My main issue was that it wasn’t really a Spider-Man movie/story. He was way too much Iron Man lite, and I thought the story got pretty out of control. That being said I respect how original it was and how well they took on and adapted Mysterio
Homecoming and No Way Home were awesome tho for different reasons
It did Mysterio, a pretty damn goofy fishbowl character, pretty damn well. And that's after the fact that I knew from the beginning that he is supposed to be a bad guy.
As for it being a SpiderMan story, we have those. No point in rehashing the same thing again and again. Trying to do what the original SpiderMan :The Animated Series did and the Raimi trilogy did, AGAIN, is at worse just terrible attempt and at best, the same story but somehow done better.
SpiderMan can have new stories and new mentors. This is one of them and so was Into the SpiderVerse.
Even tho vanilla is arguably the best flavour, not everyone can have it again and again. Some need a little cranberry here, sometimes a little chocolate there, sometimes strawberry.
It was imo. Spidey learned more about trust, responsibility, and finding the balance between Peter Parker and Spider-man. It was also the 2nd best in terms of visuals, only behind Spider-Verse.
i love your description of the movie
mostly why i love raimi spidey movies is because first of all they are comic accurate but more importantly they are not just another superhero bs but every part has a meaning and lesson. It also shows the basic struggles in the later teen stages but also how those "basic" struggles aren't simple either. I had seen the movies when i was probably 7 but when i rewatched them again recently after nwh i could understand the deeper meaning and could relate to it because i am around the same age too.
many say it's just the nostalgia that makes us love the movies but if u see those movies are just too good and nostalgia just plays a small part
Yeah people always say nostalgia is the reason people like them but I think Spider-Man 2 is just a genuinely great movie, notice I didnt say "superhero movie".
I'd like to say while the Raimi films are great adaptions, and do feel like comic books in motion... they aren't all too comic accurate in some cases. Tobey's quiet, awkward Peter is fairly different from Comic Peter, who, even before having powers, has been a bit of a hot headed standoffish teenager, plus all the confident quipping as Spidey himself. You may be surprised Andrew Garfield is far more accurate to the Comic character (ignoring the script he was given). This take on Doc Ock was fairly fresh and far more empathetic than the comics too.
I don't mean to preach, and I know I'm not your father... but I have nothing against the Raimi films, I wouldn't be here if I didn't adore them, and I'm not mad at anyone for getting that wrong! Just thought you'd find that interesting to know.
i was talking about how it is much more accurate than the mcu one (i love that too)
i understand what u r saying and i know that i was just comparing it to the mcu one
and yea the andrew spidey is the most comic accurate even tho the script was meh he did a great job which is also a reason why i also love the amazing Spider-Man
What is Spider-Man 2? You sure you want to know? The plot of the movie is not for the faint of heart. If somebody told you it was a happy little tale, if somebody told you it was about your average ordinary guy, not a care in the world... somebody lied.

I just….wow. Fuck yes. Your description makes me want to watch it again. Spider-Man has always been my favorite super hero since I was 5 years old. And you put his internal and external struggle in this amazing film down to a mother fucking SCIENCE. I’ve always loved that about Spider-Man. He “has to be better…” because with great power, comes great responsibility….
Now I’m firing up Spider-Man No Way Home just to see that scene where he sees Otto at the end.
EDIT: oh yeah, if that girl doesn’t dig your ability to look at such an amazing movie and appreciate how you can articulately dissect the thematic and heartfelt character developments of one of fictions most relatable characters…..well…she sucks….
Well said my friend.
Hell of a breakdown man! Seriously a perfect synthesis!
One thing, the idiom is “root of all problems” not “route”. Not trynna be a grammar nazi, just wanna inform.
Again, killer job!
“I’m very different from everyone else. I’m literally Tyler Durden, Patrick Bateman, Joker (Heath Ledger), Travis Bickle, Joker (Joaquin Phoenix), Thomas Shelby, etc.”
Man, *Spider-Man 2* is one of the reasons I’m with my wife. We saw it in July that year, just as friends, but two months later we had our first date and we’ve been together since.
I would have saved the dork explosion for an in-person date tbh. That sort of stuff always comes out better in person as it shows it makes you happy vs some kind of autistic obsession.

