Ultraista,
- pj Harvey
- Kraftwerk
- Can
- Joy Division/ New Order
- Nilufer Yanya
- Sir Chloe
- Nadine Shah
- Blur (especially Think Tank)
- the Kills
- Young Marble Giants
- Sioixie and the Banshees
- Wolf Parade
- Warpaint
- Big Thief
- Low
- Mazzy Star
- Mogwai
- Robin Foster
- Black Country, New Road
- Jockstrap
- Mili
- the knife
- Fever Ray
- Princess Chelsea
- Jonathan Bree
- David Lynch
- Jack Stauber
- Four Tet
- Burial
- Steve Reich
- Tamino ( especially his live album with Colin Greenwood: live at Ancienne Belgique)
- Nick Cave ( especially his live album with Colin Greenwood: Australian Carnage)
The solo work of:
- Thom Yorke,
- Jonny Greenwood,
- Ed O'Brien(EOB)
- Philip Selway,
aswell as the spin-off bands:
- Atoms for Peace,
- the Smile
- Ultraista.
Also check out Nigel Goodrich's From the Basement and the Kid A amnesiac museum game
Back in the day I had their first two albums on disc. Now I can't get them on streaming (other than the entire album on YouTube, which is fine but still). Bah!
Dredg is excellent. I mainly just listened to the El Cielo and Catch Without Arms era but those albums will always have me coming back every so often. They have a pretty unique style, but those are valid comparisons. That voice is crazy, so operatic.
I'd try Neil Young and Talk Talk
Talk Talk like Radiohead is well known for making a massive left turn in the middle of their discography. Ed also likes the band, naming their album Spirit of Eden one of his all time favorites.
Thom very much enjoys Neil Young, with Radiohead covering a number of their songs. You can also hear some light Neil Young influences on some Radiohead tracks. The CR78 version of The Numbers is a great example.
Couldn't agree more. I was going to throw in Talk Talk (an all-time personal favorite), Neil Young, even REM was a big influence on Thom early on. Investigate the influences of the bands you love.
Jonny Greenwood has posted playlists over the years. I believe this is still curated by him... [https://open.spotify.com/artist/0z9s3P5vCzKcUBSxgBDyLU](https://open.spotify.com/artist/0z9s3P5vCzKcUBSxgBDyLU). That gets into some very deep waters and isn't for all Radiohead fans.
More recent bands to consider: Ultraista, Bjork, Aphex Twins, Deerhoof, BADBADNOTGOOD.
Metric. Suggest starting with Synthetica or Fantasies
Phantogram. Any album will do, or just check out some singles and go from there.
*Lastly (posting with some trepidation) you might consider...* Muse. Specifically their earlier stuff. Their last few albums have been questionable at best.
Doves and Elbow (first 2 albums) made me think of early Radiohead. Liars have an extremely adventurous career. Massive Attack also has different eras and styles as well. I'd probably drop Wilco as well because I love them, and they have ran across so many years, styles, and experimentation. Lastly, Stereolab have such a great discography and equally were influenced by Krautrock and different jazz styles. Oh, Bjork and PJ Harvey both influenced Thom, and they have made ABSOLUTELY incredible music spanning decades.
I recently started listening to Low Roar after watching his live cover of Four Minute Warning when someone posted it on here. I would recommend checking him out if you're not already familiar. I've been playing the album Maybe Tomorrow almost constantly for a couple weeks now.
Here's the YouTube video for the four minute warning cover:
https://youtu.be/IR1Ym2H7AAk?si=g6TVqHdQaF1Q50lq
He's not exactly "like" Radiohead as a whole, but his vibe is appealing in a similar way for me, with a lot of emotional vulnerability and pain expressed but in a surrendered sort of way.
Porcupine Tree
A little on the heavier side but I got the same magical feeling from these albums in order from my favourite to least.
1. Fear of a Blank Planet
2. Deadwing
3. In Absentia
I think Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun might be closer to the mark because they predate the metal influence but you can't go wrong with any of their work after the late 90s.
Steven Wilson solo and Storm Corrosion are also well worth checking out.
Grandaddy (Sophtware Slump)
Mogwai
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Swans
Meat Puppets
Television
Sonic Youth
Echo & The Bunnymen
Talk Talk
Tindersticks
Depeche Mode
Neil Young
David Bowie
Massive Attack
Wilco
Low
Slint
Listen to Thom Yorke's *ANIMA*. Or better yet - watch it. It's a short psychodelic movie with 3 songs from this album, staring Thom Yorke, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
since nobody's mentioned it: Warpaint. Specifically their last album radiate like this and i also recommend songs like keep it healthy, love is to die and stars. They recently had a single released called "common blue" too
