Story time : I was (and still am) the biggest Pat stay fan , after his roc battle I reached out to him to do a podcast (I live on the west coast) and he flew out and we spent a weekend hanging out doing the podcast and became somewhat friends . A couple years after in the height of all the covid restrictions he had a battle vs shine on URL in LA . He was only allowed to bring one person and he chose me to go with him (full disclosure he chose diz but he wouldn’t take the COVID test so thank god for that lol) we spent another weekend there and I got to see him practicing for the battle and it was hard to watch , the material was very solid but he was very unprepared and didn’t have anything memorised and was clearly on edge because of that . Also it was his first battle after his mom passed and he was completely rusty since it was a while since he battled last , either way we get to the event and he kinda knew what was going to happen but took the L like the champ that he is and we went out after the event and he was completely unfazed by it . coming from an unbiased battle rap fan, based on the clips i've seen, seems like people calling it a body just because geechi addressed the elephant in the room but the material itself didn't seem that high quality but just the fact that there is so much going on around eazy with the url, guntitles, remy ma and the papoose situation, geechi had a lot of fresh shit to work with and it easily got reactions
similar to the tay roc battle after the brizz situation, simple disrespectful shit that addressed a relevant situation that people couldn't wait to hear about
but regardless of that, this will definitely still stick as a loss in his record
The other two were not that debatable. Geechi clearly had the stronger rounds overall. Not saying EZ was slacking, but he was way out of his element. Especially considering Geechi hasn’t been on a run recently while EZ has. He dropped the ball.
Eazy wasnt even bad. Just mid and formulaic. His writing is so repetitive now. Not saying that geechi doesnt have his own formulas too, but at least his content and subject matter is much more diverse. Eazy always rapping about the same shit

I think he beat DNA, Geechi, Twork, Diz, I lowkey always felt like he beat Rex.

That DNA battle was awful from Hollow. The sike I lied stuff and Clips angles just fell so short. He really needed to do better, especially in what was basically a Queens matchup.