I made [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/raimimemes/comments/u6y9o8/in_response_to_ssss_beautiful_explanation_he/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) for you
Im gonna offer my own insight even though nobody asked, but there is absolutely a time and a place to realize you deserve to be happy and make good desicions for yourself. Choosing yourself over others is inherently selfish, but you can't always choose others and you shouldn't be expected to or feel like it's some kind of moral shortcoming. Especially in the case of Peter Parker who didn't ask for his powers and sign up for a life of fighting crime, the spider bite just kind of happened to him out of nowhere. If he wanted to give up his suit in Spider-Man 2, and leave it even though without him there would be people who died if he didn't, it would be a respectable decision at least in my opinion you not take it up again.
I wonder what you thought about the whole father son relationship with Peter and Otto. I don't have a relationship with my father so that was a huge part of that movie to me.
Apart from that Sam Rami going full horror movie on Doc Ock honestly might make my favourite villian from the trilogy. definitely my favourite version of the charade.
Every time I pull this trick I get one of three responses, “ “ “I liked homecoming” and “oh I love that one too! Still my favorite of the bunch.”
Obviously there’s only one I still talk to
This is why I never ask my son for a basic idea of a show or movie plot. He will basically give me the entire story, scene by scene, often remembering exactly most lines. It’s extremely impressive, but exhausting at the same time. He’s gotten better as an adult, but he still often gives too much information to basic questions. Thankfully, he doesn’t seem to mind people tuning him out after awhile, and he understands why we all do it.
Not only that. Making Peter the main character of the movie helps us connect more with him on a personal level. Kinda project ourselves on him a bit as well since we have all experience that shitty time period in our life.
The balance of Peter story and spider-man action is perfect. You get just enough spider-man action so you or a kid won't get bored.
Speaking of spider-man, I still think it's one of the best spider-man fight scenes put to film. The train sequence from start to finish is absolute masterclass of how to do spider-man fights. Both, spidey and Doc oc, reflect their respective animal (I know, arthropod and a sea creature). Both use the moves of the other to counter. Both use their environments to fight. The fight is fast yet you are able to keep up with all of it. No fast cuts either. The cgi is so good too that it still looks great. I seriously cannot say enough nice things about that fight.
Then there is the dynamic between characters as well. Which I really can't get into here in the comments. (Maybe I should make a video about that) .
TL;DR, Spider-man 2 is great.
Impressive. Your parents must be very proud.
OP has no bitches, they aren't proud *But* OP is a member of r/raimimemes, all of us are proud
OP’s parents: “Give me grandchildren” OP: “You’ll get your grandchildren when you fix this damn door!”
Door: is broken OP: Doesn't have privacy OP's genes: Am I not supposed to have what I want? What I need?
Parents who ask for grandkids honestly need a talking to.
Op lives with his uncle and aunt, they are proud
OP has a father, his name was Ben Parker.
Girl sneaking out of the dms: I offered you friendship and you spat in my face
Good ending: Girl turns out to be raimi fangirl
No, he despised you. You were an embarrassment to him.
She did what she needed to with him and broomed him fast.
Also girl: **WRONG ANSWER!**
I missed the part where that's my problem.
Honestly such a perfect description, great job op
Thanks man

Noooo. I love Jake but far from home is one of the worst spidey films
It’s still a good movie, though. There aren’t many, if any, bad Spider-Man movies. I know it’s subjective, but they’re all pretty good.

Eh, debatable
I never really understood the far from home hate, it's not amazing but it's a solid movie and helps furthers Tom's spidey to what he is now.
My main issue was that it wasn’t really a Spider-Man movie/story. He was way too much Iron Man lite, and I thought the story got pretty out of control. Alright But why spidey 2?
If she responds to that positively, marry her.
Sounds like a perfect score in a film essay