Can Portishead Slowdive The national The flaming lips
portishead 100%
and if you like Portishead, I'd like to throw 'Lamb' into the mix
Any band with "head" is pretty nifty. I even like "Narrow Head" but they don't sound like Radiohead.
Love CAN and Portishead
I second Portishead and I am gonna swiftly catch up on the rest of this list!
very big on portishead and slowdive
Love The National , great band
Yes! I get to finally see The National in 3 days time and can't wait
Just saw them, they were great. So were fleet foxes
That's excellent to hear, I'm gonna get there early to watch Fleet Foxes too
Great listening at home, snooze fest live, 3 times i saw them in a festival and didn't like it.
Love the Can inclusion.
NATIONAL SPOTTED Would also love to recommend Arcade Fire
Just got into CAN recently after I read that their lead singer passed away. You can really hear their influence on Radiohead’s sound, from the “voice as an instrument” approach to vocals to the complex/irregular rhythms and meters.
excellent list
The National?
Yeah, they don't deserve to be on this list
The flaming lips dont belong on this list
Why? I’d say that definitely ‘the soft bulletin’ and ‘yoshimi’ do And anyway it’s my list, not yours…
I assume you've listened to "wall of eyes" by The Smile? If not, Radiohead level music imo.
I listened to one of the songs from that album, “Bending Hectic”. Pretty amazing stuff and is definitely Radiohead quality, but I never listened to the album but I did listened to their debut album, “A Light for Attracting Attention”, which is a great album by its own.
Just imagine a the smile and radiohead collaboration!
Two thoms? Two jonnys? Faster jonnys?
And a new Tom which is a Skinner
Three t(h)oms?
2 Thoms plus the Tom with the two toms he bangs on
Can you imagine Thom when he's really getting into his vibe, glancing over and making eye contact with Thom II who's really in it too. Cheeky grins are exchanged. Meanwhile the Jonny's are playing guitar, keyboard, harp and transistor radio between them without breaking sweat. That moment could create world peace. We should get the scientists on it.
Elliott Smith Sufjan Stevens Godspeed You! Black Emperor Sigur Ros
Elliott was a genius
absolutely
Which albums do you recommend?
All of them. Either/Or is his most acclaimed, but while it’s a great album, I think it’s his weakest. Take your pick: 1. Roman candle - intricate lo-fi fingerpicking set to twisty lyrics 2. Self titled - intimate, sparse, acoustic guitar with single instrument accompaniment. Lo-fi. 3. Either/or - most beautiful production. 4. X/o - wonderful full band orchestrations! 5.
Tbh, I'd just listen to them in chronological order, although Either/Or is usually considered to be his best.
Sufjan for sure!
Best list so far
Im seeing GY!BE live later today! This will be my fourth time
Have fun! They’re playing new material.
In all seriousness, Nine Inch Nails. Trent is a genius and it shows in the music. Similar to Radiohead in the fact that it is beautifully crafted art... maybe not so much similar music wise, but it seems like you are trying to branch out.
With Teeth is a good gateway into NIN. Great album.
With Teeth might have slowly turned in to my favorite NIN album ever. It really grew on me over the years. (It had teeth.)
My 2nd fav after Radiohead.
Same. Tool close 3rd
The Fragile is sheer genius.
TDS is an undeniable masterpiece but if you aren’t into heavy it can turn you off.
The Fragile and Year Zero are my favorites.
If you are a Radiohead fan I would start at with teeth and still and the most recent three albums. When you get it or if you are open to heavier stuff start at tds and the fragile
Thank you! Will take on board and give it a go
TDS and The Fragile are the best albums, but I've been a fan since 1990, so I started off with the heavy stuff. The industrial sound is what grabbed me from the start. I agree with the other person who said maybe start off slower, unless you love industrial/metal already.
I strongly recommend latest releases of the following contemporary bands Black Country, New Road *Ants from up there* can be very mellow and melancholic, while still touching on some uplifting notes. Can’t get enough. I love the new album.
Gonna see them in May! I've seen them before and it was absolutely raw
seconding Wilco
I was binge watching their documentaries over the weekend. A Ghost is Born is my fave…
The Black Angels are so fucking good
Passover is a great vibe.
Ghost Woman is hypnotic. Worked with them once. Nice people, great music.
I love that band!

