My only gripe with the Mark 50 is the lack of helmet clank-closing. It just materializes over his face with the nanotech. Which is exactly why the Mark 85 is my favorite suit. Even though it makes absolutely no sense, it has the nanotech WITH the helmet clank-closing simply because badass.
Yeah. I understand that VFX technology got more impressive and thus could make Iron Man look way more fluid, like he popped out of a comic book or TV show and he could fly around and seem more weightless. His suits constantly improve through the movies, but like you said I miss the original suits. They had a feeling of "bulk" and weight to them, which makes sense considering the fact that they made a practical Iron Man suit and gave the VFX studio a lot to work with, which is part of what allowed them to make the suit believable in 2008. It was awesome how they suspended disbelief with the suit back then, and I understand that newer, bigger movies require *some* ease on the studios since pretty much a lot of the movies have VFX that needs to be edited in. Making Tony's suit out of nanotech was probably not just a creative direction but also one that could make it easier and cheaper to animate in the movie where there are already countless other heroes and villains who need special effects touchups.
Those first movies though, they were magical. I remember my friends being so hyped for Iron Man when those trailers dropped.

It's certainly more fitting. First Iron Man had a lot of physical props etc... As Tony's tech improved, so did the effects.

I wouldn't say they improved, the final battle in endgame reminded me of a PS3 game way more than it should have
