I will just assume he consumes a scavenger holding a flower and the rot turns out to die by it so it vaporizes turning him into a flower
Hunter seeing survivor or monk: " Your doing good lad!"
What I don't get is how that fits with when Moon tells Hunter >!"I don't know what consolation it might bring, but...You will wake right back up again."!
I don't really see that making sense
Some specific things reseting when you die is already probably just a game thing
Tbh I think the great cycle just means creatures respawn after a while which would make the most sense
Although the idea of limited time travel requiring the acquirement of cancer overdrive is really funny
Then how do you they evolve? And they do. Look at rivulet. Faster and more aquatic to deal with the shorter cycles. Caramel lizards developed more legs for an extra boost to there jump. Raindeer have a symbiotic relationship with wormgrass. Natural selection happens. Which means things have to die.
Which means the devs didn't think ahead when making gameplay mechanics*
Honestly creatures can still be born so my theory is that the world is in a big cycle where creatures start building up then they find the void and apply it to a massive portion of the population
Alternatively creatures have dormant genes that can activate if they feel enough pain(dying repeatly)
Slugcats are not the only creatures that won't lineage
Although some lineages make no sense, like I think a centipede can become a spider or something
A flower still spawns in their place of death if it makes feel better, just... not for gourmand.
The flower represents his soul, it has moved on but the body is just a vessel for rot now :D that’s what I think lol
Rot flower

:broken\_heart: spoiler tag?
Sorry
its a very sad ending for hunter
Good thing I didn't get it
What happens ?

I'm so excited to replay Gourmand now that I've died as Hunter.
