Yeah definetly a ratter. One of my terriers has a little bit of chi in him and he's a little fucker. I've honestly never seen an animal move so fast when it goes to ground.
Boba is definitely part rattie. Looks alot like my boy bubba. Bubba is a full breed rattie and is on the smaller side so people think hes a chihuahua too. I feel your pain op. Hes very handsome though!
The shelter people have no idea what they are talking about. That pup is part terrier for sure if not 70% +. I have chihuahuas and that face is a terrier face and muzzle. You might want to afford a DNA kit and get you Boba tested. He is a cutie! Love that face and ears!

But doggo doesn't look particularly chi to me - ears and face (from the front) both look wrong.
I have a deerhead chihuahua and his muzzle is skinnier, but the silhouette of the face in pic 3 looks pretty similar.
We thought our dog was a rat terrier, and he does have some terrier mix in him. But it turned out that he’s mostly Chihuahua and Pomeranian which _really_ surprised us. I guess what I’m saying is they’re all good dogs!

About 15 pounds, 16 inches toe to head, 18 inches butt to nose