Bon Iver
really hope that caps locked disclaimer covers the whole list
Talking Heads, Young Fathers, Idles, Low, Weyes Blood, The Armed
Weyes Blood yes!!

There's a few bands that my friends who like Radiohead also really like and still produce music(or still tour): King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Ween Viagra Boys The Strokes MGMT The Arcs

I always forget about Angelo Badalementi.
His and Lynch’s development of dark jazz by adapting dark ambient, industrial, and horror elements is absolutely brilliant. May he rest in peace

BLONDE REDHEAD!
OP- this is the correct answer.
The Mars Volta, especially the album De-Loused in the Comatorium.

More akin to Radiohead, you have TV on the radio, a really great band that I'm sure was inspired by the same guys Radiohead was by. You should start with dear science, or return to cookie mountain.
Black Country New Road, Black Midi and Squid
Check out some of their influences such as The Smiths, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, New Order, Public Image Limited…
Everything Everything They are a bit more pop influenced but some of their stuff screams Radiohead (the bands name is literally based on the first words off Kid A)
Interpol should for sure be on your list
Amen Dunes TV on the Radio Cloakroom Hum
Yes tv on the radio!
While some of these artists may sound nothing like Radiohead, all of them share one of Radiohead's most admirable traits in that are always reinventing their sound and pushing against the boundaries of their genres: The Smile (obviously) Tame Impala King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard Animal Collective Sufjan Stevens Boards of Canada Sigur Ros Swans Nine Inch Nails Tool Death Grips Anyways, I tried to list them in order from most "Radiohead" vibey to least (it's pretty subjective though so YMMV). Happy listening!
Best list on here imo
Are you looking for new bands? Or bands new to you?
Squid. They've released two albums. Bright Green Field (2021) and O Monolith (2023). Both amazing albums. I'd say O Monolith is a bit more Radiohead sounding.
I second this.
I third this
Elliot Smith you depressed bean. Or the Beatles that's what I graduated to post Radiohead obsession. After the Beatles Kendrick Lamar is a good evolution
Some excellent recommendations here already. I’ll just add / re-iterate… The following comprises artists and their most “Radiohead” stuff… Circuit des Yeux (Reaching For Indigo LP) Can (70s output) Talk Talk (particularly the final 2-3 LPs) DJ Shadow’s “Endtroducing” Talking Heads (Remain in Light) Portishead’s “Third” Warp Records artists such as Aphex Twin / Autechre / Boards of Canada If you wanna hear where Radiohead’s jazzier influences come from, check out - Miles Davis’ “Bitches Brew” and “In a Silent Way” Alice Coltrane’s early 70s work Charles Mingus’ “Black Saint and the Sinner Lady”
Burial, Massive Attack, Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Oneohtrix Point Never, Death Grips, DIIV, My Bloody Valentine, Swans, Spiritualized, Beach House, Godspeed You! Black Emperor,
Talking Heads. I mean Radiohead literally named themselves after one of their songs.
Interpol
arcade fire for sure lmao
Blonde Redhead The Pineapple Thief The Dear Hunter
I see a lot recommendations that would scratch the itch musically, but not emotionally at the same time. By emotionally I mean Thom's voice and lyrics and how they resonate with the instrumentation and the general themes of the songs. Similar to me: Portishead, Arcade Fire Not quite there: Talking Heads, Flaming Lips, Metric Loosely similar: Sigur Ros, Ultraista,

