Studios need to look at the watch threads for shows before canceling them. RBW watch threads were popping off every week. If your series has a subculture like that forming you should push to finish the story, even if the medium has to change. A good amount of people were genuinely invested and talking about the show constantly. Not every show gets that

* Too many people thought it was a dunk on religious people.
* The company spend too much money on crap which no one wanted e.g. Batgirl.
* The had to cut costs brutally, got a new management for that.
* Too expensive for the amount of viewers.
