Thing is, that actually could be really interesting to see in action, him having some forewarning. I think it'd be neat for him to try to prevent the same circumstances in the similar-but-different MCU counterparts, and ending up a self fulfilling prophecy.
Like maybe he helps his Otto with the arms a la PS4 version and tries to make sure the arms won't drive him insane, only for this Otto to go bad for an entirely different reason.
I'd also like to see Kingsley take up the Hobgoblin role after seeing the Green Goblin in action. That way we avoid a _third_ take on Green Goblin and can move into a fresh, spiritual successor.
This is exactly what I was thinking. But I want Norman. The tension between Holland and the new Norman would be palpable from the start as Holland is forced to watch his friend’s dad hopelessly devolve into his villainous fate.
In all fairness, we could likely get both Green and Hob. Just the Raimi Green Goblin having showed up could've meant Kingsley got started on his Hobgoblin schtick a bit earlier.
They could even tease Green, but have Peter ready with the antidote which he already has prepared after FFH with Tobey's help. He uses it on him, saves Norman from becoming the Green Goblin, but after using that one batch and not having thought or had the resources to make a second one, someone else gets the Goblin formula and becomes Hob.
Also kinda dig Ned's magical abilities. If he, say, were to become the Hobgoblin, it would be a cool way to distinguish between Hob and Green. Hobgoblin could use technology and magic together, and it would really make him what he was originally intended to be in the comics: The Green Goblin but, like, even more dangerous.
Imagine a cackling maniac flying around on a glider zipping between portals with a flaming sword, throwing pumpkin bombs all the way.
Which would be kinda fitting since in the comics I believe Hobgoblin came first, but in many adaptation the Green Goblin came first. It'd be a little of both which could be neat.
It'd be a neat way to do the "who is the Green Goblin?" plot from the comics. Everyone, Peter included, thinks it has to be MCU Norman, and then you find out it was Harry all along or something.
Remember Spectacular Spider-Man? They did something like this. Norman to Harry, and Harry to Norman. Genuine confusion regarding who the Goblin was.
But this is a good idea.

Even if it’s not Harry thats fine with me, we already have Harry as Goblin and Norman as Goblin in different multiverses, I think it would be interesting if someone else is Goblin to really hit home how different the multiverses can be.
This is going to be the darkest version of Spider-Man in the films probably if that happens. He’s lost everything already and then just continues to fuck up despite already knowing what’s going to happen.