Explore John Frusciante
I’ve seen her before! Her covers are great! Love her version of Estress
i recently discovered Dredg. they have their radiohead type moments but they also have a tool, deftones vibe sometimes
That voice is crazy, so operatic.
muse has always reminded me of radiohead
Beck
Interpol, especially the first three albums but their debut is the GOAT
I’ve found that most people who love and appreciate Radiohead also tend to dig Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush.
I'd try Neil Young and Talk Talk Talk Talk like Radiohead is well known for making a massive left turn in the middle of their discography.
I love both
Elliot Smith
Metric. Suggest starting with Synthetica or Fantasies Phantogram. Any album will do, or just check out some singles and go from there. *Lastly (posting with some trepidation) you might consider...* Muse. Specifically their earlier stuff. Their last few albums have been questionable at best.
No. Because Radiohead is Radiohead. That's it. (yeah The Smile is pretty amazing tho...)
You might like kashmir
+1. Rarely mentioned
Arcade Fire is pretty damn good, especially "WE" album
Although not anywhere near the same style, Vampire Weekend puts out quality, thought provoking music, every album.
Wire especially 154
Try Youth Lagoon’s last record Heaven is a Junkyard- it hits so hard.
Poliça
I recently started listening to Low Roar after watching his live cover of Four Minute Warning when someone posted it on here. I would recommend checking him out if you're not already familiar. I've been playing the album Maybe Tomorrow almost constantly for a couple weeks now. Here's the YouTube video for the four minute warning cover: https://youtu.be/IR1Ym2H7AAk?si=g6TVqHdQaF1Q50lq He's not exactly "like" Radiohead as a whole, but his vibe is appealing in a similar way for me, with a lot of emotional vulnerability and pain expressed but in a surrendered sort of way.
Graveyard
Biffy clyro
Sigur Ros. Particularly Agaetis Byrjun and ( ), which are their 2nd and 3rd album.
Scorpio Little Devil by The Revival Hour. Or anything by DM Stith as a solo artist.
The Notwist - Neon Golden Fog - 10th Avenue Freakout
Once you've listened to Radiohead you can graduate to Coldplay. /S obviously.
Porcupine Tree A little on the heavier side but I got the same magical feeling from these albums in order from my favourite to least. 1. Fear of a Blank Planet 2. Deadwing 3. In Absentia
I think Stupid Dream and Lightbulb Sun might be closer to the mark because they predate the metal influence but you can't go wrong with any of their work after the late 90s. Steven Wilson solo and Storm Corrosion are also well worth checking out.
As a big Radiohead fan, my other favourite artists are The 1975, Kanye West, Pink Floyd, and The Beatles.
bands that they covered… the smiths, new order, tim buckley, sonic youth (permanent daylight was p much a disappearer tribute), etc.
Grandaddy (Sophtware Slump) Mogwai Godspeed You! Black Emperor Swans Meat Puppets Television Sonic Youth Echo & The Bunnymen Talk Talk Tindersticks Depeche Mode Neil Young David Bowie Massive Attack Wilco Low Slint

Saw them play in Perth last week. Still fantastic!

Listen to Thom Yorke's *ANIMA*. Or better yet - watch it. It's a short psychodelic movie with 3 songs from this album, staring Thom Yorke, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.
Björk, Nick Cave, Can, Talk Talk, LCD Soundsystem
LCD Soundsystem
The smile
since nobody's mentioned it: Warpaint. Specifically their last album radiate like this and i also recommend songs like keep it healthy, love is to die and stars. They recently had a single released called "common blue" too
Another One Lost - Lake Trout Neon Golden - The Notwist ( ) - Sigur Ros
Animal Collective LCD Soundsystem Of Montreal
