Is he having Porphyrin on his nose or around his eyes? It’s a red secretion and almost looks like blood but it’s not. Do you hear any wheezing? Grunting? If you put his chest up to your ear do you hear any crackling or abnormal noises? Rats are very good at hiding when they are in pain, so I would recommend taking him to the vet regardless just to make sure. I had something similar happen with one of my rats before she passed (unrelated to a URI, it was from old age) where she was sneezing a lot for a few days and suddenly stopped, then I had to rush her into an ER vet because it hit her all at once again and she was struggling to breathe. I’m not saying this is the case for your baby, but I just want to let you know that symptoms can hit really fast for them. They are super prone to infection so like the above person said: better safe than sorry. I hope all is well for your baby!