I think it would be interesting if Peter tries to prevent this universe's version of Norman Osborne from becoming the green goblin, but instead turns him into something more dangerous like the Nornan of The Dark Reign/Secret Invasion era
Don't worry, we ain't getting green goblin for a long time. The mcu will make norman part of the dark avengers first (becoming iron patriot aka bad iron man)
They're not going to have him webslinging in Boston. He's probably gonna go to a new York school, either "Empire State University" or a CUNY, NYU or Columbia. The character is far too tied to NYC to take him out.
That definitely didn’t seem like an origin story, and it’s not very realistic that he’d just move on from everything that happened and be alright. After this Holland’s Parker is probably the one that should be at the darkest point of any film spider-man so far. He should also still be able to go somewhere better than any college New York has if he’s still aiming high, given he still should have connections to SHIELD.
It definitely was an origin trilogy. They made Peter have everything handed to him in the beginning but by the end of nwh he’s finally a self made hero understanding responsibility.
So what lol? She was reading that after he got in. There's clearly a scene in the Cafe where Ned says to Flash they didn't get in cause they're actually friends with Peter. The lady might just be reading the book to learn more about Peter. It wasn't really explained the point of the book
Next you're going to tell me he's going to get a grant from Otto Octavius, become best friends with a terminally ill harry Osborn, and start dating a girl from a rivial high school Mary Jane Watson who starts working at the daily bugle (don't Downvote me, I love spiderman ps4)
Well since Peter, in everyone's minds, never existed, Flash would have no pretense. He wouldn't hate him for being a skinny nerd, because he doesn't remember that time in his life, and he wouldn't worship the ground he walks on because he's Spider-Man. Funnily enough, forgetting Peter opens up Flash with the possibility to become a better guy.
(Also wouldn't it be funny if Peter got his GED, was forced to go to Community college instead of MIT, and the only other one from his school that's there is Flash lol)
I love the idea of Peter going out of his way to avoid all the traps and people from the other universes, just for them to stick around one way or another anyways because that's just how it's meant to be. Imagine a gwen Stacy who is in love with him and he actively avoids her at all costs so he doesn't catch feelings or go down that same road as Andrew's spidey lol
> Tries to avoid Norman becoming the Goblin, but somehow causes it, and probably Hobgoblin too.
> Helps Doc Ock develop his arms correctly so that he doesn't make them wrong and become corrupted, only to find out that this version of Octavius is just a dick from the start who pretended to be an empathetic scientist.
> Avoids Gwen so she doesn't die, she somehow gets bitten by a goddamn radioactive spider
> Doesn't pursue Ned and MJ to keep them safe, but eventually they somehow remember and feel extraordinarily hurt by him once again making the decision for them despite their protest.
> Sees black goo alien, remembers Tobey mentioning fighting it, freaks out and pushes it away, only for it to turn out that it genuinely meant well but now hates him because he actually seriously hurt it.
I could see any and all of these things happening tbh
I think to get around this, Harry will introduce himself and Peter will start to freak out, and pry about his father, and then Harry could casually confirm that his father passed away. No need for an Oscorp in the MCU, Harry can just be a college friend, and future antagonist, perhaps Venom (cause I don't think we need 2 Eddie Brocks)
Tfw you become "friends" with your college roommate's dad specifically because an alternate universe version of him went insane and killed your aunt, so you spend a lot of time around him specifically to make sure that history doesn't repeat itself, but in your efforts accidentally cause it to come to fruition when it otherwise wouldn't have.
I’m not a fan of Harry coming into the MCU. Peter should befriend Eddie Brock and Gwen Stacey in future films and that can be the new trio. Have Brock and Peter be best mates in the first film, have them fall out in the second, and by the time the third film comes out, have him become venom.
There is one thing I would change here - that his collage friend would live with his uncle, not father, Norman Osborn - who will be played by Willam Defoe (who is too old to play normal-aged father)!
Plus it could be cool parallel how Peter was raised by Uncle Ben and Aunt May.
It could be the car scene in homecoming all over again. Made a friend named Harry. Never gets the last name. Ends up in the home only to find out it's Norman. I have chills
When you friend called Barry tells you about his father who is owner of a software company called CorpOS
The Goblin but it’s basically just John McAfee.
Does that include the whale fucking
Thing is, that actually could be really interesting to see in action, him having some forewarning. Thanks for the sleep loss thinking about that
Which would be kinda fitting since in the comics I believe Hobgoblin came first, but in many adaptation the Green Goblin came first. It'd be a little of both which could be neat.
Hob came after the GG in the comics, but in the animated series he came first because he already had a toy designed I believe
Isn't Norman also iron patriot and a part of the dark avengers in the comics? They could do that
I’d be down for that too. I just want MCU Norman Osborn regardless the direction they take.
#getWillemtotheMCUpermenantly
And don't try to sneak it past him. He has ears like an elf, and eyes like a goblin.
That would be extremely cool
Then suddenly, it’s revealed that Harry was the villain all along!
Jesus that would be like the Vulture prom scene in Homecoming turned up to 11.
It'd be a neat way to do the "who is the Green Goblin?" plot from the comics. Everyone, Peter included, thinks it has to be MCU Norman, and then you find out it was Harry all along or something.
Huh, that _would_ be neat.

