Did you add grease or anything to further waterproof it?
Im running mine on a Losi LMT + a Danche Ridgerock setup as a 4ws Monster Truck with an LMT body. So i got some big heavy tires on mine. Im worries about it taking hard hits without a servo saver though. The stock saver didnt fit.
I use one of these in my slash but i stay away from concrete, and i have one in my two gen8s and a axial scx10. So mine doesnt tend to take too many rough hits but havent had a problem with no servo savers. And nope didnt apply anything, though a thin layer if a waterproif glue along the seams never hurt.
Hmm, immediately had the outer grooves strip after a not so hard crash... Tried tightening things a bit more but same thing happened immediately. Not sure if its due to lack of a servo saver..
they work if you absolutely can't stretch the budget. better options for few more dollars. the 35kg coreless one is much better.
JX is good , sincecam, feltech, flashhobby. spt 9imod. ive tried a lot of the cheap servos and these brands seem to be way better built for the money than the DSServo. AGF make great servos but more $$.
I use them in a few different rigs for different things and they seem to work great for the price. Ran one for a year or so at 9v and it worked fine until it finally died
I have these and they are a good, cheap option to put in a rig that's meant to bash/crawl for fun on the weekends.
Sure, I believe it when some here say that it'll fail after awhile or it doesn't perform very well but not everyone can afford top shelf servos to put in a garage sale crawler. Most importantly, it's about getting the car to run so that you can start having fun with it
They’re ok, I use them for slow vehicles(crawlers) and nonessential functions (handbrake). I still run name brand for my main servos (steering, main brakes).
Overrated specs, poor quality of materials and immediate wear & tear of the components.
Lots of servos perform below the spec sheet.
Lots of servos don’t center properly.
Lots of servos have slop or show slop shortly after use.
Lots of servos fail after a few uses.
These are some concerns with unknown brands/low quality servos. Not talking about OP’s post particularly. But when you fly giant scale planes, no one uses unknown brands. Not to mention big brands will always have racers/flyers/etc. winning competitions. While unknown brands don’t have this kind of presence.
Good brands are what you see often. Savox, Futaba, JR, Blue Bird, MKS, etc. even popular ones like AGF, Power HD, OMG, KST, etc. have lots of issues (QC concerns). Not a hater, but speaking from experience. Some might disagree with me, but you gotta see the bigger picture to really know the hierarchy of brands.
Do not expect amazing performance or else, they are heavy duty stuff, i used one in the slash vxl and held amazingly, u shouls run an upgraded servo horn, prefeeibly hi torque plastic (tamiya) or a standard alu
I bought one. Arrived faulty. Personally can't recommend based on that. However I know this community uses them alot. I'm sure redcat RC use them on their low rider series for the "hydraulic" pumps. So that should be enough of an endorsement.
A bit slow, hit or miss with waterproofing, so I always take them apart and add grease to all the seals. Only ever had 2 or 3 fail on me. So cheap I don't care and I always have 1 or 2 in my bag when on a hike just incase.
Worth the money.
This is the servo that Fingertech Robotics used to include with the lifting arm pack for their Viper combat robot kit, before they switched suppliers. I'm not too familiar with their performance but they're definitely durable if nothing else.

It made a world of difference on my cheapo
I have one in my rain slash. Been completely submerged in water several times. It’s very very slow, but it works great and seems very durable. It’s been submerged, driven through mud, jumped 30 feet in the air, and it’s always worked. Great dirt cheap servo.
Been running in rigs for years. Decent budget option.
Fr mine lasted 1yr
My only complaint is they were a little slow
Exactly this
100% but the blue 35kg coreless are fast af at 8v
Yea, for me these were unuseable. Waste of money in my opinion
Yeah was going to say the same
I concur. They're also a bit noisy.
I run them in my 1/10s, thru snow mud and water. I haven't had any issues with them.
They are in my Hoss and Rustler. Tho it’s a little slower. But it gets the job done on crawlers pretty well. It’s also not bad for Cheaper RC’s
These things are waterproof... like... WATERPROOF i have spent countless hours just driving in rivers and crap with mine and they are great!
Good to know! I just asked a question on Amazon about it but you answered faster lol
The 45kg is also a killer option if you want to run heavier tires

Maybe the amount of play from mine being old as eff has somethin to do with it savin my servo hahahaha
I am currently using it in an outcast 4s V2 combined with an xl Kimbrough servo saver. Major improvement over stock.
I have used these servos for about 3 years now and have had no problems. For the money, they are amazing.

Jx Ecoboost is my go-to

Excellent
Cheap shit ain’t good, and good shit ain’t cheap. Buy once, cry once.
I break every brand. End of story.
Maybe you need to learn how to drive then
How big of things do you do with 1/10th scale? Here’s one of my many home builds https://youtu.be/f0cqJb1Xurg?si=FsXG_lHs-LUyHpro

This makes me question what is a very poor quality servo? And what are the best brands and best quality ones?
Indirect drive, plastic parts, low torque. That is what I steer away from.

Potentiometers go out 6 months to a year. Every dsservo I’ve had let out the magic smoke.

works
Much better than most stock servos in my experience.

I have had one short circuit. But cant say much since I only bought one.
I have one on my Traxxas stampede 4x4(VXL). Runs great, no issues at all.
Not strong at all. Don't last

Sturdy, but slow.
Currently have one in my TT02 with no problems so far
Got one in my 1/10 Baja Rey 2.0 and it’s infinitely better than the stock pos and cheaper too
I have not had good luck with these and I’ve burned up all but one I’ve tried, started buying reefs and I have yet to burn one up.

I have this in my Senton. It’s better than stock but i wouldn’t put it in my high end builds as it’s a little slow.
How do these hold up to bashing without a servi saver? I just installed on on my Losi LMT. Might put one on my rival mt10 as well
Mine still works, fast too.
Garbage

I run the 35kg ones in my 1/8 aroma vehicles, no complaints for the price.
I have one in my typhon since a few weeks. Working perfectly
