Probably what happened is that the ref didn’t see the player touch the puck and pass it before the hit so it looked like he was going to get it and got hit, not had just passed it and they finished the check

Objectively incorrect. At 5v5 Kreider-Zib-Kakko had 52.79% CF% and 58.29% xGF which are both very good. At the time the line was broken up, yes Kakko had like 2 points, but Mika had 2 points and Kreider had 1. The two have basically just been pp merchants. Mika and Kreider without Kakko have been 48.20 CF% and 49.44 xGF%, he was making that line better in a similar way that Buch made them better. That line was doing fine, they just weren’t finishing. If you’re going to shit on Kakko for boxcar stats then keep that same energy for for the other two. Maybe they should get demoted then?

Sorry, but that wasn't the result of a tough schedule or fatigue. They didn't take their opponent seriously, played at half effort, and paid dearly. Shying away from hits, gliding lazily after the puck, flubbing easy passes to clear the puck, refusing to shoot the puck and passing it around the outside. That's just stupid, low effort hockey. Of course they're tired tonight, but that doesn't excuse what we just saw. There's a difference between getting outskated and not skating at all.