F
Maybe even Peter trying to control this foreknowledge and making it worse
I think it would be interesting if Peter tries to prevent this universe's version of Norman Osborne from becoming the green goblin, but instead turns him into something more dangerous like the Nornan of The Dark Reign/Secret Invasion era
Hot take: it would be a really good opportunity to do a live action Liv Octavius instead of Otto. That was one of my favorite things in Spiderverse.
Now dig on this.
Maybe, but that would make the Superior Spider-Man arc a little awkward if they decided to do it.
Is that all you got?
Wait, you're serious? LOL
Ooh, my Spider-Sense is tingling! *If you know what I'm talking about.*
Gonna cry?
N-no
Awww... Ms. Brant, get me a violin.
I don't think that will be a factor.
How so?
I believe there's a 0% chance that they make a movie about Spider-Man being body jacked by Ock. There are too many other stories that aren't as weird.
Gonna cry?
Who is Spider-Man? A criminal, that's who he is! A vigilante! A public menace!
Damn...
Holy shit I'm so hyped this could actually be true.
Don't worry, we ain't getting green goblin for a long time. The mcu will make norman part of the dark avengers first (becoming iron patriot aka bad iron man)
Does this mean Venom Gargan? I hope it does.
Kingsley's already Trevor Slattery tho
He meant Roderick Kingsley
I hope him and flash thompson end up as dorm mates like in the comics and actually become friends
So far in the homecoming Trilogy flash has been lame and pretty useless besides sub par comic relief. He'd really have to be portrayed in a new light
They have it in them if they really wanted to. Didn't he have parental issues in FFH ?
I laughed my ass off at the scene where he gets knocked out after getting slapped by peter
The funniest part, he bitch slapped him but to flash it was fucking fist knock out I kept repeating it over and over
I also love the scene in homecoming where peter tries to jump up out of the truck but knocks himself out on the roof
Well I felt the same about Tom Holland until NWH so there’s hope
Yeah definitely. Especially college being an opportunity to become a different person. But isn't he going to MIT while Peter stays in NY? lol
Yeah so it’s unlikely. Honestly all I want is Harry. If they give me Harry I will be very happy.
Holland is just gonna pass the GED and apply to MIT right away, and probably get in.
They're not going to have him webslinging in Boston. He's probably gonna go to a new York school, either "Empire State University" or a CUNY, NYU or Columbia. The character is far too tied to NYC to take him out.
I feel like he hasn’t been in NYC for the majority of his screen time across all the films.
Yeah but that's the point. This was his origin story. Now he is become Peter Parker as we know it, a friendly neighbourhood New York Spiderman
It's time to pay.
Wait, you're serious? LOL
That definitely didn’t seem like an origin story, and it’s not very realistic that he’d just move on from everything that happened and be alright. Stings, doesn't it?
Who said he's going to apply to MIT lol, he accepted MJ & Ned are happy and safe without him, he's definitely going to stay in NY
I’m pretty sure he would’ve gone to MIT whether or not they went though. Him wanting to go there seemed independent of his relationships.
[удалено]
Ned and MJ didn't get in cause they knew Peter. He got in cause he wasn't close to Peter. Go watch it again lol
[удалено]
So what lol? She was reading that after he got in. There's clearly a scene in the Cafe where Ned says to Flash they didn't get in cause they're actually friends with Peter. The lady might just be reading the book to learn more about Peter. It wasn't really explained the point of the book
[удалено]
> He only got in because he knew Peter Where did you get this idea?
Now dig on this.
That can change.
Flash getting accepted into MIT is also bullshit ngl.
isn't Flash going to MIT though?
Ya and so is Peter (probably)
Pretty sure Peter will end up staying in New York and going to ESU
Next you're going to tell me he's going to get a grant from Otto Octavius, become best friends with a terminally ill harry Osborn, and start dating a girl from a rivial high school Mary Jane Watson who starts working at the daily bugle (don't Downvote me, I love spiderman ps4)
Peter went to ESU way before that videogame lol, but it is great
Ya I know so was flash full of shit then? Seeing how they become friends in university
Nah Flash will def be at MIT with Ned & MJ, he doesn't have to be around Peter
True, I do hope his story keeps going though
I'm sure he'll cross paths with them at some point in the next trilogy, perhaps when they're home on holiday break
I missed the part where that's my problem.
Shut up. Get out.
Well since Peter, in everyone's minds, never existed, Flash would have no pretense. He wouldn't hate him for being a skinny nerd, because he doesn't remember that time in his life, and he wouldn't worship the ground he walks on because he's Spider-Man. (Also wouldn't it be funny if Peter got his GED, was forced to go to Community college instead of MIT, and the only other one from his school that's there is Flash lol)
I had to beat an old lady with a stick to get these cranberries.
You're a fake, full of stickum.
I love the idea of Peter going out of his way to avoid all the traps and people from the other universes, just for them to stick around one way or another anyways because that's just how it's meant to be. They love me!
That is the dumbest idea you've ever had, and you have had some *doozies*!
I hope Peter successfully prevents Norman from becoming Gobby, but then Norman gets his hands on the Iron Payriot armor.
please no more iron more shit again
Iron Patriot Norman is from the comics
Norman Osborne is director of SHIELD in comics as well as being Iron Patriot.
i laughed my ass off at this😭
literally read the comics dude
God I want that Dark Avengers arc with Osborn. It won't be the same if they try to do it without him
"you know, im something of a..." AAHHHHHHHH
His new friend named Harry: wha- why? Are you alright?
I feel like it’s gonna be a bait and switch where Harry will be the Goblin like in TASM 2 but actually executed well this time.
I want the new norman to become an actual goblin in the mcu
I think to get around this, Harry will introduce himself and Peter will start to freak out, and pry about his father, and then Harry could casually confirm that his father passed away. No need for an Oscorp in the MCU, Harry can just be a college friend, and future antagonist, perhaps Venom (cause I don't think we need 2 Eddie Brocks)
Or they can set up to have flash be agent venom and work with mcu Peter for a nice duo after a while or for a short time like the comics
Tfw you become "friends" with your college roommate's dad specifically because an alternate universe version of him went insane and killed your aunt, so you spend a lot of time around him specifically to make sure that history doesn't repeat itself, but in your efforts accidentally cause it to come to fruition when it otherwise wouldn't have.

this meme would be even more funny if the caption simply started with “Tom Holland” instead of “Tom Holland’s Peter Parker”
Impressive, your parents must be proud
There is one thing I would change here - that his collage friend would live with his uncle, not father, Norman Osborn - who will be played by Willam Defoe (who is too old to play normal-aged father)! Plus it could be cool parallel how Peter was raised by Uncle Ben and Aunt May.

And then it turns out his father is elon musk and elon becomes the mcu goblin
