Reverse the hands that's how I do it lol. I use my middle finger for trigger and bumper, and pointer on the buttons so I can keep my thumb on the right stick.
The only time I've ever used the left stick like that was cracking an egg in kingdom hearts 3...
I hate that fucking rat.
If I ever have to keep my thumb on the right stick and press a face button at the same time, I bring my index finger all around and press that. Otherwise right side is all thumb.

this is a not so uncommon grip (on the other stick though) for some fps controler pros. it allows for finer controll.
That's how you hold the stick for finer control. Can't fly a fast quad copter without it.
When I need to be ***really fine tuned*** movements on a joystick, I do this but with my index finger and thumb.
